Hi there! So i obtained an old HP ProLiant ML350 Gen5 from my old school when they upgraded their servers. I now want to use it for my own private and business applications. As this piece of hardware has seen some years of use, I now want to upgrade it to give the machine a bit more punch. But during my search for compatible hardware some questions arose: 1) I only want to run some applications on this server (Jira, ButBucket, Jira Helpdesk, Jenkins, a mail server, a web server, owncloud and a media streaming service but I'm not quite sure which program I'm going to use for this purpose yet. Everything is running on Ubuntu Server). Is the additional power worth the upgrade from one to two CPUs, more RAM and SSDs instead of HDDs? 2) The HP seems to need a PPM module to be able to run a second CPU. Is this the right part for it: https://www.amazon.com/HP-407748-001-Voltage-Regulator-Proliant/dp/B000W7BQW2 3) The current memory is DDR2 and runs on a clockspeed of 667 MHz. Does the new memory have to have the same clockspeed or can I use faster memory without running into compability issues? 4) I want to replace the old 2.5 inch HHDs with new 256 GB SSDs but the SLEDS seem proprietary even though the drives seem to be not. Are normal 2.5 inch SSDs fine with these? 5) I found a cooler that looked exactly the same as my already installed one but it is advertised for ML350 Gen4. Will it also work with a Gen5? https://www.amazon.com/HP-Heatsink-Xeon-Proliant-ML350/dp/B0009H1CQ0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1469524252&sr=8-1&keywords=hp+cpu+heatsink+proliant+ml350 6) Does anybody know if this server has onboard gigabit ethernet? Thanks for the help Fabian

What cooler would you recommend for around £25 that is good for the price, also do keep in mind that it has to be under 15cm otherwise it wont fit in my case as its Micro ATX.

Hello all, this is my first post on the forums. I come with a question. I am wrapping up the final mods done with my first PC build that was completed last year. Today I had taken my GTX 1080 to a local computer shop to install the new EVGA Hybrid Cooler onto the card. I bought the newly modified card home and started to prep my 2x NF-12 fans for push/pull configuration until I realized there was a snag. Being the NF-12s are PWM fans with a 4-pin connector, I did not notice that the stock 120mm fan from EVGA is a 3-pin connector. From the looks of the female connector, there are two pins and one blank. I cannot connect my 4-pin Noctua Y splitter into the supplied female 3-pin as is pulling power from the card itself. My question is there an 3-pin to 4-pin Y splitter or some sort of adapter I can use to complete this portion of my upgrade progress. PS: Please excuse the PSU wiring mess. As my cablemod cables from performance-pc are in the mail scheduled for tomorrow. Plus the shroud needs to get modified on the Panzer Max to accommodate for the 120mm radiator plus two fans. Thank you.

Hi guys. I was wondering what kind of bang for the buck 2 fan liquid cooler should I buy to overclock my intel core i7-6700K to 4.6GHz at 1.35v stable, I would also prefer a cooler that doesn't put too much strain on the socket. I currently have a coolermaster nepton 240M but I have a sneaky suspicion that it may have died. I came to this conclusion because when in use, my motherboard reads a cpu error with said cooler while an intel stock cooler runs fine. (Obviously you shouldn't run a stock cooler of you plan to overclock.) I will look into any recommendations you may have.

I want to buy a AMD athlon x4 880k processor and run it at 4.2-4.6 Ghz, do I need an aftermarket cooler or is the stock near silent cooler good enough?

My FX-6300 has been struggling to stay cool with the stock cooler. I am thinking of buying a 25-35 USD Cpu Cooler. I've heard about the EVO 212 tons of times.... Is it a good cooler for the price? If not, which cooler would you recommend for me?

Hi evedryone, I plan on upgrading my gpu in the near future and I pretty much made my choice with a crossfire of rx 480's, unless the rx490 turns out to be something else than just a dual 480 on a single card. I really like the newly announced Asus Rog Strix rx480 (same cooler than the 1080/1070) but I fear that the open design of its cooler could be a problem with crossfire. I have a be quiet silent base 800 with 3 140's be quiet silent wings 2, two of them as intake and the third as exhaust, as well as a 120mm silent wings 2 Also, would my corsair rm750i psu be enough for a dual gpu setup? Thanks for your help

Hello. Soon I will be buying myself a computer. I'll rather get myself the 6700K and asus Z170 deluxe motherboard. I still don't know what air cooler ( I don't like liquid cooling) should i get so I can overclock it. Any ideas?

As the title states I am installing an aftermarket cooler to my RX 480. Ive been (for the first time) fiddling with OC'ing and the loud fans and inadequate temperatures really bothered me. I saw this fan bring down max's by 20C and being deathly silent I was wandering if there is anything I can do to prepare for it this weekend (already have the Accelero). I just want to be very careful because I dont want to kill my GPU. Anyways, back to the point of the post, is there anything special about the card that varies from the directions, and how accurate are the directions? PS: Does this void XFX's warranty if I'm in the US?

