not even 5 minutes after the 1080 ti announcement, I have already listed my 1080 on craigslist.

Whats the difference between FE cards and some board partner cards such as msi and so on ? Is there a big difference between those graphics cards ? Ive heard that FE cards have really bad cooling, is that true ? Do they cost more ?

It's been over 2 years since I've built my system. Looking for an upgrade now, and just discovered that we now have out of the box liquid-cooled graphics cards (Sea Hawk, WaterForce, etc). Really cool! How long does it usually take before these hit the market? Does anyone have an idea?

Hello good people of the internet recently I upgraded from GTX 1080 to 1080 TI. Since my upgrade both witcher 3 and Mass effect Andromeda video freezing but the audio keeps continuing, I never had this issue in my 1080. So far I tried the following experiment. 1.Clean install using driver sweeper. 2.Tried older Nvidia drivers. 3.In Nvidia control panel switched power management to maximum performance. 4.Returned 1080 it got another one still no joy. 5.Reinstall my old 1080 Wow it works . 6.Reinstall windows. Any tips? Plz Here are my PC config- I7 5930K stock 3.5Ghz, NZXT X61 cooler, 16 GB RAM, corsair HX 1000I, Samsung 850 pro SSD and Windows 10. Following VC I used Asus 1080 strix, gigabyte Aorus 1080ti and Zotac 1080 ti amp extreme. Please forgive me if I fucked on writing. Thank you!!

Hi everyone! This is my first post so if I'm doing something wrong please let me know. I've been saving for a while and was thinking about getting a new 1080 ti since it looks just sick. I currently have an i3 6100 so I'm thinking there might be a bottleneck in there. Do you think I should go for it or should I hit some middle group upgrading to a i5 7600k & GTX 1070 or something like that? Thanks in advance for your help!

which one of these on the guru 3D ones I put you on the system specs page so you could see them but the tweaktown system specs are very similar, and on the picture below I picked all the games that guru 3D and tweaktown both used and averaged the FPS out http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/gigabyte_aorus_gtx_1080_ti_xtreme_gaming_review,12.html http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/asus_rog_strix_geforce_gtx_1080_ti_review,11.html (remember I'm getting the 11OG not the 11G) http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/8122/msi-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-gaming-11g-review-best/index.html Thanks

I have a 2016 Titan X and I was wondering that since the GTX 1080 ti seems to be almost the same, just with faster ram, could they be SLI'd together? I've been trying to find a used Titan X but everyone still wants way to much for one and it would be more cost effective to just get a 1080 ti. Let me know what you guys think and thank you in advance for your advice

After 3 years of repairing and collecting PC's from recycling plants, I finally saved up enough to buy a super high end PC for editing, running lots of VMS, audio editing, Ang all kinds of gaming. I'm fairly happy with my build, but would love some input. Mostly, I just wanna know if I'm missing anything. Thanks! https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Watermace/saved/dznFTW

So I've gotten many answers all contradictory but I'd suppose I'd try to get an answer from the people on here because I assume you people know more about computer than the common fool :P. So I have a 1070 currently with a Xeon e5 2699 v4 and it's not bottlenecked from what I can tell from benchmarks on the internet but I was hoping to try to get better FPS and I wanted to maybe upgrade to a 1080 ti and I was wondering if this would be advisable because there is a lot of speculation as to what performance gains will be gotten from an upgrade of the sort. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!

So I've just ordered a 1080 ti ArcticStorm edition, and its arriving tomorrow, but im a bit worried. https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-arcticstorm It mentions a direct copper contact, but doesnt say what the block is made from. However, on the previous model for the 1080 arcticstorm, it says that its a "lightweight aluminium block".....aluminium.....in a watercooling block with a direct copper contact: Surely this is just a recipie for a nice big corroded hole in the block? edit: Just got an email back from zotac. The block is nickel plated copper. The backplate and silver accent on the cover is aluminium

Hey all, Just wanted to know what are actual okay temperatures for the 1080 Ti FE edition... I've noticed It's been around 80c without a custom fan curve.. When I manually set it to 75% fan speed it goes down to 75~ during load. Is 80c OKAY? or is that almost hitting the ceiling?

Hi there, currently building a PC (for 3D Animation/GPU rendering/Editing/VFX) and just when I thought I had it all sorted I've heard of this 'bottlenecking', I don't know if it's just a gaming term or not but to be safe - my question is will two ASUS STRIX 1080 Ti graphic cards bottleneck an Intel Core i7-6850k CPU in any of the tasks mentioned above? please dumb down any answers for me as you can tell I'm not too clued in on hardware. thanks in advance!

Hey there, so I am planning a High-End-Build: Product Price CPU: Intel Core i7 7700K 359,45 € Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 159,85 € Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z270F 177,85 € RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3000 308,63 € GPU: 11GB Asus GeForce GTX 1080 Ti ROG Strix OC 869,00 € Case: NZXT Source S340 Elite 99,45 € PSU: 750 Watt Corsair RMx Series RM750x Modular 80+ Gold 109,85 € Storage: 256GB Samsung SM961 M.2 127,85 € HDD: 2000GB Seagate Desktop HDD 69,85 € LED: PHANTEKS RGB LED-Stip Combo Set 14,90 € Fan: Aer, RGB LED-Lüfter mit HUE+ LED-Controller - 140mm 89,90 € SUM 2.386,58 € But I have one concern, when I mount the rad in the front with a push/pull config, will there be enough airflow to cool the 1080 Ti? I want to use the 2 Fans in the Top left corner to exhaust. Jayztwocents said that the thermal of this perticular 1080 Ti are impressiv, but he tested on an open-air-testbench, so what about a closed case with a non blower-style-Graphics Card? I hope you can help me ^^ Greeting Baka P.S.: If you see something off in this build feel free to mention it ^^

