Hello all! I recently upgraded from a GTX 750 ti FTW edition, to an EVGA GTX 960 (SSC). With my 750ti, most of my games were fine, just had to play on lower graphic settings than desired, so my friend gave me his GTX 960 at a decent cost. I watched him playing PubG just the other day after he offered it to me, so, no, I didn't buy a defected card. Anyway.... After installing my new GPU, I ran Nvidia drivers to update, restarted my computer and opened up Overwatch...FPS was decimated to 10-40. So I decided to run DDU, uninstall the driver and reinstall....same issue. I made sure that this is happening on other games as well, and it is. CSGO, Dead by Daylight and Overwatch all have new FPS issues that were not present with my old card. I attempted to going back to old drivers, but that didn't seem to help. The drivers I had when the problem initially started were on the newest drivers that were released just about a week ago. I also tried this with the previous drivers (I think it was 397.83, whatever came out in May of 2018). The same issue persists. I've even followed some advice online about changing the power management settings in Nvidia Control Panel > 3D Settings. Even after changing this to maximum, the same issue is still here. I've gone to /r/techsupport but replies seem to be slow tonight and after 2 hours of trying to fix this, I've decided to try LinusTechTips forum! Anyone have any ideas at all? I'm gonna try one more thing...I'm gonna try swapping to my old RAM which I replaced a few weeks ago. However, my game was running fine with my new RAM and my GTX 750ti. I will update the thread once I do this and test it. SPECS---- ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 MOBO Intel 3570k CPU (No OC) 16GB RAM @ 2133Mhz 650 Watt PSU (I think it's a Cooler Master GX series)

In December of 2017 I built the system listed in my signature with a 500 GB Samsung 960 EVO as my main drive. It generally performs well but is showing bios boot times higher than that of the system I used previously (with an 850 EVO and a 6700k) at 21-22 seconds compared to 17-18 (the autostart services are very similar). Furthermore, the latency listed in the task manager is often several ms and game loads often take longer than on the intel system. Samsung magician reports the latest version of the firmware (3B7QCXE7) but articles such as this date it back to late 2017 and report performance issues with it. I am running the latest version of windows 10. I'm at a loss here unless the issue is related to Ryzen (I have installed chipset drivers).

I decided it was about time I sign up for a forum where I can finally get opinions on what I should do with my hardware, since I love Linus Tech Tips I thought this would be the best place to start. So hello! I have an issue; I have two 960s (2GB each) one EVGA FTW 960 and an EVGA SSC 960 just laying around, haven't used them since the 10 series cards came out. Currently I have a 1060 Founders Edition (6GB) installed. Which would be better? The two bridged 960s, or single 1060? Originally I had the FTW in my PC since mid-2015 and they SSC in my brothers computer since 2016. (Power consumption is not an issue for me)

I've been looking at graphics cards and I've found a 950 and a 960 at about 67 euro each, I've got an i7-860 and I'm planning on overclocking it. Which would be better considering my PSU is only 400 watts? on a side note how big would a difference be between 2 and 4 GB of ram?

Hey guys, so sytem specs are the following: - Z97 Gaming 5 motherboard - 2X GTX MSI Nvidia 960s -850 corsair PSU -I7-4790K Intel CPU - 32GB of DDR3 OS - Windows 10 The second 960 wont run while playing overwatch. I've confirmed this with MSI afterburner which can see the card but has no increase in power nor temp to it while in game. Is there a setting I'm missing or software even for SLI? I have updated GPU drivers and motherboard bios.

So I've been trying to squeeze all the performance I can out of my 960 (4GB model) for PUBG, as the game often stutters; shown in my screenshot below [1] Also as seen in the screenshot below, I've managed to get my VRAM clock +756MHz and that appears to be the limit. Trying to get my VRAM any higher results in... this [2] Sadly, I can't seem to overclock my Core up any higher than about 50MHz.. and I'm not really sure on if (or how) to overvolt. I'm fine with my VRAM being as high as it is.. I'm not even sure if that sort of OC is normal. Really want to OC my Core more, though. Suggestions welcome. [1] [2]

