  1. I think I am just going to give up on Freesync and just get a used curved ultrawide.
  2. From what I can see they are mostly working towards freesync 4k monitors. Not much for ultrawides. LG has a 34" ultrawide with freesync, but it is only 1080p. They offer several different ultrawide 1440p monitors, but none with freesync.
  3. Just wondering if there are other ultrawide 1440p monitors out there with freesync. Not sure if I am ready to throw down 1k on a monitor quite yet.
  4. I got mine for $80 new when they were on sale at Jet for the MkII. I would think you could find them cheaper used.
  5. I can do that. The PSBs are made by the same person who made the HP50s (Paul Barton) I thought they were the same driver until I watched a shootout between them. They have more soundstage than any closed headphone I have ever tried, which I guess is the whole "Roomfeel" technology. Unpowered they are slightly V shaped, but not too prominent. The M4U 2 offers an internal amp that does give the headphones a slight bass boost, but if you are using them for home use, the M4U 1 are the same headphone without the amp or ANC for $50 less. Pretty easy to drive, pads are a little small but not uncomfortable. Is fold-able for traveling. Not the best lookers (mine in white more so). Has a 3.5mm input on both sides which you only need to use one side, which is great for the BoomPro. Other side would be used to share music, kinda gimmicky IMO. The MEE Audio M6 Pros I can't go into too much detail for sound since I have not had my pair in almost 3 months (loaned to a certain someone for review). They offer a lot for their $50 price, which includes several eartips and a pair of comply tips. Has a detachable cable, as well as it comes with an extra cable. Has over the ear fit with memory wire. I think they may be a little bright, but not too bad.
  6. I didn't notice this until you posted it in another thread. Great suggestions. Couple things I will try to contribute... 668Bs may want to fall more towards the open end than closed. Takstar HI2050s are soon going to be over $100 since they have recently gone over a revision, and the ones now are just selling the old stock (I personally think the Pioneer SE-A1000 is a superior sounding headphone for the money). Probably going to be the same for the SHP9500 unfortunately. You could add the PSBs beside the NAD VISO HP50s since they are very similar. Lastly the M6 Pros should probably belong in the budget IEMs.
  7. For that budget I would suggest getting the PSB M4U1 and a Vmoda BoomPro. The Audio-Technica MSR7 or NAD HP50 may work as well, but I don't think they offer as much soundstage. Edit: Forgot that they are $250 new, but you can often find them used for under $200.

    T50RP Modding?

Doing it yourself is always more fun. I do love my pair. I will suggest that you have some sort of decent amp for these, as they do take a lot of power.

    T50RP Modding?

WOuld depend on how cheap you can get the materials, and how cheap you can find the headphones. that isn't that bad of a deal really.
  10. You are such a trooper. I am surprised you haven't just given a "yeah sure" response by now. Also to OP, unless you are looking for that one to help support Mayflower Electronics, you will most likely have money by getting a Schiit Magni/Modi or get the Massdrop version of the O2+ODAC when it is available.

    T50RP Modding?

Pretty much this. The DBV 3 mod is probably the best option for getting a great sounding headphone for not too much work.
  12. Literally the open version of the Clouds without a mic since they are the open version of the Takstar Pro80s ( What the HyperX Clouds are made from). For competitive gaming they would be a better option since they have better soundstage and imaging. Unfortunately they have recently gone over a revision recently and are now more expensive. If you can find some Philips SHP9500s that would always be my best suggestion for a gaming headphone (and headset) as long as they stay under $100, which you can add a Vmoda BoomPro for a mic easily.
  13. Technically an amp will be more like the power supply. As long as you have enough power to drive them you will be fine.
  14. They have the same drivers so they will sound the same. You can have it connected just by the 3.5mm jack, but you will need to use the included splitter to split the audio and the mic. The USB dongle is technically its own DAC, but it most likely won't have any better sound quality than your motherboard.
  15. They both sound the same. The Cloud II have more features with the 7.1 dongle, but that is not needed. The Cloud II does have a better mic, but not by much.
  16. Just stick on pieces of paper with little happy bushes painted on them.
  17. You could mod them to have a detachable cable.
  18. Optoma HD141X $549 ELAC C5 $180 ELAC B6 $280 Fluance AVBP2 $120 Sony STRDH550$185 Dayton SUB-1200$150 Just do 5.1. Try to find used things on Craigslist (most likely receiver) to save some money for a screen and speaker stands. You could probably substitute the Fluances for something cheaper like the Micca COVO-S's since you don't really need that expensive of rears.
  19. Yeah DLP still pretty much has the market for projectors. I am quite happy with my Optima HD20 and will probably continue to use it until 4k projectors come available cheap. 2000 hours is generally 5 years of normal use, which you can sometimes find the OEM bulb for a lot cheaper ( I think I stocked a couple of bulbs after finding them for about $50 each). If you would like there is a buying guide for projectors, which you can find here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Zeos/comments/3nzxmj/guide_projectors/
  20. Whoa buddy, hold your horses. The BoomPro will not work with the NVX since they are dual plug instead of single 3.5mm input for the cups. Edit: If you really like the BoomPro apparently these have pretty good soundstage for closed headphones, and are decent for gaming. They are a little more pricey though, but are available for a little over $130 used.
  21. They are pretty much Rebranded Brainwavz MH5 and they are very good for the price. I will agree with sobe and say that the MX0x line is a terrible option for gaming. They have absolutely no soundstage, which is what you need for positional audio with gaming. Closed headphones in general lack soundstage, but the NVX does have decent soundstage for closed headphones. If you could stand to have sound leakage of open headphones I still would suggest a pair of Philips SHP9500 + a Vmoda BoomPro.
  22. Would be great for music, but would not be great for gaming since it has a limited soundstage. the only decent amp/dac I can recommend for under $70 is the SMSL SD793-II, but you will need optical or coax plug on your motherboard to use it.
  23. Those look beautiful, welcome to the coaxial speaker club!
  24. You do understand that the noise levels were increased to show the difference? Do you really think AMD stock cooler sounds like a leaf blower?
