Upgrading my son to the 4000D RGB Airflow. It comes with the 3-120mm fans shown here (AF120 RGB Elite I believe). I feel like we need to add at least 1-2 more as 2 intake and 1 exhaust doesn’t seem like enough. My thought was the 3 intake where they are here then 1-2 for exhaust. Either both at the top or 1 on top and 1 at rear. Fans are $25/ea. He’s running a Ryzen 5 5600X with a 6700XT with a MSI Gaming Plus Max B550 motherboard. Adding an M.2 with his existing SSD and HDD (HDD which will be in the basement with the PSU hence why I like the idea of that bottom fan at the front since it mainly points into the basement. Thoughts on number of fans or any push/pull config setups for those using this case?

I recently upgraded my PC and got myself an Intel Core i7-14700K. I have the Corsair 7000D Airflow case, Cougar Forza 85, 3x120mm CoolerMaster SickleFlow top exhaust fans, 3x Corsair AirGuide front intake fans (They're included with the case), and 1 Corsair AirGuide back exhaust fan. I notice that my GPU's (RTX 3080 Ti) temperature stays around 67-77 degrees Celsius under 100% load when I play "demanding" games like Ghostwire: Tokyo at ultra settings with ray tracing and no upscaling. BUT My CPU's temperature CONSTANTLY fluctuates between 60-81 degrees Celsius EVERY SECOND when only 12-18% is utilised. I use MSI Afterburner's OSD to track my HW temps. What is causing this? Is it normal? Should I be worried?

Hello, I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600 (6 Core), 16 GB RAM and an ancient 760 GTX (long story on that one). I'm planning some upgrades that include a 4070 RTX, increasing to 64 GB RAM (will be developing personal projects), and a new case My overclocking days are over for now and my main priority is keeping my PC as quiet as possible. I'm planning on the 4070 TUF Super (link) as it is among the quieter GPUs according to the interwebs. I had an Antec P series case for long time that I loved that was ultra quiet and well built. Currently I have a Nanoxia case that I've been less than thrilled with. It's decently quiet but feels poorly built hence why I'm looking for a new case. I'm willing to spend money on a good case due to the longevity across multiple builds. For the case I'm sold on the Corsair 2500D (link). I've never had a flashy case like this before and I quite like the style and am interested in getting some RGB going for the first time. I'd likely get the Air Flow edition. So this brings me to the AIO. I've never used one before. What I'd like to know is: How are they in use and do they require much maintenance? Considering my CPU (but also thinking about a future CPU upgrade in a couple years) am I going to get a quieter system vs. air cooling? Right now I have a Noctua D-15 (link) with one fan and it remains off until I hit a certain CPU temp threshold. I've seen some kits (I saw Corsair has them) that look like you can add liquid cooling to the GPU. That would be awesome and could make getting an AIO worth it I think. Would this bring a meaningful drop in my system noise by adding liquid cooling to my GPU? Another thing I suppose is, if I go with an AIO, what should I plan for my case fans? Do I even need an intake fan since the AIO has them? I assume I wouldn't need any exhaust fans and probably add a fan at the bottom to blow onto the GPU.

So my PC has an I5-13600k, cooled by an MSI MAG CORELIQUID C280 AIO. The Raditator is placed on the roof of the case, with the tubes towards the front. When i first built this PC, i was having cooling issues but this was quickly resolved by undervolting the CPU, which was easy as i have an MSI motherboard so i just changed the lite load from mode 9 (the default) to mode 5. Doing this, it no longer thermal throttled, even during long cinebench runs (the highest i got was like 88c or something). At the time i didnt think much of it, because after doing research online, it seems these CPUs basically cooked themselves out of the box without undervolting. The last time i checked my temps, it was probably a few months ago, via HWINFO. They were fine at the time. idling around 40C or so. Only ever getting up to the high 80s while under a high load. However, just yesterday i noticed that the fans on the PC were being rather loud even when idle, and so i opened up HWINFO and to my horror, my PC was thermal throttling even when idle just on the desktop! Temps were fine just a few months ago and nothing could have really changed to create such a gigantic increase! Not long after that, i restarted my PC, updating windows in the process. This is where i gets a bit muddled because, after updating windows, Temps were still HIGH but not overbearing. It was idling at around 60-65. Still a good amount more than i'd expect, but not necissarily bad. It still seems to be similar to that, as right now its currently idling at 56 just with me typing this out, and nothing else really going on that could tax the PC. I say its muddled because i doesn't make me certain its a hardware issue.... However, today ive found that even while playing basic games, or even watching a video, temps will shoot up, and thermal throttle. I have taken some steps. Namely i hopped back in to the BIOS and moved the lite load down one mode, or in other words, undervolted it more. I also adjusted the fan curve to be more aggressive. However this doesn't seem to have helped. At this time, i also noticed what sounds like....almost like a clicking sound, coming from the PC? Presumably, from the pump that is inside the rad. I did touch the tubes and it does seem to be pumping just fine however, one is hot and one is cold so its not like the pump has failed.... The sound itself isnt overly loud, and i did hear something similar before but it was very quiet and presumably just the pump going about its work. The clicking isn't constant, maybe only one every dozen or more seconds, and is infrequent. Or in short bursts of clicks. In fact, right now i can't hear it. As an added precaution, i did a basic dusting of the PC, removing dust from the filters etc. My next step was going to be to re-paste the CPU but....i really dont want to do that, as it was a gigantic pain in the ass getting the AIO block on to the CPU in the first place, without smearing the paste everywhere (First time using an AIO over air cooling, built this PC back in late 2022, so its not like the pump is very old either, neither is the thermal paste). (Also, i heard that these cpus can buckle over time so i didn't really want to remove it for fear of not being able to getting it back on) So before i do that...i Just wanted to post on here and maybe get some input, see if there is anything i've missed or other steps i might be able to take? Thanks in advance!

