After building a Xeon gamer for under 1000$ i got the idea to make a MONSTER machine with only used parts. The budget was max 3000$ and shut include everything from monitor to cables, so start with nothing. CPU 1 : Intel Xeon E5-2670v3 / 12 cores 24 Threads (read more) CPU 2 : Intel Xeon E5-2670v3 / 12 cores 24 Threads (read more) CPU Cooling : 2x Noctua NH-D15S GPU 1 : MSI GF GTX 970 Gaming 4GB (read more) GPU 2 : MSI GF GTX 970 Gaming 4GB (read more) Motherboard : Asus Z10PE D16 WS (read more) RAM : 32GB (4x8GB) HyperX Fury 2133MHz (read more) PSU : CORSAIR RM1000x 1000W PSU (read more) Case : Phanteks Enthoo Pro Window - Black (read more) SSD : 256GB Samsung 950 PRO M.2 PCIe SSD (read more) Monitor : Acer 27" LED Predator G-Sync XB270HUD (read more) Keyboard : Logitech G105 Gaming (read more) Other: - SLI Bridge (MSI bridge) - Displayport cable (2m.) Total used cost 2785$ inkl. vat, transport and tax. Where did i find it? - Ebay - DBA - Local hardware store The benchmark will start Tuesday! As the title suggests, I'm in the process of planning my new gaming rig. This time I'm downsizing to a mATX form factor. The plan is to have it fully watercooled, from the cpu to the gpu & maybe even the motherboard and ram if there's enough space (and if I can afford it of course). The case I've chosen (not bought yet) is the Xigmatek Aquila due to its design, size & features. Seeing as the motherboard is horizontal in this case, the aesthetics aren't hugely important but still would prefer as little colour on the board as possible. Speaking of motherboards, I'm not sure whether to go for x99 or Z170 as if I'm honest I'm not sure on the difference between them? I'm currently swaying towards the Asus Maxiumus VIII Gene Z170 As for RAM, I'm not entirely sure on this area but I'd like 8GB minimum, with the ability to upgrade to more in the future & fill up all DIMM slots Again, CPU i'm not sure about but it'll have to be Skylake of course. For the GPU, until I upgrade later down the line, I'll be rocking my good ol' Gigabyte GTX770 but I plan on upgrading to a 980Ti (watercooled). My budget is around £1,000 but obviously I want to save as much money as possible. All unmentioned components in this post will be re-used from my current system or I know what I'm doing for them. So, feedback on this plan is welcome Feel free to suggest better parts & ideas on what I could do differently!

Hi y'all, Matti6005 here!!!! I've been wondering how would you set up a "2 Gamers 1 CPU" setup like linus did with his "7 Gamers 2 CPU's".... I remember him saying that he used virtual machines but I don't know how he made the keyboards and mice go to each individual vm?!?!?! please help!! I would have a guess that I need a good pc in order to do so, I have a Beast Mudatrucka of a PC so I guess it can handle it here are the specs: Asus x99 Pro i7 5820k clocked to 4GHz 32GB 1866Hz Ram 2x GTX 980Ti 5TB Memory 480GB SSD Intel 730 series Corsair HX1200i PSU Corsair H100i GTX A.I.O 2X Asus PB287Q 28" 4K monitors (p.s. I don't expect them to run in 4k) Thanks!

I need to know a good LED Kit (something that includes everything I will need to get them working), for my desk setup. I have my computer and monitor on my desk, so I just wanted to make everything a little bit brighter during the night. Since I'm English, Amazon would be preferred (5050 RGB Lights would be good, since I've heard they are brighter) Thanks! -Croum

On YouTube I have an option to monetize my videos, that is what I want to do but I am also part of a Network. I will post gaming content that I record, so I thought that I should leave the monetization option on YouTube and instead the Network I'm in will monetize the videos for me? I have no idea how this works, if you are a YouTuber please give me some help and advice Thanks -Croum

