Some of you guys might remember me Basically i just bought a new G.Skill TridentZ RGB (Hynix version). Some people told me that the stick might have some trouble with Asus Aura. My fool ass decided to ignore that and use it with Aura 1.04.43 which just came out 1 week ago (somehow in my brain, i thought the issue should has to be solved) Now the damn thing wont light up. What the hell asus???? What is happening with my RAM?? What should i do? Heeellp!
-
So, Aura recently been updated to 1.04.43 Quoted from Asus Support page: Is the G.Skill RGB/Aura SPD Corruption problem finally solved with this? Can anyone confirm this? And Can any Corsair Vengeance RGB users confirm that Aura now support your RAM? If so, i might change my RAM to Vengeance RGB Cheers, MR

Hi all, I have an ASRock X370 Gaming K4 and G.Skill Trident-Z 3200 MHz CL14 RAM. Whole system: AMD Ryzen R5 1600 X || Scythe Mugen 5 || AsRock X370 Gaming K4 || PowerColor RX580 Red Devil || G.Skill Trident-Z 3200 C14 || Samsung 960 EVO M2 NVMe || Corsair RM550x At first. I installed the pair of 8GB G.Skill Trident-Z 3200 MHz CL14 and got a long line of error codes, halting at 0d. Boot loop, no screen. Error code is 3E (then some numbers: 14 15 17; all very fast, so I'm not 100% sure) F9 C0 d0 0d. "0d" stays until restart. These RAM should be the same as the Flare-X by G.Skill (Samsung B-Dies) and thus designed for AM4 systems. However, they seem to be incompatible, at least at the moment. Even the latest BIOS (2.50 w/ AGESA 1006!) does not get them to run. Trying a Voltage of 1.35 does not help. Increasing the timings does not work. DDR_SoC voltage fixed to 1.2 V doesn't solve it either... I even tried "overwriting" the XMP settings of the G.Skills. To no effect. I bought the cheapest RAM on the "officially supported RAM list" (in this case: crucial 2133 MHz CL15 at 1.2 V) and it works! Could even put in one of the G.Skills with it so at least I have 16 GB of RAM (at 2133MHz CL 15, crucial is DR, G.Skill SR). The G.Skill RAM was manufactured in March 2017 and called F4-3200C14D-16GTZ (two modules of 8GB). When individually combined with the 2133 MHz crucial stick they both work on 2133 MHz. The crucial stick works fine up to 2667 MHz when used by itself. Whenever I try to increase MHz (starting at 2400 MHz, not 3200), errors occur, system won't POST. So I can not enter BIOS. Putting 3 modules on the MB --> error, no pOST It's my first build in eight years so I had to be expecting some difficulties... ? Now, I welcome all of you to give me some input/suggestions. Thank you very much!

Going to buy some ram tomorrow Saw this 2 kits from g.skill F4-3200C14d-16gtz F4-3200C16d-16gtz But the second one is about 50$(400hkd) cheaper than the first one. They r both ddr4, 16GB, 3200MHz What's the difference between them?

Hello, as the title days I have a problem when my windows 10-64bit is booting. I upgraded my RAM last week and since then I have sometimes just a black screen and no booting at all, and some times an error with internal storage "\\?\". I do not know the exact message anymore. After this message at the MSI loading screen it's booting. After the black screen nothing happens and I have to restart the system again. Can someone tell me what I did wrong with my RAM? I just plugged it in and run it. Do I have to install it somehow? The RAM I bought is just the same that I had inside. I just upgraded it from 8 GB to 16GB. Thank you in advance.

