Ok here’s the problem. I have a gigabyte z790 ud motherboard, 2 16gb Corsair vengeance and a rTX 4070 ti. My ram is out in slots 2-4. I go to icue to change the rgb but it shows that the slot 4 dram is the only ram. I checked bois and it sees both. I try but the 2 slot dram to slot 1 and after 3 but whenever I do my gpu won’t display. I put it back into slot 2 and it works but once again not being seen by icue. Please help

Hi I am looking at amazon uk at the moment and have found a "Crucial P3 1TB M.2 PCIe Gen3 NVMe Internal SSD - Up to 3500MB/s - CT1000P3SSD8" for £43.79 I have also found a Kioxia EXCERIA NVMe SSD 1TB PCIe/NVMe 1.3 Gen3x4 2100 MB/s M.2 for £43.98. I know that the rated speed of the Crucial is faster than the Kioxia, but I also saw online that the Kioxia has DRAM which the Crucial does not and some folks have suggested that it is the better buy as a result and that the difference in speed is minimal due to the DRAM prescence. Just wondering what folks thoughts and advice are? Many Thanks

Hi there, would be nice to see an "Updated Version of the now 5-year-old Youtube Video "What Are DRAM-less SSDs?" from the channel " Techquickie", especially on the Topic on SLC Cache. Because a lot of manufacturers now sell them "With SLC Cache now", while leaving out the Dram Cache. (also on NVME M.2 SSDs) And I think "many" don't know what SLC Cache is, and maybe they think, that it resembles a conventional Dram Cache. Another Idea for the Video, if you could talk about "3D Nand", and SLC, MLC, TLC, QLC, and PLC would be nice. (even though you already talked about some of those in another Video.) But all in one in an updated version could be nice I guess.

Hello, I am sure this has been asnwered before but, I am using 4x SK hynix 8gb 1rx8 PC4-2933Y-RD1... in a PC that I am building - nb. this is my first build. The DRam light is on and my monitor does not turn on. is it that the Ram is incompatible with my motherboard or the fact that the BIOS is not up to date. If this is the case please could you instruct me on what to do next? I am using the ROG STRIX b550-f mb with an AMD RYZEN 5500 Thanks

I just bought two more sticks of Corsair Vengeance PRO SL memory. The set I had previously was the exact same as this one, except black instead of white. Both sets are 2x8gb, pc4-25600, 3200mhz, with timings of 16-20-20-38. Even went the extra mile to turn off xmp before installing the new dimms. I entered the bios just to check everything stayed consistent, but noticed the new memory has Samsung as the DRAM MFG ID, whereas the old ram lists Micron. Was wondering if this may cause any issues, or just what this means to begin with. 70224638287__1EE67439-3E0C-4CC3-9E84-54154CD4B903.MOV

I am looking to get a SSD for my system. The main use case will be next gen gaming. Now I am basically on the fence between these 2. 1. Samsung 980 500GB ( No DRAM HBM supported, Samsung Pablo Controller, Read Speed (Max.):3100MB/s, Write Speed (Max.) : 2600MB/s, Random Read IOPS : 400000 IOPS. Random Write IOPS 470000 IOPS) 2. Transcend 220S 512GB M.2 2280 PCIe SSD ( it has DRAM, SMI SM2262EN controller, Read Speed (Max.) :3500MB/s, Write Speed (Max.) 2800MB/s, Random Read IOPS Up to 210,000,Random Write IOPS Up to 310,000) Now, I know DRAM is a huge deal. But samsung is getting much better IOPS than Transcend without the DRAM and almost the same speed with better price. so anyone using any of them please let me know which will be the better option. Thanks Pc specs: R5 3600X 16GB 2400MHZ RAM RTX 3050 (And no, My mother board does not support PCIe Gen 4 or higher speed RAM)

