Greetings fellow builders! I just completet my very very first waterloop! Hurray! First of, I had no leaks and I am still trying to bleed my Radiator. I am now looking at some temps of my Zotac GTX 1070 Amp Edition and I don't know wheter they are normal or not. For my Loop: Alphacool X-Flow 480mm UT60 Thermaltake Riing Fans running at ~900 rpm. Alphacool D5 Pump with 250mm Reservoir (250mm Reservoir Pummp combo) Alphacool GTX 1080 M02 Water Block YES I do NOT have a CPUI waterblock in there yet,, but thats only because I didnt have the money to buy one quite yet. I have my birthday in about a week (5.2.) And I will be getting one then. Now for the temps. I don't know if my system is fully bled yet, (Which is isn't, even I know that) While writing this I had Heaven Benchmark running in the background at ultra settings 3440x1440p and the temps now are: 43 Degrees Celcius. In Idle on the Desktop I'm getting around 34 Degrees. Are those normal temps? I expected a little lower(?) At least about 26 or so on the desktop witht he GPU at idle...? Also I felt the water by sticking my finger into my reservoir (Yes I shouldnt do that) and it feels cold. Shouldnt the water be at least about hand warm if the GPU is sitting at 43 Degrees? I mean as much as I understand it the water in the loop will be about the same temp (+- 1 Degree) after a while, right? Well thats that. Now for my 2nd Question My Radiator still has some air in the top, I can clearly hear it splashing in there. How do I get it out? I can't really tip my PC because its bolted to the wall (yeah, looks epic though). Would it be safe to just open the top port and fill some water in there? It cant really drop on any components there (About 30cm to the mainboard, gpu, etc) Or will the water just come flying out like a fountain If I unscrew this? Pew, alot of text for 2 small simple questions... Sorry 'bout that. Anyways, I hope someone with more experience than me (everyone) can help me! Cheers!

I just installed my new Asus 1070 Strix. I have installed all the drivers and uninstalled the drivers from my old gpu. however, I booted up overwatch to play with some friends and about 10 minutes in, the fans speed turned to 100% and the monitors blackscreened. I could still hear my friends talking and they could still hear me. but every time I clicked or pressed a button, windows would make that ringing sound it plays when there is an error. The only way I could get the monitors to turn back on is to reboot my system. the temperature is normal so there is no reason for it shut off due to overheating. I have no clue what could be going on so anything helps. thanks!

Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forum. I have been wanting to build a Gaming PC for quite some time now. When I first planned to build one I was going to use Linus' $1000 build from the Holiday Buying Guide. After time I pretty much changed every part in that build. I plan on using this with an ultra wide monitor and possibly a 1440p monitor if I change my mind. This is what I came up with and have tried my best to make sure parts are compatible but could use the extra insurance that everything would work together and thanks for the help. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TfgFHN CPU - Intel Core i5 7500 CPU Cooler - Cooler Master GeminII S524 Ver2 65.0 CFM Mobo - ASUS PRIME B250M-A LGA1151 RAM - Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB DDR4 2133MHZ GPU - EVGA GeForce 1070 SC Gaming ACX 3.0 Black Edition SSD - Samsung 850 Evo 500 GB Case - Fractal Design Define S with Window ATX Mid Tower PSU - EVGA 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi Modular

Hello, this is my first ever post on the LTT forums. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong sub-forum, but this seemed like the only one that relatively fit my question. I plan on buying a used ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 ROG in my area and I was just wondering if there were any sort of precautions I should look out for when going to pick it up. He will have the card running on his computer to show me that it's working, but what should I visually inspect on the card and what should I test on his computer? The information that he's given me is that the card has been used since July 31st, he mostly played WoW and The Witcher on it, and besides that, not much else. Just as a note, I've never bought used hardware and this will be a first time for me so any words of advice would be appreciated.

Hello! I was wondering if anyone in the community would be willing to help me decide on a new laptop. I'm torn between if it's worth the extra $400 for a 17" laptop with a 1060 over a 1050Ti. I would love the new MSI Stealth Pro with 1060 because of it's size and good performance, but frankly, is the 1060 needed? I'm only gonna be playing at 1080p (obviously) so would something like the new Dell or Acer computers with their 1050/Ti's be better if I could save the $4-500 for a better Ryzen computer? I play games and stream them to my custom RMTP server so I would still like to manage a 720/60 stream while still maintaining a decent frame rate and graphic fidelity. Many thanks, J

I have a NZXT phantom 410 mid tower case and I have 2 XFX r9 280's in crossfire currently. I am planning to upgrade my graphics card(and monitor to 1440p) very soon and I want to get a 1070. I am not planning to run them in SLI, but I like the looks of the founders edition. I was wondering if I should get the founders edition, or an aftermarket cooler. And I was wondering how much of a difference the clock speeds make (from 1.506 to 1.67, these are base clocks.) The other card I was looking into is the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Xtreme Gaming Video Card. I don't really want to over clock(its just a personal preferance for some reason). I was wondering which card would work better for my needs.