Hi all. I've been having a heating problem with my custom PC for a while. The gist of the problem is that the heat of my CPU gets incredibly high (like, between 85-100°C high) for no apparent reason. I'll have Discord and a couple of Chrome tabs open, or just one app, and my fans start blowing extremely loud, with my performance also lagging. I'll check Task Manager, and displayed performance will be normal, something like 1-4% CPU usage. However, the CPU will get so hot, sometimes it thermal throttles. At one point, I replaced the thermal paste and blew out any dust, and the problem persisted. This continued for a while, and then completely disappeared for over a year for seemingly no reason. I was able to run multiple apps and a game at once with no issues. However, it's recently shown up again. Through testing, here's what I've discovered: My AIO seems to work. It makes funny noises sometimes, but I've checked, and at these high temps, both tubes feel like they have water flowing, and one is hot while the other is cool. I've also checked fans, they blow a good amount of cool air out of the top, and the radiator doesn't seem especially hot either. Again, this isn't a result of pushing my PC too hard. This pretty much never happens when I'm doing especially challenging things like running VR games or several applications at once, only at low workloads. Likely not a result of misreadings, as both the area around the CPU and one of the AIO tubes get warm. Anyone have any idea what's going on? My specs are as follows: Ryzen 7 5800X MSI SUPRIM RTX 3070 Ti 32GB 3800mhz Trident Z RAM MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS motherboard Lian Li GALAHAD 240mm AIO Help would be much appreciated! EDIT: Might also be important to mention that these aren't spikes: Immediately from boot, temps on several sensors go up to 85+ and stay like that.

i have a NZXT H5 flow case and have 3 out of the 6 fans for my pc because i was on a budget at the time. now i have some money and i saw that the Artic fans were a good option i also saw that p12s are different than the F12s my pc is on a desk if that helps

I have never had issues with my GPU and is dust free - in a well ventilated case. almost had it for a year. when i play games that use a lot of my GPU i will have backscreen crashes where my pc stays on, but with a black screen and loud fans. I end up needing to force shutdown by the button. i suspected its a temp problem.. when i went to check, i noticed temps being uncomfortably high on the gpu. i clocked it at 110c in the hot spot. but i have seen it go more then that but crashes before then. are these temps normal for this card or is there a fault with the card? (temps are in Celsius) are my black screens with the pc still on to do with the card overheating when playing games? helldivers2 is the one that black screens me. never used to do it before. my friend who has a 3080 also gets these types of backscreens when playing games, and theirs was to do with their case cooling. but the wired part for me is that my card is not being starved of cool air. From the screenshot i sent, the mins and max values are the ones to look at, as the current value is just my idle video: https://youtu.be/Ur-Ni82IsjU

I am cooling a Ryzen 7600 stock with a Noctua NH-U9S. Looking for recommendations for a good fan curve that will keep the cpu nice and cool. There is only one fan attached to the cooler. Thanks!

Hello, I did a mini itx build with the following components, Hyte Revolt 3 AMD Ryzen5 7600 non X Noctua NH-U9S (2) Noctua NF-A12s on instake Rx6700xt My temps never really dip below 40° and they peak out at 80° on most of the games I play. In the video below, it shows that under full load his build was only reaching 65° and I used a better cooler than he did.... https://youtu.be/gEiCwr_WTig?si=S0swK6H-Ne_2g8Kj Should I reapply thermal paste? ( I used Noctua supplied one) Should I change one of the intake fans to push air out of the case? Is there a specific fan curve that I should be using? Much appreciation and love :)

I figure I may aswell do thermal paste when I disassemble and reassemble my y50-70. Its internal temps were a bit hot anyways. What paste would you recommend for a noob and a an old laptop. How often should you do thermal paste? Does my Legion 5-17IMH05H - Type 81Y8 from 2021 need thermal paste if it still runs cool? Ive heard thermal grizzly mentioned, is it good for y50-70/legion 5? Hey, sorry if this is a thing already covered, but it caught me off guard when I saw it. A "700W/mK" graphite thermal pad. Seriously, WTF? Is this stuff for real? I'd like to see it get the torture test next time thermal interface material gets a spot on the show. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B65FC7YZ/ref=sspa_dk_detail_5?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B0B65FC7YZ&pd_rd_w=isSXo&content-id=amzn1.sym.f734d1a2-0bf9-4a26-ad34-2e1b969a5a75&pf_rd_p=f734d1a2-0bf9-4a26-ad34-2e1b969a5a75&pf_rd_r=EZJFYAFN6K135HRHKC6S&pd_rd_wg=xql4D&pd_rd_r=4dc287f3-b8e9-4fb5-a9e5-20c1e7c6bca1&s=industrial&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWw Mark

