Hello! I have a Gigabyte Aero 15 Oled and I broke my screen (model: ATNA56WR14-0). In my country there are no thecnical assistence that want to do the replacement. By the model of the screen, I think that my laptop have a 40-Pin eDP QHD+ connector. Since I don't need such a high resolution, I started looking for more affordable ones, like the B156HAN08.0, witch have a higher framerate and lower resolution. I saw the datasheet of this model and found out that this have a 40-Pin eDP Touch connector. My question is: Can I plug a 40-Pin eDP Touch screen to a 40-Pin eDP QHD+ laptop without burning the laptop? Do I need to cut the last 10 wires? Or should I use a 30-Pin eDP screen plugged into an adapter like the one that is in the image? Sorry about my english PS: I saw this connector names here: https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/section/Articles/1245191276/Screen+connector/

Anyone knows what connector is this one? The motherboard manual only specifies the ones right beside it. Perhaps it has something to do with the BIOS? It reminds me of a USB header, but the missing pin is in the opposite side The mobo is a ROG Strix B450-F Gaming II

A common cable included in modern modular PSUs are the 8-pin to 2x (6+2) pin PCI-e connector. Based on reading an 8-pin is effectively the same as a (6+2) pin. An 8 pin provides about 150W of power. If that's the case, then how can one 8-pin connector effectively supply 2x (6+2) pin connectors with 150 watt of power each? If a GPU requires about 300W of power, can I safely use an 8-pin to 2x (6+2) pin cables to connect the GPU. Ignoring the power from the PCI slot itself, this would either provide 150W of power (for the 8-pin connector facing the PSU) or 300W of power (for the 2 (6+2) pin connectors plugged into the GPU). On the surface, it appears as though it would only provide 150W of power, but why PSU makers would give an 8-pin to 2x (6+2) pin connector if it meant that each of the (6+2) pins could only provide half of the power as a normal 8-pin (150W). Since they're supposed to be functionally equivalent.

Hey, guys, I have a problem, recently I bought a new case for my computer I put my computer In the new case and after trying to turn it on nothing happened. Upon closer inspection, I discovered My 4-pin CPU connector was installed the wrong way... I know a lot of people will say that that is impossible because the connector has individual shapes for it to go in but in my case, the connector does fit in the wrong holes but would require a certain amount of force for it to go in. Anyway, after that, I properly put the connector and tried to turn it on again but it didn't turn on I tried reseating the ram a bunch of times but still didn't work. I researched about this but didn't get any exact answer on how to fix it, I read about the motherboard being fried but mine isn't fried because the lights on the motherboard are still lighting up. What should I do? My motherboard is an Asus Prime A320M-K with an AMD 3200G

Before i start let me just say i've been building and using systems for years and have built up quite a knowledge of hardware from LGA 775 to now so i'm not an idiot... But when it comes to audio Ive got no clue mate. So based off my research and limited budget plus whats on drop right now i've settled for getting an MT-602 since it seem so fit what i want in terms of powering a pair of DT990's. I'm not an audiophile so i'm not going for the absolute best or whatever, for context i LOVED the sound of my Razer Kraken Kitty editions till they died so take that how you will. Now my only issue is awkward because it sounds dumb but, how exactly does the MT-602 connect to a PC? it has RCA input which as far as i can tell is the only input but my system being ITX doesn't have a sound card or anything that outputs RCA so am i supposed to use an adapter cable or is there a device that goes between my pc and the MT-602? i've no clue haha. (it'll be connected to a B450i Strix)

I have this xbox one x from few years but recently it started to give me errors on booting up and then eventually to game crashes and then to sometimes not booting up. So long story short I ended up finding that I need a replacement for this connector. Since Microsoft don't sell spares of these connectors, those sold online are pulled out from other XBOXs' and I kinda don't wanna use those. So I've decided to make one of my own. So I know one of the connector is sata data connector but I need help finding the power connector. Thanks in advance.

