  1. Well no one in my family knows what the Task Bar is. You know that thing with all the icons that has been there forever! My mom doesn't know what the menu button on her phone is. And my step mom NEVER closes IOS apps. I tell her she should, and when I explain it she responds, "I don't remember how I get to that, so I just wait for you to come and do it." Also my family doesn't know a single thing about Windows 8. I built a family computer to replace the old one and I installed Windows 8 and no matter how many time you try to explain how to get to the desktop no one knows a thing about what the desktop even is!

You should update to 8.1. This will enable the "Boot to desktop" option (which is enabled by default) and adds the start button.

  2. My dad aswell. He calls me an idiot for doing it, after using a mac for 12 years

He doesn't call me an idiot, however he sometimes asks why do I buy stuff nicely & legally. Probably because he taught me to become a pirate like him. Most of my stuff (including Windows) is legal.

  3. Hello.

I have noticed that some people complain about having mobos with green PCBs while black PCBs are considered the best ones. What is the difference? Or is it what I think it is, just looks? Personally I'm quite happy with my green PCB.

  4. Hello,

I'm planning a system build to replace my current one and I'm wondering whether to buy a Pentium G3258 and overclock it or to buy an i3-4330 and save money on the mobo and cooling. This system will be used mostly for Microsoft Flight Simulator (which is 32-bit and probably single-core), running virtual machines and gaming. My current PC has an i3 550 (2 cores /w hyperthreading, 3.2 GHz). Here's a link to the PCPartPicker list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Speedbird/saved/ZdDJ7P

  5. Tell him to use Linux, if he will just do office work and web browsing it is fine. If it is for you then you need to convince him somehow.

He's actually planning to move to Linux Mint and is waiting for that laptop to break down (it's 7 years old) so he can buy a new one. I've tried convicing him to buy it, but he just won't buy it. Home Premium licences are only about 80 euros here and there are some places that sell Ultimate retail keys for only $17.

    You missed rule number 3.

    A few more things:

I need an optical drive. I have a bunch of software on DVDs.

I also need an SD card reader (should've mentioned that in the part description)

I have heard some about some issues where SeaSonic PSUs wouldn't fit into Corsair cases. Also, the Corsair 200R is a lot better and a few euros cheaper.

The fact that I asked for an AMD equivalent of the GTX750 Ti means that I want to use it or the R7 265.

  7. You can get a much better build for that price, also you are using the US pcpartpicker http://de.pcpartpicker.com/p/dVymFT

    Rules for my build:

    1. I will use the Pentium G3258

    2. I will overclock. No stock coolers!

    3. I will use my spare WD Green drive for storage.

    4. I will use an SSD with at least 250 GB storage.

    5. Gigabyte boards are preferred.

The OP lives in a European country hence the euros. He can't use newegg. Rebates are a US thing I think and pricing can vary in different countries so it's best for him to look up the prices where he lives.

There's a computer store near my home and I will order all of my parts from there. That's also where I get all the prices. Also, what benefit do I get by using the German PCPartPicker? I do not get my prices from there, I check the site for my computer store.

  8. 265, but what is your budget for the entire build?

900 euros, including Windows 8.1 OEM. Here's the PCPartPicker list http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Speedbird/saved/ZdDJ7P

Just go with the 750Ti. It has more features and runs cooler than any other card in it's price range.

I need to know the AMD equivalent in case I go for an option to add another card in the future (the board supports CrossFireX but not SLI and I'm not changing that).

  9. Hello,

I plan on building a computer with an Intel Pentium G3258 (which I will overclock to 4.7GHz) and an Asus GeForce GTX 750 Ti and I'm wondering what would be the AMD equivalent for that card, in case I go that way. Also, what would be AMD equivalent for the GeForce Experience (it sounds stupid, but I don't know s**t about AMD cards).

  10. My motherboard, it has a green pcb, only sata 2, only usb 2 ect

    And LGA1156?

I use a VGA monitor and have one exhaust fan currently but I just ordered a Noctua NF-P12 1300 so that's soon to change

1080p VGA here with no exhaust fans at all.

I have an AMD HD 5450 as a gpu

    No usb3

    only sata 2

my monitor sucks and I have no plans to buy a new one

    I use a 10+ year old keyboard

Leg me guess: LGA1156 and an i3. That would be my mobo.
