I had a Sapphire rx580 nitro+ before and I swapped it for the Gigabyte 1080ti OC g11 card. You can see system fan configuration, it was fine with the 580 peaking at 80C. The 1080ti though... I have to temp limit it to 82 or it will just keep rising. Personally I dont like it going that high. So I took off the sidepanel and WITHOUT any temp limits and maxed out power limit, it PEAKED at 74C. What I think is this is because the 1080ti's heatsink fins go from the sidepanel into the motherboard. The 580 had the fins side to side so it pushed quite a bit of hot air out the case instead of just building it in the case. Its the Phanteks Eclipse P400 White Please see the pictures and let me know what I should do, Im just running with the sidepanel OFF right now but Id like to put it on if theres another solution. Thanks

Hi everybody! sorry to bother but i encounter quite a problem in this last day. I brought a Kraken g12 for watercooling my 1080ti zotac amp extreme edition ... the thing is , i put everything like it has to be , power up the system and everything was quite ok, the temps were low and everything hunky dory. The problem came when i open a game , suddenly the video crash and thats it, had to restart to get anything done. Try to do a furmark test and a kombustor test and it freeze seconds from the start. I put the 1080 with his normal block and everything works like nothing had happen. So .. i have no idea whats going on or why it doesn't work. My rig is : Motherboard TUF B450 plus gaming , Ryzen 5 3600 with a id cooling 240 frostflow watercool , the 1080ti zotac amp extreme , 32 gb of ram ddr4 hyper X , 6 rgb coolers with the controller , 2 ssd , 1 hdd and the psu is a gigabyte 750 gold certificated sorry for the bad english , thank you !

I bought 2 1080ti for a project and just now got around to finishing it a year+ later. One of the cards does not output video. Its the Nvidia factory version. i have added a water block to it. in device manager, it shows both cards but the one that's not working says "windows has disabled this device because of an issue code 42". Other card works fine. I have also tried it in my test bench with the same result. tried reloading drivers with clean install. Any ideas or maybe a place that can diagnosis it? Hi guys, I find myself in a privileged position of having two GPUs EVGA 1080Ti SC2 and a Sapphire 5700XT Nitro+ At the moment I can use only one of those, but I am planning, in the future, to build an unraid system with pass-through etc. For the time being I can't decide which GPU to keep as primary cause from what I can see both have pros and cons. I am playing at 1440p 144hz free-synch (g-sync compatible) display but above 60fps is ok. As cpu an old i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz 5700XT: newest, drivers focussing it (hopefully some gain over time?) I like new drivers feature like image sharpening 1080Ti: slightly more powerful in certain games more mature drivers (but no focus or improvements on it) I've read reviews about the two and it looks like AMD is a bit more silent, but more power hungry and hotter than nVidia Until now the games on which I've tested them are limited to titles from few years ago like Forza Horizon 4, The witcher, etc. Anyone with more experience on the above to help me formulating a more data driver choice. Thank you very much for your help

I got a coolermaster ML240 AIO for free with my new motherboard. At the same time I bought a 1080ti on Ebay, and to my surprise it came with an EK waterblock pre-installed. I took it as a sign and went to the hardware store to get some 9mm tube, fittings, and distilled water. I sliced up the AIO with a kitchen knife and built a loop. The water flows from the pump to the GPU, then to the radiator and finally back to the pump. It worked fine, but not quite as well as I expected. I'm Idling around 25c in Finland, where it's 0c outside and 18c inside my house. I can play light games in 4k and never break 50 celcius, but cranking everything up in Sekiro or Dark Souls 3 results in a slow creep into 84 celcius. I'm talking about an hour of play time before hitting 80c. At first I thought it might be the pump not working, so I turned it off. As soon as I loaded up my file in Sekiro the GPU jumped up to 80 so I quickly mashed alt+f4 and turned my pump back on. So the pump is fine. I've been turning the system around like a tumbleweed to see if there are air bubbles in the loop, but I'm pretty sure there are none. I got Noctua fans from a friend, but running them at 100% had no result other than being super quiet. Could it be that I need a bigger radiator? Or is the pump too slow? I'm using hardware store fittings that I believe are meant for pressurised air, but that cannot be a problem, right? Also should I get a reservoir? I don't know what those do. Thank you for your help.

First I just want to say high to all here! Didn't realize there was a forum till I heard linus say it lol. I hope my first post doesn't ruffle to many feathers as it's more opinion based than anything. I'm looking for upgrade paths on my current build, I mostly only do vr anymore and currently use a rift s but will be moving to a primax 5k soon. The only real reasons for me to upgrade that I can see are, one I'm sort of an enthusiast, and two I have a friend that wants me to build him a budgetish 1440p gaming rig. In the last year I've seen the tech moving at a huge pace and it seems about time for me to build something new as my system has a bit over two years on it now. So question is what would you guys go with? I'm planning on keeping my mobo and maybe my 1080ti as it seems only a small upgrade to go 2080ti, and I have another founder's edition 1080 I could use in the upcoming build. Im thinking a 9700k and possibly 2080ti? Or scrap it all and go team red? Thanks for any input! Specs are as follows: Asus z370 strix 8700k (clocked at 4.9) EVGA 1080ti ftw sc2 hybrid (liquid cooled) Corsair 2x8gb 3200 EVGA GQ gold 1000w power supply Samsung evo 970 250+500gb nvme Wd blue 2tb ssd Corsair h115i cooler Probably missed something...

