Budget (including currency): currently what I have now in the pcpartpicker link is what I plan to spend Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: photoshop, multitasking, 1440p gaming, graphic design Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): https://pcpartpicker.com/user/squidnee/saved/BP8TYJ I current have a 1660ti that I plan to use until I have the money saved up for the GPU in my pc list I also plan to top mount the AIO and keep the front fans where they are, plus maybe use a rgb fan from my prebuilt to the back of the new one as an exhaust I also plan to transfer all my SSD and hard drive info to the M.2's but am still a little unsure how to do that. I do have a few videos. THESE WILL BE MY PARTS, I PLAN TO BUY THEM NEXT WEEK this will be my first custom build by myself so I wanna make sure everything will go smooth since I am a beginner but I know the basics. Any conformation on these parts would be wonderful! Since I have been saving up for a while to upgrade which is needed. Plz any tips for reinforcing ideas would be great!

I'm curious if anyone has any interest in some electroplated pc components. If so, which and what would it be worth it to you? Trying to see if it would be worth it to do a batch of stuff on my own. Need an excuse to dedicate the space and time for it so just trying to gauge if this is anything anyone is interested in or not.

I need help to build custom case for iMac 27 inch late 2015 A1419. The LCD display broken, and I don't want to spend money to buy it's display, instead of using cheaper external display. Another case is.. There is 2 and half of 4 led indicator. I believe.. First led for power supply, second is for the mainboard, third for GPU, and fourth for display. Third LED not fully bright. Fan spinning faster since starup but somehow, the external monitor working good.. So.. I just thinking to bring all the machine out of the iMac steel. And put into a custom case. Or if you having any solution and advice please, I love to know it.. Thanks..

What's up everyone! I have finally got around to starting my nes mod I've been wanting to do this for years now ever since I say the nes 3.0. I finally have enough cash to get everything I need. My dad had an old nes in his she'd that was in pretty decent shape so I saved some cash there but here's the parts I went with Part List: Cpu: intel i3 10100 $80 offerup Gpu: Nvidia evga gt 1030 $100 Mobo: asrock h470m itx AC $120 Psu: HDplex 200w $65 Cooler: cryorig c7 already had Ram: 16gb not yet purchased Storage: 256gb nvme not yet purchased I'm slowly beginning to prep the NES I started by dremeling out the piece of plastic that looks like a T and a bunch of the screw posts. All it needs is some sanding now. I'm waiting on a 3d printed motherboard tray that subparmixtape on here designed ( thanks to you sir!) This will make the build a lot easier and cleaner. I'll post up my progress

So I'm going to Nero this thread again to say that I'm presently in discussion with protocase to go over and rework the LTT design for a build I'm working on. One concern I have is that the 3090 with a EKWB Vector block will not fit into a 4u case, so I'm considering 5U? Another thought is that placing the rads in front of the motherboard is a fundamentally flawed. My machine runs at over 600w in 'full tilt' OC mode. The thing is a furnace, it would be like placing you components in front of a heater. At this time, I have the hardware on a TT core p3 chassis with a EK 420mm rad (140x3) and its not even close to providing the head dissipation that I needs. To make maters worse, I recently ordered a new cpu that will provide the loop with even more heat. Wouldn't it make more sense to vent the case through its sides? I haven't purchased a server cabinet yet but I could imagine its design playing a roll in this decision. Anyway thanks for the consideration, any and all thoughts would be appreciated. hardware: MSI atx motherboard 9900k delidded with derbour OC plate -ekwb block evga ftw3 ultra 3090 -ekwb block 32 GB trident royal 3600mhz rog thor 1200 psu Hardware update (incoming next week) asus atx motherboard 5950x -ekwb monoblock supporting hardware from above to carry over

Hello people c: , So I recently bought a pre-built office pc with a Core i5 2400 8gb of ddr3 ram windows 10 pro and a 400 HDD, this PC has a Micro Star ms 7707 motherboard and had a GT 210 installed in it which I swapped out for a AMD Radeon HD 6950 but the card only shows it booting and loading windows and then it just gives weird output flashing screen and so on , this happened/started while installing the drivers for the card and went on after that, so unistalling them should fix it right ? Wrong I tried that and I still got this weird screen flashing . If I put the gt 210 back in it it just works fine . At this point am a bit lost and not exactly sure what to do, so help would be greatly appreciated ! c: I am building this pc for my little sister because she wants to play roblox and minecraft. Following is a Video of the screen flashing ! Weirdpc.mp4