Hello guys! I would like to buy a gtx 1070 for my current rig. Current specs: -i5 6600k 4.5Ghz -Asus z170i pro gaming -BeQuiet Darkrock pro 3 -HyperX Savage ddr4 2660Mhz 16gb -Corsair RM650x -Phanteks Enthoo Evolv mitx -2x Samsung 850evo 500gb (raid 0) -Seagate Barracuda 1tb My main goal is a silent mitx build, so i would like a card without coilwhine. I was thinking about the following cards: -Asus Strix GTX1070 -MSI GamingX GTX1070 -Evga FTW GTX 1070 Later i may watercool my rig. All of them are exactly at the same price in my region. Which one of them is deadsilent, has a good powerphase and could be overclocked the best? (I know about the silicon lottery, mainly talking about cooling efficiency and power phase design) Thanks for all the answers!

A friend of mine has recently bought a gtx 1070. But he's expiriences very hight framedrops (200- 30 fps in borderlans for example) what could be the problem? System: 17-4770K @ 3.5Ghz 16 GB Ram Asus Dual GTX 1070 Series 750 W Power supply Res 2560 x 1440P

So this isn't really a problem as it is a odd occurrence, but for some reason whenever I install a new game (or reinstall an old one) it automatically sets the resolution to 3840 x 2160. I'm honestly flattered that the game has such confidence in my GTX 1070 and 1080p screen but it's weird to me that it would do this. Any ideas on why this happens? I don't have any Nvidia settings forcing the game to 4k. My monitor is only 1080p and I only run the desktop at 1080p.

I want to know in your opinion what is the best value 1070 for the money and why. im planning on buying a 1070 and want to know what the opinion of the masses are on this topic. the monitors used will be a 1080p monitor and a 1440p monitor with a 60hz refresh rate.

Alright I think its time to upgrade but Ill leave that up for discussion these are my specs now CPU: AMD 6300 GPU: MSI Gaming 270x twin Froz Motherboard: gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3 Ram: 8gb (not sure if its DDR3) 1tb hard drive It plays games pretty well, I usually play over-watch, fallout 4, Planet-side 2 and Space engineers when it comes to future titles Im looking to play battlefront 2 and if Star citizen or Destiny if those come out The main issue that I want to address is what GPU i should get if I build a new ryzen system (either 1600,1700) I have considered the radeon 580 8gb, Gtx 1060 6gb or 1070 I would not like to spend 400 dollars on a new gpu and am not trying to go over 1200 I have the build this far https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MmYwXH

Hi i would like to know if it is possible to use different graphic card from the same series. I have a gtx 1070 seahawk. I plan to buy another one in the future that's another 1070, but a different version for example the evga or something. I want to know if it's possible to have both on my pc.

Hello everyone, Quick question: This is my current (ancient) system: Current PC Should I buy a new GPU? specifically a single 1070 or should wait? I'm planning to build a new PC within the next 4 - 6 months so I might even get a new PSU and move the new parts to the new system whenever I get to it. Thanks in advance.

What is the difference (In terms of fps) between Msi's 1070 Gaming X and 1070 Gaming Z? I already know that the gaming Z is overclocked some more, but whats the difference in fps?

So my evga 1070 sc is rated at 1784 mhz I believe and runs at 1961mhz under load right now on GTA V. My temps are high 60s but I don't really need all that power/heat from the card atm. In fact, for whatever reason, it was running fine at high 50s/~1600mhz. I'd prefer this to the former and just need to know how to change this setting in evga precision without changing my fan curve.

SO i have my pc for 5 months now should i upgrade my GTX 1060 to a 1070 also before posting your comments please make sure the GPU is Black and Red to stay with my color scheme

Hello fellow ltt-enthusiast ;), i'm currently planning my first own build and could use some help :). Budget: 1000€ - 1400€ specs: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/list/NbgfgL (Prices should be in euros as i'm living in Germany) I haven't yet decided on a cpu cooler. Regarding gpu: does anyone have experience with the evga ftw hybrid, i just saw it somewhere and kinda liked the concept, is it worthwhile/ any good? The choice of case isn't set in stone either, I'm open for suggestions. pls keep in mind that this is my first build so dont tear me apart ;), you seam to be a nice community anyway. thx in advance

I am trying to decide which graphics card is better for 4k video editing in Adobe Premiere and some After Effects. More specifically I will be making music videos with multiple effects including chroma keying. I am in the process of getting all the parts together to build a computer purely for video editing is it worth getting the 980ti (ASUS ROG MATRIX) or a 1070 (not sure which model) as both are around the same price on ebay in the UK . Alternatively would it be worth it just to get a 1060 or RX480 for less? My goal is to edit 4k in full quality in real time using one 1080p monitor and one 2160p monitor for the preview video. I know the 980ti has more cuda cores and possibly a higher IPC? The parts I have so far are: Ryzen 1700 (I plan on overclocking it with the cooler it came with) ASUS Prime B350M-A AMD ATX Motherboard Adata XPG 32gb 2 x 16 DDR4 ram 2800Mhz PC4-22400 memory I have yet to get the rest of the components, I will get a power supply depending on the graphics card and I plan on getting a silent case and SSDs. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, I don't play video games and I am using it purely for video editing.

So my first pc build is done, and a recurring theme was driver issues. My dad and I have managed to resolve most of them, however the GPU drivers still remain. I have an EVGA 1070 FTW edition, and it seems that I can't install any drivers. Getting official drivers through Nvidia's website and GeForce Experience has yielded,"NVIDIA Installer cannot continue. This NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows." And if I try installing it through Device Manager, it states that it occured an error while trying to install. At first, I thought it was because the GPU wasn't seated correctly in the PCIe slot, however Device Manager and GPU-Z seem to detect it, but overclockig and benchmark utilities can't. Any input about this would be awesome!
