I am planning on R5 2400g gaming build and I'm stuck.Should choose a good B350 or B450 mobo or 16 gig ram?If ram is the one i choose,i'll have to buy a A320 board.Similarily if i buy a B350 mobo,i can only buy 8 gig ram.Which one should I Sacrifice? I might not buy a dgpu(1050ti or 570) soon.

Hello everyone! It's ya boy Solid Solid Gold once again! I ran into a very interesting issue with the Asus B350 Strix motherboard. Anytime I update my audio drivers, any time at all, they get borked. Audio does not work, testing tones for audio does not work. Yet the system reads a successful installation. I have tired the three latest drivers and they all have the same issue. Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix? I trying uninstalling myself. Using the setup to uninstall and every time audio dies but the drivers are working. Except they are not.

I have a 4GB stick of G.skill value ram in my PC which is rated for 2400Mhz. I have been trying to overclock it because I am using a Ryzen iGPU and want to get the best possible frame rates. I have overclocked the integrated gpu to 1550Mhz and I am now trying to OC the ram using XMP, but I cannot OC past 2666Mhz. I have tried increasing the voltage but anything over 2666MHz and the PC wont boot. There is no image on the screen either so I just have to wait for my computer to restart 3 times until it defaults down to 2133Mhz. Is my RAM just not suitable for overclocking or is it a motherbpard problem? I would rather not risk updating the BIOS but if it solves my problem I will. I want to get the ram as fast as possible until I can buy a discrete GPU My specs are: G.skill value 4gb 2400Mhz ram (F4-2400C15S-4GNT) Asrock AB350M pro4 AMD Ryzen 2200g (iGPU OC to 1550Mhz)

Is this ram compatible with my motherboard?
Sgt.Mak posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Heyyo,,, So I have B350 gaming pro motherboard with a 1st gen Ryzen 1600, And I got this ram to go with it. I wanted to know is it compatible with my motherboard? I can't seem to get it to the 2666Mhz speed... its locked at 2133Mhz. Here is a screenshot of the detailed info by cpuz: -Mak -
Hi, on Christmas day me and my girlfriend are building our first PC together! We have everything we need at the moment we're just lacking a case.our parts are:Ryzen 5 1600ASUS ROG STRIX 1070MSI Tomahawk B35016gb Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3000MhzCorsair TX650M(I have a old HDD we'd be using for now until we get a SSD)We're planning on attempting to overclock the CPU to 3.7 or 3.8ghz with the stock cooler. (We'd prefer an aftermarket cooler but our budget has exceeded a lot as it is lol)do you think this is achievable?A case we've both agreed we like is NZXT H500 but I've seen mixed reviews about the airflow of this case, I'm wondering if I'd be able to achieve ok temps with this case if I maybe add a couple of 140mm fans on the front? We also like the look of NZXT S340 but torn between the two. We'd be using the PC for gaming, streaming now and then, music production and video editing, thanks!

So I got a MSI B350 PC MATE for about 30$ used, and I ordered a Ryzen 2600 and was told the B350 may or may not be updated. Will AMD send a bootkit for me if I have a used motherboard, or will I have to buy a CPU and resell it after? And if so, what CPU is best for that? I don't know what CPUs will work out of the box and what is cheapest. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I just built my first PC. Everything went smooth with building. Everything lights up etc. HOWEVER, when i plugged the display (Samsung SF390) through HDMI it goes in infinite loop searching for a source between HDMI and AV. We tried the display on a laptop and everything runs well. We also tried the following steps: 1. Trying with one ram stick 2. Re-plug the GPU 3. Checking the cables We tried with HDMI only. Specs: Ryzen 1600x Asus b350 plus Kingston 2x4gb 2400hz Asus GTX1060 3gb WD SSD 240gb WD HDD 1TB0 Corsair VS550

Hello, I'm planning on building a PC (once I get sufficient funds) that's going to use a Ryzen 2600. Is it possible to use a B350 mothrrboard instead of a B450 ir an X470 motherboard? I've heard that you'd need a regular Zen CPU to install the BIOS for the Zen+ to work. Is this true? How would I flash the BIOS? Is it possible to contact AMD and get a low-end AM4 CPU to do it? Please help. Tell me if you need me to clarify.

