Hello, I just upgraded to 32 gb from 16 10 min ago but now the compressed memory is bigger than normal, is that ok ? 3.5 gb compressed? Is that normal? Thank you

Hi, I want to upgrade my pc to 32gb of RAM. But I don't know if I should get 2 sticks of 16gb, or 4 sticks of 8 gb. My PC specs CPU - Intel Core i5-8600K Motherboard - AsRock Z370 Extreme4 GPU - Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2080 Super Windforce OC 8G I want to buy the G.Skill DDR4 Trident-Z but I am not shure if I will get 2 or 4 stick then. What will be beter??

I'm planning to upgrade my RAM to 64gb by combining two separate (2x16gb) G.Skill Trident Z kits, specifically the model below: G.SKILL TridentZ RGB Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Desktop Memory (F4-3600C17D-32GTZR) Current system specs are: i9-9900k 4.9Ghz OC (H115i Pro 240mm AIO Liquid Cooler) MEG Z390 Godlike (Latest BIOS) Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 4x8GB DDR4 3000mhz 2x MSI RTX 2080ti Corsair AX1500i Is it okay if I combine 2 Trident Z kits to achieve the 64GB total? I've already researched about the QVL not being updated because there are too many RAM kits in the market, but I just wanted to read about your expert opinions if these will cause any issues? So recently, I've been thinking about going for 32GB of RAM just because 16GB total RAM sounds actually quite weak and low for a PC user like myself, and 32GB sounds nicer. As you can tell, I'm going down the enthusiast route. I currently have two 4GB sticks in my system right now, so my PC is 0-4-0-4, totalling to 8GB so far. I've been wondering, is there any major power consumption usage of 16GB of RAM vs 32GB of RAM? I assumed no, but I've not got any results on Google so I came here to ask. In addition to 16 vs 32GB of RAM, is 32GB even viable for me? Typically, my PC use case would consist of: • Internet Browsing - 3 to 5 Chrome tabs open at any given time (YouTube, LTT, Twitter, Floatplane etc) • Gaming - CSGO, Rocket League, Overwatch, Skyrim, TF2 (This seems like a stupid question, I'm sorry) -
For some reason when i xmp my tforce 3600mhz ram 2 kits of 16gb (8+8+8+8) My os refuses to boot giving me the blue screen of death. I'm currently doing memtest 64 on it to check but so far no issues on memtest. My current setup is: AB350 G3 F22 Bios Ver. R5 1600x 32GB of 3600 Tforce 500 970 evo m.2 6 tb WD Blue 3 TB per HDD 1300Watts Seasonic 80Gold Dual Rx Vega 56 Msi Air Boost Any suggestions?

Hi guys Recently been looking around for pc parts and noticed ddr4 ram prices are absolutely silly right now. I need 32gb since i currently have 16gb and im maxing out just doing casual stuff. So i've had the idea to buy a 1x16gb stick which i can afford then later on buy the exact same brand/model 1x16gb when i can afford it. I know the default copypasta for this is "hurhurrr can't do that m9 compatabiltieiz m9" with absolutely no explanation. I'd like some evidence to support this since before i was a 'real' pc builder i always mixed and matched ram even different brands and the worst that has ever happened to me in 10 years is all the ram slowed down to the lowest speed ram i added which isn't even a bad thing since it's expected and completely up to me. I'll accept anecdotes, if you bought the exact same model of ram and it didn't work i'd like to know but i'd also like something a bit more concrete or even some statistics. This is a £300 decision so i don't really want to rely on the default copypasta replies.

That's pretty cheap. most kits in the past few months have been 399 and up. I picked up a 32gb kit on black friday for 300$ with the same specs. I was tempted to buy 2. Hi All, Could someone give me a recommendation of the cheapest reasonable quality laptop that can meet the following specs: 32GB ram, 1070 graphics, some processing oomph. Some variability could be accepted on the graphics, but it’s going to be used intensively, so it needs to be around that real world power. Machine is primarily for use with Agisoft Photoscan in the field – so basically a graphics workstation, but most definitely does not need Quadro capabilities. Approved suppliers at work are coming up with seemingly overpriced goods that have extras like that because they only do “business” equipment. BTW, I'm in the UK.