Hello! I've been working on this project for a little while, but only now am I ready to somewhat show it (outside of the SFF discord). I can't guarantee anything about the case coming to market or being finished at all, but I'm enjoying working on it so far. Anyway, I'll just list everything I have for now: The Specs: CPU Cooler Clearance: 70mm (NH L12S) GPU Clearance: 3-slot, 320mm (I'd recommend sticking to something a bit shorter, like the 3090 FE, if possible) Fan Support: 120x25mm fan below PSU Volume: 9.3L external (L12S adds a lot of width compared to the T1 for example that is only 133mm, compared to ~155 + panels w/L12S support). I've also added distance between PSU and GPU (PSU offset) as well as a spine that does not block the FE airflow path, so thermals with the FE card should be decent. No water-cooling support, the T1 already exists with similar GPU compatibility (3090 FE fits in 3-slot mode no problem) and if you want to water-cool the CPU there is no point in having the 70mm of cooler clearance in most cases. As I said, if you'd like to water-cool, I'd point you towards the excellent FormD T1. Here is a render of the upcoming second prototype (testing first prototype right now, to make sure GPU PCIe slot alignment is correct and such). Side panels done too, but they are not in this render. Here's a picture of the first "prototype" (it's really just to test fit, no panels on this one). I basically just wanted to make sure the GPU fit in the slot and locks in properly, and thankfully I was able to seat the spare GTX 1050 I have without too many issues (took a couple tries since I didn't want to break the plastic by pushing into the slot too hard) so my measurements seem to be correct enough for the riser positioning. I still need to test the motherboard, but after that I should be ready to move on to the second prototype (with panels and all). Anyway, that's all I have for now, I'll hopefully update this thread as I make progress.

Yea, just like the title says I'm looking into selling my current PC to help finance getting a pre-built just so I can get my hands on a 3080. I've never sold old pc hardware before so I don't know what is standard, but I figure 50% of retail is more than fair. But would still like other people's opinions on if I'm asking for to much, or am I actually asking for to little. Would be asking for $600 CAD, breakdown of price is below Ryzen 5 3600: $150 MSI B450-A PRO: $50 2x8GB DDR4 Patriot Viper: $30 Gigabyte Windforce GTX 1080: $300 NZXT H440: $30 EVGA 650W PSU:$30 512GB ADATA SU800: $20 Budget (including currency): TBD Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: I play a large variety of games, anything from Bind of Isaac, to Destiny, the recently released God of War pc port Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

I was playing ROBLOX with 1 Graphic button on the settings, so the least possible graphics which reduces how much is loaded into the game in one go. I also had Discord at the time open, along with my browser, Microsoft Edge, now, I was on the website of ROBLOX with my browser and it was very slow and stuff would sometimes not load in, like only the very little things like my avatar in the avatar editor and what not, but anyways, as I was customizing one for a friend, I kept lagging a lot in my game, to the point my computer had to like, refresh it's system?? Where I wouldn't see my taskbar and something would load as the mouse would show me, and then it would come back again, and also, my ROBLOX just crashed or something because my PC just closed it down for no reason?? It did make my game go purple and then black whilst it then went back to normal. But, the next minute it would be at 2 FPS or something as I would lag THAT badly, I also checked for viruses with the quick scan on my computer on Windows Defender and nothing shown on it, and I also uninstalled anything WAY before but I did check files of any apps I previously installed to then delete them but NOT go in the Windows.old or Windows folders as they're vunerable and control my PC, etc. I also mentioned previously in my first post that my dad was going to check it, he didn't, he didn't call me downstairs to check or anything, so, yeah, I just don't know what to do and very scared I am. So, if anyone could help me out, I would appreciate it, thanks! It is also supposed to be £600 PC, custom built, by my dad with the company being Acer, etc. This is my PC: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6400 CPU @ 2.70GHz 2.71 GHz Installed RAM 12.0 GB System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display Edition Windows 10 Home Version 21H2 Installed on 19/01/2022 I also did mention in my previous post that my PC had melted 5 power cables / Kettle leads, I have no clue why, may be the power supply, I think. And I also need to tell you guys something. My PC has been plugged out a few times due to a loose power cable, however, I make sure it is put in properly, and, when my Mum or Dad go upstairs to move my desk a slight bit, my computer shuts down and then boots back up again. I dunno what to do about that except possibly get another Kettle lead, so... Please help. My PC when Idle:

Custom PC for Gaming and Rendering in multiple rooms
Clare posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget : unlimited Country: USA I want to build a custom PC to run in three different rooms in my house on three different floors of the house. I will have in total 7 different monitors from tv, projectors, VR headset and regular pc monitors. They will range from 1080p 60fps to 4k. I'm not sure what I need to expand the number of monitors allowed on a single rig. Is this only dependent on the number of GPU or do I need something else. If anyone has a better solution I'm all ears. Please and Thank you -

