I have ordered this case and should came by the end of June. I like this case more than the Fractal Design for no reason. I want to have a white and black pc so this is what I will be doing to the case. Can you guys let me know what you think about this, as this is my first time doing some think like this. What paint will be best to paint in on white and black? Is there any specific carbon that is used for PC modding? or any should be fine? http://www.cclonline.com/product/180700/CA-1E1-00M1WN-00/Cases/Thermaltake-Suppressor-F51-Gaming-Midi-Tower-Case-Black-w/-Window/CAS2298/

So let me start this off by saying that I have never done any modding or any DIY work before. I am planning to get the Phanteks Enthoo ATX and give it a new paint job. I would like to give it a colour and finish similar to the M4 A1 - S hotrod skin from CS:GO. Are their any paints like this or would i have to get a paint custom mixed? How difficult is it to disassemble and re-assemble a case like this and what tools will I need for a job like this? Also can I tint the side window on the case or would I have to buy tinted Acrylic to replace the window? http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/cswikia/images/9/91/Csgo-chop-shop-announcement-m4a1s-hot-rod.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150527145028 ^ M4 A1 - S Hotrod

Okay strait to the point, from my understanding I see no difference between the 240 and 540 cases part from that 540 has an 2 bay slots and 240 haven't. So, to save money and to buy fans (Be Quiet!) would I be able to cut out the slots on the 240 case series? I would later cover the whore case with white and black Carbon Vinyl, do you think that would work? Please tell me your opinions guys. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CC-9011070-WW-Carbide-Windowed-Airflow/dp/B00LA6Y5XQ/ref=pd_sim_sbs_147_10?ie=UTF8&refRID=0KZ5EXABYY7MJ7H3DNWW Or is there any different way that I could connect optical drive to the case?

I need help mounting my 270mm XSPC Photon Res&Pump combo into my Corsair 750D. But the case doesn't have the holes in place for me to mount the res natively. I have 240mm Radiator at the bottom with fans and 360mm rad with fans on top so the Res can't go on top or bottom. I googled and I found this DIY post http://www.overclock.net/t/1489182/xspc-photon-270-in-the-750d-diy-acrylic-mounting-plate But I haven't got the power tools to make such a mount. PS I live in New Zealand. *I don't want to 'mod' the case(it's my baby I don't want impale random holes in it)* *Although I could, I won't move the 240mm rad to the front mount* Is there anyway I can have the custom mount made and delivered to New Zealand?

Hi everybody, Just started messing around with sketchup the yesterday and I would like your suggestions on my case idea. First time I've used any CAD software since high school 8 years ago and I've been having a blast. This is one of a few ideas I have kicked around (and its a pretty rough idea but it is a work in progress). I did not sketch all the internal components just downloaded them off the 3d warehouse. Front/side fans are intakes (sp 120's) and fans on the back are exhaust (nf s12a) . I will be moving the psu 1/4" to the front (and venting fan out back) so that there is some material in the back and corner for structural purposes. I'm planning on making it completely out of acrylic, dovetailed together (unless that is unnecessary) and these http://www.parvumsystems.com/product/modding-cube. Lid will hopefully be made of one solid piece of acrylic bent to the proper angles. I've got to figure out what I will do with the pci slots as I dont really want to cut them all out. I'm thinking I will just cut out the two double spots for SLI (even though I'm only using one card right now) and fit things together so I can remove that side panel if I need to cut something else out later) I will be using the hardware in my sig (not the same mobo as in the picture, my gpu is 1" longer than pictured as well) but I might put my raijintek triton back in when I finish any suggestions/input would be greatly appreciated! hopefully I havent done anything too obsurd haha

Hello I am case modding my imac and I have a question about the ground connection on the AC input. Right so the Input has the green ground wire bolted to a metal frame that holds the logic board, hard drive, psu, and optical drive in. The case I am building will be made out of wood. So what do I do with this ground wire. Does it need to make a connection to the Logic board and other components? Thanks in advance

Is it possible to Mod a Dell Inspiron 530 case to improve better airflow? If so what tools would be useful to use to make it happen. I have now built my computer which has a Red and Black theme and a friend and i have given it a name Sapphire. Im wondering if anyone of you know of a company that will either create a small sign like a door sign or a sticker so i can mod my case with the name Sapphire on it. Thanks.

So for a razer themed build would it be better to get a green NZXT h440 put a razer sticker in the middle and put usb led on the bottom meaning that you get more green aspects than the normal h440 razer edition. The reason why I thought of doing this is because I thought the normal H440 razer edition didn't have enought green to it.

So I'm looking into making a custom PSU shroud for my Define R5. I'm trying to have a metal fabrication shop handle the initial bending and cutting, but they don't do intricate stuff, so the small cuts, grommeting, and painting is up to me. Basically I need to know if it's difficult to make precise measured cuts in aluminum sheeting with your standard Dremel. -Is there a specific attachment I should look into for cutting aluminum? For cutting, for sanding down? Rudimentary plans are below. These don't show it, but I plan to have two parallel grommeted cable holes on the right side of the top piece for GPU and motherboard stuff (Case, USB, etc..) I also want to cut out a very small nook in the top left of the "top" piece for my audio cable to route through to my mobo. I'm also open to suggestions for how to mount this thing in the case. My initial thought was to attach some 90° flat corners onto the inside bottom of the shroud, and put velcro on those and the case, but I'm not sure that'd be the best option here. *EDITED* - replaced images with final dimensions, now in good ol' inches Sorry this isn't the most specific of questions, but I'm open to any and all suggestions from anyone who's done this kind of stuff before.