I have around $1000 - $1400 AUD, What are the best pc parts I can buy? Also, where can I get them cheap? I live in Victoria, Australia

What is on your desk and why? Is it something that you thought looked cool? Or is it something that increased your productivity in work or performance whilst gaming. I would like to know what you have on your desk, where you got it from (e.g website, boot-sale, etc. etc) and how it helps you in your day-to-day lifestyle. Also pictures would be pretty cool -Croum

Hi there, I just found a cool mobo and I wanted to put a pentium k on it (to oc of course) but then I ran in to a problem, I can't find evidence that this mobo supports the pentium K oc... I am still a bit new to this so could you please tell me if it does support oc for pentium K and maybe tell me how you found it please? Thanx Shenkie the mobo is the Asus B85M-Gamer (not the pro gamer or the b85m-g (c2) ) https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/B85MGAMER/overview/

Alright, I want to pick something that I can hopefully use with everything now. I hate having like twenty different usernames that I don't care too much about and just thought of on the spot. Maybe you guys can help? So far I have two that I like: autonEmi emiry Probably thinking way too much into this, but whatevs. I like the above because they relate to my name (Emi/Emily). If someone wants to help me out and think of something better, feel free! Thanks

Hi, I just bought csgo and I played 1 match but I didnt even get to finish it and got kicked out do to a connection lost. Then, every time I try to join it queues me for a match and then (when I think im supposed to join) it says "the matchmaking has failed: unable to join match" or something like that. Ive already tried de DEM method. Ive verified the integrity and re-installed the game. I can play like 3/4 of a match if I restart, verify the integrity, launch and the play, but it kicks me eventually and wont let me join any other match. How do I fix this? THx, advanced.

I'm in the process of completing my setup, when I've finished I want to add lots of small things like cool lights or gadgets to make my room and setup look better. I'm going to add a few LED light strips to my desk and various other areas to make the room more vibrant. I will be editing videos/gaming on my computer, so any tools that can assist said things. So, I need you're suggestions for gadgets or things I could add to my room and setup to make it look better or be more productive, Thanks! -Croum. if you're going to suggest sites can you make sure they ship to England? And not for tonnes of money

Hello everyone! I am 17 years old and have been following LMG for a couple of years, and just joined the forum. I bought a $500 typical 12 year old kid PC 5 years ago from Best Buy (HP). I started making YouTube videos ever since, and mainly used the computer to play WoW and then to record my Xbox Gaming. 5 years later at 17, I want something that can render videos without risking of my computer sounding like it's going into hyperspeed, can play most games at medium-high settings (I'm not interested in maxing out in 4k or anything), and can support streaming PC games (which I know will be more intensive than the following), and streaming/recording my Xbox gameplay as before. Budget: $600-$800 (Looking to build/purchase around March-ish, before College) Location: Ohio, United States of America Preferred Retailer?: There is a Microcenter in a nearby town, but ordering online is fine. Number of monitors: Currently 2, probably will expand to 3. Watercooling: I would need to learn how to go about maintenance, but willing to learn! OS: Currently Windows 10, would like to go with that once again. FPS Outlook: Smooth 60ish FPS at Medium-High Settings in WOW, CS, COD. Would like to be able to run other games such as Tomb Raider, Arma etc. as well (perhaps at lower settings if needed). Software: I use Sony Vegas and sometimes After Effects for videos, as well as OBS for Recording/Streaming. I render/record/stream at 720p 60fps currently. I don't need monitors, headsets, keyboard, mouse etc. I think I have included good spec information, but let me know if there is something you wish to know!

Hi there! I am brand new to the forum and after an initial search for a similar discussion, I couldn't find anything so let me start: are you a disabled person in any way or personally know a disabled person who is a tech enthusiast and/or a gamer? If yes, do you have any tips and tricks for other people who may be suffering from similar difficulties? Any software, hardware or other work-arounds that let you enjoy old games and newer AAA titles? I, personally, have been suffering from a severe visual impairment for 14 years now (legally blind for the win) and I have still been playing games for roughly the same time (N.B. I didn’t go blind because I have been gaming so much… au contraire, I should be playing games at least 2 hours per day <<yay science!!>>) – I can share if this topic gets any interest whatsoever.