Hey there everyone, I was planning on getting a laptop until yesterday when I found out that the desktop counterpart of a pascal build would be much more cost efficient and here I am browsing through parts and trying to build one from scratch for the first time. I would like to have pretty good aesthetics on the entire build. First thing I would like to say is that I am looking for a build at about $1000(This doesn't include the cost of a monitor, mouse, keyboard or monitor). The aim of the build is to build a gaming rig that can handle 1080p gaming at around 60 fps and to that end, I have chosen the GTX 1060 6gb as my card. And when I went towards buying the cards online, I just couldn't choose which manufacturer to buy from. So could I get a little help on which manufacturer is better/worse at which aspects? I would like to get a CPU which is possible for 2-way SLI in the future, at the moment i would require it only for a single GTX 1060. So I was wondering whether I should go ahead with the i7-6700 or get a lower model (Any suggestions??) and then in the future when I decide to upgrade my GPU, get a new one?? Quite a few sites mentioned the Z170 motherboard as a pretty cost effective one about a year ago, what would be a good motherboard for the pascal GPU line. Any suggestions for a motherboard with pretty good aesthetics and within my budget? As for the RAM, I decided to go ahead with only 16 GB for now and I have yet to decide the brand, The case and coolers I haven't decided yet, but would like a mid-tower seems nice since I would be using it in college. Any other choices for a case smaller than mid-tower that can support the above specs??

Hi guys, I'm currently putting together my next PC, since my current 4670k+r9 290 build is starting to show its age and isn't really doing it for me anymore. I plan to carry my Noctua NH-D14 over to my new rig, but I'm having some second thoughts about that. When I originally replaced my annoyingly high-maintenance custom loop with the NH-D14, I immediately lost use of 3 ram slots and my PC wouldn't boot. It turned out the cooler was so heavy that it was straining the motherboard, probably breaking soldering points and causing the ram slots to fail. I had to use a piece of wire to tie the cooler to the top of the case, which restored my motherboard back to working condition. I'm now wondering if this is something that was caused by a shitty/abused motherboard, or if it's just something that happens with coolers that heavy. Are there any more elegant ways of suspending a cooler in the case, without using wire to tie it to the case?

I just installed a new corsair hydro series H80. I followed the instructions that come with the cooler. I only unplugged 1 cord and instantly plugged it back in. But now my pc won't start. When I press the start button nothing happerns. Not even a turn of a fan or anything. Anyone know what the problem might be??

Okay, so i was testing CPU temps and i let a 5 minute intel XTU stress test run, what i saw shocked me, why is this happening? The CPU is a Intel core i5-3550, thermal compound is Cooler master IC Essential E1, and the CPU cooler is a Cooler Master Blizzard T2 mini. I have not changed ANYTHING related to CPU clock speeds or voltage. Should these kind of temps appear with an aftermarket cooler?

Hi, So I have just finished installing all my components and a new one (Hue+, Corsair RM750X), into my new case The Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX. I am extremely pleased with my results. My next job is to upgrade the fans and CPU cooler. The reason for this is to make my PC as quiet as possible. I am currently thinking of getting: Be Queit! Dark Rock 3 Pro (Unless the pro is un-needed?) 3/4x Silent Wings 2 (2/3 front, 1x140mm@back) I was also unsure whether or not I should use the PWN Fan hub that is pre-installed into the case. My CPU cooler is plugged into the CPUFan1 header and the fan hub is plugged into the CPUFan2 header. IS that correct or would I be better plugging it into my Motherboards fans headers? Thanks for any help, Dexter

I was cleaning out my old pc - core 2 quad q8200 5gb ram ddr2 and 9500 gt. And i removed the cpu fan from the heatsink to clean the heatsink, i put it back together, but the cpu fan didnt spin. I could hear a noise and smell something plastic. After some time i turned it on again, it didnt spin, but there wasnt any smell or noise.

Does anyone know when or if Corsair will be releasing the liquid cooling bracket things for the GTX 1070? I am thinking about using the Phanteks EVOLV ITX case but I am worried that my EVGA 1070 SC will be choked for air because of the PSU/compartment thing. I want to do a full liquid cooled build in the EVOLV iTX like Demtry (however you spell it) from Hardware Canucks did in his review/build video for the case. I know I could go full custom loop but I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend on rads, fans, pumps, blocks etc. If anyone is confused this (http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-hg10-n970-gpu-liquid-cooling-bracket) is what I am talking about. Wondering if they will come out with that for the new cards anytime soon (2016 or early 2017).

Hello LTT community! I am upgrading my CPU cooler from the stock one that came with my AMD FX-8350 8-core processor to something that can cool it better while still being quiet. I am kind of at a budget of up to about 20-25 USD. Looking at Amazon, I found these two that looked pretty appealing: Cooler Master Hyper TX3: www.amazon.com/Hyper-TX3-Cooler-Contact-RR-910-HTX3-G1/dp/B005HIRDUA/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1470703712&sr=1-4&keywords=cpu+cooler&refinements=p_36%3A1253503011 Deepcool 120mm CPU Cooler: https://www.amazon.com/DeepCool-Cooler-Heatsink-quiet-LGA775/dp/B00OLA0BOA/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1470703712&sr=1-5&keywords=cpu+cooler&refinements=p_36%3A1253503011 I am having trouble deciding between the 2. At $18, the Cooler Master comes from a reputable brand and has 3 heatpipes, it also has a smaller fin array and a nonstandard size single fan. The Deepcool seems great at $20 because it has TWO 120mm fans that would match my case, on a large fin array for great cooling and more airflow, but it only has 2 heatpipes, versus the Cooler Masters 3. Both will fit in my black and blue Deepcool Tesseract case. So which would be the correct philosophy and thus the best cooler for me? More copper heatpipes and less and smaller fans on a smaller fin array, OR less copper heatpipes and more fans and a bigger fin array?. Or is there a happy medium at a similar price? Any input helps. Thanks!

Hi Guys! Can i Swap a Gigabyte Windforce Cooler from another R9 290 to replace the reference cooler on my card? Both are Gigabyte so i think it should work, ¿Any ideas? Saw a dead GPU with that cooler and is a R9 290 also, the guy is asking like $15 for it so its pretty sweet price
