Budget (including currency): About €1000,- Country: Netherlands Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Somewhat newer gaming. Other details The old case might be recyclable, but if a new one would fit in the budget that would be amazing. So my friend from work is looking to build her first computer (herself). Amazing! She made a list herself and is wondering if I could help her. My first addition would be a cpu cooler lol, but any changes you guys would make with about 150 euro more to spend? I was watched the first video of Labs recently and Luke mentioned the Verified Actual Gamer Program. I haven’t heard anything about this since the crypto boom, and was wondering if it still exists.

What's the strangest/weakest item for sale, which you've seen marketed as "Gamer"? I'll advance this, which I just found while searching for chopsticks. Also, $3.00, plus $3.81 shipping. So, no red flags there. "Wearable Gamer Chopsticks, 3D Printed Finger Chop Sticks for Snacking" etsy.com/listing/1427339235/wearable-gamer-chopsticks-3d-printed

Hi everyone, this is my first post on the forums. I basically signed up for this specifically as I thought this community might be the best to help me out with some advice. I have build a couple of gaming PCs in the past and for the most part was happy with my choices but I am by no means an expert and since this is going to be my most expensive setup (by far) yet I would really appreciate your feedback and any suggestions for which parts I should include in my setup. Budget (including currency): 3.500 - 4.000 EUR Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games, Games, Games - purpose of this PC will be mainly for gaming and some very light office app usage from time to time but 99% gaming for new and upcoming games such as: Total War Warhammer III, Elden Ring, Dying Light 2 and so on. Current Rig CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 1700 @3.4 Ghz Motherboard - MSI X370 Gaming Pro RAM - 16GB RAM GPU - KFA2 GTX 1080 EXOC Case - Fractal Design Define S Reasoning and Goal: The reason why I want to build something new is mainly because my 1080 seems to be slowly breaking down. There is various troubleshooting that I have done and I am still doing, no need to further elaborate on that end. Let's just say that I feel like I am reaching the limit of my current setup and I am planning to gift my current PC to my younger brother and move on to something newer and more powerful. I am aware that it might not be the best timing as everything is overpriced at the moment especially GPUs but I don't want to wait and I do have the pocket change at the moment to afford it. My goal is that I want to build a solid future proof gaming rig that I hopefully won't have to touch for the next 2-3 years at least. I am not obsessed with 4k gaming or super ultra mega maxed graphics settings. I am quite content when the games look good, run and load smoothly at 1080p or better in 1440p (with maxed details at that resolution however) and do not drop in FPS. There are 3 parts that I was thinking of including or building around but like I said if for some reason there should be a part that is better suited for my needs then I am happy to go with that one instead. Baseline setup: CPU - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X roughly 500 EUR Motherboard - MSI MEG X570 Unify (based on review scores and price as well as compatibility with the chosen CPU) roughly 300 EUR GPU - RX 6900 XT roughly 1.500 EUR That would potentially leave me with 1.200 to 1.700 Euros of budget for the rest of the setup. Although I believe PSU, RAM and SSD should very easily be affordable for less than 1k. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any help y'all.

Hi new guy here, I finally got some parts and I'm slowly starting to build it. Some random questions. I can provide pics if needed. I have a computer desk that is metal with a glass top. Is it possible to use it to build on top of while using a anti static strap. I don't have a mat available. I am currently building on a hardwood floor grounded to a power supply plugged into an outlet but it's so uncomfortable. I'm new to M.2 drives and there's a pack of screws that came with the motherboard, I'm guessing those are what I used to secure the drives to the board? I don't see any stand offs or anything. My motherboard is a asus rog strix b550-f gaming My m.2 is WD black sn750 gen 3 . 500gb and a 1Tb Airflow questions, I have an MSI Aio and a corsair icue 220t. I'm thinking about attaching the rad to the top of the case and putting fans under it. Is that the best for airflow? Watching several videos about thermal paste. It looks like the line mentod is the best to use right?

Hi Guys! I have been running into some issues with my gaming rig. While playing New World i'm getting around 30-40FPS in towns and 60-70FPS in less populated areas medium settings at 1440P. Ive attached all my specs below from a UserBenchmark test. I know New World is a brand new game but other people with the same specs as myself are getting much higher performance. Its also not only New World Ive noticed i get far less performance in other games than people with the same specs such as Warzone, Cold War, Halo Infinite beta, Gears 5 etc. I also ran 2 tests on userbenchmark one without G sync and one with G sync and the difference in performance is incredible. I'm getting to the point of wanting to wipe my entire PC and start from scratch. Does anyone have any ideas on why my system is not performing to its potential? Hi, I'm looking to buy a laptop for college with a max budget of 2k. I was thinking about just buying the new mac laptop but I know I could get more bang for my buck. I will use the laptop for school work, gaming, and video editing. I don't want it to look 'gamery' with rgb and stuff like that. Any recommendations? Thanks so much.

