Recently I went from a single 4k (60hz) monitor to adding a 1440p (75hz) and after that a 1440p (144hz) (both hdr) all hooked up to an RTX 3070ti (also have an i7 11700K. This hasn't been the smoothest experience however. I have had issues where on startup my screen flickers and then works like normal. Some games caused my 75hz monitor to flicker at random intervals of around 5 minutes. I thought I had fixed this issue by fully removing and reinstalling my graphics drivers but some issues still retained. When I plugged in my 144hz monitor for some reason my desktop icons got shuffled around too and while this is my last concern it does add up and bother me. Recently I got an issue with games changing my monitor settings and this feels like the final straw to ask for help. When starting minecraft for example the game just sets my monitor to 60hz from 144hz and also changes the color profile from rgb to YCbCr422 and from there I cannot change it back to the normal settings. The only options I have after that are 60 and 120 hz and the color profile resets itself when I set it to rgb. It's also worth mentioning that the screen flickering comes back when a change in refresh rate is made I should also mention that when hooking up my first 1440p monitor I accidentally put in my motherboard's hdmi connection because I wasn't thinking about it. This caused issues where my integrated gpu seemed to get in the way of my dedicated gpu when starting certain games, this issue seems to be fixed by simply not using it and rebooting my pc. I know multiple monitors can also cause issues but it's still worth a try to ask because I feel like none of this should happen if I could only manage to fix these issues. Sorry for the poorly written out summary of issues that I'm having/experienced but is there some fix I can make to make my monitors more "stable" or am I simply forced to unplug my 60hz monitor. I have tried reinstalling drivers like mentioned before but it barely seemed to help. Thanks in advance.

I was downloading Apex Legends from Steam. It was 79% when I paused downloading last night. This morning when I opened Steam and pressed resume it was back to 0%. The same thing has happened before with other games too. I'm running Windows 11. Can anyone tell me why this is happening and how to fix this problem?

Not to long ago I bought a cyber power pc which I should’ve never done but for the price it was good. I’ve been having this issue when I’m playing games or just my pc trying to load something, my display will end up going black but my pc stays on. The cpu cooler fans and even the gpu. My friends have been saying my psu is the problem. Which my power supply is 600w but my pc only has a i5 and a 2060. At first I believed it was the high temps but my cpu stay around at 60c and my gpu around 67. If anyone might know the problem please let me know

my gf has her Xfinity modem/router in her downstairs living room and she lives on the second floor, her mom doesn't want an Ethernet cord going all the way from the living room to her room so what ive done is put one of those wifi extenders with an Ethernet port on the bottom and plugged it in at the bottom of her stairs a room away from her modem/router i ran it all the way upstairs into her room into a second wifi router (for wireless vr which works great but thats just her local connection) then from the router to her pc, and let me tell you her connection sucks, her connection is constantly fluctuating and her discord freezes constantly probably every 20 min, idk what wifi plan her mom uses but im wondering what i can buy to improve this whole situation, i was thinking about those 200 dollar Xfinity mesh network extenders and run 2 of them from the living room to her room but idk if that'll help

As far as I know, one can replace a GPU that's soldered to the motherboard, and reballing is essentially that. What happens, however, if I try to desolder a laptop's CPU and replace it by another one with the same socket? For instance, imagine I have a laptop that has an i3-6006U processor, which has a FCBGA1356 socket. If I happen to have found another laptop with an i7-8650U, which uses that same socket, would I be able to exchange them (assuming that the resoldering of the terminals has been done correctly)? Or would I most likely encounter issues with other hardwares? As far as I know, this does not happen in desktop hardware, so it possibly would not affect the laptop version.