So to start off with, i am feeling absolutely idiotic for doing this bought a brand new 1 TB hard-drive and cloned all my data from my old HDD to it as i was worried the old one was going to fail any moment now. Must have been something that happened when i was trying to fit or adjust the power connector, but i noticed that the SATA power port on the hard drive was giving off some shine. When i checked it with a flash light, i was horrified to see a part of the SATA power connector was broken ... like it was chipped off ! To describe in more detail, the 'elbow' of the SATA port, which stands upright, is gone along with a small part of the horizontal portion as well . I have circled the broken part with green color in the following image; Please note that this is not my hard drive, this is taken from the internet. However, it perfectly describes what i am facing right now should i be worried about the drive ? is there any danger, especially of something shorting out ? any possible electrical/electronic damage the the HDD ? I freak out when there's danger of any device failure or loss of data, so please educate me on what i should do in this situation, as all my data is on the drive right now. P.S : i realized that i feel so idiotic for not taking a picture of the broken port. Now i am too scared to fiddle with the port again, so as not to break anything further.

Hi everyone, I've been looking for an answer almost everywhere but it looks like a difficult question to locate in a sub category and to answer to. Long story short, I have and old Android phone, Xiaomi mi8se with cracked and broken display, everything else looks ok. I would like to re-use it, attached to a biigger screen for a project. I just can't figure out what kind of connector is used from MoBo to the touchscreen display itself and how to find a compatible one. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much P.S. sorry mods if it's the wrong category, couldn't really choose which was best

So... Apple is planning to use a "new" port on their "i" devices. The connector is (as I understand) mainly used by Nikon today and is called a "UC-E6" or a "Ultra Mini Connector", but Apple is apparently calling it a "Ultra Accessory Connector" or "UAC". " This makes the issue a little more positive, even though we had wished Apple went all in on the USB C, and not the fact that we now end up with three plugs also in the Apple universe." " The new plug is to be used for connecting accessories for iPhone and iPad, and will in some cases to replace USB C and Apple's Lightning-standard " What do you guys thinking about this? I am trying to find a CPU FAN right angle header (connector), similar to the one in picture above but I can't seem to find the product number. I tried searching Molex connector on Digikey but it seems that all of them don't have the plastic "tab" at the correct position. Can someone help finding the correct product number or maybe if someone already ordered a connector that you know works and can share manufacturer and part number?

I'm doing a case mod and I have a few questions about a couple of the onboard connectors on my motherboard. I have an Asus Crosshair VI and I'm having trouble finding documentation for one of the headers on it. What is the pinout for the header labelled ROG_EXT? I have very little use use for the ROG Front Base (the ASUS proprietary display that interfaces to it), I just want to use that extra USB port it purports to have. I tried connecting a normal USB2.0 header into it and it didn't do anything. A little bit of searching brings me to here: but this doesn't exactly answer my question: How can I make use of it? And lastly, where can I buy a usb3.1 external header? I see tons of USB3 and USB2 external headers to buy but no such thing seems to exist for this new 3.1 connector.

So im almost finished building my pc. I just need to add gpu and plug the connector to the cpu. The thing is i dont know which cables to use, my psu evga supernova 650g2 came with two cpu cables one which is very short but matches the port sonce it has two squares in the middle and two on bottom corners and the normal long cable most people use which is 4x4. The thing is it doesnt seem like the 4x4 matches the shapes on the port I have already connected this 4x4 cable to psu and tied it and it would be a pain if its not the right one to connect to the cpu. Even if its not the right cable i would like to know what this cable does since they both say cpu PS. Maybe the shapes dont matter and i just connect it?

Hi All, I'm currently trying to re-sleeve all my cables in my PC, making proper custom length cables. I was wondering if it was possible to replace the PCI-E 6+2 connector with just an 8 connector. If so, how do I connect the pins. Currently (with the top clip facing up), the top left terminal on the PSU connector has two cables in it connecting to the +2 connector on the PCI-E. The bottom right terminal on the PSU connector is empty. Hopefully this makes sense, thanks.

I just bought an asus strix rog 1080 ti. When I plugged it into my pc, it didn't power on. My pc works without it, but not with it. It has indicators that show if it is powered or not, and they were green. Despite them being green, I think that it is the power that is making it not work. I connected 2 8 pin connectors to it, but they both said cpu on them. Is that the correct 8 pin for it? Also, do I have the right connectors for it on my power supply? I have a corsair hx1000i.