First off, the specs. Asus RTX 3060 Ryzen 5 5600x Samsung 970 Evo SSD 1TB Unknown John Doe Hard-drive 2TB 2×8 Corsair Vengeance Pro ddr4 On a Rog Strix B550-F Gaming board Right, so I can start up the computer fine and watch YouTube, Hulu or Hbo max fine. I can only play siege (R6) in training mode. The board will crash if I launch Apex Legends. A little red light abruptly comes on and the restart process begins. We originally thought it was because my old pre-built had an illegitimate version of windows that he stole from our school. But I've bought my own product key now, implemented that annnnnd it still crashes...i honestly dont what to do and i miss streaming with the bois, can anyone please help?

IPv6 supposedly removes all classic NAT related problems regarding port forwarding. I already have it for quite some time, so do I still need to port forwarding/UPnP for online gaming? Or games aren't using it already because a more global implementation is needed?

Budget (including currency): 3700 USD (including monitor, excluding other peripherals) Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games: Anno 1800, CoD, LOL | Photo edditing: Ligntroom, Luminar, big backup for photos in RAID Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello internet strangers! I'm assembling my first custom build (which I intend to start doing by the beginning of 2021) and would like to share my thought process for both receiving improvements suggestions and helping whoever is also trying to define their own build. I would love to hear your thoughts on the parts I'm selecting - do you see any compatibility issue, any individual performance concern, anything you would rather buy a cheaper version with a similar result, ... I'll walk you through my rationale and needs, but if you want to jump straight ahead to the list itself, here it is. The complete part's list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JLdycT [ ~$3700] for PC + Monitor [ ~$1500] for Miscellaneous Rationale: - I want to future proof myself by buying good parts since I'm (a) building from scratch and (b) I'll build while I'll be in the US and after a few years I'll have to move - i.e. future hardware upgrades would be way costlier. - I'm a gamer (no shit Sherlock), meaning: I need a good graphics card; DRAMS with good speed and low CAS (low latency after all); A good CPU (love to play Anno). - I'm a photographer (it's a hobby that I take seriously) and I love to post-process heavy raw images later on, meaning: I need a good amount of memory space and also a proper backup (in raid) - cloud could get really expensive when you have 5TB+ ; I need a fair amount of DRAM memory, 32GB will set me back, but since I don't edit videos (usually), 128GB seems unnecessary; A good processor. Since I don't render digital images or 3d models I shouldn't need an $800+ threadripper CPU, though. Parts discussion: [$550] CPU: Since I need a combination of CPU performance and gaming, at a fair price, I decided to go with AMD. Given the latest news, I believe the 5900x should be available by January, and would future proof myself offering great performance, so that's my pick: https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-9-5900x [$300] Motherboard: I need a motherboard with good power delivery (amount of phases and its quality) since I will be overclocking the 5900x and likely the DRAMs; Future-proofing is important to me, so I wanted PCIe gen 4 connections and an x570 chipset; I intend to use at least 6 SATA ports, so that's a boundary as well (well, not quite... I could expand my # of SATA with a PCI-e SATA adaptor, but that could constrain my RAID capabilities in addition to adding cost and complexity); I wanted at least one USB 3.2 gen 2 connector - Will make my life easier when transferring photos from my camera; I don't care for RGB, actually I rather not to have it (sorry RGB folks); I may be constrained on internet cables where I will be living, so I want a WIfi-capable MOBO - with good bandwidth to allow for proper gaming. With all that I decided to go with the one that is cheaper at the time among these two: - https://pcpartpicker.com/product/GcfFf7/asus-rog-crosshair-viii-hero-wi-fi-atx-am4-motherboard-rog-crosshair-viii-hero-wi-fi - https://pcpartpicker.com/product/CLkgXL/asus-rog-strix-x570-e-gaming-atx-am4-motherboard-rog-strix-x570-e-gaming [$150] CPU cooling: I'm using and overclocking a very strong CPU so a no-stock cooler is a must. Since the pc may eventually have to travel, I was inclined not to use an Air cooler (A NH-D15 would be quite heavy, putting tension on the MOBO in the travel). Also, the big and potent air coolers have a narrow RAM clearance (32mm for NH-D15) which would restrict me on the RAMs -- I'll be using 4 DRAMS, more on that later. So, for a non-RGB guy, looking for performance and price, and for an AIO water cooler, that's what I plan on going for: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/JfVG3C/nzxt-kraken-x63-9817-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-rl-krx63-01 [$300] RAM: As I mentioned in my needs, I needed to go for 64GB+. Also, I wanted a good CAS and frequency (something over 3400 Mhz and less than 18CL). Also, I decided to go with 4 sticks rather than 2 for three reasons: Price; 4x16 usually outperforms 2x32 in gaming I don't believe I will need to add more memory at least in the next 7-8 years, so I'm fine with not having spare RAM slots Once again, I don't care for RGB and at that point I decided to go for a white-themed PC, so I decided to go with 2 sets of these 2x16 memories: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/9y848d/crucial-ballistix-32-gb-2-x-16-gb-ddr4-3600-memory-bl2k16g36c16u4w [$907, yes I know...] Storage: Again, I have two big needs: fast access storage and a huge capacity for backups. [$162] Fast access: I went for the EVO 970 1TB (for the operational system, games, and editing programs). I feel that the 980 is way overpriced for the additional performance, while the difference from the EVO970 to other 1TB NVMe options is bearable - Actually, I'm not 100% sure of it, I may change for a cheaper