  1. My build is this 3570k @ stock. P8Z77-M motherboard G. Skill 2133mhz 8gigs ram 2x corsair high performance static pressure fans 2 stock cooler master blademaster fans SSD: 120gb samsung HDD: laptop drive 320gb ish I can't see my build pulling that much power from the wall at this point
  2. That's what i'm figuring is it worth the money to get a gtx 760? I was looking at benchmarks, and saw it performed similar to a 7970, and I know it's got a gtx 670 core in it if I remember correctly. How are Asus' card though? I'm skeptical because I've never purchased a card from them before.
  3. A few days ago I got my 7850 back in the mail from RMA, and to my regret it's once again pretty effed up to say the least. I'm not going to send it back and get it repaired because sapphire (the manufacturer) is not responding to my emails the last few days. Thing is my first one was probably fine, and was having a software acceleration issue in firefox that made me think it was artifacting on screen. Now I've got this 145 dollar paper weight. OH WELL, thank god for christmas monies . I've included a "repair job" and their solder joints on the card they're pretty terabad. Thinking about getting a 200 dollar ish video card, and i'm leaning towards Nvidia cards because I have not had any issues with their drivers, the cards themselves, and the manufacturers. Here are a couple of cards i'm considering Asus Gtx 760 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121775 Asus Gtx 660 http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=76367&vpn=GTX660-DC2O-2GD5&manufacture=ASUS&promoid=1051 Finally the EVGA gtx 660 ftw edition http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=91929&vpn=02G-P4-3063-KR&manufacture=eVGA&promoid=1051 Tell me your thoughts on these cards, and should I got all out buying the gtx 760? Please make a valid arguement, and don't start a flame war between AMD/Nvidia. I game at 1080p, and play all kinds of games Also would my Corsair Builder series 500M be reliable enough to power that gtx 760?
  4. Should I go to a local computer store, and see if they'll let me install a different video card to verify it's not my motherboard that's the problem?
  5. that's what i'm going to do, but this is insane. The thing should work, I literally am doing nothing wrong. and my pc is more than capable of powering/handling the card.
  6. Got this graphics card back from sapphire's tech it's a sapphire 1gb 7850 OC edition http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=14-202-004&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Keywords=%28keywords%29&Page=1#scrollFullInfo Now I did a clean install of windows, and the thing is worse than when i RMA'd the card initially. Drivers randomly crash, and there's artifacting on screen. Pretty sure it's the card, but i don't have another to install to make sure it's not my motherboard slot, or anything else. My build is: CPU: i5 3570k mobo: asus p8Z77-m (latest BIOS 2105) Ram: g. skill 2133 sniper 1.6V @ 11-11-11-30 GPU: 7850 1gb SSD: samsung 840 120gb (boot drive) PSU: corsair 500m wireless card is installed in a x8 PCI-E lane Any course of action that i should take next? this is the second seemingly bad card i've gotten from them. Thanks. I've run memtest x86 for 9 hours with no errors, made sure everything is plugged in correctly, made sure integrated graphics are disabled, made sure there's no intel graphics drivers interfering with one another. Used the Latest 13.12 whql catalyst drivers from AMD's website. I'm at my whits end, and want to give up PCs forever. just want to play my games without messed up hardware. Thanks! you guys are a great community
  7. I keep running into issues, and it's kind of discouraging... can't figure out why this card won't work. Should i try it in another system? then try a different graphics card in my system? But i don't have the option of throwing it into another system. What's the next best option?
  8. Just got my RMA'd graphics card back it's a 7850 1gb OC edition card. Now now i know there's better cards out there that will smash this one to pieces, but for the price it was a good card at the time. Let's not talk about performance of the card rather who's had issues with sapphire cards? Am I the only one who's gotten two effed up cards that just won't work from sapphire? my first one had graphical issues when using firefox and google chrome. The second one is having issues; such as, frequent driver crashes, graphical enomilies, and other random glitchiness. what are your thoughts about sapphire? Am I crazy, and can't get them to work with my motherboard. For now I'm giving it a rest, but I'm going to get another graphics card then test with my motherboard to see if that's the problem.
  9. My advice when building a new computer around christmas time is make a list either on pcpartspicker, a notepad, and maybe on an RSS feed if you're good at that kind of thing. Have a few different options in mind for a motherboard, cpu, RAM, case (especially) around this time of year cases can get cheap. Buy the items in either bundles, or when you see a good deal on a few things. Lastly don't nickel and dime yourself to death, the best way to go over your budget is to buy little thing one at a time then you'll realize you've got 4 extra case fans, and a sound card that weren't absolutely nessacary because they were a "Good deal". Budget, know what you want, don't nickel and dime yourself, and DO NOT FACTOR in mail-in-rebates because what if you have to return that part? Then you've cut out the side of the box, and your return has to go through to the company rather than through an easy exchange through newegg, ncix, and other e-tailers. Tell us your build plans in the builds section, and then you can start to make a list of what you'll need.