Could you guys give someway of taking the fans blades off the rest of the housing. Without breaking the fans.

Honestly a real project i'm working on in my engineering a desgin course, the idea is to have the angle of the airflow bounce off the computer components having a better cooling effect on them rather then having the air move past them. the bars represent the direction of airflow. This is a micro atx design at the moment, we added a large power supply it's intended for gamming rigs and you would most likely have a power supply a simular size to this one,we're considering adding another inch for cable managment, as well as dust filter on the front of course deciding where we should put the power and resst switch. it's the first iteration design we have so far, most likely we're going to section everything out for easier building. I would appreciate feedback.

This is my first thread at LTT forums after a lot of forum stalking. Be gentle. So this is my dilemma. A friend has a free Powermac case I could have but would require extensive modding to fit an upgradable pc. Or I could buy a Corsair 450D which I like for the filtered intakes and aesthetic. I'm interested in modding no matter the case I choose, but I'm not sure if Im ready for the work it seems would be required to get a pleasing pc case out of a powermac. Does anyone have experience in modding a G5? And if so, would you say it is worth it? All opinions welcome and thank you!

SO I thought it would be cool to have a windowed case but cant stand the sight of the back of the GPU. Didnt really think of that but it was my first PC build. I started looking into ways to turn it so the fans faced out. I came across these cables but not sure what exactly I need or if any will do. This is what im trying to do..... Before After (quick photoshop hack) The metal work is no problem. Ill make a plate to go over the slot covers. Maybe even make a plate to fit multiple slot covers in case I need them in the future

I have a Fractal R4. It's good, but it's not cool enough for me. I may just Frankenstein the drive cages and the board tray. I can figure out the other stuff by going to home depot and searching around for some downloadable case templates on Reddit or some older forums. Anything that I am forgetting?

I have seen a slew of different ideas about taking a desk and mounting your hardware in a cutout of the desk. I personally like the idea and have come up with my own version to match my theme. Just wondering if there is anything i should know about before i begin. Anyone familiar with doing this?

I enjoyed the recent series of scrap yard wars, as I am sure all of you did! However, now I want MORE!!!. I am aware that they will be doing more in the future, but in an effort to hurry it along, I have a suggestion for what they could do the new scrapyard war on. Linus and Luke have to scratch build their own cases for the PC's they built in Ep 1a,b and c. Suggested Rules are as follows: -48 hours to do the entire thing, however they chose to split that is up them, (i.e. 24 to order materials and 24 to build.) -It can cost no more than £100, Canadian $190ish I believe. -The winner is the one which the forum votes as best looking, (perhaps doing this before the videos are out without naming which case is which to prevent bias? -They can have one helper Linus Media Group to help them. -They cant use materials they already own, tools are allowed though. -Linus isn't allowed to cheat. -Any others you guys can think of. Thanks for your time, Sam Definitely didn't just make this account to post this.. Also this might be in the wrong place, sorry if it is.

I'm hoping to get a bit of help here, it's been a while sense I visited the LTT site, I watch every video but haven't had the time to post here. I'm building a mini ITX into a long enough case to handle ANY gpu out there even the 295x2, though I may need dual PSU for that. The PSU the case will hold is sfx formfactor so I'll use a silverstone 600watt psu for that, but I may have to add another sfx psu elsewhere in the case internals, I'm unsure at the moment so I was hoping you guys could help me out with the GPU choice. So I've looked into many options and have decided I'll be going with one of these two: EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked XFX R9 295x2 That's it that all I've managed to find, I want the best single PCI dual slot (or single slot) GPU I can get for under $700. Also when I say single slot I use that term loosely, I will have to mod the I/O to make the single slot+blank plate into a dual slot, so I guess the thinner the GPU the better, if its possible to take the shroud off to get as close to one slot as possible, like liquid cooling a 980 I'm down with that, and while I'm talking about after market liquid cooling a GPU keep in mind if it makes sense for me to spend an extra $150 down the line for a water block I can do that. So I could do a dual slot card and later water cool it to get it closer in thickness to single slot just for airflow reason(and the side panel will be tight) its a strange build that will involve some case modding to get a beast GPU in but that's fine, if I go crazy I may just get a PCI extender and move the GPU all together, so do with that info what you want, in the current config closer to single slot as it can be the better off it is. I know the 290 was a bit hot and wont have much room for the GPU to intake/exhaust air directly below the card so the 295x2 may not be great considering heat but it seems to be a better buy ATM then the 980 Superclock, though that could be entirely wrong. Also I know the 300 series cards are sometime soon so should I wait get a 295x2 a 980 or some other card. Thanks for everyone's time, and I hope this thread can help others in the same situation, sorry if this has been answered elsewhere I was unable to find it. i7-4790k Asus Impact vii Vengeance Pro 2x8GB (1866) SX-600G (x2 possibly!!!) ---also if someone as a good idea for an extreamly low profile CPU cooler I'm open to that, but will be liquid cooling it, prob use the stock cooler for 2 months then get a waterblock for that, I have a pump, rad, res, all the stuff for a loop. Thanks, Teej
