1. When did high-mile E39 M5s start trading in the low 30s? I always knew the collectable, low mile ones were expensive, I didn't realize that the normal ones had shot up in price too. Sauce: https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/d/redwood-estates-2001-e39-m5-in-pristine/7363671611.html
2. My 64GB iPhone SE (2nd gen) is now out of storage. Doesn't even have enough to update to the latest version of iOS.

I really wanted this phone to last for five years, but alas looks like a mid-lifecycle swap is in order.

Has anyone bit the bullet and sprung for the 512GB iPhone so they never have to worry about storage?

3. Actually many people are using XP machines who are not hobbyists. A lot of airport terminals still use XP machines for boarding pass printing, check-ins etc. It's actually a huge problem, because of the issue of security updates, etc.
4. I run an RTX 3070 at 5760x1200 (which iirc is more pixels than 1440p) and I've had no issues. Remember, an RTX 3070 = RTX 2080Ti in performance, and people didn't have problems playing at 1440p on those cards.
5. The problem with this (imo, anyways) is that most people don't road trip that frequently, so they would rather just buy an electric car with 200+ miles of range instead of a hybrid like the Chevy Volt. I would totally rock a Tesla Model 3 and a fun sports car.

pakidge CPU 👀 X99 PC can have a 5960X as a litt…

What do you use the X99 PC for now that you have the Ryzen one?
7. Soon you're going to tell me that he's moved to Florida, bought a boat, and owns a Corvette
8. You don't have be good at golf, you just have to look like you know what you're doing, you don't need to actually know what you're doing
9. Nah Americans measure trunk space by the number of golf bags that you can fit in it. The Albanians measure trunk space by the number of bodies
10. With 200+ mile ranges, why wouldn't you just be able to charge your car at your garage at home? Honestly, for me, being able to come home and just plug my car in is wayyyy more convenient compared to going to a gas station.

Found the invoice for the first "family compute…

Jeez the tax on that computer is really high...
12. But why would you want a GPU to be socketed? Having PCI-E as a unified standard is really great, as even really old computers can install modern graphics cards.
13. I don't know if I would keep cash on hand with inflation at 4.6%... Probably would just invest the rest of the money in stocks and use margin if I needed cash.
14. Yeah it's pretty nice to have a car that you can depend on without having to think about if it's going to break on you. If you don't mind me asking, did you finance the vehicle? I might get a new (new to me, used car) car in the future and was wondering what rates were like for ~ 2012-era ish cars.
15. Congrats on the new job! I know you hate spending money but it's nice to splurge once in a while. My family had a 2004 Volkswagen Touareg V8 as a family car, and it was pretty nice. (I'll see if I can find some pictures) Gas mileage was atrocious, but besides that, it was pretty reliable and had great ride quality and interior. The one I really want is the V10 TDI, but those are $20,000+ Pretty cool though.
16. Where are you getting a 6900XT for the same price as a 3070? I have a 3070, if I can get a 6900XT for it, that would be great...
17. Good for you on getting a good price on one! pre-Bangle bimmers have appreciated significantly recently, which makes it harder to find a nice one for a good price.
18. What's wrong with YouTube? Why would a university waste money on something when YouTube works fine? Many High School and Middle School transitioned to unlisted YouTube videos during COVID for their lecture, and they certainly don't have the budgets of large universities to create dedicated portals.
19. I'm not eligible for Windows 11 on my laptop and it has a 7700HQ and a GTX 1050...
20. 33 is pretty overrated imo. Yeah, it's a nice road, but the scenery isn't exactly jaw-dropping. There are some roads in the eastern part of the state that are pretty nice. This one, for example: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0459116,-119.9484592,3a,75y,203.48h,77.51t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sIVq_tBmA5qyw3rGBj_govQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
21. Incoming Photo Dump warning. Drove the Pacific Coast Highway from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara last week. Absolutely stunning. The weather was perfect (almost no fog) and traffic wasn't too bad (I went on a Tuesday). One of the few roads where the speed limit was too HIGH (55MPH is pretty fast on a narrow one-lane road) Heresy, I know. @bcredeur97 You need to come out and do this road... wayyy better than Tail of the Dragon

EDIT: Apparently you can't embed Imgur posts on LTT anymore... 22. Sounds like a lot of effort/time/risk to be able to occasionally use a lift, I'd probably just see if you can find a mechanic buddy to let you use his in the event you might need one.