Hi there. I've just built a new desktop pc, but I don't think the GPU is working correctly. I'm using the ASUS RTX 3060 TUF 12GB V2 graphics card with a ASUS TUF Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 motherboard. To give you some backstory. The GPU is outputting video, but I can't find the component listed in my bios settings. The RGB components on the GPU also don't light up. When I first installed windows 10 the GPU wasn't showing in the task manager until the drivers automatically updated a few minutes latter. I've used ASUS Aurora Sync to try get the GPU RGB working, it can see the component but it never lights up. I've also updated my motherboard bios to the latest version, but to no avail. Any general thoughts on how to fix this card? Otherwise I'm thinking of returning it. ~Thanks in advance.

Hello everybody, so this problem happened about a week ago and laid my hands off my PC so I won't damage something. Then my SSD showed out of nowhere in Tuesday this week and I thought the problem was solved, but it was not. I plugged out my SSD and tried blowing the M.2 slot on my MB Because I thought dust made it's way into the socket but it did not. Then I tried it with a blow hair drier and that did not work as well. I would appreciate some help and thank You in forward!

So, my PC is acting weird and I can't figure out what's the problem. Sometimes it just doesn't turn on but RAM rgb and keyboard lights up. Sometimes it turns on but gets stuck on BIOS splash screen. A couple of days ago it was not turning on at all so I removed the graphics card and it turned on but kept rebooting without going into windows. Also my screen sometimes go black and fans ramp-up to full but restarting fixes it I tried DDU didnt fix, though it hasn't happened for the last couple of days. At first I thought my GPU was shorted but it turns on and works fine most of the time, sometimes the PC decides not to turn on at all, so I am having second thoughts. Please Help. P.S GPU isn't overheating max it goes to is like 76c. Specs: Ryzen 5 2500. GIGABYTE B450M Motherboard. 16 GB 3000mhz RAM. EVGA FTW GTX 1070. Thermaltake Smart Series 750 Watts. (I know shit PSU kinda hoping its the PSU thats the problem and not the GPU.)

Hello, I am currently fixing a laptop for a friend and I need help diagnosing the issue with it. The laptop was dropped on it's corner and now the screen does not work. The laptop works perfectly fine (the laptop works normally when an external monitor is plugged in), except for the screen. What's odd is that there is not physical damages on the motherboard or the screen so I could use help on determining what I need to replace. In the photo of the motherboard, it is the bottom left corner that got hit when the laptop dropped. Here is some info of the laptop HP Laptop 15-dy1028ca Product Number : 7YZ69UA Thanks for the help.

Hi I'll try to keep it short aand with as much information as possible. If you need mire info let me know. Windows 10 prox64 Pc crashes in windows logo screen. I have tried to reset/roll back but I cant beause I forgot my password because I have been using a pin instead. I've been trying to fix it with bootable usb but anything I try to do is stoped by my NVMe m.2 970 EVO plus 1tb been "read only". I've tried to remove it through a USB boot windows installer and opening cmd but cand do it I've tried using Attribute Changer 10.0 but doesn't work either. I've read that its because of the "hiberfile" created after a shutdown. The thing is that to remove it I need to fully shut down the PC wich I can't because I dont have acces to it. Is there any way I can remove the "read only" from my Nvme without having to format and reinstall windows?

I had no idea what the motherboard standoffs were for and I screwed the motherboard right onto the case and ran it for a bit. I quickly found out that this was a terrible thing and I removed it and put it back on with the standoffs. I also wasn't too good at handling the motherboard. The computer is still running just fine. The motherboard isn't bent or anything, actually, it looks fine. I'm a little scared though. Have I avoided a disaster or could something bad happen down the line? Should I just replace my motherboard or am I good?

My power button led is not working, it works on startup but once it boots on Windows it stops working. I think this might be because of my prebuilt standoffs since I have a prebuilt HP Pavilion A6000 series PC. I don't want to fry another motherboard.

This feature of drag and dropping files to task bar is removed from windows 11. People are really frustrated by this and it has been around 6 months since windows 11 has released. And there is still response or anything from MS about re adding this feature. LMG is the only platform that i think can raise this issue and be heard by MS. -A frustrated Windows11 user who can't go back to windows10 because will have to reconfigure entire laptop again

Alright so other than the title, this is a new issue, it popped up maybe 1-2 days ago, and just about no fixes have worked, (regedits, windows updates, defragging drives, disabling superfetch, ETC), how do I fix this? EDIT1: Forgot to mention, normally, i'd get only 6gb of ram in use while idle.