I have an awesome idea I would love to see a video on. If not I'd make it myself after a long long time because it seems interesting. A table with touch screen tablets inlaid into the surface that are covered and used as touch screens for attached monitors via a network of custom cables. For background, I never owned a pc for nearly 20 years, and so while I do love my pc I've had for about 3 months now I have stretched the limits of what android could do for years. Android supports many niche features that otherwise I didn't know was possible such as display output via the port on the bottom or even being able to use the android device as a second powered monitor for a pc! It supports USB hubs (but you have to make sure the USB hub is fast enough to support the phones full connection speeds) and I have gotten great success with just plugging it in n it working in most cases. This brings me to the idea I had l. It was just a musing at first but it became more than that really quickly. I spent the last 6 or so hours engulfed in designing a table where you knock on a squared off section of the wood and the monitor on the wall lights up to an android swipe unlock screen. You can swipe on the table and unlock the screen and use the tablet in the table (that you can only see from the marked off section) to control the screen! There are 3 USB c ports on the side edge of the table all connected to the tablet. One port is dedicated to the charging of the device (via a magnetic charging connector attached at the end so its snag proof) and the other 2 are for the monitor (wirelessly or wired) and for USB drives/updates/adaptors you want to use. This would be easily implemented with Android. The only technical problems I can think of would be a power button extention out the side of the tablet on to the side edge of the table (just in case power ran out in the device and it needs to be turned back on) and potentially the wifi not reaching the device as easily as expected in which case the antenna internally needs to be moved towards the surface of the table. The hardest part would be the custom cables and getting them to not be filled with resin or the casting material on the edges of the table. The internal cables would be fully connected and in place during the casting so connections would not be integrated from being encased (tho I'd have the device depowered just in case) then potentially the power button being a pain... Hmm probably lead the wires to the edge and dremel out the pocket for the small pcb for the power button and use touch up materials? My idea would take the shape of a completely normal looking wooden table with a gloss finish that you can hav by a wall that is a hidden tablet control for a wall mounted monitor (or sitting in the middle of the table) I know LTT doesn't typically do cool custom android stuff or have the same cult following as Apple products have but this idea was a fun one. Thanks for your time reading my idea! If you like the idea feel ree to nab it but please link me a pic of video of the end product here.

Hello there, As a fun holiday project, I want to program a custom doorbell. When I press a Bluetooth button (one of those cheep ones from selfie sticks), I want a python script (running on my phone) to recognize it. As far as I am aware, Android automatically creates a "Media-Button-Pressed" type of event. I simply cannot find a python script, that listens for this event. I already found solutions in Java for this problem, but since the only language I'm somewhat familiar with is pyhton, I'd like to use the mentioned programming language. Thanks in advance.

Hi, for the past 3 or so years i have been fighting with my fans I have 3 original phanteks fans and 2 corsair h100i fans my mobo has 5 fanheaders but i need my aio plugged into 1 of the slots however my h100i allows plugging in 2 fans into it (great ! (not really...)) my current setup is: 3 phanteks fans plugged into asus motherboard controlled using AI Suite 3 2 corsair fans plugged into h100i aio watercooler my issues: coirsair fans are LOUD coirsair software is a piece of **** it never respects my profiles, randomly does random stuff like ramping up and down for no reason (I have stable rpm untill like 80C so it shouldn't) asus software is not terrible... but could be better i want more control fixes: get new fans add more fans to motherboard so i don't have to use h100i and iCUE use https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.Releases instead of AI Suite 3 write custom software to make custom event based fan curves or use software above now comes my question and followup, is there something that (preferably open source) can allow me to add let's say 2 or 3 more fans i don't mean a splitter or commander or whatever they are called, i mean a way to add FAN1 FAN2 with their own (different) events/fan curves? just like a motherboard supports i looked up for corsair, they have an API for iCUE which is great, but WHY can't i have custom fan speed, their api only supports colors?? im desperate enough to make my own board/hardware if nothing is available? would create new thread on that, as i have some questions for example my device manager lists "ACPI-Lüfter" (Lüfter = Fan) is there easy way to add more fans to windows/device manager? let's say im lacking in the driver department making a board that can control 10 fans via pwm and writing some software in whatever using serial (better choice?) is pretty easy, software is where stuff is harder but probably borrowing some code from hwmonitor should make it easier, again would make new thread maybe some peeps would get on the board (open source hardware and software, because im tired of iCUE) i tried googling and didn't find a product that can do this pretty easy task let me know what you think !
