Hi there! My question is: Today I bought a new GTX 970, to replace my existing GTX 960 on my first build. (EVGA GTX 960 FTW) (EVGA GTX 970 SSC) My first thought was that I probably need to Uninstall the 960 Drivers before Installing the New 970 Drivers. But Nvidia Is saying that it is "Not Necessary" or that they use the "Same" drivers... (Both GTX 960 & 970) Is this True? All I need to do Is physically replace the 960, with the 970? Any other Tips? Thanks! My Specs: I5-4690K Asus Z97-A Mobo 8GB (2x4) 1600 RAM Corsair 650CX PSU 120GB SSD (OS) 2x 1TB HDD

While using my GTX 960 SSC from EVGA to play a while ago I noticed that the left cooling fan began making this weird clicking noise at reliable periods as the fan spun around, this is a problem as the noise is annoying as hell. I dont have a quiet computer by far but it was too much. I committed GPU heresy and spun each fan around with a flick of the finger to make sure it was only one of the fans (after taking it out and all that jazz). I thought it might have been one of the cooling fins on the heat sync that had gone out of whack and was touching the fan maybe but it doesn't appear to be. it could be something inside the bearings of the fan but I dont have the expertise or luck to take the thing apart and not mess it up putting it back together again. Thanks for any help in advance.

What's the difference? can you use the 960 in todays gaming age to run at high/ultra 1080p (Black ops 3, gta V , Fallout 4)

What's the difference? in this day and age is there any worry with running current gen games (gta 5, black ops 3, fallout 4 ect) at ultra or at high? (1080p)

Hi everyone, Just wanted to get opinions on whether I should get a 950 or 960, as the title says. I'm content with 30/40 fps at 1080p, and play games such as Runescape, Rocket League, Lego, and at the most GTA 5 at high (not ultra) settings. Heck, I'm fine with medium settings for some games. I'd also like to know whether power consumption between the 2 cards is a big difference, as I want to be as energy efficient as possible. In other words I don't want to waste money on a card that won't be optimized to it's full potential. Here are my other specs if it helps: Intel® Core™i5 Quad Core Processor i5-4690 ASUS® Z97-P: ATX, LG1150, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs 16GB Kingston DUAL-DDR3 250GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD 2TB WD BLACK WD2003FZEX Many thanks.

Basically I've been on the fence about an R9 380 or a GTX 960 for ages. Both I'm looking at 4GB models. I've found an R9 380 4GB windforce 2x for £170 and a G1 Gaming 960 for the same price. Anyone know which will perform better once overclocked. Purely a gaming build with an i3-4170 and 8GB of RAM.

So I'm building a computer and I do not have the largest budget, the best graphics card I have found for the price is a GTX 950 from ASUS, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a card that is better in performance for about the same cost? I am looking for a Nvidia based card but possibly open to an AMD based card if I like it. (Current cost is about $160 USD)

Hi everyone in the world of LTT I was looking at building a budget PC for myself, I've read up on some benchmarks and saw that what I've chosen is pretty good in the price per performance category and I was wondering if I could get any feed back from anyone that has these components: Intel i5 4590 MSI GTX 960 (2gb version) HyperX Fury @ 1866 MHz ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer Here's the link to the build on PCPartPicker: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bYCqt6

Someone plz help me find this card. http://www.galax.net/GLOBAL/960exocw_4gb.html I can puchase the 2GB version from GALAX, but I cannot for the life of me find the 4GB version anywhere besides the GALAX site. Thanks in advance!

What is the best white 960 available? I'd like 4GB and I found this http://www.galax.net/GLOBAL/960exocw_4gb.html but I can't find anywhere to purchase it. Any other suggestions? I know I could paint the card, but I don't trust myself enough to do that. Also, what would be the AMD equivalent of a 960 and which would you guys suggest? Thanks in advance!

Should I go with 1 gtx970 4GB now, or go with 1 gtx960 4GB now and in the future add a second one?
-
Do you think it's a good idea (if possible) to mix a 4GB Gigabyte G1 GTX970 with a 4GB Asus Strix GTX960 in SLI?

