Hello, i just wnated to know if i would be better off getting a 1650 right now and upgrade the GPU later down the road or straight away get an 2060. I would be doing some AAA games, not cyberpunk, games like Witcher 3, Frozen horizon, Hitman 3, and some indie games. Will be using 1080 monitor for now. No budget contrarians between the two.

Hi! Recently ive been getting some issues with my games not using my dGPU (1650m) and using my integrated Vega 8 graphics which is making the games bottleneck and my computer slow down. I have a 2nd display plugged in via HDMI, also i have forced my games both on windows and the nvidia control panel to use my 1650m but it doesnt work. Someone said to me on reddit that my dGPU isnt getting any power/very little. Does anyone know how to fix this and if so what other details i need to provide so you can assist me further? Thanks! Kian

Hi everyone, rookie here. I kind of have a prob, here's what I know - I switched to an nvme storage and suddenly, my computer started to make error beeps at boot and then reboot and it's good to go. It doesn't occure every time though, most of the time it boots just fine. - I don't think it's ssd related because beeps are 1 long + 2 shorts, I checked and apparently it is a graphics error code. - I started having some crashes after long sessions of gaming. I took out my GPU and put it back, didn't quite solve the problem. After investigation, it has occured to me that it could potentially be a PSU issue: my PSU is 6 years-ish old and maybe it is starting failing. Therefore it could fail providing power during high loads such as boot or long gaming sessions. Might be wrong though. There it is guys, it's a long post but I hope you can help, maybe you had similar experiences or suggestions about what it could be ? Thanks a lot

Hi all, Lately I have been noticing my FPS drop from 200 to an atrociously terrible 28 fps. I normally run Team Fortress 2 (because I'm too broke to get other games ;-;) on my Alienware M14XR2. So I opened my task manager and ensured my game's priority was set to high and closed off any unwanted processes. I Have already checked my temperatures (69 degrees Celsius) and have cleaned my laptop's vents. While i was looking at task manager, I noticed the dedicated gpu memory and the shared gpu memory barely even being used at all. (Before i believe i was using at least 1GB of my GPU's memory.) And this doesn't just go for TF2. It went for EVERY game. I hope I can get my fps back up again. MY SPECS; Intel core i7 3720QM @2.6Ghz (set to 3.6GHz most of the times) Nvidia Geforce GT 650M 2GB 16GB DDR3 1666MHz RAM PLEXTO PX-128M5M (My 100GB SSD) ST1000LM 4 (My 1TB SHDD) Here is what my game recommends me

I found this old graphics card in my basement I can't find any information on it if put in the part number. Anyone have any clue? Thanks

Ive got a graphics card with a 6 and 8-pin female port for power. As it requires 100 W max, my auxiliary connector port on my server will not be sufficient. Rather, I've decided to go with my 100 W DC power supply that has a standard 3-prong outlet with an adjustable voltage (although it's 3 prong ill be using it in DC mode). Since this isn't really a standard connection with off-the-shelf components, I was curious if any one had any recommendations for types of adapters and products I should keep an eye out for when trying to rig this together. Ideally, I'd like to keep this under $30.

Big shout out to MSI for sponsoring this video! Check out all of their products we used down below. PCI Express gen 4 has been around for over a year and a half now – But it hasn’t really made much of a difference… Does that change with Ryzen 5000, RTX 3000, and Radeon 6000? When it comes to GPU, is it better to buy the low-end card every year (like moving from rx 570 to 5500xt to 6700xt if I can find one) or to go balls to the wall, splurge on an insane card, and keep it for 3,4,5 years? I currently have an RX 570 that fulfills my needs, I am thinking of upgrading in a year or two when prices stabilize. I don't need a very powerful GPU for gaming/my work. And for anyone wondering, I cannot upgrade my CPU. It uses LGA-2011 socket, I currently have two 8-core Xeon e5-2690 v2 cpus, and as my HP z620 workstation uses a proprietary motherboard, I'll keep using those CPUs for as long as the rest of the workstation lasts since they are quite powerful for rendering. I also can upgrade my RAM, but I don't need to.

Hello! I have an issue and I can't figure it out. I have a Dell OptiPlex PC with i7 10700 Intel UHD 630 graphics. 32GB Ram, Samsung NVMe 980 250GB. The PC was responsive (Windows UI animations was responsive) everything felt snappy. Yesterday I added a dedicated GPU Zotac 1650 4G GDDR6. I know this is not a very good graphics card, but it is my only option because I have a 260w PSU and I needed a GPU that doesn't need 6 pin power. Anyway, since I added the GPU the PC feels less snappy and responsive than before. Windows animations feels sluggish. I'm not an expert and not a gamer. I just need the PC for day-to-day regular use and very light video editing. Any idea what is wrong? And what should I do? I believe even though the dedicated GPU is not a good one, but at least it is supposed to be better than the integrated one! By the way, I downloaded the graphics drivers from Nvidia's website. And I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it again, but nothing has changed. I attached a screenshot from GPU-Z I appreciate any help figuring this out. Thank you! EDIT: I added screenshots from GPU-Z when the GPU is under load from Davinci Resolve

In the middle of a crypto boom and silicon shortage, AMD has announced a new graphics card. Is that really such a good idea right now?