Hi! I would appreciate some help in a recently built pc for office use. After I completed the build there is no display, nothing... Build: - Motherboard: Asus Prime H610M-K D4 - CPU: Intel 13th gen 13100 - RAM: 16GB 3200MHz, Corsair Vengeance LPX CL16 (CMK16GX4M2E3200C16 - PSU: Seasonic 550w The things that I tried: -restarting PC - changing HDMI cables - triing different monitors - changing the RAM slots, triing with only one stick or two but in different places -Checked the ASUS site for the RAM and it is supported. The QLED core says its DRAM. Can someone help me with some ideas what could go wrong or what to do, before sending it back to the retailer. Thank you, Boren

Hi, I have Asus rog strix z790-e gaming wifi motherboard and my booting time is approx 40 seconds. I have only Intel i7 13700k, 2x32GB DDR5 RAM at 5600MHz with XMP I enabled and one Samsung 980 Pro 1TB NVMe disk. I don't use dedicated GPU, don't use any usb, wifi and bluetooth disabled on motherboard, booting option in bios is set to fast boot - set everything to boot as fast as posible. It seems that the RAM is training every time I start the PC. When I disable XMP it boot much faster. So I thing the problem is training the memory. On XMP I enabled the RAM process mem test at 100% with no error. Any solution how to speed up the booting time? Also wondering what is the Training Profile under DRAM timing options in BIOS? There are three options, Auto (default), Standard profile, Asus user profile.

I just build my computer and everything is detected. I have b660 ASUS DDR4 motherboard, and I'm not sure if the ram is working properly. The ram is DDR4 3600 CL18. When it scans the ram it defaulted to 3600 (correct), but in information in "EZ Mode" it says 2133 MHz and under DRAM Status it says both sticks are 2400. I'm not sure if something is wrong or not, but if something is what can I do.

specs, intel 11700f corsair hx750 psu 4x 8gb 2666mhz kingston fury ram nvidia 1660ti (going to be upgraded to a 3070) msi 590z pro wifi motherboard some 512gb m.2 ssd i took old main computer was a alienware aurours a11, i have taken the cpu from the computer and got more components to make a better pc that cna be upgraded further down the line, issue the current problem i have is that the orange dram light keeps flashing back and forth with a red cpu light, it does this a couple times, then switches to a solid orange dram light. different ram sticks in different slots seem to change the behaviour of the the flashing, as two work in the furtheset slot without any red cpu light, one works in the third slot and the other has a constant cycle of the two lights. i have resettled the cpu many times, the cpu is clean on the contact pads , i have cleaned the ram with no change to outcome. i have litterally zero clue what the issue could be as i have looked at loads of youtube videos and formus with no change on the outcome, if anyone has any suggestions that would help