Hello! This is my first Post and basicly a Feedback / Review of Linus Video from January this Year in regards of changing Stock-Compund on a GPU. I'm using my trusty Gainward GTX960 GLH for some times now and Temps were always good. Idle i had about 30°C (86°F) and under Load whilst Gaming @ 1080p / Ultra on BF4 it was somewhat between 67-70ish always depending on how much Stuff is going on. I think i got some Luck on the Chip-Lottery because i was able to push the Card to +135mhz Core and +450Mhz Memory (STABLE) giving me a avrg. 10FPS more in Game and Benchmarks compared to Stock speed whilst having the temp's mentioned above. Now after watching that Video i was wondering.. maybe i can push the card even more due to potential lower Temps or just feeling more comfortable with my current OC and having maybe lower temps with that! So i used Notctua NT-H1 on my GPU and after some curing-time my card runs now on same OC with lower Temps! Idle: 28°C Full Load: 65°C (BF4) now whilst this doesnt seem much in numbers i think its still a nice improvement specially in terms of potential throttleling or for people that use TurboBoost I hope this small insight helps some people that have considered doing the same to their respective GPU!

Which is the better choice considering the following: 1. I care about my electricity builds. 2. I live in the UK and the r9 380 is £10 more 3. I might get into blender so might want GPU accelerated renders. 4. I play CSGO 5. I play X-Plane 6. I use Autocad 7. Might get an Nvidia shield in the future if I were to get a 960 I know the r9 380 is better value but it doesn't support CUDA so what is the best GPU for my case. EDIT: I am getting the 4gb one in either case.

I am saving up to buy an asus strix gtx 960. Now, it does come in two variants 2gb and 4gb. i might be able to squeeze a little more out of my budget to get a 4gb version... But, is it worth it? my workload includes gaming at 1080p with moderately heavy games and GTA 5 is a must... not a very hardcore gamer Editing videos on Premier Pro and moderate use of after effects. thnx

Hi, I want to buy a GeForce GTX 960 however the one that is in my [limited] price range is a reference card and by a company I've never heard of... I need to know two things, first of which is "What are the differences between a reference card and a non-reference card?" and the second is "Does the company matter? Really shouldn't it just matter if it's AMD or NVIDIA?" Link to the card BTW: The name of the company that made this card is called 'Palit'...

I now have a 3 year old setup which needs upgrading and I don't know which gpu should I get. I'm thinking about the 970 gigabyte g1 gaming edition. my current setup: i5-3330 (not overclocked) with air cooling 2x4 gb ddr3 1333mhz kingston ram an overclocked sapphire hd7790 with 2 gigs of vram all of that on a gigabyte h77 ds3h motherboard I only use 1080p, and I won't upgrade for a while. I'm willing to upgrade my psu as well (it's a 550w chieftec now).

If it reaches 99% is that perfect or should I reduce settings?

So here's the thing: I currently have an EVGA GTX 960 SSC, which has 4GB of VRAM, I plan on (In the short term) getting a second 960 of the same model in order to acheive boosted speeds, the already higher VRAM than the standard 960 should help it scale a bit better with SLI. I was wondering, if in the Long term I end up investing in a 980 after I use the dual 960s for a while, would I be able to add the 980 on top of the two 960s since all 3 cards would share the same amount of VRAM (4GB)? P.S. I read somewhere that Dual 960s is close to the speed of a single 980, so if this works, it sounds like my compute power would be very high. P.S.S. Think it would run Star Citizen well? EDIT: Now that I think about it, this is a ridiculous question, but could make for interesting discussion, so go ahead. Haha.

Am I missing something here? I just installed folding @ home and I see that I'm getting very low ppd (relative to what I've seen online). What gives? my specs are as follows: i5 4460 h97 mobo gtx 960 strix I apologize in advance for my possible unfathomable ignorance.

So, I have an Nvidia GTX 960 GPU in my current Tower and I was wondering whether it is worth upgrading it, I have heard mixed opinions from a lot of people saying I should, and shouldn't. If so, What would be the best gpu to upgrade to?