This graphics card is coming up on 7 years old and heavily used. Model is a Gigabyte Windforce GTX 760 and randomly stopped working one night. At first only one fan was spinning and there was no display output, but after blowing some compressed air at it all 3 fans started to work, but at max speed and still no display output. I took it apart and didn't see any noticeable damage, and I even cleaned all the dust with some isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. I'm 99% sure it's dead and unrecoverable, but I wanted to ask people if there was any last resort options I could try to fix it. I really don't want to buy a new card with the prices of even a 1650 being in excess of $300 so any help is appreciated.

[Specs: Windows 10 Home OS, Intel Core i7-6700K CPU @ 4.00GHz, 16.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080, 2.72 TB HDD, 464 GB SSD] Hello everyone! So recently, I've had some worrying issues caused by a controller that I've been using on my computer for ages. It's this old, cheap USB Xbox 360 controller that has this red glowing setting. Anyways, I'd say about a week ago, I plugged the controller into my computer and heard a pop through the headphones I was wearing and noticed that the controller had not powered on. In fact, I noticed that my headphones as well powered off, and the front 4 USB ports were no longer working. I then was notified at the bottom right of my monitor that there was a power surge and that I should restart my computer. Well I continued down this path of restarting the computer and deleting and reinstalling the USB drivers, plugging in the controller again, power surge in USB port, everything shuts off, repeat. This went on for about 8 or 9 times before I finally realized that the problem is probably the controller. So I went out and bought a much better controller and the surging issue went away. However, I have a new problem now. Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I have been recently trying to 100% it, which is taking forever. So I started that up, loaded in, and realized that everything is way laggier than they ever were before. I got through the entire story with a smooth 60 FPS, with only a few dips down into the mid 50's. However, now when I go into towns or forests in particular, the game tends to drop down to 40's and 30's, with intense stuttering and a lot of visible popping in and spawning. So I opened up the task manager to see what was going on and I noticed that the CPU was at about 80% usage and the GPU was at about 4% usage. Now I know this may sound like a bottleneck, but keep in mind, I did not have any of these problems at all before the surge. I've tried reinstalling the GPU drivers, playing around with the NVIDIA Control Panel, verifying the integrity of the game files, resetting the computer and redownloading Windows, you name it, and there's still no solution to the issue. I’ve also noticed now that almost every other game has had a major loss in performance and visual quality, despite being set to the highest graphics in the settings. So at this point, I feel pretty confident that the issue is a hardware problem opposed to software. However, I don’t know exactly what I should go about replacing. Could it possibly be my mobo? Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hey, I've been looking into mini computer builds and while scouring the plethora of SBC computers and Nucs. The Mac mini is a powerhouse in terms of CPU, 3.0 GHz Intel "Core i7" (4578U) processor, and 16 GBLPDDR3 SDRAM Could one use an adapter to say 3.0 PCie X16 with the PCIE ssd port built into the motherboard? Thereby running a graphics card without the need of some external hub.

I have no idea which part of my build is giving me these graphical glitches... I've read online that when purple/green appears it's an indicator of a bad GPU...? My exhaust case fan on the back is spoilt so I manually spin it with a stick everytime I boot up my PC (thankfully it continues spinning after that) so could it be a case of GPU being thermally throttled? Here are some screenshots for reference. Since I bought my pre-built system from a vendor I can't RMA my GPU directly from the manufacturer, and my 3-year warranty with the vendor has expired. So after some digging, a hard to describe problem became an obvious problem of compatibility of old intel drivers with "modern" windows 10. The issue is that there is no compatible drivers for intel hd graphics 3000 for windows 10. And basically any newest or past version of drivers for that gpu that i used yield same results, it displays fine until you restart the pc. Then instead of a login screen you are welcomed by a black screen until sleep and wakeup which i would guess somehow refreshes the drivers or makes them reload or somehing. A fresh cold start is fine, the restart is whats the problem. Any ideas how to workaround incompatible drivers?

So I have been thinking this for a while and I can't find anything anywhere on the interwebs about any attempt of it. It recently occurred to me that at AMD, they have the ability to manufacture with such technologies and components so why not use the engineering capacity to manufacture an ATX motherboard with high-end graphics chips integrated into the board. I know the laptop motherboards that have solder connection is essentially the same thing but if the GPU chipset is connected directly via the motherboards PCIe lanes, however in similar circumstances to their sister companies Motherboard PCB being connected to the HD Audio, the simple removal of one or 2 16x PCIe slots and separating of the board in the same way, a chipset from the RX 6000 or 5000 series cards could essentially be made in direct connection to the PCIe lanes. Surely this would alleviate most latency issues and software issues. Understandably there would be some drawbacks such as narrowing the market, however, enthusiasts and hobbyist builders, I feel would be all over this like hotcakes. The potential abilities of custom cooling solutions, art piece machines, slimmer lined compact machines, and much more. I guess they would have to lock the boards based on CPU to GPU for example if the motherboard was fitted with an RX 6700 chipset, it would be restricted to Ryzen 5 3000 series and higher. This would also make for better overall machine efficiency, driver control ability, latency, data transfer speed between processing units, and much more. Pricey? Of course it would be, but worth it? Undoubtedly. What do you think?