Alright guys so I've been doing a little bit of research for the past couple of weeks on diy pc building and I'm really interested in it. I've always been interested in building one, just never had the time or the money. I was wandering if anyone could give me an idea of how good the computer components I have been looking are and whether or not they are compatible. I would also appreciate it if anyone could give me an estimation on how efficient these components will be for gaming. I will be playing games like team fortress 2, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 so It would really help if anyone could tell me if the components I have chosen will be up to par for these games. Here are the components. Components: Rosewill Computer Case - CHALLENGER - ATX Mid Tower - Black, Gaming - Three Included Fans - Two Extra Side Fans Supported GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 6.0) AM3+ AMD 760G + SB710 USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5 GHz (4.1 GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W FD6300WMHKBOX Desktop Processor EVGA GeForce GTX 750Ti SC 2GB GDDR5 Graphics Card 02G-P4-3753-KR HyperX FURY 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Memory Model HX316C10FB/8 WD Blue 1TB Desktop Hard Disk Drive - 7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache 3.5 Inch - WD10EZEX - OEM Standard Return Policy EVGA 100-W1-500-KR 500W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Continuous Power Supply Intel 4th Gen CPU Ready I'm obviously on a budget and I'm trying not to break the bank. If anyone can give me some advice I would greatly appreciate it. -greaser561

My old GT, or current one at least, is SuperableMist55. I recently was allowed to change my prefix to Night, like my clan leaders. Although my old tag was a default one, they liked the "mist" part of it which makes me want to keep it. Does NightMistCPW sound somewhat stupid at all or should I stick with it? Any suggestions?

How do I tell if my computer is working? My CPU Cooler fans are working and on, so that is working. My GPU fans are spinning, so that is working. But I can't tell if my: CPU, RAM, HDD and SSD is working. I turned on my computer and all the fans are spinning except the case fans. I tried connecting a molex to the Fan Hub, but it wouldn't go in properly. When I turned on my monitor and connected it to my GPU using a Display Port cable it said 'No Signal', how do I fix this problem? Should I turn on my computer and leave it for a bit, or should it work straight away. Is there a sure way to tell if I've shorted any parts (Do they make a noise or is it just like a small shock will run through my finger). I was grounded for most of it, and the parts I weren't I wasn't handling any parts that could be shorted. Please help, Thank You EDIT: Thank you everyone for your help, but I got it working, thanks again!

So I wanted to get into CS:GO, I have the basics of it but cant start playing until Christmas (thankfully not that far away), I understand the shooting system and all of the physics but there was a few things I wanted to know. First of all; what are the best cases to start off with? I like the look of the Karambit and Flip Knife the most, so what cases should I buy to try and get those? (I know they're rare). What cases did you start with, and what ones do you think would be most beneficial to a noob player. Can someone send me a link or explain to me what skins and knifes you get in what case? (Sending a link would probably be easiest). Also, how much are keys? If you have anymore tips that you think would be useful to me then please let me know, as I want to try and get out of Silver ASAP... Thank you for reading -Croum

Hello people, this is my first post and it is just a quick question. How do I connect my HD Ready TV to my PC? I have an HDMI cable that can go into the PC and TV, but when I try to switch my TV to the HDMI input it just says 'NO SIGNAL', I have a 'BUSH HD Ready LCD TV', and I have tried all of the tutorials online and I have no idea why it doesn't work... Please help, thank you!

