Hello, I wanted more insight on if I'm making the right decision with what motherboard I should choose. I have a i5 6500. There are few boards that I can purchase that still allow me to BLCK the chip with a bios flash and I believe an ASRock board which a selling point is the BLCK feature. Here's what I'm looking at: ASRock Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming K4 ATX Motherboard https://www.outletpc.com/iw9471-asrock-fatal1ty-gaming-z170.html Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F332719323135 The Non K overclocking BIOS list https://overclocking.guide/intel-skylake-non-k-overclocking-bios-list/ Is it worth it to overclock the chip or should I just get a cheaper capable board? And what are the chances the bios won't able to be flashed or other concerns? The Gigabyte has a B-Clock feature on it, is that similar to the AsRock BLCK feature? Maybe it's just not worth it? Please let me know what you think I should do.

Hello, I know G Skill Sniper X is not AMD specific RAM (or is it? Because 3400Mhz version is sent by AMD as press kit). However this is the only RAM I can get within my absolute budget. Same thing with Asrock B450M Pro 4. The Asrock B350M Pro 4 is known to be fickle with RAM. But I really need to know if anyone else have tried Sniper X 3200 Mhz (F4-3200C16D-16GSX) and have it working. Personally I dont mind if it works at 3000Mhz. Or even 2800MHz. Just need to know it works at speed more than 2666MHz. Thanks and Have a Good Day

Hey all - first let me say i have read a lot on this form about this same topic, but I wanted to get some additional insight regarding my specific situation. So here we go, I bought a Aorus Gaming 7 motherboard , installed it with my 8700k, get everything set up and ran some test and noticed not only was the 8700k getting pretty warm on benchmarks, but so was the Vrm on the aorus gaming 7. I was doing a 5ghz overclock, 1.32v, stable but CPU was hitting 94c (i have a mugen 5 so i know i need better cooling solution and i am working on that now), and the Vrm was htting mid 90's also. I checked the mounting pressure on the heatsinks and still hitting around those temps. I am running realbench for 30 minutes and that those were my temps. SO because of this i am going to either RMA and get a replacement Aorus gaming 7, or i can get the Asus Maximus X hero, or the Asrock Taichi. What do you all think is the better option out of those 3? Thanks!

I've been trying to connect my PC via Ethernet for a day now. It's a regular self-built desktop. The motherboard, an ASRock AB350 Pro4 does not have on board WiFi support, so I've been using external USB sticks for awhile now. I'm looking into permanently switching to Ethernet, but I've discovered something about my computer isn't responding right. I've confirmed that the wire is functional via testing on a different device. I've tried reinstalling drives, flushing the IP config in Command Prompt, and restarting my computer and router. The lights around the Ethernet port on my PC display a solid green and blinking yellow, but the light on my router only displays a solid green. I believe there's a good chance my motherboard may be causing an issue as many others online report Ethernet problems with this board. Does anyone know where I can go from here?

I need help picking a solid mobo for around $100 or less. I'm not looking to overclock because of my locked CPU. Display port would be nice for future GPU/Monitor upgrades... I was planning on getting the MSI H370 gaming plus for $100, but heard MSI has VRM issues, so now I'm leaning more towards Asrock... Any recommendations guys? Other parts of build: -i5 8400 -Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 -8GB 2666 ddr4 RAM -1TB HDD / 250gb evo860 SSD -some rgb case fans

Just put together a new PC, running Ryzen 7 2700x with the stock Wraith Prism cooler on an X470 Taichi. It appears the motherboard isn't reading the CPU temperature correctly. Looking at HWiNFO64, it appears that the motherboard sometimes has its own CPU readings, but sometimes doesn't. Here's what it looks like when it's there: You can see the CPU reading under the motherboard is at 61 degrees but the CPU's sensors are reporting 83.1 degrees! What's even stranger is once I turn off Prime95 and the CPU goes back to idle temps, that motherboard CPU reading just goes to 0. If I restart HWiNFO64, that reading won't even show, it seems to only show up under heavy load (like Prime95 torture test) Using AsRock's A-Tuning utility, I messed around with the fan profiles to see at which temperature will the fan go up to 100%, and confirmed once I put the threshold at 61.5 degrees, the fans go up to 100% So tl;dr: Motherboard is expecting CPU to be 80 degrees before going to 100%, but the reading it's using seems to be all messed up. Any advice?

I am thinking of getting ASRock AB350M Pro 4. In this Mobo it has RGB LED header and AMD FAN LED header. In the manual it shows the same design want both written 12 V. Can I assume that both of these are the same?

I have an AB350M Pro4 with a Ryzen 1600X. The MB can be found here. This MB has four SATA 3 ports and two M.2 slots. On page 41 of the Motherboard's Manual it says, "M2_2 and SATA3_3 share lanes. If either one of them is in use, the other one will be disabled". My question is, does this mean if I put an M.2 drive in that M2_2 slot, the SATA3_3 slot will then be disabled or does it mean that the system will only be able to access either the M2_2 or SATA3_3 at any given time as opposed to simultaneous access? Thanks for your help.

I've recently build a new PC with a M.2 drive (Intel 256GB 545s Serie M.2 80mm) and an ASRock H310M-HDV/M.2 (it's a mini-PC). It seems to boot fine after install, but whenever I turn shut down the PC, I only get to see the ASRock logo. Buttons to enter the BIOS (F2 or DEL), Fastboot (F11) or Instant Flash (F6) don't respond. Every now and then the F6 will respond, but away from that the system won't boot. My bios also doesn't detect the M.2 disk from time to time, which is perhaps the cause of the issue? I've verified that the M.2 slot is working by inserting a different m.2 disk (the one I have in my PC, same M.2 as the one I orderen), and also verified that the M.2 disk itself is working (by sticking it in my PC which has a prev-gen mobo). I'm lost for help: perhaps anyone has an idea?

So I have a brand new Asrock B450M-HDV motherboard and I just build a pc in it but I found a bug where if I put the computer to sleep and wake it up the ethernet port will no longer work. I'm using the stock bios and I also noticed that when the computers in sleep mode the power LED blinks on and off (I'm guessing this is by design though). I need to fix this because not having internet after waking my computer from sleep is annoying.

Hi there, I'd like to upgrade my PC a little bit and for some reason I was thinking of a ryzen. Here is my current build: Intel Xeon E3-1230v3 Thermalright Macho Rev. A Gigabyte H87M-D3H Intel H87 480 Watt be quiet! Straight Power E9 CM GTX 1070 2x Samsung Evo 120GB 2TB HDD 16GB DDR3 Aerocool DS Cube case Why upgrade? I don't really have a MUST UPGRADE reason, but everything (except the 1070) is 4 1/2 years old now. And I kinda like the idea of upgrading to the newest gen. The systems runs ok for now. I like to do multiple things at once, so playing in windowed (or borderless) mode and surfing and/or having an IDE for web dev open is a must for me. That is why I was eyeballing the Ryzen 5 2600. I already was looking around and found these components. AMD Ryzen 5 2600 6x 3.40GHz So.AM4 BOX Keeping my Macho or upgrading to some other cooler I want to OC to about 4 GHz 250GB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 2280 Boot drive 1000GB Crucial MX500 and getting rid of the HDD, I am not even near 1 TB on that drive 16GB G.Skill RipJaws V Black DDR4-3200 Prices vary soo much, this one was reasonable ASRock B450M Pro4 AMD B450 mATX mATX is a must since I don't want to get a new case USB 3.1 and a USB-C Port is also a must since this should be something that can last another 4-5 years To these parts I got some questions in hope to find some answers here Is the Ryzen 5 2600 the right choice? I read OCing the 2600 gives a little better performance than the 2600X, and if I can use my Macho I would save a little bit Core i5 looks good as well, don't really know how big the difference between 6 and 12 threads really is Prices of DDR4 ram are very inconsistent and can get crazy above 3200. Does anyone have experience with the G.Skill RipJaws? The ASRock seems very good, having 1x 3.1 and 1x USB-C, 4x USB 3 and 2x USB 2 I think I am decked out. Any experience? I read OC is not too good on this one because of lower power consumtion. I wouldn't really mind as long as I can get above the 2600X with OC Newer parts often have more efficient power consumption, so the 480W power supple should be sufficient, right? So yea, that is my plan. Any thoughts and answers to my questions are very appreciated. Thanks, MJ PS. What I forgot to mention, I am an silence enthusiast. So replacing a part for a quieter one is something I would always consider.

So tonight my desktop had the nerve to fail while I was getting shredded by a team of 4 in a battle royal. Grr. It was like the lights went out. The computer went black and stone cold. I thought the breaker might have flipped as we had some lighting earlier but my surge protector was still on and many (much more delicate) components on the same outlet are just fine. I turned the PSU off, then back on. Green light on the Mobo. Good. Hit power (and here's the fun part) 2 fans spin briefly and the RGB ring on my Corsair pump flash for a second. But otherwise no action. Any troubleshooting tips for isolating the PSU (which is a 550W Corsair, not 2 months old) or the Mobo (a 4 year old ASRock)? Thank you guys!

Hi helpful people, I am having a bit of trouble. So, recently I've encountered some strange issues with my USB-connected devices, like my keyboard. Or like recently, my external sound card. When I start my computer, my keyboard sometimes doesn't light up and I have to replug it to fix the issue. I've never seen this as a problem, but recently I've been annoyed by my USB sound card not working when I boot into windows. As with the keyboard, I usually replug it and after 5 seconds it works again. Now, this is quite annoying, as every time I replug it, Nvidia Shadowplay decides that my mic is gone. (Don't know how and why) Also when I save replays without re-visiting the settings, there is not even in-game sound on the recordings. I've tried reinstalling the audio drivers to see if that was the problem, but it persists. So it must be something with the USB ports, my motherboard or the power delivery. I have ordered a replacement sound card to cancel out the possibility of a faulty USB cable... its due to arrive tomorrow (wed) Specs or Devices: ASRock B350 ITX Fatality Creative Soundblaster X-Fi HD Gigabyte Force K85 bequiet! Pure Power 10 500W Any experience or help on this?

Will Coffee Lake work on AsRock B250 pro4 First of all, I know by default no, but I've seen some articles about modders being able to run an i3 8100 on a Z270 board My question is Will it work on B250 Chipset too? If so what are download links and tutorials.

After working perfectly fine yesterday, I turned on my pc today and it seemed to post normally except I had no display. After turning off and checking my HDMI cable I started it again, all fans and lights turned on for a split second and then turned off. I'm using: [i7 8700k (overclocked to 5.0ghz), asrock fatal1ty z370 itx mobo, evga gtx 960, 1000w bronze cooler master psu, 2x8gb corsair vengeance lpx ddr4, samsung 850 evo, toshiba 7200rpm hdd, windows 10 education]. Since then, every time I startup my pc, it turns on for only a split second before turning off. Will I need to rma my motherboard/CPU? Or is there a solution that I'm not seeing? The only old part in my build is the PSU which I got used and I think is over 4 years old, everything else is relatively new, my main concern is whether the old psu has damaged the mobo. What I've tried: (No change whatsoever after each) - Removing all expansion cards and peripherals - Clearing CMOS - No damaged capacitors - Double checked 24 pin and 8 pin connectors - No obvious shorts - Took motherboard out of case - Tried different RAM, PSU, CPU fan - No bent socket pins or burnt cpu contacts - Reseated CPU and RAM Hopefully there's something I'm missing, is there anything else to check? Also is there any way an old PSU could damage components even when the computer is turned off and surge protected? Any help is appreciated.

Hello guys, this is gonna be my first time building a PC. So I wanna ask you guys for an opinion of my building lists. Ryzen 3 2200G Asrock AB350M Pro4 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Single Channel (Planning to upgrade soon) WD Green 120GB M.2 SSD for OS Seagate Barracuda 1TB I am going to upgrade to GTX 1050 Ti soon since I don't have enough money yet. So yeah.. is it going to bottleneck the system? Total price (GTX 1050 Ti excluded) is about $350 in my country. Thanks. *pardon my english*

What's the difference between x370 and b450, besides former needing a bios update to run Ryzen 2nd gen, while latter can do it out of the box? Why is asrock x370 killer sli still more expensive than MSI B450M PRO-VDH for example (atleast at local stores)?

This is my Board https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITXac/index.asp#Specification and this is my CPU Ryzen 7 2700X (YD270XBGM88AF) they are brand new The MB didnt support the CPU withouth a BIOS update so I took this board to a repair shop where they used an older CPU a A6 or A8 dont remember.. The system started up, but only with the onboard graphics didnt support the 1080TI I just bought... could be the PSU no idea So they installed Win 10 in order to update the bios and the installed thay latest BIOS from the asrock site the Version is 4.70 and they told me it had the 4.40 So after the BIOS update the system didnt start up but got into an infinite boot fans got on and off after a few seconds They told me this board perhaps is not okay and they offered me to re-write the BIOS to the original version 4.40 but for that they needed not the official BIOS version from the site but a file wioth a BIN extension file in order touse their BOOT writer device So I went to the asrock site and learned this.. I dont need the 4.70 version i could go either with 4.50 or 4.60 I think I preffer 4.50 version cause os the clock and voltage And also learned this https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/Fatal1ty AB350 Gaming-ITXac/index.asp#BIOS BIOS versions 4.7 and 4.5 had this red warning to update first to a previous version before if u had an older BIOS but the one I had they told it was the 4.40, so the red warning shouldnt be an issue BUT again, since I can not boot, they will need that BIN File to use their BIOS re-writer I cant get a new board cause is MINI ITX and those are not available here So any help could be great..