I am experiencing random Freezes on my Desktop mostly when idle but it also happened once while I was using the system. The system has Linux installed, always updated to the latest stable kernel (distro is Arch) The system is completly unresponsive, CAPS key does not respond, mouse does not respond, cannot ping or SSH I tried magic SysRQ but I don't think I have it enabled I can try this on next freeze I guess. My system is a Ryzen 1700 on an ASUS x370-prime (BIOS updated to latest version but I also experienced it with 3 versions already) with 32GB RAM a 512GB m2 SSD (Samsung EVO something) Graphics card is RX560 connected to one cheap 4k Samsung monitor with Display port and one 1080p as cheap Samsung monitor using the HDMI link. I run the opensource AMDGPU driver. Power supply Be Quiet Pure Power 10 600W (Amazon don't mention any certification but I believe this is 80+ Bronze) I have a 4TB Seagate drive attached ( I first started noticing the issue after I got the HDD but It could just be because I didn't leave the PC on before that) I use Plex to manage the media on that disk, I guess it is scanning it constantly. I have no overclocks I recently ran a memtest for 24 hours (5 runs on the 32GB) with no errors, I am not sure how to proceed with testing this. Do you guys have any recommendations? I was thinking the next step would be to disable Plex, and then to disable NFS (Sharing) and eventually to Unplug the new Disk to isolate it. I, however, find it a bit hard to believe that an extra disk with no OS component would cause a freeze. Could a power supply issue cause this? 600W should be enough for my System.

Hey everyone. I'm compiling parts for my first ever PC build and I'm going with a white/black type of rig. The ram I plan on using is this: G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM but I can only find it in red. So I'm just wondering if anyone can find a white or black color of this RAM so it would match the rest of my computer parts? Thank you! -
I just got a 32gb RAM kit and I went to see if it works and It says my installed Ram is 31.9 GB. Does anyone know why it says 31.9Gb instead 32gb?

I am a video editor looking for a laptop to edit my videos when I'm traveling. The program of choice will be HitFilm Pro. Specs: i7 (Please ) 32GB RAM support (Fine with upgrading it myself it would be cheaper) Good graphics card (960 minimum) Under 6lbs 15"ish Monitor 1TB HHD and at least 500gGB SSD (Fine with upgrading it myself it would be cheaper) I've looked online and after some research, everything is clear... as mud. Hey everybody, I'm in the process of shopping for my new (and first) build. I can get 4x8GB Gskill Ripjaws DDR4 ram(32GB) but am getting mixed opinions from people. Some say that it is too much and I won't be using it while others go on to tell me to get 64 gigs.. I'll be gaming, compiling code, creating animations, editing videos and modelling some 3D graphics as well. Help me out a little! One more thing, my motherboard has 4 ram slots with two channels. What will happen if I plug in 3 8GB sticks? I mean will it affect performance in any way? Because I haven't really heard about 24GB ram a lot... Thanks beforehand

why does Amazon tell me that the nexus 6Ps base model (32gb) cost 610$? I don't live in the UK or Europe in general. (i live in Israel ) did they up the price? if I order it in the US will it cost me 500$ instead?

Hi, Currently I have 16GB (2x 8GB) installed in my motherboard, which is a Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3. I just found the same kit on Amazon, another 16GB of Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400MHz for about £65 - the lowest I've ever seen it. I've seen contradicting posts online as to whether you can add RAM or not... As I'm running in dual channel on this motherboard, would it be ok? The TechQuickie episode seemed to suggest that it wouldn't be much of a problem... Thoughts please, Thanks!

Hello guys. So I have been running Ubuntu along with some other bootable programs (kavspersky, Memtest etc) off my 16gb micro sd Sandisk ultra. It runs fine, but it gets way too hot and it is pretty slow. Thus I had been itching for a new flash drive for quite some time. Thing is, I use this flash drive as a recovery drive with useful utilities along with Ubuntu. This is not meant for everyday use , but as an emergency drive in case something on my main rig starts failing , or I need to troubleshoot another computer. I need this flash drive to be on my keychain 24/7. Therefore I need a sturdy drive witha keychain hole that can run an OS at decent speeds. Plastic usb drives tend to be wrecked when kept with my keys , so a metal flash drive is preferable. Any suggestions? Also, is read speed or write speed more important when looking for bootable drives? Note: I already own a Cruzer Extreme which I use as my secondary OS drive, permanently mounted on my pc. Its a great little drive, but I believe I need somethinf far more rugged if I expect it to last drops and scratches by my keys.

Right now I have the HyperX Predator 16GB (4x4GB) DDR4 2400mhz Quad channel memory. I was thinking of getting a second set to have 32GB of RAM (I have 8 DIMM slots on my MB). The only problem I heard was that you might run into problems with having two sets of RAM in you X99 MB. Will it work or no?

Hey everyone! So I have an Adata s805 32GB USB 2.0 which until now has served me very well over the 2 or so years I have had it. But the other day a friend connected it to my laptop to transfer some files and when he brought it back to me I couldn't get the drive to show files! Even though it connects to the PC (I tested it on 4 different computers with the same results) the removable storage device won't show up under "this PC". So I checked in my devices and printers and it is connected there. And also what I find really weird is that there is no information about the drive I'm really stuck. It worked perfectly fine minutes before I got it and now nothing. And it seems the device is not broke either! Maybe some new drivers or something will work? Please any advice is greatly appreciated Thnx for all replies!