  10. alrighty cool added the both of you. we have most of the same tiered tanks .
  11. This is not a text passing through that's a noise I'm familiar with
  12. Need a little advice for some troubleshooting The issue I'm having is when i'm watching a flash video using adobe flash, and browsing the interwebz the video with stutter for a second, and the audio will elongate while a "ZZZZZZ" sound through my speakers will happen. It's like a slight freezing that I don't understand why is happening. My theory, the integrated graphics is overtaxed, thereby, making it unstable. I used to hard lock when such an issue would occur. so far I've tried - updating my integrated graphics driver - running memtestx86 for 9 hours (no errors) - uninstalling Folding@home (because of it's ability to stress a system, albeit, slightly. - no overclocking on the chip currently, and the issue doesn't occur while in games; such as, WOT, league, batman arkham asylum. I'm waiting for my RMA'd graphics card in the meantime, but this issue scares me when it crops up. Especially when wearing headphones and the video will freeze and that "ZZZZZZ" sound will come through. Please help any suggestions are welcomed. System specs: CPU: i5 3570k RAM: 8 gb G. skill 2133 mhz @ 11-11-11-30 2T timings GPU: intel integrated 4000 series MOBO: Asus P8Z77-M PSU: corsair builder series 500M SSD: samsung 840 120 gb HDD: WD caviar blue 500gb
  13. nope it's not halflife 3 time lol. there's only 2 games given away not 3
  14. got my nexus for 220 when it launched. Really like it . that's a great deal!
  15. The results are in! There were 10 items in your list. Here they are in random order: AlwaysFSX (Dead space winner) Flyguygamer (bf3 winner) T.Vengeance IDprofile Matsy iSaeko ChompingCho DirkaFat gastew15 BgG286 Timestamp: 2013-12-13 01:21:36 UTC
  16. Wait so you don't want either, or to be in the drawing?
  17. Finals are over, and i'm feeling like doing something nice. Got some good grades this semester and didn't bomb any final lol. It's Time to give away 2 games 1) Dead space 2) Battlefield 3 First 10 people to comment on this post will be entered in a randomly generated drawing; whereby, 2 different people will get one copy of one of the games. For Instance, i will draw 2 people randomly, the first person drawn (so to speak) gets dead space, and the second Bf3. Both keys are by origin activation. If you have trouble with the activation codes then... I'm sorry, but i'm not gonna buy you another copy. (it was free after all) I don't think I've used either of the codes. I will Pm you the activation codes after it's all said and done.
  18. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7983424&csid=_61 whoops idk why the link decided to randomly fk itself it was working a moment ago. Don't worry crazyswede I've got an asus P8Z77-M pro mobo that has the asus fan controller 2 suite. Which probably is my favorite thing about the board. I use it for all my case fans
  19. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=7983424&csid=_61 Letting the link speak for itself. I ordered 2 of them because aren't they usually 25 dollars for the 2 pack?
  20. um, 8320 guys? for 190 dollars i'd get a 4570 if you're planning on overclocking it's like 190 right now, that and some sort of Z87 mobo there's plenty out there. Reason being, better per core performance than an 8320 please don't argue about "when you overclock" i'm comparing stock for stock
  21. Hey LTT forum bros, just thought I'd run this past you guys before I bought it because it's always a good idea to get a second opinion Thinking about snagging this deal on newegg.com because I want to Overclock my new 3570k, and contribute more to the folding at home team. Things i like out of cpu coolers -Quiet -Efficent -able to run good overclocks without sounding like a freaking hair drier. Saw this deal today http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835214023 - It's only got a 21dba rating - would most likely fit in my cooler master N200 case -Teksyndicate did a review on it and it had adequate performance Questions: Should I get it, and be able to achieve a moderate overclock (depending on my lottery ticket)? Would it most likely fit in my cooler master N200 which has 6.3 inches of clearance between the side panel and I don't have a side case fan installed? Any other suggestions on cpu coolers is welcome. trying to stay under 50 dollars for one. Which limits mean mostly to air cooling. Thanks!
  22. named mine Unholy Alliance because of the plethora of case badges and companies i've bought stuff from that are in it, and peripherals i've got. Nothing is really from the same company
  23. Are you planning on buying keyboard, monitor, and mouse? And i'd suggest going full atx because AMD micro atx boards are not as feature rich as the larger ATX boards
  24. It's alot more scewed than that, but thanks i forgot to set that up lol. The problems have not propped up since i switched cables last night, but havn't had enough time to test it. Seems to be a random occurance either when i've snapped two windows on my screen, or the monitor has awakened from sleep.
