  1. Wow that phone looks amazing.. Also: vacuuming your cat seems like a fast way to get in trouble
  2. Running a 256GB Kingston SSD on my PC and a Fujitsu NAS box on the network with 2x1TB drives on it for nightly backups. Both were the cheapest solution I could find at the moment of purchase.
  3. I still have my Atari ST stored away somewhere in my mothers house.. Good times playing bubble bobble, lemmings etc. with my little brother :)
  4. whoa there sparky. That might be true but nothing hurts to ask in this world. He wanted to know if Linus knew or not. He PMed Linus so he might get an answer or Linus might tell him to talk to NCIX but either way he will be pointed in the right Direction. No reason to get up in someones face because it wasn't the route you would of taken. Eh? I was just pointing him to the right place instead of him wasting his time here. Or maybe more importantly wasting other people's time too (Linus gets a shitton of private messages every day and can't possibly respond to every one, especially when they aren't something he should care about). Also it's would have not would of. Education, fuck yeah.
  5. This is the Linus Tech Tips community forum, not NCIX forums. And even though Linus works for NCIX he can't possibly know the status of every product and order there (and it isn't even his job there). Go send a message directly to NCIX support or go to the NCIX forums instead.

    Laggy host

Unfortunately this sounds like your internet connection is the problem here. You should run some basic tests to figure out your upload speeds and ping times to nearby cities to confirm this. As an explanation for this: MW2 and other Call of Duty games use P2P hosting system more commonly seen in console titles and such gives an unfair advantage to the host as they can play with no latency. This is of course amplified if the host has poor connectivity to the other players increasing their ping to the server. The only way to reduce the effect is for the host to have a beastly connection just as a "normal" dedicated game server would have (in the range of 10/10 and upwards + low pings to the other players).. Or you could just play a PC game with dedicated server support instead of a half-assed console port, but that is besides the point and won't really help you with the problem.
  7. There are some rare cases of PC games including a split screen mode, and honestly I can't see this happening without build-in support from the game developers as without it you would have to either 1) modify the game to support split screen multiplayer 2) somehow run multiple instances of the game on one PC. Unfortunately both of these have so many downsides (low performance, hard to achieve..) that you're better of playing a game that supports split screen to begin with. PS: This thread should be moved to the PC Gaming subforum instead of being in general discussion...
  8. See this earlier thread on subject.
  9. Got a GTX670 with a AC Accelero Mono+ cooler and a custom BIOS on board. Overclocked to match GTX680 performance for half the price while the custom cooler keeps it well under 70C even on burn-in type loads (it is extremely silent too as the only noise comes from a 120mm fan) :)