So based on what I have heard you need a motherboard with a Z or a X in the chipset name to be able to overclock. I'm looking at building a budget PC and don't want an i3. So to close the preformance gap I want to overclock. I'm getting a RX 580 with it. But I have seen videos of people overclocking with a B350 chipset. So I am wondering do I need a X470 chipset board to overclock or not? Also prices on the Ryzen 3 2200g are around $100, and the RX 580 I found at around $200. I'm not getting a 1060 3gb which is lower priced (like $159) because of the memory size. Plus Ryzen + RX. (Photo of B350 chipset board reviews saying its overclockable)

I was thinking of building a budget PC when I came to the motherboard. One option was to use a Ryzen APU (Ryzen 3 2200G) and I was torn between an A320 board and a B350. For reference, here are the prices in my country, converted to USD (cheapest mobos I could find) ASRock A320M-HDV for $49.65 MSI B350M Pro-VH Plus for $75.76 How much does an overclock for the CPU give it in terms of performance, and does it justify the higher price tag? Should I put more money to better RAM?

So i recently bought a haull of Mined 1080s (6 To be exact) along with other stuff, Thing is i really want to be stupid and SLI them Problem is that i have B350 AM4 board and a wimpy R5 1400, ive played with XFire b4 with this board (Dual RX 480s and R9 280Xs) worked perfectly fine obvioulsy SLI is not supported whatsoever on B350 boards, but i wanted to know if there were something (Software Wise to Enable it) The baord im using is an Asus Prime B350-AM4 it runs a 3.0 16X and a 3.0 8X At the second PCI-E slot Now both cards are recognized and up and running, and profesional software Like Blender_Render Does perfectly use BOTH cards to Render a Scene (literally halving the time it takes) so... any insight?, is it actually possible? or do i have to spend 400$ for a new cpu/mobo combo (the cards were stupid cheap tho)

So here's the story. I am planning on building a mini ITX build and I've sourced my parts using pcpartpicker (AU). I already finalized all the parts, except that I would like to see if my local computer parts store have some of the parts I need. Now, I chose a Gigabyte B450 AORUS I (https://www.shoppingexpress.com.au/buy/gigabyte-b450-i-aorus-pro-wifi-amd-am4-itx-gaming/GA-B450-I-AORUS-PRO-WIFI) to which the guys there didn't have. However, he offered me an ASUS ROG STRIX B350-I for the same price of AU$189. Personally I trust asus products, but the b450 chipset on the gigabyte board has better specs AFAIK. Should I take up the guys offer to get the strix board or stick to the b450 gigabyte board? I'll be running a ryzen 7 2700x with a gtx 1060 6gb card plus 16gb of DDR4-3200 ram, just to let you guys know.

I'm looking for a good, but relatively budget motherboard, Considering that I have an overclocked Ryzen 5 1600x, which of the two motherboards would be better? Asrock B450 Pro4 Asus Strix B350-F I found them for really similar prices. Thank you

Hello, I am building a new computer (using only new parts), and having troubles having it to post. I connected my CPU (Ryzen 5 2600), PSU, Motherboard (MSI B350 Tomahawk), one stick of RAM, and the GPU, and, when trying to boot, I don't get any video signal. The motherboard debug LEDs (MSI EZ Debug) are lighting in the following pattern: The CPU Led turns on, followed by the RAM one (something like a quarter of a second later), then after 1 second, both turn off. And then nothing. The CPU and case fans are spinning, the GPU one starts moving but don't spin (the card has a 0dB mode, so that makes sense I suppose). I made sure of discharging myself of any static electricity by touching the case before any manipulation, made sure that all of the power cables are connected (CPU, GPU, and MOBO), I tried to use the HDMI from the motherboard and from the GPU, tried to use the other RAM stick instead, tried to reset the CMOS (even though I don't have a jumper cable so I did it with a conductive screwdriver). I don't know what to do now, does it come from a faulty component and if so, which one ? How to troubleshoot what is going on ?