Good evening, I'm planning on buying a laptop for college, mostly I use programs like Adobe and Blender Cyles, I also want to be able to handle some nice gaming on my laptop, and for this I had chosen, to go with a Clevo P650RE6 as configured below: Also before continuing I have a desktop so I don't need it to be a mobile workstation so to say but don't want to postpone somewhat heavier works 'till I get home like having to wait till I arrive at home to do some 3D's mesh materials properly because I couldn't preview render it in classes etc... and I don't need much storage as I keep all data in my desktop everyday, so in the laptop I would only have OS, Adobe CC, Blender, a few games (3 or 4) and nothing else, no music, no downloads, no videos etc... Price 1339€ 15" 1080P IPS 25mm thick i7 6700HQ GTX 970M 6GB 8GB DDR4 2400Mhz (SINGLE STICK and I do not wish for any more than that much ram) 250GB Crucial MX200 M.2 Sata Killer 1535 AC Wriless Lan + Bluetooth 4.0 CC Advanced Thermal CC LCD Pro Calibration This is the computer's page: http://www.clevocenter.com/central-configuradores/todos/p650re6.html (Might be in Portuguese sorry) However a friend of mine who works in a computer store said he didn't recommend this because the computer's too slim for a 970M and it will overheat and he doesn't trust much the brand since it's not Alienware. (Which imo doesn't make laptops, it makes some weird HULK thing thicker than a tumor) I am also very disgusted by thick computers but they don't have to be as thin as a Macbook. So he recommended that I bought the Asus GL552VW with: Price 1151€ 15" 1080p ~33mm thick (One phone Thicker) i7 6700HQ (Same CPU) GTX 960M 2GB (960m not 970m) RAM 16GB DDR4 (I think this is too much ram for a laptop...considering specially I still only have 8gb on my desktop ) 1tb 7200rpm + 128GB SSD (No idea what I'd do with that 1tb...) LAN 802.11a/g/n/ac dual band + Bluetooth 4.0 Thing is I might have looked too much into the 970M lately and also the asus seems too thick for my taste. Which would you recommend? Do you think the Clevo one's gpu will overheat or should it be fine (I won't be overclocking any of the laptop's components.) Also apparently my desktop PSU needs to be replaced so I'll have no desktop for about a month while the warranty runs their tests. And it will be a month with classes so work to do...

Hi, just wanted to ask people who have the 960 how well they can run BF4 and usually what your settings are e.g at medium I can average 100 fps or so.

GTX 960 2GB or 4GB (Small Price Difference)
W E S T V I R G I N I A posted a topic in Graphics Cards
I am planning on buying a GTX 960 in a month or so when I have enough money and at the moment I am torn between a Gigabyte GTX 960 Windforce 2x 4GB model and a KFA2 (Galax, for all you Americans out there) GTX 960 EXOC Black. The Gigabyte 4GB is £170 and the KFA2 card is £160. Gigabyte: http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5401#ov KFA2: http://galax.net/KFA2/960exoc.html Which do you guys think I should go for? All opinions wanted (except you, Mr. 'Oh the R9 380 is sooo much better, just get that'; I don't want it!!!) -

This is not a hardcore gaming machine nor is it a budget end build. My current budget is around 1400USD for the tower alone (always ready to raise my budget as I'm working), the rest are used to buy my peripherals and monitor. Main thing I do on my pc is using ableton and fl studio for audio creation, I also edit/create pictures and videos mainly for music cover art & audio reactor videos. The only game I play from time to time is Dota 2 & SOMETIMES Mortal Kombat. These are the reasons why I bought the 960 from galax. -> http://galaxstore.net/GALAX-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-960-EXOC-White-Edition-2GB--1367-MHZ-Boost-Clock_p_30.html I want to overclock, that's the reason for the AIO. And yes I know I can get cheaper key for my new windows, just putting it there. I consider every part with the aesthetics in mind. This will be built 2 weeks later and all the price will vary as I'm buying the rest of my parts locally. (I live in Singapore). Now will the glorious pc master race enlighten me for one last time before I move on from my i5-2410M + 410M 5 year old laptop.
