  1. Hey guys so I finally place all my orders for my build. Got some decent coupons and stuff from black friday deals. Wondering if everything here looks ok? I can still return/exchange some items if you think there is something else I can get. I'm mostly unsure about the motherboard as I'm not too familiar with the intel boards. Thanks PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Type Item Price CPU Intel - Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor $386.99 CPU Cooler Cooler Master - MasterLiquid Lite 240 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler $65.99 @ Newegg Canada Motherboard Gigabyte - Z370 AORUS Gaming 3 (rev. 1.0) ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $157.50 Memory Team - Vulcan 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory $131.99 Storage Samsung - 860 Evo 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $99.99 @ Amazon Canada Storage Seagate - Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive $94.99 @ Newegg Canada Video Card Gigabyte - GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB GAMING OC Video Card $621.99 Case Phanteks - Eclipse P350X (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case $84.99 @ Canada Computers Power Supply EVGA - SuperNOVA G1+ 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply $83.16 Monitor AOC - AG271QG 27.0" 2560x1440 165 Hz Monitor $679.99 Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $2407.58 Generated by PCPartPicker 2018-11-21 13:15 EST-0500 (I got the non rgb, gigabyte black gaming oc 2070) It is the higher binned one right?
  2. I need a mobo for around $150 for this cpu. I will OC. don't need wifi or bluetooth. i was currently looking at ASUS Prime Z370-P - $135 CAD MSI Z370 GAMING PLUS - $155 CAD any other suggestions also welcome. thanks!
  3. I thought about that also but 8700k is going for almost the same price as the 9700k right now. From benchmarks I've seen, the 9th gen is slightly faster...
  4. What's wrong with this one? Can you recommend another one slightly better than 1080 right? and they are going for about the same price here in Canada

I'm almost ready with my new build. I'm just trying to get this build under $2400 (without changing the monitor). I thought about maybe going with the 9600k instead of the i7 here but I multitask a lot and will have more than 1 screen going and maybe some light streaming. Any advice? Thanks
  6. From the benchmarks I've seen, a ryzen 2700 falls behind quite a bit in gaming performance to 9600k and it's even more costly. Not sure if it would be worth it.. Also, which motherboard would you recommend? thnx
  7. Just to add, I'm not super into very competetive games like CS:GO or anything but I've always used 60hz and have heard the jump to 60+ is quite noticeable. I really want an IPS because of the colour accuracy.

I'm trying to get this build cost down a little bit to under $2200. Anyone got suggestions? It's mostly the monitor I am hesitating on right now. Definitely want 1440p but not sure if the 144hz + gsync is worth the premium when I could get a different 1440p IPS monitor for like 300 if I compromise on the gsync and 60+ hz. Is it worth it? Any other component changes? Thanks in advance!
  9. I know there are some recommendations there too. I was wondering if anyone had specific builds they could come up with that I could use as a guide.
  10. With such high prices of gpus and ram lately, is it possible to build a decent rig + monitor for under $1800 Canadian? I don't need windows. The hard part is that I would have to fit a monitor into that budget. Thanks for any recommendations
  11. Building a gaming rig for 1080p. Might change to 1440p later on. Any suggested builds? Thanks! don't need monitor, windows or peripherals.
  12. would any canadian retailer price match this? D:
