System Specs: Motherboard: Asrock z270 killer sli Processor i7 7700 non-k with hyper 212 evo black edition dual fan Graphics card EVGA 1070 SC black edition Ram Teamforce Delta RGB 2x8GB 3000MHz 800watt PSU M.2 500GB SSD boot drive M.2 2TB SSD main storage The problem started when I started playing GTA5 online. I was getting a max of 50fps on min graphics and max graphics. (V-sync always off) I installed GPU-Z CPU-Z HWM monitor Furmark userbenchmark and 3DMark I kept HWM cpu-z and gpu-z open on a second monitor and got back in GTA. It was reporting a 50% GPU usage and around 60% on the highest thread in the cpu. Both were far off ther power and thermal limits. Using a stress test however would put them to 100%. In task manager, it was saying GTA was using GPU 0-Copy I ran user benchmark. cpu and gpu where slightly below avertage, but RAM came out as a disaster. Quick reserch and it seemed I didn't have XMP enebled. I changed it from auto to the preset 3000MHZ xmp profile, but it wouldn't boot. After reducing (I forgot what It was 4 letters starting with F) from 800Mhz to 400Mhz, I could boot up. But the processor wouldn't get past 3.5Ghz. Back in bios I increased BLCK to max. and I had 4Ghz. Userbenchmark ran wonderfully. But the problems where only about to start. Everything windows related was lagging, taskbar, opening windows, start menu, youtube was hardly playable. So I reset everything back to normal. I then got the evga precition x1 and overclocked gpu a bit, and after changing some gta settings I got 80 FPS, but still neither the CPU or the GPU where close to being maxed out. Hey everyone I am at a loss right now. A while back I bought a 1070 to replace my 1060 and after I installed it I noticed lower performance in games. Like Minecraft I would struggle to get above 60 and in 7 Days to Die I can't get to 60 either on medium settings. Overall on every game I feel like I am not getting the frames I should for a 1070. My specs are a ryzen 5 1600 16 gb of trident z 3200. Could anyone please help me with my issue. Also I have tested my GPU in my friends pc and it ran fine.

Hi, I recently bought a Ryzen 5 2600, because I had a i5 7400, and that processor was bottlenecking, I tested the new Ryzen that I bought and is getting worse performance! I installed all the drivers, updated the bios, the chipset, reinstalling the NVIDIA drivers and nothing works. For example: Rainbow Six Siege with the i5 7400: AVG 135 FPS Rainbow Six Siege now with Ryzen 2600: 70-130 FPS, so much frame drops. Call of Dutty Modern Warfare with the i5 7400: 90 FPS Locked Call of Dutty Modern Warfare now with Ryzen 2600: 40-65 FPS I always get 100% CPU Usage. How much of a bottleneck will a 2400g cause to a 1070? 2400g has 12 pcie lanes divided into 8+4 so gpu gets pcie 3.0 x8. My frames didn't increase much from 1060 3gb to 1070 8gb but its atleast stable now and doesn't drop. -
After five years of having a slow Monitor and a 960 2g GPU, I can now finally enjoy playing competitive games with this new set up and also play the Witcher on high ? all without breaking the bank Monitor €200 - 1070 €200 - sold €160 + total cost € 240 - Good christmas so far. old gear

Hi guys, I was looking to get some help today, I bought a 2nd hand GPU (MSI) from eBay and tested on Furmark. Everything seems alright but when i play RS6 i get the odd flicker. It doesn't happen during gameplay but when it comes to the picking squads and the transition part it flicks (attached a video). Could this be a sign of the card going bad? If this is in the wrong place please let me know/move it or delete if necessary. Sorry i'm kind of upset so I may not be entirely rational over this and I need to decide something rather quick. Hi, so yesterday I bought a 1070 off a guy on Facebook. He claimed that his brother had just upgraded to a 2070 so he was letting it go for a decent price ($150). I buy it, (meet at a Speedway, 1st mistake I'm now aware), get home and throw it in my PC and after 3+ hours of troubleshooting cannot get it to play a game. I need advice on what action I should take. It's a Gigabyte card and after I checked their website I've found that it's about 3 months out of warranty. Their charge list here https://ggcs.gigabyte.com/html/chargelist/chargelist_en-us.htm is kind of confusing. Does that mean I can just pay $45 and they'll fix the card??? I tried to reach out to the guy but I've since learned he immediately blocked me on Facebook, tried from another account and he blocked it as well. I do have him, as well as a license place on my dash cam and I have screenshots of the chat and could probably get additional footage from Speedway. Best I can tell this is theft by deception, so should I? Attempt legal/criminal pursuit for theft by deception Attempt to RMA the device through Gigabyte Try to sell it and get most of my money back as a for parts/not working card on eBay Thoughts/suggestions -
Hello everyone. I'm about to get a Gigabyte GTX 1070 Extreme Gaming (gifted from a partent which doesn't use it anymore), and given the recent release of Red Deaad Redemption 2 (a game which is proving to be extremely heavy and unoptimized) I'd really like to overlock the GPU. In the past I used to follow this guide by JayzTwoCents: I can still follow this guide, but given how much time has passed I was wondering if there are some updated methods, maybe with some other software or anything like that. I don't wanna beat any record, I want a decent overclock, but stability is my main aim. I'd also like to know if there are some tricks involved, like enabling some kind of turbo mode. My case has decent areation, so I'd like to get as much perfrormance as possible. Caught in a bind here. I'm torn between upgrading my 1070 to a 2060 Super or (spend the extra 80 dollars) for a 2070 Super. Quick research showed about a 10% difference between those Rtx Cards so I don't know if the extra money is worth it. Or just wait until Nvidia Ampere. I run my computer at 1440p 144hz and want an upgrade that will last me a while. Specs: I7-7700k Gigabyte G1 1070 16GB 3200MHZ Ram MSI Z270 Gaming M5

UPDATED ON THE 10'TH NOVEMBER 2019: SOLVED, IT WAS A SLIGHTLY BROKEN DISPLAYPORT CABLE ALL ALONG. Since i turned off the pc at 20'th October 5 in the morning.. After that time/day, it hasnt started properly and it keeps randomly shutting itself off on heavy load. The cpu never really goes about 50c and ive stress-tested the gpu to a max 70c, the cpu have a Noctua U12S 120mm tower over the cpu. Im not sure what causes this but im trying to figure that out. I usually have a external 4 TB hdd in the front-usb aswell, all tho im not sure if it makes any difference, just listing it in okay. I formated the pc on the 21'th October to see if it would help, but the blackouts still occur. Could it be a faulty psu? Im probably using 450-550w~ so it should be enough. Hi guys, I just bought a new graphics card from a guy. He said it was in perfect condition. When I went home to install it i noticed these three marks on the backside where one was larger and the components seems to have something black, almost hairy, around then.(See pictures) is this burnt? Any safe way I can test or should I just contact the guy and ask for refund? It is a Asus GTX 1070 8GB Dual OC Thanks for help! I'm really nervous! /Erik

I've got my eye on Red Dead Redemption 2 which is coming out later next month, and I was wondering whether or not I should upgrade my gpu. (I know the recommended specs haven't been released but it's fair to expect that it will be incredibly demanding). My current setup is a Ryzen 2600 with a 1070 with a 1440p monitor. I have a few leads on Vega 64 cards, so the upgrade cost (after selling my 1070) would be about 80$. Will that 80$ investment actually be worth it in terms of performance, or am I better off just sticking with my 1070? Thank you all in advance.

Heyho! i was wondering; how do you guys feel about single RTX2080 vs GTX 1070(amp edition) SLI? ,cause that’s what I’ve decided for (because I got a second 1070amp for just 250 bucks) Its a shame I had to ditch ray tracing (for now) - the reason I went with dual 1070 is simple: I already had one and I thought it would look sick af to have water cooled acrylic sli gpu power. I game on 4K, so if games support sli somewhat well I *should* get better performance than a single 2080...? Im in Finland right now, so unfortunately I can’t test anything yet (the system isn’t build yet, last part (cpu) arrives on Tuesday.) As soon as I’m home (18.10.) I’ll get to building. I currently have an Asus GTX 1070 OC 8GB and three monitors on 1920x1080, and would like to upgrade sometime soon to 3x 4k monitors. Now my gpu only supports 2x 4k monitors as nvidia specs state Maximum Digital Resolution 7680x4320@60Hz. I am not interested in gaming in more than one monitor at all, and I'm fine at 60Hz refresh rate and 60fps, and I use three monitors for work / multitasting. Question: Should I get a second gtx 1070? Do I need to setup SLI? Can I just plug in a cheaper GPU for the third monitor? All help and tips are welcome :) On the nvidia forum someone said that the gtx 1070 would support 3x4k, but then I don't understand the specs. All help appreciated! Cheers!

recently i build my first PC with gtx1070 ,xeon E5-2689 & Chinese x79 motherboard i have a problem with display output it dosnt show display with HDMI to vga converter with old monitor but it showing the display output on teamviewer & anydesk remotely with my another laptop & it showing monitor spec when im connected my PC with HDMI to VGA converter when PC turning on it showing BIOS logo & after few seconds it stops display output can any know the fix for my problem HDMI to VGA cable works fine with my laptop i tried resetting the BIOS but no result

So I posted my Threadripper 1950x and X399 Aorus Gaming 7 motherboard on facebook market recently, and I got an offer from a buyer nearby. He offered me the following for the mentioned parts: i7 8700k CPU MSI z270 SLI Plus Mobo Coolermaster Masterliquid Lite 120 Gigabyte GTX 1070 Value-wise, it looks too good to be true especially with the graphics card just being dumped into it. I listed my parts online so I can buy a Ryzen 7 3700x since I don't do much multicore applications, but I believe an 8700k is doable. I have a 1080 ti, 32 gb ddr4 and a 850 W PSU. Should I do the trade or is this a no go?