Hi All Recently picked up a Gigabyte GTX 960 G1 4GB for my media pc running on a 4k@60hz Tv. I'm having issues running it at the full 60hz. My GTX 1070 rig registers the full 4k@60hz res, with no issues at all. Is there any way for me to confirm the GTX 960 is running at the full Hdmi 2.0 standard? I've tried the earliest, most recent, and middle drivers for the GPU, and have tried forcing a custom resolution of 4k@60hz via Nvidia control panel. I thought potentially the HDMI port on the gpu could be faulty, or isnt really HDMI 2.0, so I borrowed a HDMI to DP cable and tried using the display port on my GPU. Still no luck. If anyone has any information that may help I'd glady appreciate it! Thanks

Hi community! I'm from Vietnam and have roughly $130-$140 to spend on an used graphics card - and since i'm building a new rigs, i'm getting a new power supply In Vietnam, a 650W power supply is ~$5 more expensive than a 550W one. Both are Bronze rated so quality wise, it's decent. Remove the PSU factor I've gathered choices, and most compelling amongst are GTX960 Windforce G1 or MSi 2 fans version(~$150) and R9 280X MSi Twin Frozr(~$125). If i'm going with the 960 then i'll use the 550W PSU & if i'm going with the 280X i'll use a 650W one I use air conditioner but don't want to spend a hell lot in electricity bills & I play CS:GO, GTA V, Battlefield 4, Fortnite, Minecraft & except for Minecraft, which i'll be playing on Max, I play mainly on Low/Medium 1080p. And a bit of streaming too, i'll use GPU acceleration for encoding to YouTube. Will 2GB on 960 kill the gameplay? Will 280X's 250W TDP kill my electricity bills? Which one should I choose? Thanks!<I will have adequate cooling within my case>

I was going to send my friend my EVGA 960 as I didn't need it as it was just in a box gathering dust. I recently tested it on my Workstation PC and at first, I was having trouble getting a signal from it. Now I seem to be getting this extremely strange pixel thingy Idk how to describe it. Mute the sound as I have my fan on. Also, ignore the background

I currently have an HP Phoenix desktop with 16 gb ram and a Nvidia GeForce 960. However, I'm growing a bit tired of my 960 constantly running on 99% load on all of the games I play. I'm looking for a good gaming graphics card, preferably GeForce, with good cooling, and in a price range of $350-$500. I need a graphics card that I can rely on, and that will last me. Any suggestions?

So, I was originally running a GTX 1080 Ti FE, though unfortunately one day it decided to die and wouldnt even let the motherboard POST with it connected up, same happened trying it in multiple different boards, anyway, it's currently in RMA and everyone knows the situation with the shortage of stock with GPUs. I've been running a GTX 960 2GB, and it's proving to be quite a beast, handling pretty much any game I throw at it at 4K, managing to kick out at leat 60-100 FPS at low-medium settings. Now, the 2GB version of these cards is very cheap (presumably because crypto-mining people need 4GB cards for ethhash), and I could probably pick up a 2nd card for ~£90 (still a tad expensive). Assuming the 1080 Ti will take another 1-2 weeks to come back from RMA, would this be a good choice, or is it just a waste? I'd just like to turn the settings up a little more in some games. TL:DR; Wait 1-2 weeks (possibly more) for my 1080 Ti to come back from RMA, Or Get a 2nd GTX 960 2GB for SLI with my existing one for fairly cheap?

Alright so this is what happened: I upgraded to a 1080 from a 960. My friend who has an older Dell Xps 8700, had a gt 720. That graphics card stopped working, so he bought my own 960. Now he says that he is having issues getting it to boot, but I know for a fact that the card is working. I tested it today on my own system. Is it compatible with his build? Specs are: 4790, 8GB ddr3, 1TB HDD, Gt 720 (now removed), Dell Wireless-N 1704 802.11bgn, bluetooth 4.0. I really want him to be able to play PUBG with me. Is he lacking enough PCIE lanes to use it?