Ok, my 2012 Astro A40s have taken a shit, and I need to find a headset (or set of headphones) to replace them. I'll try to sort information well to make it easy to read... Why I'm considering dropping Astro: I previously bought the dark grey 2015 edition Astro A40 headset + mixamp, and it was TERRIBLE; mostly because of the noise gate, which I learned is in all post-2012 mixamps. Because of that, combined with the fact that the seller said it was a black 2014 edition, I returned the thing. (Audio quality also seemed kind of muffled.) I COULD buy the new PC edition black 2015 A40s to use with my 2012 mixamp, but I figured I'd see what you guys have to say, first. Click here to hear my Astro 2015 edition A40 + 2015 mixamp audio test Click here to hear me use the 2012 A40s + 2012 mixamp (Much better, IMO) (You may have heard A40s sounding worse than either of these samples. That's because the gain on these things is WAY too high. It can be fixed by turning the mic volume down in Windows. My 2012s are at 3% in that second video. THREE FREAKIN PERCENT! They're still not amazing, but they can be tamed with proper precautions.) Here is a diagram of my entire audio setup. I'll list what I like and dislike about it below. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to get myself back in ship shape again! Pros: VOICE MONITOR - This is the biggest one. The Astro mixamp lets me hear my own voice lag-free, and balance it against the game volume. This is absolutely indispensable, and I will continue using the Astro mixamp, even with a non-Astro headset, unless I find another setup that provides me with voice monitor. Even when I record with my Yeti, I often monitor myself with my boom mic. Open-ear design - I frequently play games with my friends in the room, and I like being able to talk to them without removing my headset. Not to mention the fact that I like the "larger sound stage" open headphones provide. I never have children around, and parties don't really happen in my building, so noise cancellation is not a high priority. TV optical out - Any audio I send to my TV is rerouted to my mixamp via optical cable. I can change between my PC and my consoles effortlessly, and it just works. I can even see (but not hear) my second monitor when I change TV signal to my console, which is perfect for recording console games. (Though, I don't know if this affects my audio quality any noticeable amount. I should test that more...) Ergonomics & swiveling ear cups - I wear these things for nearly 8 hours every day: when consuming media, gaming, recording, chatting on Teamspeak, whatever. Comfort is a must. Swiveling ear cups aren't absolutely required, but it's an aesthetic I absolutely adore. Detachable mic - I dislike mics that mute when flipped up. I'd rather just unplug the mic myself, or use an inline mute/mute key. This isn't hugely important, but I like being able to just unplug the mic, and I never have to wonder if the automatic mute switch has, or will ever break. Cons: A40 mic quality isn't perfect, and Yeti peaks - I love the quality the Yeti grants me. Unfortunately, when I play scary games, or competitive games like Counter-Strike that cause me to raise my voice, the mic sometimes peaks. I know there's no perfect solution to this, but I feel like there has to be SOME affordable hardware that will give me clarity while resisting audio distortion. No mic monitor for Yeti - This is one of my biggest cons. I'd like a setup that allows me to monitor my condenser mic. I've been thinking about "downgrading" to the wired A40 mixamp, and running the "monitor headphones" jack of the Yeti into the MP3 port of the mixamp with an AUX cable. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- Conclusion/questions: That's all I can think of for now. I'll edit in more details if I think of them. So, in short, which headset/headphones will match as many of these pros as possible, while having better audio quality than the A40s? I don't really have a fixation with "gamer swag" styles gear. A minimalist aesthetic is more than acceptable, if I get the performance I want. Also, I've heard that switching to a mixing board will accommodate my mic monitor needs, while allowing me to limit my condenser mic's audio to reduce peaking. However, I know nothing about that kind of stuff. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Current candidates: Sennheiser HD 558 Ruled out: Any headsets by Audio Technica (Assuming they have that incomplete headband design. Not really a fan of that.) Any USB headphones (They usually make mic monitor impossible, and limit the control I have over my audio setup.) --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- EDIT: Here's a potential setup I'm currently toying with. Feel free to offer critiques or suggestions.

Hey guys, I've been building my first rig lately, and I have a Corsair RM750 PSU in a Phantom 530, the problem is the screws that came with the case don't fit in the holes of the PSU .... I'm stuck with this for a couple a days, and I don't know what to do ... Anyone have/had the same problems ? Any help is appreciated
