I'm wanting to buy a new cpu but should I wait till black friday and cyber monday deals roll out?

I know, I know, this a PC-centric community, but for those that may be thinking about also getting a console (or know someone who is for the holidays), this is a pretty crazy price. Story Link: http://www.gamespot.com/articles/xbox-one-with-fallout-4-gears-of-war-extra-control/1100-6431567/ Source 2: http://www.bfads.net/Black-Friday/Dell-Home/Ad# It looks it will be live November 26th - 28th 6:59 EST (according to the back page of the ad in source 2 linked above) and can be bought at Dell.com/blackfriday Regardless if you're shopping for an XBone or not, happy xmas shopping

I've only recently acquired a way to shop online so I never really looked into what's on sale on black friday/cyber monday. And since they're coming up soon, I got a few questions before actually getting excited for it. First and foremost, anyone know if Spain or United Kingdom's amazon will celebrate black friday/ cyber monday? If not I guess that's that then lol. Second, what kind of stuff should I expect to be on sale? And for how much % off? Right now, I see myself wanting these product and am wondering if any of these could possibly be on sale: Noctua 140mm fan Spyder4Elite colorimeter 1080P IPS monitor Xbox 360 controller/Logitech equivalent Budget speakers maybe? So yea, any info would be appreciated thank you!

Is black ops 3 worth getting for an old gen console (ps3) or should I just get an older cod or an entirely different game. BTW, black ops 3 is going to be discounted to $30 for old gen on black friday. Things to consider: Amount of people online How long would it last (How long till people start to get next gen and throw old gen out) Is it worth $30 (or should I just get a different game, such as Battlefield 4) Is the multiplayer fun Thanks!

So with those cyber Monday deals I can't resist upgrading my current microphone and headphones. My current mic is one of the cheap ones you clip on your shirt, not the best. My headphones are Monoprice Hi Fi Dj Style Acoustic Pro Studio http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-Acoustic-Detachable-Durable-Headphones/dp/B007SP2CO2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448489011&sr=8-1&keywords=Monoprice+headphones&tag=linustechtips-20 So my budget over all is $160 however the lower the better. As for the microphone I want something that will sound good as I plan to start YouTube. I also need something with a stand as I will need to put it behind my monitors as there isn't room in the front. I also like a pure black, or a black/red color scheme. My setup is Black/Red but pure Black is fine. Thank You in advance. Current products I'm looking at include but not limited too. http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Yeti-USB-Microphone/dp/B00TREF98S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448487899&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=Blue+Yeti&psc=1&tag=linustechtips-20 http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Snowball-Condenser-Microphone/dp/B006DIA77E/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1448487892&sr=8-5&keywords=USB+Microphone&tag=linustechtips-20 http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-ATH-M20x-Professional-Headphones/dp/B00HVLUR18/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8&tag=linustechtips-20

So I decided, since its almost black Friday I wanted to make a central hub for all the best deals for CPU's (and coolers). So on black Friday I'll be posting good deals I spot and I'd like to see what deals other people find. I myself am looking to upgrade from my G3258 to a 4690k or better, and I'll be updating it when I spot a good CPU deal. And instead of keeping it to myself, I'll just update this thread. Here are some good deals I've spotted today: Intel 4690K for $209.99 (Processor) USD Cooler master Seidon 240M $69.99 USD (dual 120M close loop liquid cooler for $70?!) (after mail and rebate) Zalman CNPS 9900 MAX 135M 24.99 (cooler) USD (after mail and rebate) (will be updated tomorrow with more! Leave a post with deals you found!)

Hey, What all would I need to power these speakers? Would they just plug into my computer? So I was sent an email about Black Friday from corsair about their gaming peripherals when I came across this: http://i.imgur.com/Kdg81MN.jpg If you look at the pricing this 'Special Price' is higher than previous. Oh dear I hope this is a code mistake, on the other hand maybe they were hoping customers would just see 'Special Price' and won't look further. Either way, I thought this was worth a mention on here.

