These are all new parts for a new PC build. When I try to POST, nothing on the screen happens, no fans spin at all (not even the CPU fan). The only two things that happen is this: There's a single click sound somewhere in the system when I press power and on my motherboard on the EZ Debug LED, there's a solid clear white LED that shows up next to the CPU indicator. Nothing else at all happens when I press power. Here are pics of the LED. Hi, newbie here. Well sort of. One that has read a lot, but doesn't have much experience. I have overclocked my 8600k at 4.8 Ghz at 1.3 vcore. XMP profile is turned on (Ram). LLC is set to level 5. Yes, it is an Asus MB (z370-f). All cores are synced. I have settled on applying adaptive vcore after my testing done on manuel vcore. Adaptive vcore does to my understanding make the vcore scale down while not being needed. Unlike overclocks with manual vcore. At manual vcore your clock speed might scale down depending on your windows power options, C state and Intel SpeedStep settings. But the vcore stays the same. In the beginning I had issues with adaptive vcore not sticking to the value I applied. I would do 1.3 volts vcore. When I then boot the vcore value in HWmonitor is 1.45-1.48 volts. But I have found that if I put Asus Multicore Enhancement on "Auto" from recommended "disabled" the applied adaptive vcore is respected and it stays at the 1.3 volts. Have anyone else had the same experience with adaptive vcore? Why does adaptive not function as I intend while Asus multicore enhacement is disabled?

I currently have i5 6600 non k on a z170 board, gtx 1060 6gb oc version ( already overclocked to highest settings), 2 x 4gb 2400 vengance ram sticks, 240hz 1080p monitor, im only squeezing out 60 fps on highest settings and isnt smooth. im not happy with the performance. i have a 700 dollar budget for upgrades. I would like to upgrade to i5 8600k and oc to 4.8+. keep the GPU, upgrade ram to 16 gb (2 x8gb) 3200, 250 NVME ssd, new msi z370 gaming plus mobo, be quite dark rock 3 cooling fan because i will be overclocking. ive priced these upgrades at 600 bucks. worth it ? what are some things i should consider. is this reasonable?

Hello LTT forum I am planning a delid on my i5-8600k, I have read a lot of guides online, but everybody seems to have different opinions on resealing the HIS. I move my computer around a lot and therefor I would argue that it should be resealed. (the CPU is horizontal mounted btw). Should I reseal or not, and if so, how should I do it, in just the corners or all the way around the IHS (and what glue should I use, everybody seems to use high heat silicon). I have bought the Thermal Grizzly Conducotnaut and some online recommend using nail polish to protect the small components on the substrate from potential liquid metal spill over, is this really needed if I am very careful to apply a thin layer of liquid metal? I hope someone out there with the experience can give me some good advice, it would be much appreciated. (just realised the i5 8600k doesn't have any small electronics on the substrate, correct me if i am wrong)

Hello everyone I wish to replace my bequiet dark rock pro 4 on my 8600k but a would like o/c aboe 4.7Ghz i think 4.9/5.0 ghz if possible i've got Asus z370 strix F gaming . I would like to have opinions and recommendation on watercooling, i'am looking for a pretty efficient water cooling is quite silent. I saw more than one model: 1) thermaltake water 3.0 360 argb 2) deepcool castle ex 360 v2 3) coolermaster ml360r secondly i've got 2*200mm fan on my case h500p would it be better to replace them with 3 * 140 mm or stay on 2 * 200 mm ? cordially John

So I just manual overclocked for the first time today, gpu was simple with afterburner (its at 7,000 memory and 2035 core), but cpu I have some questions about. I followed this guide: https://overclocking.guide/gigabyte-z370-overclocking-coffee-lake/ up through step 4. I did not touch uncore or voltage levels. I set my core to 46 and saved and exited, here's the result of my half hour stress test: https://imgur.com/a/lKzpSLh . Onto the questions : 1. Does it matter that I didn't change the uncore/voltage levels if it still went to 4.6 stable? 2. With how low the temps are, should I try changing the clock ratio to 50? 2a. If I do this do I have to change the voltages then? 2b. If I go with the 50 clock ratio, can I just follow the rest of the guide info that was used for the 8700k including uncore and such? Here's my build: I am planning on buying another 8gb ram soon also. As title said,I want to stream with this configuration.I dont have it now,but as Iam planning to get it i want to know will it be good. What Iam personaly aiming is some good quality 720p60fps stream or even better if possible.I saw that in all ways ryzen beats intel when it comes to streaming but I personaly wouldn chose it just for that advantage. Also seen that 8700k is best for streaming (from intel family) but I dont want to pay that price to pair that high end cpu with this mid range gpu, thats just overkill to me.8700k need to be paired with like 1080 but as Iam playing on 1080p 144hz thats even bigger overkill and will cost to much.So should I think about stronger cpu or this is it?

