Will 2 Evga GeForce GTX 660 in SLI bottleneck with I7 3770k @3.5?

Hi guys, I was originally going to get a 7970 in July but then my order got cancelled due to low stock and then I became extremely busy with school work... now it's September and I still haven't bought my new graphics card. All my other new parts for my new rig have been sitting here for weeks At this point in time, do you guys think it would be a wiser idea to wait for the 9000 series to come out? My budget is $430-450 MAX so I will probably be getting something like a Radeon HD 9950 (does anyone know anything about its expected price?). I am currently using a GTX 460 1GB.

I was just wondering what everyone was thinking about the nvidia maxwell cards. I know AMD just released their volcano series but I was wondering if I should get them now or wait for maxwell. I know its a long wait but im in school and gaming is not a big deal right now. What are everyone's thoughts on this and does anyone know why nvidia released 2 new series within a year? I've only been in the computer scene for about a year and a half but it seems the 600 series and especially amd's 7000 series had a long run or am I wrong?

Ah, found some sweet pictures of the new lightning edition. (I think at computex they had it hiding under a box? I really don't remember but the new design looks amazing! I wonder how this is going to rival something like the HOF Galaxy 780 (that card alone in its name is awesome) Please nice feed back and discussion! And I ask, what would you like to see in the new lightning? Founded here on this facebook page:https://www.facebook.com/msiczech

I am looking into getting a new graphics card in the next couple of months, I play quite alot of game's mainly first person shooters and a couple other kinds. there is a £100 difference in the price of these cards, does the difference in performance make the difference in price okay? i am open to suggestions to other cards, but i am going to wait for the new AMD series of card before making a final decision.

Still being fairly new around here I'm not sure if its been asked and answered before, but I thought I'd go ahead and ask anyway. I'm currently running a monitor setup of 3 by 1 additional for skype/steam chat etc and in some of the more recent games to have been released I have been feeling my 690 starting to chug more and more.. and as more titles get released I feel like that gap will forever start to grow and I have always been one for wanting to run the games I play in there full glory.. So I ask should I bother upgrading my GTX 690 now with the current GPU lineup or maybe hold out that little bit longer for a GTX990? as I have tended to stayed for the duel GPU cards in the past, my last being the GTX590 or is that a bad habit to be getting into? and would going for two individual cards yield better results? Sorry, I know this is a bit of a loaded question but its been one I have been pondering for a while, Thanks in advance for any suggestions or pushes in the right direction.

This is my very first pc build so some help is very much appreciated. I'm looking for a stable to good graphics card. I have a 1000$ pc budget and here are the specs i have in mind so far. Specs: CPU: Intel core i5 4690K 3.5 GHz Motherboard: ASUS Z97-P LGA1150 RAM: 2x4GB G-Skill Ripjaws X HDD: WD caviar blue 1TB Case: Cooler Master HAF 922 PSU: Corsair CX-600m 80+ Bronze certified and an ODD Also can someone tell me if it's safe to go with a 600W PSU? Tx for the help

I intend to build a pc using Kaveri soon, and due to my budget, do not intend to buy a discreet graphics card until a few months after I build it (I intend to buy the parts around Sep. 20 and the graphics card around Christmas). And I was wondering if I would be able to do dual graphics with the AMD A10 7850K and the Nvidia 750 ti. Any feedback is appreciated, but I would like a definitive answer if possible.

Now I've been researching on this topic and nothing seems to give me a definite answer. Some places say that the R9 290X is 15% more powerful and other places say that it's only 7%. So which one is really worth it? The difference between these 2 graphics cards is 100euros. Also if someone could help me decide on the best and cheapest cooler that would be nice. Temperature and noise do not bother me, I just want to know how much is the performance difference and is the money worth the R9 290X

Hey Guys! Really wanted to start a thread on that rumor we heard a while ago and if there was any other rumors/truths about the speculated "3xx" Series, Heres a link to the "leaked" specs a while ago, rumored to be real but who knows, if they are than I'm really fucking excited haha http://wccftech.com/amd-pirate-islands-r9-300-series-bermuda-fiji-treasure-islands-xtx/

Hello guys, i can tell right off the bat that this is going to be a very controversial topic, however i was wondering which is better: the Geforce gtx 770 2GB or The r9 280X 3GB? my proccesor is the i7 4790K and i have 8gbs of ram. ignoring the price difference which is the overall better card?

So, I looked for the answer to my question in the forums before posting, so hopefully I didn't just miss it entirely, or it's just no here. Sorry if this has already been asked... I have been looking to update my system's GPU, from an XFX 5970 Black Edition Dual-GPU card, ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150460 ) to something a little more modern. Especially since I have really only recently been getting into BF, and BF4 is pretty beast, I want something to run it with Mantle, so I have been throwing around the idea of either one R9 290x from Gigabite, or 2 R9 270x cards (4GB models) from the same company. I know diminished returns will come up somewhere, but my question is this: will the two R9 270x cards in crossfire out-perform the singular 290x? And is it worth it? The price of 2 of the 270x cards together is less than a single 290x. Plus, who doesn't want 8GB of GDDR5 in there? Here are the pages for the cards I'm considering: R9 270x (X2) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125496&cm_re=270x_windforce-_-14-125-496-_-Product R9 290x http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125499&cm_re=290x_windforce-_-14-125-499-_-Product Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated, as long as it is constructive, please. If you want to know what system these will be going in, the info is in my signature below.