Today I got and installed new Aorus 1080Ti Xtreme Edition from Gigabyte, and I noticed very high idle temperatures, constantly 54 or 55 degrees. If I run this card fans at a 100% it will go down to around 37C but I still have the feeling something is not right. I am familiar to proper ventilation, I have 4 bequiet Silent Wings 3 hi-power with a nice, custom curve, nothing is obstructing the air flow and the Gigabyte 970 G1 I had used until today had around 35C while idle. The CPU is water-cooled by Kraken X62. Where I live it is rather cool today, so that also can't be the reason. I did (and made sure) not OC this card at all yet. It has the newest BIOS installed (came that way). Should I be worried? Benchmarks and stress tests seem to work really fine, but still 55C idle? EDIT: Of course I did a clean install of new NVidia drivers.

I currently have a 550w evga g3 PSU. Will it be enough to power the following build? I won't be overclocking. I know the recommended psu is 600w, but i'm guessing that is for beefier, overclocked systems? 1080 Ti (yet to be purchased) Intel i7-6700 (non-k) Kingston 240gb SSD Seagate 7.2K HDD Two 80mm Fans 200mm Fan 92mm Cpu cooler fan Gigabyte B150N Phoenix Mobo Gaming Mouse and Keyboard (Steelseries rival 700, Cherry mx board 6.0) NZXT Hue+

I am planning a huge build for the next month and i want all the performance in the world. My issue is i will be doing 1080 ti SLI for sure and an M.2 SSD. i am concerned about the pci-e lanes the i7 7700k would be my first choice but it lacks pci lanes. i dont know if 2 1080 ti's will be bottlenecked by X8 speed. and i hate X99 platforme cause of getting behind 7700k for gaming (single core performance) the alternative is Ryzen 1800X with 28 pci lanes but again its a new platform and i am afraid to be desepointed after spending tooo much money. Sorry for messy English

Hello LTT Forum, I am finally building my X99 system to take to college for motion graphics and gaming. I am here to ask you guys to give me suggestions on my build plans so far, and if there is anything that could cut some costs or improve the build. I plan on buying all components within a few days. So I need basically some 2nd opinions and basically a check by you guys incase I am missing anything or if there is anything better. Another quick question, is there a successor to X99 yet that I am missing out on? I preferably do not want to move to Skylake, because I would like to have the ability to fill all 8 RAM Slots, adding up to eventually 128 GBs of RAM (My RAM selection is x4 16 GB sticks, taking only 4 slots of 8) NOTES: USD & Total = $2,224.55 Plan on Buying: CPU - Intel Core i7-6800K: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819117649&ignorebbr=1 Motherboard - MSI X99A GAMING PRO CARBON: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA24G4R64521&ignorebbr=1 RAM - 64GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400 DDR4: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233898&ignorebbr=1 GPU - 1080 Ti (My options so far, need suggestions): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125954&cm_re=1080_Ti-_-14-125-954-_-Product PSU - Corsair HXi 750i 80PLUS Platinum: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139149&ignorebbr=1 OS - Windows 10 Home (Physical USB): https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832588528&cm_re=Windows_10-_-32-588-528-_-Product Already Have: CPU Cooler -Hyper 212 Evo: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103099&cm_re=hyper_212_evo-_-35-103-099-_-Product Case - Corsair Carbide Black/White: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139032 HDD - WD Black 2 TB: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822236624&cm_re=WD_Black_2_TB-_-22-236-624-_-Product SSD - Intel 540 Series 240 GB Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Chroma Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma Mouse Pad: Razer Firefly (free with chroma) Yea I like Razer. Nvidia released a brand new card in their Titan X lineup. It's called "Titan Xp" yep. Titan Xp. not XP. Well this is a whole different card than Titan X (Pascal) which was released on August 2016 and faster than the 1080 Ti. It features full GP102 GPU with 12GB of GDDR5X memory. It also has 3840 CUDA cores. 1080 Ti has 3584 CUDA cores/ Slightly faster memory from 11 Gbps to 11.4 Gbps. Although it has same Boost Clock as 1080 Ti which is 1582 MHz. (Founders edition) With 12 Tera FLOPS of theoretical throughput, and its 384-bit memory bus offers a theoretical 547.7 GB/s of bandwidth. Compared to the last-generation GTX Titan X (Maxwell), Titan Xp has improved GPU performance by 84%, ROP throughput by 47%, Memory bandwidth by 63%. Compared to the new 1080Ti, the Xp has: 13% more memory bandwidth at 547.2GB/sec 7% more shader/texture/geometry throughput and 9% more ROP throughput. Update: On Nvidia's blog, it says that there will be support for Mac users. Specs Comparison: Source: TechReport, Nvidia, Nvidia Blog, AnandTech. Price & Availability: The Titan Xp is available now for $1200 direct from Nvidia's website.

Hello Guys Yesterday i used an old version of Windows 10. I have installed the Ghost Recon Wildlands and the "For Honor". I have 1080 TI in SLI in my rig. In both games in options i see 22GB of VRAM (as one of the 1080 TI has 11gb so together has 22). Today i format my PC and i install the newest version of Windows 10 which is 1703 and when i am in to this games i see 11gb of VRAM. I would like to hear your thoughts and if anyone from you guys experience the same problem. Thanks a lot Below i attach a photo that capture with my phone of 22GB vram
