  1. New System Specs: Gigabyte Z490 Xtreme F8 Bios revision 10850K Stock speeds RTX 3090 1TB 960pro nvme ssd. 4 x 32GB 4000mhz Trident Z Royals Problem: I can not get all 4 ram modules to 4000 using XMP. Manual OC I can get all 4 to 3400. If I remove 2 modules I can get them to 4000 XMP. When I swap out 2 for 2 it works at 4000 XMP. Basically in groups of 2 the ram will work at 4000 XMP. But not all together. Is this a mobo issue? or a ram issue? In all my years I have never had an issue with the mobo ram slots. Idk what to do other then return the ram to Newegg.
  2. Country: Toronto, Canada. Hello, Its been 8ish years since I last upgraded my platform and have a few questions. But first, context: Current Build: CPU - 4770k @ 4.5Ghz MOBO - Gigabyte z87?..something OC on custom bios to boot from NVME RAM - 32gb RipJaw something HDD - Samsumg 960 pro nvme PSU - Corsair RM 850 GPU - GTX 1080ti / RTX 3090 (came in early) Monitor - ROG PG35V | 3440x1440 @ 200Hz Monitor 2 - 2560x1440 @ 144Hz Vertical Cooling - some triple fan Corsair something or other aio Keeb - RAMA M60A, Zelios, Carbon SA I seem to be loosing 80-110fps cus of CPU bottle next . Getting 99fps in Apex Legends, up from 89fps! New Build (Already Purchased) CPU - 10850K MOBO - Gigabyte z490 Aorus Extreme RAM - 64gb Trident Royals HDD - Sumdung 960 pro nvme TRANSFER PSU - Corsair RM 850 TRANSFER GPU - RTX 3090 FTW3 Cooling - Corsair something AIO TRANSFER Question: 1. How do I set up windows/all my files? Can I just plug in my SSD like a little Lego and update drivers? 2. Whats changed since I last was in the loop in terms of setting up BIOS? 3. I've come across 'ram timing' phrase which wasn't much of a thing back then. Do I need to know about it? If I do, could someone explain? 4. Am I missing something? Is there some information you guys think I should know? 5. Any thing I can do to make my new PC feel snappier/faster? I already have separate 2.5inch ssd drives for Media/Games/Backup/2ndBackup Thank you for your time. Stay frosty. Yes I will post on PCMR with 'First Build' title /s
  3. saw this on reddit, would love if someone here could confirm by taking one apart. Also it would be neat to see if LTT can install their own ssd and modify a mag
  4. Hello from Toronto! So I have a 4770K in a Gigabyte Z87 OC Mobo but now my mobo is giving me a bunch of issues and just needs to be changed at this point. I don't want to have to upgrade my whole rig because I really cant afford it atm. I looked online at whats available for Z87/Z97 and there is not much options, very basic options available. So my questions is this. LinusCatTips Community. Do any of you have a Z87/Z97 MOBO I can buy off you that is comparable if not better then the one I currently Have? Preferably in working condition. Pls n Thanks sorry for posting
  5. Titan Xm doesn't come close to a 1080. I have a gtx 1070 on my side VR rig and that hilariously outperforms my Titan. With my Titan overclocked and 1070 stock. Its sad. But yea, there is no comparison between TitanXm and 1080.
  6. no, my tittyx isnt all that great. i get 70-80 fps on overwatch max settings. I wish I was hitting 100+. I cant even play Mankind Divided...i get 11-14 fps on max settings. For Witcher I get 60-80ish fps. Drops pretty low actually on max. I spent 1300cad on a monitor, i want to play on max settings so at the time i spent 1200cad on a gpu. But now its feeling kinda underpowered tbh.
  7. So I have a first gen Titan X (maxwell) on my main rig with a 1440p gsync 144hz monitor. I basically want to play Mass Effect A. On max settings with 144fps. Do you guys think a 1080ti can do that? I don't know if I should wait for next gen or upgrade now. What do you guys think?
  8. "I will try to keep this as short as possible" he said......Horse Radish I say.
  9. Hello from Toronto, So ill try to keep this as short as possible. - I purchased a Razer Blade Pro 2014 (256GB) when it launched. - I recently tried to upgrade the HDD/SSD When I removed the bottom case I was surprised to see that there is a perfect cut out for a 2.5inch hdd/ssd including mounting points. Razer BPro 2013 came with 2hdd, so does current RazerBPro 2015. 1 HDD and 1 SSD. The 2014 was marketed as having a bigger battery!! But it doesn't, exact same size as all previous models, just a empty space beside it. OK that's a little weird...ill just contact Razer and ask if they offer HDD Upgrades this is what they said: Salutations PrXXXX , Sorry, as we do not offer such upgrades. The space was left by our engineers for various reasons. <---------VARIOUS REASONS!! All specs and options are as listed on our site. Best Regards, Steven M. Razer - CSM I contacted them again and asked them to send me instructions on upgrading the SSD (before I upgrade to windows 10). I studied Comp Sci at Queens and was a Cert. Appl Tech/Genius so I have extensive knowledge in repairing/building and upgrading PCs' but when I opened the RBP the entire build is very very custom in order to accommodate the SBUI (Switch Blade UI) so I asked for instructions just to be safe with my 4k investment. This is what they said: Salutations PrXXXX , Sorry, as due to liability reasons we are not able to assist with the modification of any Razer system. Sincerely, Steven M. Razer Customer Support TL/DR Help me Upgrade the SSD on my 2014 Razer Blade Pro and if possible install a 2.5inch HDD. I already carry a massive external and wish to cut down on..carrying stuff. Sincerely, A Burning Derp in the really odd case Linus sees this, Congrats on the enormous success of your channel...blondie. EDIT (1) I tried the whole iFIXIT route, wasn't helpful in the slightest.
  10. Contest Entry: My favorite part of the review was Linus ripping on people who have to watch videos on a mirror. As crazy as it sounds it....sort of makes sense...in a twisted way. I am happy to see that the Z2 has front facing speakers. They have proven to every one that you can still have style and practicality at the same time. Thanks Linus for the review.
  11. omg...why forum..stop posting multiple times for me.
  12. why is is posting multiple times ? >.>
  13. CONTEST ENTRY: There is a lot to like about this phone. I have been looking for a phone to replace my moms old Samsung Focus Windows Phone. For her I think this is a perfect phone because of the Easy Home function and when she is ready to use the normal home screen she can switch back. Not to mention the ridiculous amount of customization that can be done to make the UI...easier to read..bigger..and personal. However the 1 thing that completely sold me on this phone for myself is the ability to make the keyboard smaller! I have been begging the phone gods for this function since 2007 and FINALLY its here...couple that with the clipboard and omg....this is the ultimate texting phone! haha. Suffice to say, I hope I get selected as 1 of the 25. my twitter handle is @Prosad btw. great vid Linus >.<