My am3+ based gaming pc has come a long way and it's run out of steam, so i'm building a new system and i would like some thoughts on it! Motheboard: Asus prime b650m-k CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700x CPU COOLER: Cooler Master MasterLiquid M240L GPU: AMD Radeon rx7700xt gigabyte RAM: Kingston ddr5 8gb 6000MHz (2 sticks so total of 16GB) SSD: Corsair MP600 core 1tb PC build is aimed at gaming and is based on AM5 for future upgrades being easier. 2 IMPORTANT QUESTION i have are: -is the cooling setup for the cpu going to be enough knowing ryzen 7000 likes to get hot -is my current 560w PSU enough considering the recommended wattage is 525w on most PSU calculator websites. I would feel comfortable with that but the PSU is 8 years old, i have tested it and it always turned out fine, its a modular 80plus gold rated PSU but i think over time it has lost some of its mojo. Sorry if i missed the topic or if i have made a boring, long topic but i appreciate the helpful answers in advanced!

Hello, I have a question that I want to know. Which is better when it comes to cooling, 3 120mm fans or 2 140mm fans? On the website for the case I have one of the sides support up to either 3 120’s or 2 140’s (the case I have is the MSI MPG Velox 100R if that info is useful) the fans I am planning on using is the Noctua A12x25 fan as my 120mm fans and the Noctua A14 fans as my 140mm fans if that is of any help. What is better at cooling the 3 A12x25’s or 2 A14’s?

I have a problem just like this. However, I am given the option for 3 90mm fans for the bottom. Could I use it as intake and the other 3 as exhaust? Hi i have a question that might be dumb. But i have the MSI MPG Velox 100R case. It says it supports 3 front 140mm fans but only a 360 front radiator. So if it can have 3 140 fans why can't it have a 420 rad? is this a dumb question? T~T the radiator im wanting is the arctic liquid freezer iii which is 458mm length and the MSI MPG Velox 100R case is 474x231x490mm in size

Building a PC for a friend and he said he prefers air cooling. I'm trying to get a CPU cooler that cools well but isn't over $75. I was looking at the Deepcool AK500 and figured that would be good. Should I get the AK500? upgrade to the Deepcool AK620 that is way bigger or get a completely different air cooler? Will mainly be used for gaming.

PC boots to bios; after a bit shows extremely high temps on CPU and has the smart fan set to ~1800 RPM, after it gets to around 100 Celsius it shuts itself off. I have checked thermal paste, CPU cooler and it's placement, confirmed GPU, ram, mobo, and PSU work. All fans turn on. As system is turning the CPU and dram ez lights flicker between each other. I'm hoping to eventually upgrade my CPU cooler from a Noctua NH-U12S to a 240mm NZXT Kraken AIO cooler. I'm hoping to replace the fans with the F120 RGB fans eventually as I do prefer the looks. I have the Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL 16 GB (2x 8gb) ram sticks and I measured about 50mm of clearance. I did look at the thickness of the cooler with fans and it did come out a bit thicker but was wondering if anyone else tried this and if there still might be a way to make this work.

First time PC Builder, got parts for Christmas and built them: Parts I think are relevant - AMD Ryzen 7 7700 X CPU MSI MAG Coreliquid C360 Sometimes the PC boots, temps run normally, no issues. Idles at about 40C. Other times, temps start rising on startup and just don’t stop. Sometimes it’s like the cooler slows the rising temps but they always eventually continue rising into the 90-100 range. Was told too much thermal paste could be the issue, so I reapplied thermal paste last night, worked the first time I booted it up. Today, back to the same old issue. Is it an issue with the cooler itself? Did I put too much paste again? Help please Let me know if there is any other info you need

Anyone know of a 7+ port fan hub, preferably one that's controllable from Debian software? I currently have a Corsiar Commander Pro connected to all my fans because I found a article that explained how to setup proxmox to control the fans (I just never got around to implementing it); however, after a rebuild I am now at 7 fans which is 1 more than my commander pro can support. I could use a Y splitter but I don't want to do that because I want all of my fans to have PWM control and all the Y splitters I have and have seen won't allow that. I've been trying to find a 2 - 4 port fan hub from Corsiar but I'm not having any luck, although I am funding RGB hubs of that type. I want software controlled because I'm hoping I'll be able to run the fans slower (and therefore quieter) than they would be when direct motherboard connected. If I'm wrong in this then do let me know. If someone knows of a different 7+ port fan hub that's also controllable from within proxmox/Debian then I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know what that is.