I see alot of these fake ebay GTX 960's that are typically either GTS 450's or GTX 560's. I am actually trying to piece together a super cheap ( like under $70) PC that can basically run all of the games in the rockstar humble bundle and both of those older cards look perfect. My question is, is it possible to buy one of these fake cards, get the refund from ebay/paypal and then flash the proper bios to have a fully functional card or are these cards totally FUBAR when you get them? I know these cards are fairly inexpensive in general but hey, I'd take one for free vs shelling out 3/4 of the challenge budget on one. ( btw the breakdown of what I got is essentially an optiplex 780 with 4gb of RAM and Windows 7 I got for $20 and possibly $20 on a power supply (after rebates) and the rest on a GPU or, if this works out, more ram).

I have 2 gtx 960s what should I sell them or trade?
AtomicWaveBlast posted a topic in Graphics Cards
So I have dual gtx 960 both evga one is FTW and one SSC so what should I do with them? trade for a gtx 1060 +$20 or something? -
I've recently been building my new rig, the only part left to upgrade other than the monitor is my GPU. The 960 is still okay for 1080p 60hz but I'm looking at a 1440p 60hz panel as an upgrade. The 980ti is currently around £280-£320 and the cheapest new 1070 is £380. Is it worth the extra £100, or should I take a 980ti and save some money? UPDATE: I got an MSI 980ti for £290, was definitely the better choice with the whole cryptocurrency debacle right now. Thanks!

So I currently have a GTX 960 with 4GB of VRAM. I've been planning to upgrade to a GTX 1060. My question is, is it a worthy upgrade? Also one thing that I'm not sure about is that I would basically be downgrading on the VRAM amount since I would be buying a 3GB model of a 1060. I would really appreciate any thoughts on this topic and I'm also open for other graphics card upgrade suggestions!

I have 2 Philips BDM3270 32 inch wqhd monitors that are being powered by a 2gb GTX 960. This is used solely for productivity and not gaming. The issues is that the GPU won't detect the monitors, or something (I'm not really sure), and no image will be displayed. The message "no video input" (paraphrasing) shows up not the not connected one. This happens very sparodically with no warning and then will fix itself without any explanation. Is this a GPU or monitor issue. And does anyone have any similar experiences/ solutions. Thanks

I am upgrading my brothers computer for his birthday. One of the things i wanted to upgrade is the case, with the Corsair carbide air 240. But i have seen a lot of complaints that it cant take wider graphic cards.. My brother has a 960 (https://www.asus.com/us/Graphics-Cards/TURBO-GTX960-OC-4GD5/specifications/) which i think is like 12,1cm wide.. Will it fit?

Hi, I've found a 780Ti AMP! 3GB card for around $145 online, and I was wondering whether this would be a worthy upgrade from my 4GB 960 FTW, especially since I would be loosing a gig of vram. Thanks

Hey guys I got a good deal on a m.2 nvme yesterday. It was a Samsung 960 EVO 250GB. It arrived today so i resetted windows on my old SSD and HDD and disconnected them from the Motherboard. Then i installed the m.2 SSD in to the m.2 Slot on my motherboard. In the BIOS it gets recognized, but one i boot in to my USB Stick and try to install windows on it, it just says that windows cant be installed on "Laufwerk 0 Partition 1" (Its a german install). I already updated the BIOS and tryed both the RAID mode and the AHCI (or something like that) mode. Neither of those worked. Motherboard: MSI Gaming Carbon Pro Z270 CPU: i7-7700k GPU: 2x 960 SLI Thanks for helping out!

Hi I could really use some help on deciding on what to upgrade my GPU to, currently have a ASUS GTX 750ti, but I now have $260/£200 to spend on upgrading, and I already upgraded my CPU to a i5-6500 I'm not a huge "gamer", and I don't play a lot of Fps heavy titles, most consuming I'd play are Rust and GTAV I went through some sites, looking around for brand new ones, and I've been looking these cards : https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00SKWIISQ/ref=ox_sc_act_image_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B012G7VCGU/ref=ox_sc_act_image_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00UHHXXH8/ref=ox_sc_act_image_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE#nav-search-keywords And https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B01KHWOB78/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE But I just can't decide if I want 2,3 or 4 GBs, if I want a 1060 or 960, or if I should even go this high Thanks

Any suggestions on my build, will only be using it for light/moderately demanding games at 1080p. Open to any ideas but my max budget is around $900 aud http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/sqzC8K