Since 2011 I’ve been using an old Gateway all in one PC with only 4gb of ram and an underperforming CPU with integrated graphics. Im finally building a new PC this year. I’m going to use it for 144hz 1080p gaming, video editing, and streaming if I can. I bought an I5 8600k and 16 GB of 3200 MHz ram (it was on sale for 100 at the time). My power supply is a used EVGA Supernova 750 G-2 (probably overkill for my build but it’s too late to return it). I’m still waiting on money for a graphics card but I’m looking for 1070 - 1080 like performance for around $350 USD. The RTX 2060 or the GTX 1660ti are my main choices right now, but I have also been looking at used 1080’s, 64’s, and 1070ti’s. This is my first build so i’m trying to stay away from used graphics cards though (I don’t know enough to diagnose problems). Any suggestions?

Can anyone explain my boot temps? I mean 71c with 1.28vcore and a corsair h115i pro cooler? I have checked the thermal paste 2 times, the spread is always fine. But i still get theese big spikes. I dont mean 71c is a big spike, but with a 280mm aio and only 1.28vcore its a high spike. When i play games the temps dont go over 68c.

Help me out here guys/girls. I have an i5 8600k that runs at 4.6 but when I do other beefy tasks (stream), it just can't keep up. My previous post brought up the fact that hyperthreading was needed so I should go to 8700k. I tried to build a pc that I wouldn't need to upgrade at all, lasted about 8 months lol. I understand going 8700k is an easy upgrade as I wouldn't have to change anything but the chip. But I like overhauling when I get the opportunity. Bonus time is right around the corner and I have to ok from wifey to re-build. I need some insight on what I should consider when going higher end. I am thinking of going 9900k, x-series, or even switching teams and going threadripper. I just don't have the experience with this level of cpu/mobo. What are the benefits from going from 8700k to 9900k and then from 9900k to the X series (or threadripper). Thanks in advance.

Hey, First things first: CPU: Intel i5 8600k MB: Asrock Z370 Pro4 Cooler: Corsair H100i v2 PSU: Seasonic 620W M12II-620 Evolution Ever since I bought this computer some months back the cpu temps have been bugging me. I've tried looking for a solution by googling etc., but even though many people seem to have similar problems, I haven't found anything that works for me. Idling my temps hover around 40C, which to me sounds a little high but still acceptable. However, testing with prime95 or intelburntest temps hit 100 almost instantly. Here's a screenshot after 5 seconds in prime95: https://imgur.com/a/U9y0LiY I have made sure the cooler is attached tightly. I have applied new thermal paste ( Arctic silver 5 ). Fans are running fine. AIO pump is in working condition with one water pipe being a little warm. All my settings in bios are at default values, so mostly auto. Looking around forums people seem to be overclocking to 5.0Ghz "easily" with similar setups and here I am struggling with base speeds. Any and all advice are welcome. Thank you.

I'm looking to upgrade my pc from a 1060 3gb card to a more capable card since i'm also getting a new monitor. I'm looking for a used card that will fit with a red/black color scheme (but it will look nice if it has a little white) and I have found a good 1070 ti for about $310 and a 1080 for about $380. Should I look into a different card or buy one of those, and if so, which one?

Hi guys, my first attempt on the i5 9600k and i got a stable 5.2ghz at 1.35v. Possibly i could try to lower the voltage or increase the overclock but with that result i'm already very very happy. I did a Stress Test of 13:20 hours with aida 64 and everything went fine. Temperatures at stress test fluatuate between 60 and 85ºC and when i was gaming it never surpassed 60ºC. For reference, my cooler is an AIO NZXT Kraken X41 (almost the same as the x42). Here's the stability test results. So, how is yours 9600k's and 8600k's doing with overclock? Let's compare our chips and help each other Edit: After some time trying i could get even better results! Now i've got a stable 5.2ghz at 1.225 vcore. Really amazing results. Sadly 5.2ghz at 1.2 vcore wasn't stable :/, so i think that's my limit, but already very good!