EDIT: almost forgot the SOURCE, im a bad person and i should feel bad EDIT 2: Post moved to GPUS i guess, thanks mods So with the latest drivers for both the red and the green team Hexus ran the numbers in 3dmark (honestly i would have liked to see ingame benches myself) for "up to date" benchmarks (we see release benchmarks reposed all the times, things evolve, i love new benchmarks) and graph isnt horribly surprising aside from the less expensive 290x squeaking by on top over the more expensive 780ti Then the fun part came, performance per dollar (run in fear all ye who are green!) (joking, settle down) unsurprisingly amd moped the floor in performance per dollar with the only thing even pretending to compete being the 750. The interesting part to me was the 290 actually being better price to performance then the celebrated 750ti, literally only 1 point off but still interesting. nothing horribly new aside from latest drives on both ends going head to head, but i found it interesting. I'll ask this doesnt turn into an amd/nivida fanboyfest but i know that's not happening. Also its not in game benches like i'd like it to be so take it with a grain of salt but even if you hate the ol red flag you can't ever say the price to performance wasnt awesome on that side of the fence.

Ok, here's the plan: I have a atx system (3570k, atx motherboard, 8gb of medium speed ram, single 660ti 2gb, 750 watt power supply, and 1 ssd and 3 hdd in raid 5 combo) and my future gaming prospects are to upgrade that system. I want to migrate most parts to a mini itx game streaming build. We'll talk about the mini itx later. What I really want to know is what would be a decent upgrade on a budget for the graphics and ram. I would like to migrate my 660ti and ram to the "steambox" and upgrade the streaming system. What do you think would be a good choice? Keep in mind that my ram and 660ti are blue and that will be the scheme for the steambox but I want the upgrades to the streaming system to have a red scheme. Thanks

Hello guys, i have a problem with my gpu and i need help. So the problem started when i was playing payday 2 my screen went black then i turned off my pc for 10 minutes in case something overheated. When i turned it back on it went as far as the welcoming screen and then blackness... I used my onboard gpu and everything seems to be ok. I tried a different card and everything was ok. I tried to figure out the problem by trying various stuff and when i switched pci port it worked and it required drivers so i downloaded them, installed them and then reboot. It did it again... So i tried windows repair and it kinda fixed it... i was able to boot (it didnt require drivers and the gpu was in the original pci port) and do stuff untill i tried to download something (nothing crazy just a browser download) and blackness all over again. I reainstalled windows 7 and installed the drivers for the card, rebooted and this time it didnt even reach the welcoming screen. I dont believe its the psu because i have a 600 watt psu and when im gaming the whole pc requires around 280 watts. My gpu is XFX HD 6850 Any help would be appreciated.

Hey LTT, i'm getting a graphics card soon for my rig. I've been debating between the EVGA GTX 750ti SC, or the MSI R9 270x ITX. I like the small design of both the cards, and the benefits i can see for both are: MSI R9 270x ITX Pros: - It is stronger than the 750ti! - Includes a cool dragon design and red strips (which would have to be painted blue, and probably void my warranty.) - Has a hybrid cooling design to reduce NOISE and HEAT, Radial and Axial on one card! - Mantle! GTX 750Ti Pros: - Consumes little power - Cheaper in price - Could in theory be painted with blue strips (also, sadly, would void my warranty) - Does not require a 6/8 pin connecter, no ugly chords; no bad cable management!! - Does not easily heat-up. - PhysX! I'm not sure on the noise for either of the cards, but i'd like my system to be dead silent.

Just a quick question: Can I run a Nvidia GTX 750 card on a 450watt Antec PSU? I have 4 hdd's as well. Nothing more, or less. Hope I asked in the right place.

Hello guys, I am building myself a new custom PC for gaming. My budget is only $975. I am going with AMD FX8230, 8GB DDR3 corsair vengeance RAM, cooler master hyper 212X aftermarket cooler, 550watts Corsair SMPS, 1TB WD hard-disk@7400RPM. When it comes to graphics cards I am limited only to $200. I am thinking of going with AMD Radeon 7770 with 1GB of memory. Is there really any difference that will benefit me if I go with 2GB?? Because I shall be changing the graphics card in the next 1 and a half to 2 years. So is there any benefit with going with 2GB????

Basically the title says it all. I see many videos of people with graphics cards like the gtx 780 ti kingpin or classified even though they aren't on the market yet. They already have pcs built with them. I'm pretty sure they didn't get it from evga for reviewing since many have little views and almost no reviewing(for the card). Like I can understand how Linus Tech Tips gets their hands on these cards. Thanks

Hi guys. I recently bought a 780Ti and started to OC to see how lucky i got. Went through some hoops till i learned how to do it right and found the highest stable OC. I ran furmark to make sure its was stable enough with the current OC (had a higher clock previously and finished a haven benchmark but it crashed several minutes later) and it ran for 10 minutes without crashing or any artifacts (i assume it is safe to say that if it was stable in furmark it will be during gaming) BUT i notice that even though memory clock was stable, temps were set to 70 (MSI afterburner) and the fans was at 45% (its on auto) the core started to throttle hard (like half of when i started) for some reason. Temps can't be the reason since there was still 55% left for the fan to go. The reading was confirmed in GPU-Z so it wasn't a furmark mistake. I know vram temps aren't monitored. Could it be that those were getting hot even though the core was at 70 degrees C with plenty of fan headroom? Wierder part is that even with the throttling the average fps wasn't dropping. Maybe both gpu-z and furmark were reading it wrong do to furmark stressing the card? EDIT: Small side question. Is the core frequency reader in Unigin Valley and Heaven benchmarks reliable? it was showing quite a bit more that the boost in gpu-z.