So, a couple weeks ago i bought a G.Skill keyboard for the dekstop PC i made just a couple days ago. I wanted to use it on my laptop so i could get used to the feel of the keyboard and stuff before using it with my desktop. I installed the software and drivers for it on my laptop and everything was good. I'm pretty impressed with this keyboard, honestly. Great build quality and everything. However, yesterday i installed the RGB software on my desktop computer. After that, whenever i used the volume slider the RGB would flicker annoyingly. I uninstalled the RGB software and the drivers then reinstalled them and kept the RGB software uninstalled. The volume slider issue went away, but now i noticed that if i hold down the caps lock key it flickers violently. TL;DR RGB keyboard is having issues, what do? Keyboard on Newegg EDIT: I just realized that there is a forum for troubleshooting. Oops, I'm sorry if i put this in the wrong place :c EDIT2: Oh, it might be worth noting that the keyboard works fine on my laptop. It's probably a driver issue of some sort?

Hello, I am in the process of picking ram for a build. This will be my first build so excuse my ignorance and incorrect terminology. My current parts are Ryzen 3700x with an asrock x570 taichi. I have been doing a bit of research on ryzen zen 2 and ram. I was looking at following amd's price/perf recommendation of 3600 mghz cl16. I have my eyes set on some G.skill trident Z neo 3600 Mhz ram 4x8gb. The G.skill ram I am looking at hasHynix J chip However, I have read that ryzen does well with the samsung B-die. Does the chip make any difference for performance if they are both on the QVL? https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/X570 Taichi/#MemoryMS

I'm falling down a rabbit hole of RAM options. Right now I have an intel CPU but I will be upgrading to a Ryzen 5 3600 soon so I need to take RAM into consideration. I'm looking at 2 sets in particular: G.Skill TridentZ 4x 8gb 3600 CAS 19 $189 (sale) G.Skill TridentZ 2x 16gb 3200 CAS 16 $169 (sale) I know Ryzen likes 3600 better, but considering I'll be running in dual channel, I wonder if I'll take a performance hit with 4 sticks as opposed to 2. I'll be getting a Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite if that matters. My use case leans more towards video editing/rendering than gaming, so I also wonder if having a CAS of 19 even matters for hyperthreaded workloads. I can probably tighten the timings of the 3600 RAM, but with 4 sticks it might be more difficult. Plus I read that it puts strain on the memory controller? I can't really find any information on this besides people saying it on forums. Then again, x4 RGB vs x2 RGB.. XD Please help... my brain hurts >_<

Hi All, I am planning a build with following parts Msi B450 Tomahawk AMD Ryzen 5 3600 My concern is the RAM Every online retailer in India including Amazon, Vedant Computers, MD Computers, PrimeABGB, etc. has this RAM listed- G.Skill RipJaws VF4-3200C16S-8GVKB But this model doesn't even exist on G.Skill Website and also this isn't listed in the motherboard memory compatibility list of B450 Tomahawk. Please help will this work or not? Same case is with 2 other RAM sticks from ADATA and Corsair their model number also don't exist on their website. I need total 16 gigs 3200 MHz, I can't go for a dual channel kit coz that's much expensive to buy as compared to 2 such (above mentioned) sticks. I think the S here stands for Single Channel because those kits mention D. and that thing exists even on the mobo ram compatibility list. Thankyou

Hello everyone. I've recently bought this combo: MB: ASUS Prime X470-PRO CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2600X RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z RGB (F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX) That particular memory kit is on Asus QVL list and should run at 3600MHz yet it won't run faster than 2800MHz. I managed to pull off 3000MHz with LOWER than initial timings (16-36) but no luck from there on. Any suggestions?

Motherboard: Gigabyte ga z97x-sli lga 1150 Ram: g.skill ripjaws x series 16 gb (2x8) ddr3 1866 Processor: Intell Core i7 4790k I might want to sell my old computer in the future, but I have an issue with the ram where i might not beable to sell all of the machine. The ram only works in the 1 and 2 slot positions instead of 1 and 3 like normal modern pc's. I don't know how dual channel or single channel ram works I've tried all other combinations and even tried putting 4 of the same modules in. I was wondering if that's a thing with the type of motherboard I have, is it a setting I need to configure, or is something wrong with the ram slots or bent cpu pins?