Hello lovely people. New to the forum and have a wee equiry. I have just ordered a benq 2700u monitor. I fancied 4k and great colour accuracy over mental framerate. I am somewhat of a casual gamer who is also disabled (i have cerebral palsy, have bad co-ordination, and can only use my right hand), and I cannot play fast paced fps type games etc. I play a lot of eve online, a bit of diablo and i'm becoming addicted to anno1800. My rig is as follows: cpu - rysen 3700x mobo - asus strix b450-f gaming psu- evga 1300w gold (overkill i know, but bought rig on ebay and that's what guy had put in. would love to build my own, but disabled, as mentioned) ram - 32 gig trident z (3200) gfx - evga 1080ti hybrid: 11gig (purposely wanted 1080ti, as i think bigger bang for buck. IMO ray tracing is not ready yet, plus heard rumours of quickly degrading vram on 20** series cards) hd - samsung 860 evo 1tb cooling - NZXT aio of some sort My question is: will i have any trouble running the benq and 2 viewsonic 2k monitors? The way I usually opperate is to have a game on main monitor, youtube on another (LTT of course, or gamers nexus if i want way too many graphs, lol) and chrome on another. I'm not expecting to have a game spread across all monitors, that would look stupid anyway wiith varying resolutions. Cheers, any advice is much appreciated.

Hi There Everyone. I was hoping someone could help me with Understanding some Performance issues im having on Red Dead Redemption 2 at 1080P I understand the game is demanding and requires a beefy PC to run at High Ultra, But i just want toi find out if the frame drops in certain areas are normal. I will give my Full PC specs at the end with the settings im currently running at. Possible SPOILERS below! ! ! I noticed my first FPS drops when you and your crew decide to go rob the Train and you go from the snow to the Grass, i dropped from a stable Vsync on 60Fps to low 50s. 2nd part is when you and everyone decide to leave for the next town and your wagon wheel breaks, again when im riding the wagon just before it breaks im dropping to low 50s. If it is just maybe very certain areas that tend to be VERY demanding i understand, i am just hoping that it is not most areas when you out in the wild as the drop in frames really distracts from the actual enjoyment of the game. Both the above parts are basically very early on in the game as i have only purchased it Yesterday. Any Help or information would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to drop some settings if the Visual Quality will not be effected greatly. Hello everyone. I've recently upgraded my old rig to something like this: AMD Ryzen 5 2600x B450 Aorus Elite 2x8GB Kingston HyperX Fury 3000MHz GeForce GTX 1660ti 6GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus m.2 250GB Chieftec G-700S 700W Here's the thing, I've been offered recently an upgrade to a G1 1080ti for a 120€-150€ price difference and they're willing to give me extended warranty for it. Keep in mind, I payed roughly 300€ for my card new, still in warranty. Mostly I run games at 1080p ultra, so pretty much no interest at going 1440p or 4K. I'm not really sure if the price/performance ratio is good here, so I'm asking you guys, what do you think?

Hi there Everyone. Was wondering if anyone is having the same issue. I recently got We Happy Few and im having some major FPS drops. CPU and GPU not going 100% even when Vsync off. FPS drop from Stable 60FPS to low 40s on Ultra 1080P. Specs Below: Ryzen 2600 GTX1080ti 16GB 3200Mhz

I am trying to watercool my gtx 1080ti with a NZXT Kraken G12 and a 120mm aio watercooler but am not quite sure if the one I want will get the job done. I was thinking of getting an NZXT Kraken M22 because I already own a NZXT Kraken X62 but it has a pump inside the radiator which according to reviews decreases its performance compared to other 120mm aio's. So the question is if the M22 will be sufficient to cool an overclocked 1080ti or am I better off going with another 120mm aio, and so which one.

Hi everyone. Im having a little issue. I have a Palit 1080ti that to me downt seem to be performing how i think a 1080ti should. Im running the New Star wars game and in the start after the firat cutscene im geting around 70fps at 1080p on epic settings. Another buddy of mine is running a 1080 and getting 68. He is running a ryzen 5 1600 CPU, while im useing a Ryzen 5 2600. I figure my FPS would be much higher but it isnt. Also my GPU Usage is sitting at around 50 - 60%. If anyone migjt know why please as im lost. Full spec list below. Ryzen 5 2600. Palit Super Jetstream 1080ti. Corsair 750W gold PSU. 16Gb 3200Mhz HyperX Predator memory.