Hello everyone, I recently did a big upgrade on my PC, only keeping the PSU, storage drives, disk drives and case. The case is from an Acer Predator G7200, which has a full-ATX size, but not a standard case lay-out. I got some extension cables for the front I/O, USB ports, audio jacks and multi card reader, but the red LEDs on the bottom front have a strange connector. It used to get it's power through the little board for the four hot-swappable hard disks, which in turn was connected to the motherboard and PSU with a couple of SATA data and power cables. The connector of the LEDs now hangs freely inside the case (from which I removed the hot-swap bay to make room for a fan and the GPU, and I can't connect it to anything. The connector is a square with holes for 3 pins and one empty spot. It says CN9 on the little circuit board it used to be connected to, next to the connector, not sure if that means anything. So I was wondering; is there a molex to 3-pin square connector or something like that so I can get the fancy lights back? Or do I have to fabricate an extension cable myself? I have no experience with things like this at all, so I hope someone on this forum can help me out here! I included two beautiful Paint drawings of the connector and the circuit board. Thank you in advance.

So I kinda wrecked myself buying a 1080 asus strix. Didn't realize it would have two display port and two hdmi 2.0. My benq 2720z does not support hdmi2.0 at 144hz. Is there any good hdmi to dp converter with low latency? All the converters I can find convert from dp to hdmi.

After reading this blog post on USB C and seeing it start popuping up on almost all new phones and devices. Plus having Thunderbolt 3 added into the mix. We are going to be seeing a lot of confusion on this new connector. I think it is time for a new/updated Tech quickie on USB-C, hopefully help people figure out that just because it plugs in doesn't mean it will actually work, and in fact could damage something.

Hello Guys, so I need a little help with something I'm working on... I'm fairly new to the whole build your own PC world and didn't build a whole lot of systems. Also, english is not my native language, but I'll try to explain my problem as clear as possible. I got the opportunity to buy an old Lenovo ThinkCentre M82 for only 50€ from the firm my father's working at, the only problem was that the case was somewhat messed up. So the plan was to simply stuff everything from the ThinkStation into a new case, throw in a gtx750 I have laying around from my old PC and build a nice looking, budget gaming pc. I thought it would be easy and bought a Zalman T3 Mini M-ATX Tower without thinking about it too much... I ran into a few problems I could handle but there is one thing I need some help with... basically I have no Idea how to connect the Intel HD Audio connector that comes from the front panel to the mainboard. The front audio from the lenovo panel has a different connector and also the pins on the mainboard do not fit. Here are some images to better demonstrate what I'm trying to explain: http://imgur.com/a/Cse4p The front audi is the only thing not working currently and it would be really nice if I could fix it somehow.... so does anyone have an idea how it could work?

What connector does this old nintendo console need to output to a display?
Guest posted a topic in General Discussion
Hello everyone, So I have this old Nintendo console that my dad used to own and I thought that I would fire it up for the first time and play some retro games, I looked on the back of the console and there were 2 ports, my question is, what connector is used and what port is used to output to a display? I looked around the house for the specific cable, but couldnt find one, where could I find one? -
Hi all! I would like to add some more GPUs to my system, but I run out of cables that I got with my system. I tried some of the cables I had on hand, just to figure out the manufacturer used some weird connector on the power extension rail. It looks like this: https://ibb.co/hZqomG Do you know what kind of connector this is? Totally weird...

I'm doing a new build (first time) and i'm currently installing the motherboard. The motherboard is an MSI X399 and the case is an NZXT Source 530. I'm connecting the front panel connectors as per my motherboard's manual, however there doesn't seem to be an HDD LED connector... There are two reset switches which also seems strange.. Could one of these be named incorrectly and actually be the HDD LED?? One reset switch is joined with the power switch so i'm assuming that is the real reset switch and there is one separate reset switch, see attached photo. This is my first time doing this but that seems strange to me..?

This PCIE card that I found has an odd connector that I have seen before, but I do not know what it is and it is really bothering me. It looks like VGA, but it is for audio, this isn't a video card! https://www.amazon.com/RME-HDSP-9632-interface-32-Channel/dp/B0002H030I/ref=pd_sbs_267_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=80XX9PNZNB77PXARAG8Y
