I thought since there isn't anything like this on the forum at the moment, it would be nice to share any artwork that people have made in a forum post Any art is fine, and it can be any medium. If you consider your PC rig to be a work of art, go ahead and post that too! But only if it genuinely has been painted/modified with art such as metal sculptures etc. I haven't done much digital artwork - I'm more of a traditional artist myself. So here is some of my work. I like working in pencil the most This drawing of Master Chief was a present for a friend (not myself ). This is a drawing of Beyoncé I was planning to try and give to her when I went to one of her concerts, but I was too far away for her to see... This is a work in progress - another present for a friend. Again, it's Beyoncé. See a theme here? This is a piece I did for an art exam. I had only 10 hours to do it! Sorry the picture quality is awful, I wasn't really supposed to take a picture of it so I had to be quick I look forward to seeing some other poeple's art!

I'm building a new PC and I though I've earned myself a nice sound card after using on board audio on all of my builds. I'm split between the sound blaster and the xonar dx. Both are advertised for 7.1 surround and gaming. I'll be using the card for watching movies, videos, listening to music, and lots of gaming but only on a pare of stereo headphones, nothing else. I just want the one that has crisper audio, more amplified sound, and best 3d sound. Also good driver support would be nice. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hey guys, I've been trying to figure out how to permanently enable 5.1 playback through my speakers. I have a Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic, and it's been working great, but there is one quirk that I would like to get figured out. Here's the problem: Playing any audio file through Windows Media Player or Spotify, it locks the system to 2.1 channel audio. But opening a youtube video first, my 5.1 speakers work perfectly, sound coming from every speaker. Weird huh? If you guys have any suggestions, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I'm in the middle of recapping it salvaged from old motherboards. Blows my ears out now :P

Yes I know seems kinda like a dumb thread.. Who would need help setting up their astro a50s? Well I do you see I bought these headphones about five months ago and had been running them through only having them plugged in through USB. I would get good sound like that, but I figured I spent 300 dollars on these headphones for the 7.1 surround sound so why not get a sound card to get that 7.1 sound? So I went out and bought this sound card: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Blaster-Fatal1ty-Champion-SB1354/dp/B0060SXDRI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381663848&sr=8-1&keywords=creative+recon3d+fatal1ty I installed it and plugged my Astro a50 mix amp through optical cable to the sound card. I also have my stereo speakers plugged into the audio jack on the sound card. Than I started up the program for the sound card and tried setting it up to play the 5.1 surround to the headphones. Well I got no sound what so ever. I than went and made the sound card the default playback device still nothing. What am I doing wrong? I also made this quick video so you guys could see how I have it plugged in and everything hopefully somebody here can help me with this. :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ntl1RzlEec Thanks for looking at this thread please help.

So, I have one of these cards just lying around and I know it works but it works in windows xp I have a regular pci slot on my motherboard, and I'd like to use it as a third output/input. Problem is, I'm running windows 8 pro 64-bit. Question is, does anyone know where I can find drivers for it. It will not work without drivers  It's the regular card you buy from creative, it didn't come with a dell computer difference is hardware dsp vs software dsp on dell model, not sure if that helps

I have tried enabling and disabling CMSS-3D but I can't notice any difference- what does this setting do? Also, under performance should I select 16 or 24 bit depth? And 48 or 96KHz sampling rate? I don't really have much experience with sound cards

I recently reinstalled windows because my games were crashing and reinstalling my video drivers didn't fix it (event viewer said the video drivers were the culprit almost every time). So I reinstall Windows 7 and get my system back up to date with patches and anti-virus, reinstall drivers. Lastly I get to my audio driver which installs fine, and was recognized even before driver installation. However after restarting as instructed by the installation wizard I still don't have any audio playing through my speakers. The creative onboard sound card is recognized, Windows says there are no issues with it or the driver. I installed the most recent driver I could find, and the speaker icon in the lower corner does not have the red cross through it (or any other error messages). It was working fine on my previous install. LTT forum. Do you know anything I can do to get this working?

I have the Logitech Z506 5.1 speakers and I'm looking to get a a good sound card to get more out of the speakers. I know Linus says get the most expensive Asus card within your budget, which would be the Xonar DX. However, one of my friends who is a big audiophile has recommended me the Sound Blaster Z. So, I'd like the opinion of the guys on the forum, what sound card should I get? Links to products mentioned -------------------------------------- http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/surround-sound-speakers-z506?crid=47 http://www.soundblaster.com/products/sound-blaster-z.aspx#features (Can't find link for Xonar DX, sorry for the inconvenience)

Any good recommendations for a 5.1 Surround sound system for a PC. Currently running A logitech z506 which is quite shit because of the interferrence that I keep getting throught them. I'm not the only one who has experienced this with this model of speaker so I'm looking to upgrade within the $100 mark. Found the Creative SBS A550 5.1. Does anyone know if its any good?