Recently I bought a gently used (I have no reason to doubt this) Aorus waterforce (the AIO one) 1080ti from ebay and have had a bug that I've been stumped on for since I have noticed it. The issue is, after any duration of either gaming or some benchmark, the power draw of the card will plummet to around 50-60% causing performance to drop with it, the only way to resolve this is to reboot and it'll be back to normal. With some testing I found that increasing the power limit on the card accelerates the issue from taking 5-10 minutes to happen to only a matter of seconds. The only prevention is keeping the clock speed below 1900Mhz with a small underclock. This is ok with me as performance is still stellar but the whole thing is something that's bugging me, especially with my love of overclocking. Temps never exceed 65 degrees and clock speeds tend to stay the same even with the substantial performance loss. I've tested several different drivers I've tried a graphics bios update I've tried uninstalling different OC software I've tried several different games and benchmarking, all the same result Tried different power cables Tried different pcie slot Tried removing other pcie devices (Saw others having similar issues when using pcie extenders so I thought it was a bandwidth issue somehow) My setup is: Asus strix z370-e 8700k @ 5Ghz 2x8 Corsair Vengeance @ 3200 15-18-18-32 EVGA 650BQ (supports 54A over 12v) My only remaining ideas is fresh install of windows, a new power supply or the card is faulty. The previous owner said he never experienced this issue but he also claimed he almost never used it I did not have this issue with my previous card

Putting this here cause I was so surprised by it.https://www.newegg.com/p/2YM-0024-00001 This is a all in one GPU cooler for $55 usd that's less than half what I paid to convert an old AMD r9 390x to liquid cooling using a adapter and corsair cpu cooler. I bought this praying it would work as I had a fan failure on my xfx 1080ti. Not only did it fit but under 100% load GPU temp is a solid 49 degrees Celsius. Considering the fans on ebay for my gpu were anywhere from 30 to 60 dollars each, this was a steal and I'm very happy with it. Anyone else had any good experiences with cheap cooling devices?

So my 1080 ti died of some sort of weird smoking out incident 2 weeks ago, the shop said theyre gonna refund but ill basically get a giftcard in the worth of my buy (which would be around 850 Euros) So my question is, should i go for a 2080 S which would be around the same price or invest the 300 more for 2080 ti ? My specs currently are an i 7 8700k oc´d to 5Ghz with 16 gb of 3000 mhz ram on an Asus Z370 E gaming. Ive got both a 144hz 1440p monitor and 4k 60hz monitor which i switch according to if im playing competetive (mostly Siege) or a sight seeing title/ watching a movie/video.

Hey..! I recently start a quest to water cool my rig (man it can be over whelming for someone new..!! ) along with my Zotac Gtx 1080ti Blower Edition ( Rev.B ) Where I am, there isn’t a lot of availability for water cooling parts, so I settled to get my requirements from Ali-express. But after I started researching for the parts I came across this thread on reddit Basically mine is a Rev.B card and thus is a custom PCB rather than a reference one. (The capacitors are aligned for me whereas in the reference cards it isn't. ) Now, I have been trying to find a suitable water block for my card and still haven’t come across anything that would fit. Even EKWB has a clear warning saying only Rev.A in their compatibility list. Please help me with this. What are my options ? Is there a water block specifically for this card ? ( P.S : No I don’t want to use the NZXT Kraken G12 )

Hello guys, I am planning to buid my first gaming PC soon, I am undecided about what GPU to get. I am from Bangladesh and GPU prices are comparatively high here. My options are used 1070 in sli, used 1080 to or new 5700 xt. I am planning to use it for gaming and photo and video editing. I will be using triple 1080p displays. I am planning to play F1 2019, Asetto Corsa, Dirt Rally, GTA V and PUBG. I plan on triple screening for racing only. Need your expertise on what to choose and advantages and disadvantages of each setup. Will be pairing it with a 3700x. Thank you for reading.

Goodday, I have a question for all of you tech savvy people on the internet. I bought a ps4 pro about 2 years ago (I know right), and with that, I bought a 4K monitor. After a while, I got tired of the toxic console community and was willing to join the sweaty pc master race. So, I lost myself in the wonderful world of PC building. This is the build I am currently gaming on: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X CPU Cooler: Corsair H100X Extreme Performance RAM: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz MB: Gigabyte X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING GPU: Geforce 1080ti PSU: CORSAIR CX-M Series CX750M 1 TB of HDD storage 250 GB SSD storage I have used and enjoyed this PC, but having a 4k monitor and not being able to get a comfortable 60+ fps on appealing settings in most of the games (I play a lot of AAA titles), annoyed me extremely. So my question is, What would I have to change to get that comfortable 60 fps in 4K games? And if I decide to change my monitor to a 1440p and 144 Hz monitor, what would I have to change then? Thanks in advance, Fabian

Bad PC performance (35th percentile on userbenchmarks)
Mr.KapJ1coH posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hello, I've noticed that my PC's performance is sub-optimal. I get max 65 fps in Battlefield 5 in high settings 1440p. All my drivers are up to date. My boot drive is an hdd and I am going to change it soon to my ssd, but I don't think that's the problem.