I have a 32gb set of 4(8gb each) Ram sticks from G.skillz. Memory Model F4-3200C16Q-32GVK I've had ram boot problems with my x99 Gigabyte Ultra Gaming rev 1.0 Motherboard for 2 years. I followed the memory module input slots from the manual. Basically my computer will run stable with 8gb of Ram, But once i get the Windows to run either 16gb 24gb or 32gb. My computer instantly power shuts down. I have a water cooler and i watch the temps off everything (ram, cpu, gpu and my psu is not hot at all) I have a 850 eva that i tested on another pc and it works. My cpu is 45c when the power is lost, and my gpu is 50c when the power is lost. I have to run my Ram sticks at 1.35v or my mobo won't even boot into windows. The mhz cant be more than 2800mhz or it won't boot even at 1.35volts. Yes i tried all types of volts and mhz. The ram sticks get ot about 41c, im not sure if thats too high or what. Every stick of Ram works when its single. Like i said, if i have 2 or more sticks installed, the PC with run for 10 mins before i have to unplug them to run it again. Yes, this set of Ram sticks is on the QVL for the Mobo. Has anyone had this type of problem before?

Hello! I'm going to keep this short, if someone could provide insight that would be great. I have a ASUS WS PRO x570-Ace and G.Skill Trident Z CL16 3466mhz ram (Single) 64GB ram, running a Ryzen 9 3900x A handfull of times the sytem would run 3466mhz cl16, then just refuse to boot with it and resort to 2100 standard. The XMP settings doesn't work (3466) Manual setting the XMP settings does not work (3466) Dram Calculator full manual settings (including voltage, bus clock, cpu et) does not work. (3466) XMP sttings done manuall works to 3200mhz with cl22. Dram calculator full manual brings me 3200mhz cl 16 with decent timings. Either the startup fails 3 times goes into safe mode, or completely black screen. BSOD once when only voltage was bumped to 1.4v on the XMP settings. Ram-tests shows modules works as intended. Question: is there a compability issue with my ram sticks and the motherboard= is there a chance that they are not working correctly? They are single and not dual. Is this a problem populating all ram slots? Is there settings I'm for sure is missing in the bios Why won't the System / CPU / MB accept anything above 3200mhz? If anyone has ANY insight on this. Maybe you have the board yourselve? Please help a fellow out.

Hello there, I bought 1 stick of each, and I found out that the dual channel won't work as well as the timmings are not the same. Yet I haven't had any issues with the memory, and was able to bring it to 2400mh from 2133mh. 4gb Ram - https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-2400c15s-4gis 15-15-15-35 (2400mh) 8gb Ram - https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-2400c17s-8gis 17-17-17-39 (2400mh) I am trying to fix this/work around it if possible and some advice would be much appreciated. Q: If I bought 2 more 4gb ram of the same specs (https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_1326&item_id=092276) would I be able to run all 4 channels properly despite the memory size and latency of the 8gb? or Q: Should I buy the same 8gb ram (https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-8gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232599) and end my misery? Q: Would a quad channel of 4gb ram with smaller latency be more efficient & effective than a dual channel 8gb ram with higher latency? Open to any advice/suggestions. Setup: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 (clocked at 3.85) GPU: GTX 1060 3gb SCOC MB: Asus Prime B450M-A/CSM AM4 RAM: 8gb & 4gb G.Skill Aegis 2400mh (<- who TF does that) Cooling: AIO water cooler SSD: 250gb SATA: 2TB 7200rpm

I have tried several things and I don't know what to do. I can't even get into the BIOS because the board won't get pass the orange dram light on the board. I thought it was my RAM so I got some new RAM (Trident Z Neo 3600 16x2GB). They light up fine but the board sits there on the orange light and does nothing. I have no idea what to do. Please help.