So a while ago, my ram speed was running comfortable at 2933 Mhz (it was a 2x8 g.skill ripjaws v 3200mhz kit). But then, I upgraded to 32 gigs of ram (4x8 of the same memory) because I use apps like Solidworks and Oculus Medium, which are pretty RAM intensive. So now, my computer crashes at anything above 2666 Mhz, and none of the XMP profiles work either. Is there anyway to fix this? And what is the root of the problem? My motherboard? The processor? The RAM itself? I'll list those things below. Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.6Ghz 1.2750v G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200Mhz 4x8 32Gb 16-16-18-38 MSI B350 Tomahawk Motherboard

So I've recently finished my ryzen5 build. I got a 2600 + 2x8Gb of ADATA Gammix D10 ram in an ASUS B350m-a PRIME/CSM The ram stick model is the ax4u240038g16-SBG I raised the clocks peed to 2666MHz through the BIOS, bumped up the voltages to 1.22v But I keep getting around 2660/2661. I've googled around and found no info regarding OCing these ram sticks... (Maybe I haven't googled hard enough) HWiNFO is displaying a multiplier of 13.33x... if that serves as additional info. The BIOS screen says that my ram speed is 2666mhz... I did a quick torture test on AIDA to see if the clock would go up to what I am looking for, but to no avail Are these numbers right? Did I choose the wrong memory kit for my build? I was going to get a pair of GAMMIX 8gb sticks that run at 3000mhz natively, but I couldn't find them... (I got impatient because my country's currency rate is all over the place, and I bought the parts as soon as the dollar convertion rate went down a bit.) The current conversion rate for my currency (Argentinian Peso) is > 1 Freedom buck = around 38.01 Argentinian rupees... Thank you for your patience while reading this. It's probably a shameful display, but this is my first time overclocking memory... ^^"

Hello everyone, i am one of the blue team fans. why ? idk ! since i was born i had an Intel CPU and still using Intel LOL. Belive it or not i have never touched an AMD Motherboard or CPU yet and wasnt interested even to search or look at AMD Products ! but since AMD Ryzen came up everyone talking about that. i finely decided to Build my first AMD PC WOHOO! my current Build is : Q9650 @3600 8GB DDR2 Asus GTX 1050 TI 2 Samsung SSDs 256. 1 WD HDD 1TB i did my researches and decided to go with this Build: Ryzen 5 2600. 12 Threads ,16 MB cach. max turbo 3900 Asus ROG Strix B350 Gaming Motherboard 2x 8gb Corsair Vengeance 3000mhz GPU: i wont buy a new one as i already have GTX 1050TI in my old PC. i know this GPU is bit weak for my Ryzen. it will sometimes bottelneck ,sometimes not , it depends on what you doing , what resolution , what game etc... Storage : will move my 2 ssds and 1 hdd to the new build. PSU 500W from thermaltake i have a beefy Cooler for cpu. it keeps my overclocked Q9650 "100W" under 40 on full load. so as im not really familiar with AMDs stuff and the new sockets cuz i was stuck with the LGA775 since years, i have couple questions: 1- other than that the GPU isnt really a good match for the CPU , would there be any Real Bottelneck regarding Ram speeds? 2-how far can this sytem be Overclocked ? is this a good Motherboard for overclocking ? how about the Crosear RAMs? as far as i know is the B350 chepsets can be overclocked but for sure not something like 370. 3- is there any incompatibility in this Build ? and other suggestions for the Hardware ? 4- do you guys think that the Ryzen 5 2600 is overpriced RN ? should i wait bit more ? thanks in advance