NVMe... what do you think? https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Zxw7YJ/samsung-970-evo-plus-1-tb-m2-2280-nvme-solid-state-drive-mz-v7s1t0bam [$351] Daily usage storage (mainly my photos and files): I decided to get a mix of performance and cheap storage: 2x 2TB WD Blue SSDS in RAID 0 configuration - I know these WD blues do not have great speeds, but I think having them in RAID 0 and using for photo and other files should be enough. The total 4TB is a must though, I need ( 3TB+) https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Mtprxr/western-digital-0-25-2000000rpm-internal-hard-drive-wds200t2b0a [$392] Backup: I wanted to go for something with a virtual memory of 8TB+ and with RAID (not raid 0). Originally, I thought of having 3 HDDs in RAID 5, but my MOBO doesn't support the RAID 5 setup. Thus, I decided on a 4HDD Raid 10 setup (which is supported by the MOBO). With that, having 5400RPM HDDs is more than enough (remember, backup), since the RAID 10 would also speed them up. Even being in RAID I didn't want to go very cheap and compromise on reliability, so I decided to go with 4x 6TB WD Blue (in RAID 10), rather than the cheaper barracudas (which have a higher Annual Fail Rate) https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Z2HRsY/western-digital-blue-6-tb-35-5400rpm-internal-hard-drive-wd60ezaz [$700] GPU: I think this one was a no-brainer for me. I want a very good GPU for gaming and future-proofing. However, I won't be playing on 45" 4K monitors, so I decided to go with the RTX 3080, and for aesthetics and benchmark results I chose the Founders edition: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/RnDkcf/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3080-10-gb-founders-edition-video-card-9001g1332530000 [~$150] Case: I had a few preferences here: Mid-tower (Having a full tower could be annoying when moving in a couple of years); Good ventilation is a must, low noise levels are preferred; At least 4x 3.5" bays without having the HDD showing between the MOBO and front panel; White color preferred; USB 3.2 gen 2 in the front. With all of that, I decided to go with the https://pcpartpicker.com/product/bnzkcf/phanteks-eclipse-p600s-atx-mid-tower-case-ph-ec600pstg_wt01 I love its aesthetics, the fact that it supports 3x140mm fans in the front, 3x140 in the top, and 1x140 in the back, and checks my other boxes. It also performed very well in benchmarks for acoustics and cooling capabilities. In addition, love the fact that all my storage would be properly hidden behind the MOBO shield or beside the PSU. [$205] PSU: My bare minimum is a 750W due to the RTX3080, but that being said, I wanted to future proof myself and go two steps more (+200W) thinking of upgrading after ~5-6 years without having to change the PSU - these things last an eternity. Not to mention that having a few Watts more would allow me to overclock without a heavy conscience and would put me in a good point in the PSU efficiency curve. Also, I don't believe I'd ever been SLIing, so no need for humongous Wattages here...In addition to that, I went for strong brands and 80+ gold at least. Looking at the prices I chose https://pcpartpicker.com/product/nQJkcf/corsair-hx-platinum-1000w-80-platinum-certified-fully-modular-atx-power-supply-cp-9020139-na which right now is $205 so I think it's a very good price. If its price increases, I would go for the 1200 W version which is $250. [$92] Case cooling: These were my guidelines: All 140mm fans (allow for better noise levels, which was one of the factors for picking the case); I wanted some white light coming from them in the upper-back part of the case; Having the sum of inflow CFMs being higher than the outflow CFMs sum. The case comes with 3x140mm non-led and non-PWM (3pin) fans. I intend to leave them all in the front, however, I saw that they are not very strong/efficient -- unfortunately, I found very little data for them. Would love if some could provide numbers on them. With that, I decided put the radiator (280mm) on the front in a push-pull config, while having one of the 140mm slots with only the stock fanThat would allow me to have 5 inlet fans in the front, but with a non-extraordinary individual performance. To balance it I decided to have 3x140mm in the rear/top of the case, having decided to go with the https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ycH48d/corsair-co-9050046-ww-970-cfm-140mm-fan-co-9050046-ww With that, I would have 3 strong outlet fans vs 5 average inlet fans, which certainly would give me a very good airflow in terms of displaced volume, and hopefully a positive pressure environment. In addition, it would complete my white but sober build. Also, I didn't want to put any outlet fans in the top-front position of the case since I believe it actually acts against the cooling efficiency (exhausting cool air before it refrigerates anything). [$300] Monitor: I'm still thinking a lot about this one. I'm already a little over budget so I didn't want to spend too much, that being said, my minimum specs from what I think would suit me (and I could be very wrong here, so please comment on that) are: 144Hz+ 2K+ 27"+ Low response time G-sync With all of that, I found this, which seems to be a very good cost-benefit: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/LFRzK8/acer-xv272u-pbmiiprzx-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-xv272u-pbmiiprzx In addition to all of these main parts, I also picked some smaller ones, but I don't think it's worth mentioning. For the full list of parts, please visit: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/JLdycT My main open questions: - Should I save money on my main NVMe using a $100 Crucial P5 or so? - Do you have data on the Phanteks stock fans? - Is 27" too small for gaming? I also think that going too big would make me have to move my head a lot while gaming, so wouldn't be ideal, but maybe a 32" would be a better sweet-spot? Would you have any specific monitor suggestions around this price range? Comments are very well appreciated! Hope I also help someone with their thought process. Best