Hello everyone, I'm having quite the challenge getting these two new computers to work properly. For the my computer, I had it working completely fine until I started troubleshooting my Wife's builds RAM. The other RAM would not overclock to the rated speeds so I chucked into my PC to see if the RAM was the issue but my PC wouldn't even boot the other RAM. So I pulled it and put my RAM back in. Now I can't get any video signal and the VGA QLed is always lit and sometimes the BOOT QLed is always lit sometimes. I've reflashed the BioS with and without the graphics card, cleared the CMOS with and without the graphics card, moved around the DP cable, only thing I haven't done is reseat the CPU as it worked fine before (was using it without my old 980 for a bit). Am I missing something? Is there anything else I can do? Here is the parts list: Asus ROG Strix Z690-G Intel i5 13600k Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 5600mhz C36 2TB Samsung 980 Pro SSD EVGA GeForce GTX 980 (temporary until I can snag new graphics cards) Corsair RM1000e Power Supply EK D-RGB 360 aio For the other PC I can't determine which the faulty part is. I cannot boot with XMP and I always get the DRAM QLed when I reboot the PC. I felt like I was missing a setting when enabling XMP so I chucked it into my PC however, as mentioned before, my PC wouldn't even boot with them not matter what; clearing CMOS, Safe Boot, ect. The CPU overclocks just fine so I felt that maybe it was definitely the RAM, however, when I put in the RAM from my build it also will not boot with XMP enabled even though I know it works on my PC. So maybe the motherboard? or CPU? I have no idea. However, when I returned the RAM from troubleshooting on My PC I can boot up just fine at 4800 mhz and an overclocked CPU and back into Windows just not at the rated 5200 mhz speed. So what's the problem here? I'm at my wits end lol. Here is my Wifes build: Asus Prime z690-A Intel i5 13600k Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR5 5200mhz C40 2TB Samsung 980 Pro SSD Corsair RM1000e Power Supply Corsair H150i iCUE aio No GPU yet Thank you to anyone that can help me. I'm so lost after today, especially after the working PC no longer boots. I feel like I'm losing my mind haha. Kind regards, HutBunz *SOLVED In regards the first computer it was as simple as a bad DP cable. Booted fine off of an HDMI cable. Everything working as intended now. As for the second computer, I downloaded Cinebench and the CPU was only landing a score of 10,000. Far cry from 24,000ish. So I downloaded HWinfo and noticed the CPU was only drawing 120W but was absolutely pegged during stress testing. Checked connections but they were all good. Turns out the chipset firmware and intelME needed updating. After installing the updates, BOOM, pulling ~170W and scoring 24,000 in Cinebench and also, BAM, XMP enabled no problem. Only issue is now is the CPU absolutely does not like being overclocked, although I have been using the Asus AI feature. Might try updating to latest BiOS as it improves stability, or manually overclock or could just be a loss in silicon lottery. All that said, I'm happy I got it all figured out after awhile of troubleshooting and I hope this information can maybe help someone else down the line. HutBunz

Hello, I have built new rig and getting randomly blue screen mentioning memory controller. This started after enabling XMP profiles on z690. Blue screen are very random atm. I m using 4x 16GB ddr5 Corsair Ram CMK32GX5M2B5600C36 on mobo Asus Z690 plus wifi. I m unable to boot this at 5600Mhz, I am running my system atm on 5200Mhz. On Asus website, I ve found compatible ram list, It does say board is compatible with 2x16 @ 5600Mhz but does it also work with 4x16 @ 5600Mhz or they have not tested this yet? Let me know if there is any solution to this, i have upgraded mobo bios to latest as well. I have not tried booting with 2x16gb @5600 yet. So I was planning on picking up the 2TB Inland Drive at Microcenter and was wondering if it's better for using the NVME drive as my game drive or my SATA SSD with DRAM. My intent for the one which isn't used for game storage is torrenting Linux ISOs and other legal stuff.

Ok, so we all know a few years back DRAMless SSDs were not recommended in any way shape or form. But now with more and more drives going DRAMless (like the Samsung 980) are they a good deal? I am looking to buy an M.2 NVME drive to use as my main storage device and being on a budget DRAMless drives are all I can afford. (first time m.2 user here)

So i downloaded hardware info and saw that my ram was only going at 1800 MHz still even though i thought changed it to 3600 which it is supposed to go at so I went into BoIS and turned on d.o.c.p and nothing changed, so i looked around in BoIS ( i have a Asus motherboard with AMD) i found memory overclocking and put it on 3600 MHz and now the dram light is on and it refuses to go in to BoIS or start. Please help

Hi, I'm building with the Gigabyte B560 AORUS Pro AX motherboard. This is my first build. I have a seemingly DRAM issue on the red light of the motherboard. Please excuse the mess and lack of some parts, as I've been trying to find the root cause. My ram is a single stick of 16gb DDR4. In this photo, there is no ram placed as I wanted to see if DRAM would persist without the RAM stick, but it still has. Note that some fans are still not installed, as this is an earlier test to see if it'd at least boot up, but there have been no signs of life on the monitor. Here is some information about the build itself, if that would help. This is all from the Dell XPS 8940 that I have dissected, by the way- 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD +1TB SATA 7200 RPM HDD Item number: 400-BIQQ 16GB, 16Gx1, DDR4, 2933MHz Item number: 370-AGFW NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) RTX 2060 SUPER(TM) 8GB GDDR6 Item number: 490-BFUF 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700 processor(8-Core, 16M Cache, 2.5GHz to 4.9GHz) Item number: 338-BYVU If anyone could provide some insight into anything that may be wrong, I'd be really grateful!