Is this something that's okay to do? I know it depends generally on other things absorbing power, i5-9400f, 2666 ddr4 ram, 2 1080p monitors, 2 LED periphs, 2 RGB case fans, rgb cpu fan, mobo has rgb LEDs, as does the front panel itself. I'd like to be able to overclock it but if it'll require a better PSU then I'll just wait for that. Also, if the information I've provided isn't able to accurately assess my TDP, is there a program I can download that can? I checked one of those wattage calculators and w/ the OC applied it came to 436w with all my other stuff included. Just wanna be sure, and thank you for any help!

So a while back ago I got my hands on a 1070 TI at a great deal (around 200$), and I've been happy ever since it easily chews through anything I throw at it. The only reason I'm considering an upgrade is for 1 particular game: Cyberpunk 2077 Most likely I'm overreacting since the game is designed to run on current-gen consoles, but i'd like to hear other people thoughts on the matter. There are currently no official specs for the game right now but a little worried that the 1070TI might have a bit of a hard time handling it. I plan on running it at 1080X2560 at 75 Herz. in case of an upgrade I was thinking of getting a used 1080TI or maybe go for an RTX 2070 (since the super launch of the super their prices have dropped)

Hi guys I want to buy a new GPU for my Ryzen 5 1600 system. I've found a deal for a GTX 1070 ROG Strix at 200 Euros, a 1070 Ti Gigabyte Titanium for 250 Euros, and a GTX1080 Gaming X listed at 300 Euros that I might be able to get down to 275. For someone who saved up ~600 with 300 of that available for his GPU at the most, which one of these would be the best value, considering my R5 1600 and playing at 1080p? I want to be able to use the card for atleast 3 or so years without really considering upgrading. Sorry for the long story and thanks for your advice Edit: the 1070Ti is 265 but I will probably be able to find one for 250, and the 1080 is 280 after some negotiating. Which would be the best dollar/frame?

So, over the past year and a half I've been given all sorts of trouble from this pc of mine (which I'm sure you'll see if you look at my past posts). I still can't restart it, it just shuts down and gives me a black screen with the system still "running". I'm getting a framerate that I think is less than I should be getting for my specs. Often when I boot into windows it immediately freezes or is extremely choppy. I cannot use any kind of wired audio device (that plugs into the audio jack). And lastly my cpu usage is constantly far too high. I'm thinking the problem is my motherboard, as I am on my second graphics card now and my temps are fine regardless. Any ideas as to what the culprit could be? Specs: Asus STRIX GAMING Z370-I Asus STRIX GAMING GTX 1070 Intel i5 8400 Stock intel cooler (but temps aren't an issue) 16 gb ram Corsair sf450 Any help is much appreciated. I really want this to be fixed so I can stop worrying about what's causing these issues.

Hello, so I've had my two 1070s for a while now, but recently they have been acting up. For some reason one of the cards keeps dropping it's core clock down a lot when gaming, causing my fps to dip super low, even lower than when I only had 1 1070. I've tried many different driver versions, undoing my overclocks and even updating the bios of them both, but nothing I try seems to work. I've been thinking about just selling the two and getting an RTX 2080, but I wanted to know if anyone has any advice to give before I do it. I've looked around countless times, but no one seems to have my same issue. I included a picture of MSI Afterburner's GPU clock graphs of my two cards overlayed. (the one which keeps dipping is card 1). Please help, I've been trying to figure this out for over a month now. Hi, I currently have a GTX 1070 Founders Edition. It works great and overclocks higher than 2MHz with temps below the 80` degree mark. But I am thinking on doing an update of my setup. This are my current specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte Gaming 7 z170 CPU: i7 6700K @4.6 GHz Cooling: CPU: Cooler Master 212 evo 7 120mm fans for the system around the case (3 front, one bottom, 2 up, one behind) PSU: EVGA Bronce 750W Memory: 4x8 GB DDR4 Storage: (I know it's overkill...) 120GB BPX NVMe SSD 500GB WD M.2 SSD (Not NVMe) 2x240GB Kingston A400 SSD 3TB 7200rpm HDD 1TB 7200rpm HDD 500GB 7200rpm HDD Monitor: 2x1080p 60Hz Dell While I mostly use my PC for gaming, I also use it for data analysis, deep learning and development. That is why I plan to also upgrade the CPU to the 1st gen 16-core TR (I know this means new Motherboard and Cooler). So, having this in mind these are my questions: Should I upgrade to a newer GPU? Or should I buy another GTX 1070 and use SLI? Should I do the CPU or GPU upgrade first? Would my PSU hold for an SLI solution WITH the TR (180W)? Why does Linus Sebastian always wear socks with sandals? I know it's a lot to answer and consider, thanks.