Hey everyone I will be buying either an 8600k or an 8350k. I only play esports titles on high refresh monitor so I need high clockspeeds. I will be buying an rtx 2070 or 2080 so I don't want a liquid aio cooler, if it leaks it's not worth it to me. These gpus are Overkill but sometimes I will hook it up to my 4k tv and play eso online.(fps not that important here, I know I'll get more then 50+). My question: Will overclocking only 4 of 6 cores to 4.8ghz on the 8600k work with hyper 212 Evo? Would it significantly lower the thermals? The majority of people just oc all cores but I don't need all 6 running that fast so it would be in efficient. My case only has 164mm of clearance so my air coolers are limited. (H400i). Or should I save lots of money and just get the 8350k, I'm pretty sure mmorpgs don't use more than 4 cores anyway? Primarily gaming with voice chat program open, maybe some light video editing if I decide to get into YouTube. But I don't mind waiting a long time cause it obviously wouldn't be my source of income.

I am planning on building a new system. I am not a heavy gamer but will be doing streaming and post-production 4K film editing, modest overclocking along with just tinkering with it with new components from time to time. I would like to choose components that will age well for the MB and CPU. I would like it to be on the “cutting edge” rather than the “bleeding edge” in cost ($2K-3.5K) My personal biases are toward super quiet systems, MSI motherboards, Intel CPU and non-water cooled systems. Here’s what I am looking at so far. 1. CPU. 8600k, 8700k, 9600k or 9700k. My concern with 9xxx is the absence of hyperthreading, which some of my applications use heavily. 2. Motherboard. MSI brand Z370 or Z390 and which model 3. Power supply. Seasonic? 4. Case. Mid or full tower Quiet. Brand? 5. SSD. M.2 Samsung NMVe? 6. DDR4. 16 or 32GB. speed? 7. Graphics card. TBD Any thoughts appreciated! Thanks.

Here's my Userbenchmark score: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/12363279 This is done with a brand new i5 8600K, not delidded, not using a custom loop. Here's my case: https://ibb.co/hfp00V Here's my P95 tests: https://i.redd.it/5shsybnrya021.png https://imgur.com/u7HllpO (AVX Offset set to 0, 1.375v vCore hitting a power limit) So, I see that it downclocks on certain tests. I'm not exactly sure what that is tied to- maybe the power limit being hit? The system has yet to crash at all under every test I've done. Is this chip really a golden chip or is there a setting I'm missing? Edit: Cinebench score: https://imgur.com/7AVVFC7

Hi, On the spec sheet of the Intel i5 8600k it says "Max # of Memory Channels: 2". Does this mean max 2 RAM sticks or max 4 RAM sticks in dual channel? Thanks! Link to spec sheet: https://ark.intel.com/products/126685/Intel-Core-i5-8600K-Processor-9M-Cache-up-to-4-30-GHz-

Hello, I am currently saving op for my first gaming rig featuring an i5 8600k. But I'm debating on what motherboard to choose. I don't really have the time to check for features on every single motherboard because I'm in my final year of high school. So my question is, what are the general consequences of cheaping out on a motherboard? Does it affect overclocking performance? Is internal/external I/O negatively affected, as in do you get significantly less and/or worse ports? Are there any nice-to-have-but-not-necessary features that I will miss out on? And lastly what motherboard do you recommend for a budged option and what motherboard for a more expensive option? Thanks in advance Joost

I recently posted about why my temps are so high with only 1.3 peek voltage. Usually they run at 68c. Just for fun i bumped up my overclock from 4.7ghz 1.3 too 4.8ghz 1.33v. And some temps went up by 10c. Is this normal temps to you guys? Fan speed on radiator is set so the watertemp doesnt go over 35c. I mean you can see in the hwinfo that vcore peeked at about 1.36v, but it runs closer too 1.3v under normal load. Edit: Ive tryed to reapply the tim twice now. But i dont know.... is it possible that i have applied the tim badly 2times in a row ?

Ive had my CPU for a year now, and I see all these videos on youtube. People having the same cooler and cpu as mine, sometimes worse cooler and higher end cpu. And they still get 20C idle temps. My idle temps never go below 35C. Load temps are peeking at 72C ish. Usually around 50 while gaming. But im just wondering is there some special trick to make the idle temps go down? I use Balanced mode i windows, also speedstep in bios with turbo enabled and all that. Cooler: Corsair h1151pro / 8600k 4.7GHZ 1.3v