Not sure how successful the Alienware Alpha will be, but there's a $50 discount coming in just a few hours. At the stroke of midnight Eastern antonline will drop the price for the two base model Alienware Alpha's. They have 150 in stock for each configuration. Alienware Alpha 1 Console — $499.99 (list $550) Core i3-4130T, GeForce GTX 860M, 4GB RAM, 500GB HDD Alienware Alpha 2 Console — $649.99 (list $700) Core i3-4130T, GeForce GTX 860M, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD Some notes: These deals go live at 12AM Eastern on 11/26 - or if you're west cost 9PM Pacific on 11/25. Quantity is at 150 for both units. Seller is antoline (site), a relatively large computer distributor The Alienware Alpha technically is not a Steam Machine since the Steam OS never released back when it was suppose to this Summer, but still a relatively low price tag for the specs. Note that the GTX 860M is a MOBILE GPU and I think its comparable to a GT 660? (nvm maybe a GT 650?) Lastly the hard drive sucks, should swap out for a SSD. I've read a few reviews and they seem ehhh so honestly if you're technically proficient and don't care about the Alpha UI, this is a small cheap/chassis to upgrade outta. Gizmodo isn't exactly a place for hard tech analysis but his review seems well rounded.

I've reached a final build plan for my first build. Looking for suggestions on any changes to components or configuration in order to optimize performance while minimizing costs. Build Plan: CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($299.00 @ Canada Computers) CAD CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($79.99 @ Memory Express) CAD Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($129.99 @ Newegg) USD Memory: G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($116.99* @ Newegg) USD *with bundle discount Storage: Samsung 850 Pro Series 256GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($168.98 @ DirectCanada) CAD Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.99 @ NCIX) CAD Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card ($334.99 @ SuperBiiz) USD Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (White) ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Amazon) USD Power Supply: EVGA 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($84.99 @ NCIX US) USD Optical Drive: LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer ($42.26 @ OutletPC) USD Monitor: LG 29UB65-P 60Hz 29.0" Monitor ($409.53 @ TigerDirect) USD Fan Controller: NZXT Sentry Mix 2 Fan Controller ($27.79 @ SuperBiiz) USD Fan: TBD Keyboard: TBD Mouse: Already Owned Total: $1745.69 USD Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-11-28 07:28 EST-0500 I've mixed purchases from canada and the states as some parts were cheaper here in CA vs the USA. I'm near the border so it's not an issue to mix it up. I have a few general questions: 1) Are there any potential bottlenecks and/or compatibility issues between the components? 2) Based on expected usage (uncompressed HD video editing, multitasking, gaming), are any of the components in essence "overkill" or require upgrading? 3) Is there any way to reduce costs without sacrificing performance and quality? 4) Is it best to purchase components on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or wait until Boxing Day after Christmas? 5) Based on your personal experience, what other configurations or setups would you recommend? Appreciate the help I got from the last thread. Hopefully this one works to clear everything up and finalize the process. Open to all and any opinions. Thanks!

My question is: Will the European prices of electronics dip because of Black Friday in the US? I was wondering about it because vendors most probably buy their good in the US anyway. So if purchase prices drop, they are able to perform a stunt, offering their goods at lower prices, whilst keeping a profit. I'm looking for answers from European based builders that have been building for 2+ years. Just a thought and maybe I could score my GTX 980 G1 gaming @ a price lower then 619 euro...

Hey guys, first time builder and PC owner for that matter. Im switching from Mac to PC due to finances and gaming. Im looking to build a gaming/workstation rig for around $1200. Not including monitors. I do a lot of video and photo editing and will be doing more vfx in the future. I also making the switch from console to PC gaming and would like to run high settings. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/imaluisochoa/saved/3yQLrH This is my build so far but i need help getting the price down. The things I definitely want to keep is the i7-4790k and the GTX 970. I'm trying see what black Friday deals might be available and doing my best to buy on amazon using prime, but that's not necessary. Im am also trying to stick with Corsair as they seem to be a very trust worthy company and I like their look. I'm also considering partitioning my drives to have a Windows and OSS. Any help and suggestions are appreciated. Thank you guys!

Hey guys. Would you say this monitor is worth it? Read a review on Kitguru stating that it's quite good, but would like some input https://www.komplett.dk/aoc-28-4k-led-u2868pqu/815284 It's priced at 2.599kr, which is $436 ASUS P287Q is $629 Samsung 28D590D is $545 They're (will be buying two) for my dad and his workstation, so it won't be for gaming. Just for coding and such. Thanks in advance

Right now, newegg.ca has a sale on 480gb Intel 730 series SSD's for 239.99. I'm thinking of getting 2 to use in RAID 0 as my main storage solution on my gaming rig. Do you guys think its the right time and price to make the investment? Any advice is greatly appreciated!
