  1. After moving to a new flat, I have noticed that my computer has begun to behave extremely weirdly. My observations: - Mouse cuts off for 1-2 seconds, then comes back on (mouse lights done turn off) - Mobo "Gigabyte" Logo displays for around 30 seconds when starting up. - With the screens turned off, the computer runs for about 20 seconds after being turned off - Opening up a drive (eg. E:) takes a very long time, and sometimes fails. - Weird browser related glitches, desktop icons sometimes appear through chrome. This is all on a brand new install of Windows 8 (all updated), my specs are: -i5 3570k -Gigabyte 7950 -2x4 1600 mhz corsair ram - Gigabyte Ga-Z77-D3H Motherboard - Samsung 840 Series MZ-7TD 120GB SSD (C: Drive) If there is anything, anything anyone can suggest, Ill do it.

  4. Favourite thing about the Z2 is the metal body. Nothing makes a phone feel more premium that a sturdy and beautiful shell. Something I Looooove about dbrand is the fact that the skins are really thin and feel like they came with the phone. I cant stand flappy and bulky pouch cases!
  5. So my brother recently got his laptop fixed - his audio jack had something jammed in it which couldn't be removed without removing the jack. We gave the laptop to some mainstream laptop repair company (in New Zealand) and after we got it back, in 6 hours the laptop died. It powered on, but did not show anything on the display at all. We gave the laptop back to the repairers, thinking they could have broken it while repairing it, but they denied any wrong doing because they gave it back to us in working condition. They determined that the fault was in the GPU, but then changed their mind that it was a problem with the mobo (nothing specific) and charged us $300 to replace it (which we refused) What I'm thinking: REPAIR FRAUD. Could it be possible that they overclocked and over volted the cpu or the gpu to something ridiculous that it just killed itself in 6 hours time, and if they did, is there a way to check the laptop of any overclocking records on the HDD? Any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated, its a really frustrating matter. Thanks! ~ilia_bro
  6. My favourite thing about this phone is the structural integrity and removable battery along with the metallic looking finish. Take notes Samsung!
  7. So I'm getting a new home theater system and was checking out this LG system. It has speakers coming up from the top of the 4 stands which face the ceiling. Apparently it bounces off the ceiling and creates a better sound experience or some shit. It sounds a bit gimmicky so I was wanting to ask some audiophiles whether this is really beneficial for the price you pay for this system. Thanks. http://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-BH9530TW-Blu-ray-Wireless-Speakers-Black/dp/B00BXJ8SLK
  8. I never had a smartphone, currently I have a Nokia 302; I've been meaning to get a smart phone for ages and non of them appealed to me... until now. The M8 is a damn good looking phone, my favourite feature would definitely have to be the solid aluminium body, composed of 90% metal. It is glorious.
  9. Most of the stuff on the C drive is games and programs. I cant really move origin and steam which alone take up around 80 gigs of space.
  10. I have a 120gb samsung 840 ssd as the C drive, and a 2tb barracuda as a storage drive. In about 3 weeks after building the PC, I'm already running out of space on my C drive and I need some advice on which options I should take. In my mind there are 2: - Buy another 120gb ssd and make a raid 0 - Buy a 260gb ssd to use as the C drive and use the remaining 120gb as a seperate storage drive. Option #2 would be twice more expensive, but I'm looking for the most effective way with the least amount of hassle and am willing to pay for that. For each option, I would need to somehow transfer all the data, including the OS and I have no clue on how to do that! Some links to video tutorials (idk if Linus has some) would be much appreciated!
  11. I got it fro 320 New Zealand Dollars, which is still too expensice, but what can you do when you live on an island in the middle of no where
  12. I recently I decided to upgrade my router from a crappy technicolor wifi router modem which was provided with my ISP to a modern Netgear R6200 modem/router. Taking it out of the box, I was really impressed with the design of the router itself, because it didn't look like a router at all because when you think of a router, you think of lots of antennas and cables sticking out. But the R6200 is very elegant and the logo lights up and the cables exit downwards from the router so it makes less mess and just looks neater. Connecting to the internet and setting up the wifi was a breeze... BUT.... as soon as I tried setting up a local cloud, the R6200 did not detect my WD 1TB HD. I was trying for around 20 minutes to get it to work when I finally gave up and decided to search the inter webs for an answer. Soon, I had discovered that my particular router DID NOT support my hard drive, and there was a list (of around 20 makes) that were supported!! I was COMPLETELY OUTRAGED since Netgear advertised this router as " Connect ANY external USB storage device to store data on a local network" For a freaking router to cost $320, I expect it to have top specs (and it does, regarding speeds) but something SIMPLE as USB storage compatibility?!?!?!?! That is just RIDICULOUS. If there is ANYONE who can explain why such compatibility issues occur, please comment on this thread!!!!! And I also wanted to WARN people to check with their external USB HD's, that they are COMPATIBLE with routers.
  13. Use the H100i fans as exhaust? But thats using the warm air from inside the case to cool the radiatior which doesn't make sence. I thought it would be better to use the cold air from outside the case to cool the rad then just get the side fan to take it out (but maybe the one exhaust fan is enough?) wacha think