Hey guys, been a while since I came back on here asking for some help on things. So, as the title suggests I am looking for a quiet keyboard(as quiet as possible) but I am also a gamer so I would like it if there was RGB involved as well. Searching around is a nightmare because you have a huge amount of misinformation floating about so hopefully someone here can help me out. I am not very well informed on what switches or brands to look for so information is highly appreciated. Budget is $250 as I really don't mind spending a bit on one of the items I use the most considering I do computer work as well as gaming together. I need something that's going to last so I would assume Double Shot PBT keycaps would be preferred as well.

Hey beautiful people, So I have a friend who suffers from Muscular dystrophy, a disease in which your muscles and bones degenerate over time. He is 28 years old, weighs 90kg and has not stepped out of his apartment house for over 12 years (since his apartment does not have an elevator and his parents are too old to lift him around). If the pandemic has taught me anything, then its that life is short and you need to see the world when you can. He is a beautiful person, tech enthusiast and a heavy gamer and I want to do this for him I want to build him a powered chair and I want your help with what kind of motor I should choose. A normal industrial-grade DC motor (the e-bike motors) won't do because it just is too fast and even if I slow it down with a gear assembly, its low torque makes it dangerous for him to control because of low handling (he has brittle bones too). So I need something with a high torque, like a servo motor, which my friend can control very precisely. Speed is not a goal here. Safe mobility is. But a servo motor is not continuous in its rotation but I would very much like something with as much control as that. So can you people please help me out in choosing an appropriate motor(s)? Experienced members can even tell me its wattage, and other technical specs. I'm a mechanical engineer, I will understand Please note: I am an excellent fabricator (I can definitely build something swanky that supports his weight and still look cool) with intermediate level of expertise when it comes to electronics and control systems using basic computers such as arduino and raspberry pi. So please do not hold back if you have got in-depth ideas. Many might be thinking - there are ready to use power chairs out there, why not go for it? Reason is - we're in Mumbai (India) and they're just not available here. Import duty alone will be 5x the product itself and the pandemic makes nothing easier. Also, there's something fun about DIY projects so there's that too haha (same reason why we love building PCs when you can buy an pre-built Origin or NZXT eh? ). Down the line, after this basic problem is tackled, I plan to slap some RGB underglow and what not on this as well haha, I shall be posting the progress pictures if the community is interested Thanks people :)