I got a G.Skill KM780R MX keyboard (the non-RGB version, though it still has red lights), and there's a few problems with the software: It's incredibly slow and nothing saves (I'm sure it does but it takes longer than 10 minutess, 'cause that's the longest I'm willing to wait). It never stops loading. There's some sort of problem with the lighting tab. In the software manual on page 28, there's a picture of what the UI in said tab should look like: the keyboard, with options for whole-keyboard effect lighting and background lighting. I don't have the background lighting tab, and therefore can't set single-key lighting. This is a bit of a problem for me because part of the reason I got this keyboard is that it's supposed to be able to do that. I was going to light different keys for different games (e.g. osu, FPS games, etc.). It looks like they dodged the question in their FAQ. The question was "Why can't I change lighting or program a specific key on my keyboard", to which they just said something along the lines of "make sure you have the latest software and firmware installed" (which I do). Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello, Last time I bought a PC was my 11in Alienware Laptop back in 2009 or so. I don't know much about building a PC...was gonna go with a PC Builder like Maingear of Falcon Northwest but figure building it myself...I can get better parts of the same money. I started researching online..found Linus (I'm from Vancity), JayTwoCents, Bitwit, HardwareCanucks...the Verge ?... Building a PC doesn't seem too difficult...I have friends that have built pc's before and youtube how to's. I have enjoyed DYI recently on other tasks I have done. I don't really care about cost. I plan to game, watch movies, render videos for a possible YouTube channel I'm thinking about doing...plus all the other normal stuff. I'm not interested in AIO or liquid cooling...I prefer fan only. I would like it to be as quiet as possible, have good thermals, preferably power efficient when idle, when doing normal tasks, when rendering, and then whatever load happens when gaming at max settings. This is what I've researched and intend to purchase...I've definitely learned a lot the last couple of weeks. I also am open to AMD Ryzen...so this might change if I go with Ryzen. If you have a Ryzen build with flagship parts like best mobo...please let me know. I didn't look into Ryzen but read a new chip is coming out soon. The parts: Case: Lian-Li PC-O11 Dynamic (Black) CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K 8 core Heat Sink: Noctua NH-U12A Case Fans: Noctua NF-A12x25 120mm 4-pin PWM fans (probably like 9 fans...3 side, 3 bottom, 2 top and 1 back...I'll configure it for good airflow) Motherboard: MSI MEG Z390 GODLIKE RAM: 32gb (2x16) G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 MHz. (doesn't have to be RGB) GPU: EVGA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra Gaming 11 GB GDDR6 Hard drive: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 Internal SSD Storage: Samsung 860 Pro V-Nand 1TB SSD SATA SSD Power Supply (PSU): EVGA Supernova 750 G3, 80 plus gold Monitor: Dell Alienware 1900R 34.1 curved monitor. Must be G-Sync tho. Keyboard: Corsair K95 RGB Platinum Mouse: Steelseries Rival 600 Gaming Mouse ---------- Anyway...I would really appreciate any comments...if there are problems with the parts or compatibility issues. I don't plan to buy in a month or two. Also, if any of the hardware have issues...quality issues, etc...please let me know. Some areas I think could be different are the power supply...not sure how much power I need...I used online calculator. Also the M.2 drive...I could go with 512 GB...using it mainly for operating system, video editing, and storing important files like documents. The 2.5 SSD for games and general storage. Thanks...I really appreciate any input. Toasted_Oats ------------ PS. I went to PC Part Picker and had this "Compatibility Note" (curious if that is a concern or what it means...does that mean if I were to buy three M.2 SSDs, I cannot have three 2.5 SSDs in exchange?) The motherboard M.2 slot #1 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled. The motherboard M.2 slot #2 shares bandwidth with a SATA 6.0 Gb/s port. When the M.2 slot is populated, one SATA 6.0 Gb/s port is disabled. The motherboard M.2 slot #3 shares bandwidth with SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports. When the M.2 slot is populated with a PCIe-based M.2 drive, two SATA 6.0 Gb/s ports are disabled. -----------