Hey guys, bought a aero 15 with 4k display 4 month ago. And today I accidentally closed the lid with my ID inside and the screen cracked. I doubt that it is warranty covered so where can I buy a new screen? I would blame the design a bit, because screen breaking just because of such a thin object is king of crazy to me.

Hello im new to this form and a long time LTT follower. Today a little story about some gpu trouble i had. So im specialized in buying second hand for cheap and reselling it in a pc with everything like new. I found a seller for an asus rx 570 4gb. He sold it me for cheap(80 euro in dollars close to 90 i think). Now the story, So i combined it in a pc with the following components: ryzen 1600, msi b350, 8gb ran, a little ssd of 120gb, 1tb and a corsair cx500. Also an old sharkoon case with yeah a dvd reader/writer. When time to test the system it worked fine. But i got random artifacts. These were pretty frequent and wouldn't always crash the gpu. After a while the system could recover without a restart. The following video will show what i mean What did i try: restarting changing the psu reinstalling the drivers reinstalling windows chaning the power limit, clocks on the card use the gpu in another system(this weirdly didnt gave me any artifacts) So after that information i knew it had to be something with the gpu drivers. I saw a post somewhere that these amd gpus had a one point problems with drivers crashing. Reinstalling did nothing, i knew that the person i bought it froim said that he got it from a miner and changed the bios on the gpu. But apparantly there were still some problems(idk maybe a bit flip or just a wrong bios that just worked). So i got to study how to change the bios for a gpu, readed a lot on https://www.techpowerup.com/. Learned to save the old gpu driver with gpu-z(VERY IMPORTANT) and uploading a new driver. After doing that this problem went away. I did lots of tests to confirm this(gaming and stress tests). So fellow pc builders/technicians, when you are out of options this could maybe be a fix for your old (maybe broken) gpu. Also i told the guy i bought it from and showed him what problem i got, and he told me he would take the card if i couldn't find the problem, friendly guy Hope you guys like the little story!

Hello everyone! Some days ago I recieved a PC from a colleague and he said that it suddently stopped working and he asked me to try to fix it. The PC turns on, but there is no output display , although the display works fine. The fan spins very fast but then slows down. First I thought it was the RAM, but if it were the RAM the motherboard would have beeped, right? (And I tried turning it on with no RAM and still no beeps or lights) So I thought it was the PSU, so I tested it in another computer and it booted normally, so the PSU isn't the problem. Therefore it could only be the mobo or the CPU. I changed the CMOS battery (and cleared the CMOS and the RTC RAM), still nothing. I removed everyting from the case and just connected the CPU, the fan, the PSU and the RAM and still nothing. I tried to look out for a bent CPU pin, a burnt capacitor or something like that, and once more nothing. He says that he can buy a new motherboard or CPU but he doesn't have the budget for both (and I wouldn't like to tell him to buy something that is already working). Any suggestions of what could be the issue? Here are the PC specs (also this is a prebuild PC): Processor: Intel Core i3-4170 3.7 GHz Dual-Core Processor RAM: Kingston 4 GB DDR3 (1x4GB) ROM: SSD Crucial MX500 1TB (he bought recently) Graphics: Graphics HD Intel® 4400, 2GB Motherboard: ASUS H81M-P Power Supply: Gold (300 W)

Soo, I was messing around in the bios and I noticed my dram frequency was pretty low. So I bumped it up to the memory frequency thinking that was the memory frequency menu. I clicked save and now my system won't post. My Memory frequency is 3600 mhz so I'm guessing dram is that times 2 so yeah I don't what to do now

Hi I want to know if there is something where I could for example connect a usb or something from the motherboard to a different computer and use an app to diagnose it? Or something that’s compatible with laptops and desktops to find errors with components and stuff? -Thanks