Hola I am experiencing some weird system freezes after pushing my Ryzen to 4.0 GHz. System spec: MOBO: Asus Prime B350-Plus CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 obsiously RAM: DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB 3000 MHz @ 2933 MHz - 1.35V GPU: Sapphire Radeon RX580 Nitro+ PSU: 550W Seasonic Focus Plus Gold CPU cooler: AiO CoolerMaster Master Liquid 240 Lite Fan config: 2x140 intake, 1x120 + 240 AiO exhaust So what I basically do is change the core ratio from stock 34 to 40 and push the VDDCR CPU voltage up to about 1.33-1.35V in offset mode. I have also disabled the AMD's prorietary core performance boost since I didn't want to stack overclocks and set the performance bias to none. I have increased the stock VDDCR SOC voltage by 0.2V in offset mode but I am not really aware of what this parameter really does - I've just read about it. I have also set the load line calibration setting to High on both VDDCR CPU and VDDCR SOC since I've read that it allows both to get just a small voltage boost when the system is on the edge of stability. I am stresstesting my system with Aida64 Extreme and the CPU temp doesn't go above 55C after 30 minutes of 100% load. In CPU-Z I've never seen the CPU voltage go above 1.37V. The CPU power package is aroud 95-100W tops. No restarts, no bluescreens BUT sometimes when I try to do anything during the stresstest (like moving the mouse pointer around, browse through my files) my system can randomly freeze for couple of seconds and then fully recover. Cinebench R15 is pretty good with the score of 1350 but after 3-4 cycles it slows down to 350 and won't get up until i restart the system (temps are fine). I went back to the stock CPU settings after discovering that. Is that a sign of a bad overclock? What could I do to improve?

I've run out of available SATA ports on my motherboard, and I've also run out of storage space. If I can get my Intel 600p NVMe boot drive to run at PCI x2, that will enable two SATA ports on my motherboard that I can't currently use (according to the manual). SPECS: Ryzen 5 1600 Gigabyte GA-AB350M-Gaming3 running the f22 firmware Intel 600p 256GB M.2 NVMe PCI x4 SSD boot drive various storage drives The motherboard has 6 SATA ports and 1 M.2. I'm using the M.2 and 4 SATAs. The manual states the following: With a PCI x4 M.2, 4 SATA ports are enabled. With a SATA M.2, 5 SATA ports are enabled. With a PCI x2 M.2, 6 SATA ports are enabled. If I can run my 600p at x2 speeds, then those extra 2 SATA ports are freed up, but the problem is that I would need to actually buy a new harddrive to test whether it's possible, as i have no extra SATA devices. I can't find anything in the BIOS about limiting the M.2 speed, but It does list those two ports which the manual says are disabled as having no drive installed (exact message: APU PORT0 [and 1] NOT INSTALLED, ports in use by contrast are labelled CHIPSET SATA PORT0 SEAGATE xxxxxx... etc). The possible solutions to increasing my storage capacity I've worked out are: upgrade to an X370 or X470 MB for the extra chipset PCI lanes get a PCI SATA expansion card replace a perfectly good existing drive with a larger one get my 600p running at PCI x2 This last solution is preferred. Is it something that's possible? Even if you're not 100% certain about the answer for my specific hardware, a 'probably' (or 'probably not') would be very helpful.

i upgraded my pc a little while back going from an FX-6300 to a Ryzen 5 1600, I decided to get corsair Lpx ddr4 3000 MHz 2x4gb kit saying to myself "everyone says this memory just works and Ryzen is tricky with memory" well I tried XMP out of the box but it just boot looped for a min and wouldn't set properly so I gave up, but the other day I updated my bios on my MSI B350 Tomohawk motherboard and tried the auto XMP MHz and to my surprise it worked... till this morning I turned my pc on and its back to boot looping for a min then booting up at 2133 MHz got any ideas how I can fix this? similar thread:

Hey all. TLDR; Swapped motherboards to a new motherboard same model. New CPU. No image. Tried troubleshooting and at wits end. Any ideas? I bought an imbalanced build a few weeks ago. Specs were RoG Strix B350-F Ryzen 3 2200G + Wraith cooler MSI RX580 8GB OC 16GB Hyper X Predator 2933mhz Antec 620W Power Supply I decided to purchase a new CPU today as I was being bottle necked by my CPU so I purchased a Ryzen 5 2600x. Upon trying to put on the included Wraith Fan that comes with the Ryzen 5, I forgot about the backplate on the motherboard and basically destroyed my motherboard. So I ended up buying another RoG Strix B350-F and a Cooler Master ML240L water cooler for good measure. I swapped out the motherboard and everything on it. Installed the new CPU and powered on. All lights and fans are functioning but no input to screen. No BIOS. Nada. I’ve been troubleshooting with google and have unplugged everything 1 by 1 to no avail (RAM, SATA cables, graphics card (plugged HDMI into motherboard). Checked all connections. Still nothing. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance! PS. Can’t get into BIOS to do an update but my Ryzen 2200g worked without the BIOS update.