Hi everyone, I am new to these forums and I hope you can help me and advise me .. I want to upgrade my gamer PC which is already obsolete (phenom 2 x4 965BE 16GB) ... currently I only have 1000 dollars to do this renovation, where I just want to change board, CPU and memory. In the course of 6 months or before I plan to invest another 1000 in the GPU maybe an RTX 2070 or 2080 .. .. but in the meantime my dilemma is that it is the best thing I can buy now (board, CPU and RAM) with these 1000 dollars .. for now I think I can handle the 8GB RX480 that I already have. I am thinking of a core i7 10700x ($ 400), 32GB ram 2 * 16 3200 ($ 150 approx), this means that I have 450 dollars to invest in board and cooling ... and this is where my big dilemma is .. I am not interested in GRB lighting, I want quality and performance ... what do you recommend ??? Thank you.

This has been a problem for a while now and i have tried almost everything. I changed my graphics card, upgraded my cpu to a ryzen 9, and i use hyper x fury 2x8 2666hz. I've closed all programs and background as well and it still closes. And tempetures are from 58C to 63C. I need to know how to fix this before it destroys my pc. And the most weird thing is it only happens with games and no other program. For now i haven't been playin that much but when i do it either crashes or simply closes. I really need help you guys. Hi everyone, I'm a novice PC builder and I am looking to build a rig that can handle games at 4K on a 50-65" screen at 60fps, hence the 2080 Ti. I would like to swap out parts as much as possible instead of building a whole new computer as new parts come out, but if you see areas where you could help me cut costs, or could recommend improvements for my needs, please do suggest them. I also can't decide on a case for the build so suggest away. Please remember the prices are in CAD not USD. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/7znbV7 Thanks!

Hi All, I need feedback on the following build, main purpose will be for Graphic design/Media content and light/medium gaming, So i have a specific budget and this is what I am setting my sights on right now: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) - X570 will allow me to upgrade this in the future CPU wise and GPU if needed) Cooling: Prisme which comes with AMD CPU ( if you want to suggest another please do - budget can go up to Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO) Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 2x16GB DDR4 3600Mhz CL17 SSD: Samsung 970 PRO M.2 MZ-V7P1T0 1TB SSD >>> (I need it to be as fast as possible for content creation/design) Graphic card*: Gigabyte GTX 1660 SUPER GAMING OC 6GB GDDR6 HDMI 3xDP <<<>>> Sapphire Radeon RX 5600 XT PULSE 6GB OC GDDR6 HDMI 3xDP * PSU**: Asus ROG-STRIX 650W GOLD ROG-STRIX-650G - this is the one a can get or maybe i can try and get Corsair 750W 80+ Gold RM750x/ 650W - need advise here too as going with Corsair will be good for my budget. Case: Asus TUF Gaming GT501 Mid Tower OR Corsair ICUE 220T RGB Airflow Tempered Glass Mid Tower ATX (corsair is cheaper than the ASUS) * this is the issue, in my budget I can go to 1660 Super or i can extend it a little and go for the RX 5600 XT but i hear there are some issues now with AMD graphics Driver - Can you advise here as going for the 2060 super is above the budget) **PSU: I can also get Antec High Current Gamer 850W 80+ Gold HCG850 Extreme which is cheaper than the ASUS and same price as the Corsair. Please help me decide which are the best parts for my specific needs and build, if you have suggestion to change some parts please let me know. Adding my budget and location - Location: Israel - parts are not that cheap and there is a wide range of prices and parts here Budget: around 1800$ (converting from local currency) Again i am open for any suggestion and I provided some of the alternatives I can afford/change if you can suggest any for the same price range (nevermind USA or EU prices) Than it will help a lot. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ***Updating current build follow suggestion below:*** AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6Ghz AM4 stock cooling Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) AM4 EVGA RTX 2060 SUPER XC GAMING 8GB GDDR6 HDMI 3xDP USB Type-C -** Corsair Force MP600 PCIe NVMe M.2 2280 1TB SSD M.2 2280 Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x16GB DDR4 3600MHz CL18 Asus ROG-STRIX 650W GOLD ROG-STRIX-650G CoolerMaster MasterBox MB530P ATX Mid Tower Black Case **If i change it to lower cards like 1660 TI/SUPER or 5600XT will be cheaper by 100$+ - should I ?