Starting yesterday, I've had this issue where, after about 15 minutes of playing a game and having discord open, sometimes with Brave window open, my PC will freeze, cut to black, and leave me with a 0d error and a yellow DRAM light. The first time it happened, I was emulating a game through Xenia and watching a YouTube video, then it froze and blue-screened, which is very odd as I've never had that happen with this build. Since then, after cutting power via the PSU switch, I've had my current problem with no blue-screen while playing Destiny 2. I've tried updating my BIOS, reinstalling Windows, swapping DRAM slots, but the problem persists. I am at a complete loss as to what caused this or how to fix it. Does anyone know of a potential fix or do I just have to get new hardware? Thanks Specs: ASUS ROG Crosshair Hero VIII wifi (BIOS ver 4201) G.skill Trident Z neo 32GB 3600 CL16-19-19-39 Ryzen 7 5800x RTX 3080 FE EVGA G3 1000w PSU noctua cooling Windows 11, latest updates built around late 2020/early 2021 UPDATE: I still don't know what is causing this issue, but I don't think its something with PC's hardware, as I've started having the same problem on my laptop (MSI Raider GE76, intel i7 12700H, RTX 3080, 16GB RAM). Could it be an electrical issue? I have no idea, please help

Hi, so on my motherboard there is red light on DRAM. It all started when power outage happened, pc shuts down. Whe power outaged I turned off psu on switch, and when power came back. I turned on psu on switch and started pc, but it showed up something like Select Proper Boot Drive I think. Then I again turned on pc and got in bios, wanted to select my boot drive, and when i were selecting i missed ssd and clicked on hdd, again I tried to start pc but screen that display Asus stuff and that click "Del" to enter bios, just didnt pop up, and I ned to turn it up few times and when i entered bios and clicked on ssd, it started Automatic Repair, but got in loop, again i turn on pc and it is just windows blue logo and black background loop. Then I opened my pc saw that light, pulled out Ram and putted ram back in slot, but it wont show the display, monitor isnt activating on pc startup. Then I couldnt shut down pc on button, I need to switch it off or to hold on button. Also when i click on button to turn on, it starts, turns off itself and turn on again itself. Think it had some type of smell, and baddest thing that on site where is info about power outages of my city, there was no my street...

Things I have tried: I have switched ram channels from A2 and B2 to A1 and B1 to see if anything changed. I double/triple checked that X.M.P 3600 was set. I have also updated BIOS to be the latest version provided by Gigabyte I cannot, for the life of me, figure what is going wrong. I'm not sure if it's my MOBO or DRAM at fault here.

I recently decided to upgrade my old Mb and Cpu so thats why now i'm really confused why it wont post or anything. Whats happening when I turn it on is the CPU light turns on, and then it immediately switches to the DRAM Led on the board. For the first 30 seconds it looks like it tries to reboot itself, similar to me pressing the reset switch on the pc. I have tried running only 1 stick of ram in every slot, tried both the 1-2 and 3-4 channels together in an attempt to see if it will boot in duel channel. I have tried to reset the bios by removing the CMOS battery. The only thing I can think of that I don't know how to do is flashing the BIOS with the latest or a newer version as I believe this Motherboard doesn't support the new 5000 series chipsets without an update. I originally upgraded from an Intel i7 2600k so flashing a new bios though an old cpu isn't an option. One last thing to mention is that the ram's RGB does light up, and in fact when I reset the BIOS the RGB was on before I actually turned it on.