I can get either of these for a steal right now and I do need a speaker just so I don't have to keep using my headphones especially when I have my friends over lately. Edifier Exclaim e10 is about 15% cheaper than Creative Gigaworks T40, I heard good things for T40 - but this is not about the best audio quality. I have a decent headphone when I want quality, this is more to how best can I fill a small room with a good enough audio. which one would be best to get? I could also just get a crappy random brand speakers for way cheaper and hold on to my money, so what'd be the best thing to do? Thanks in advance

Hi Guys, I am wondering if anyone could help me out before I write a destructive review on how poorly my Creative Sounblaster Recon 3D Wireless gaming headset has been. When it works it is actually a good quality sounding product but that's when it works. I am on my second set of these headphones but yet again today find that the external sound card it comes with has just totally failed on me. The thing just doesn't want to power up at all from the USB and leaves my headphones just flashing whilst they wait for the wireless card to recognise them but just doesn't happen! This is the second time this has happened to me in the space of 5 months and when originally purchased I paid £175 for these. For a product like this to do this is not only frustrating but totally unnacceptable. So, my system. I am running a high end rig, well built and on Windows 8.1. Both times the device has just completely stopped powering on (usually lights flash on the side of the external card when it powers on). Both times have been after NO alterations to the system or any updates from Windows. The device is fully compatible with Windows 8.1. I have tried plugging it into the computer USB 3's and 2's as well as the Motherboard USB 3's and 2's and my MOBO is a Sabertooth Z87. I have also tried uninstalling the device and removing its drivers and then re-installing the device and its drivers from the Creative website. It still doesn't work! The strange thing is, my Windows is still able to detect the device. It even plays visually on the sound bar but it just does not work! When my first one didn't work, Creative took me through step by step very frustratingly by email on how to possibly solve the issue (by doing the above) and yet it still failed so they RMA'd it and within a month this new replacement has also failed. Am I doing something worng? It seems to have happened when iTunes began playing both times but I am not sure if that is coincidence. I am not overly techncial with software at all so any help for a last ditch attempt to get this thing working again will mbe much greatful before I go through a long and possibly not in favour to me process of trying to get my £175 back from them to go and buy a better and possibly more expensive product! Gaming without my earphones is torture!!!! Thanks

Hello all, I was trying to get my build all wrapped up, but it continues to bug me that there's a HDD cage in the middle of my case... So I was curious, Do you guys have any creative methods to mount a HDD without a cage?

My on board soundcard is acting up, I can only get sound to my headphones when I use(in the creative software) 5.1 surround / 2 speakers NOT headphones. How do I fix this? I'm using the gigabyte sniper 3 motherboard, Creative CA0132 chip.

Hey guys and gals I've been lurking on the forums for a while now and I'm still struggling to find a solid solution to my question: What audio setup is best for gaming? Especially with regards to sound cards or separate amp/dac units. Specifically for positional audio through stereo headphones while keeping great sound detail. There are a lot of audiophile-oriented people that give great advice for their particular tastes but not a whole lot of gamers that can give me a straight answer (likely due to the subjective nature of audio). I'm aware there are plenty of "good enough" options but I'd really like a set up I can enjoy for a while before upgrading (perhaps an unrealistic request). My particular case is as follows: I recently ordered a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-990-Pro-250 headphones for my PC setup. They're in a good price range for me and I've heard great things (sans the pronounced treble which I may or may not enjoy; TBD) All I have ever run is onboard audio so I know I need an amp to drive these. I've been looking at the Fiio E10, but there is no positional audio for this setup as far as I know and, as I mentioned, I would really enjoy this feature. (Razer Surround?). My question is this: are sound cards and their associated drivers too much trouble? If so, what would you recommend for my particular needs? If not, then what sound card is going to give me great gaming performance without the nightmare driver scenarios I keep reading about. Something I can put on my motherboard would be nice as I have a myriad of cables dangling from my PC already, but if sound cards are really that much of a waste, I will gladly seek alternatives. I've considered the Fiio E10, Creative Z series (questionable?) , ASUS Xonar Cards, ASUS Phoebus (but I've heard TERRIBLE things) and O2/ODAC is a little expensive for me right now or perhaps I'm looking at the wrong units? Thanks for the help, cheers.

So I'm looking to put a high end sound card into my computer, I want to spend around $150-$300 on it. I need the sound-card to have both a headphone output (100Ohms or more) and also support 5.1 surround. I've currently been looking at the Creative Sound Blaster ZXR, it's a great card with everything I need, but there are barely any reviews on it (I want Linus to do one), so I'm worried something might be slightly wrong about it? If you have any suggestions for other cards just mention them below, other wise, why hasn't anyone been doing reviews on the ZXR?

So I want to get Tiamat 7.1 but am unsure of what sound card to pair it with. I'm thinking either Xonar Phoebus, Xonar Essance STX, or Sound Blaster Z. I'm also going to be hooking up Sound Stick III. Any thoughts? (I've heard the latest drivers for the phoeus are absolute crap)

So guys, This is something random I came across and thought you'd find interesting! What side is more dominant for you? Left or right? I personally got 50/50 on this! http://en.sommer-sommer.com/braintest/ Don't forget to post your results here!

In the past when Creative released the Creative Sound Blaster Z and the ZX everyone was doing reviews on them! Now when they released the ZXR no one does reviews? Explain?

Hey guys what's up? Is it worth it to buy the Soundblaster Z with the Audio Control Module (ZX)? The reason why is because I would have no problem using the front panel audio on my case and I feel that it might be a waste of money. Will using the front panel audio connectors on my case with a discrete level sound card compromise the audio for my headphones? I rock a corsair vengeance 1300 Headset.

I just bought a Sound Blaster at Fry's becuase it was on sale and my FiiO E10 died. I figured if the FiiO is better I will return the sound card and get another one. I just installed it and downloaded the drivers, but with my Sennheiser HD 558s, I only get audio in the left channel. The Creative control panel, Windows sound control panel, and Foobar are all playing in the left channel only. Should I re-install the drivers, get a new one, or do something else?
