  1. I have been eyeing the pb278q for a couple years now and was quite content on buying it since the price isn't looking too bad but i saw these two other monitors recently that have caught my eyes as well. For people that know of them, is the asus monitor worth the extra $100+? 2. I am fully aware of that and have already talked to a few lecturers and i just wanted the general perception of others not necessarily a final answer
  3. At a crossroad and the decision is not very easy for me at the moment so please help me out with a little advice only if you have any that can help me make an objective decision. Not sure which major to pursue in college as both are appealing to me at the moment.
  4. yea thanks man this looks more like it because i know i definitely tore some fins
  5. i know what a hole tearing through fins looks like I have experience
  6. Yea but i kinda said i screwed through the fins so why isn't it causing a problem?
  7. Noob here just wanna find out how exactly it is that radiators work. I have a water extreme 2.0 and was doing some cleaning in my rig yesterday and decided to change the config from push to pull to see if it could help with the dust. I started screwing through the wrong screws and by the time i noticed and took it out i realized i had threaded through a section of the fins. I panicked cause all else i have is the Intel box cooler and no more thermal compound on hand lol. Surprisingly when i looked at the other side i noticed that i wasn't a first time offender as the holes for the push configuration were threaded into the rad as well. So you get the idea of how my radiator looks like it went to war without a vest. surprisingly i have no leaks at all and my temps are normal still and I've had this for over a year and its had those threads through the rad for over a year now. I idle at about 35-40c and at load get up to about 80 when its really stressed.
  8. re mount it properly and if that doesn't help it might be a pump issue.
  9. yea but for the most part the mos recommended noctua fans are the nff-12 and the nfa-14 which are only being done in the industrial grade.
  10. trust me people are blowing this out of proportion. noctua is known for quiet performance. the new black ones are LOUD and sure you can buy low noise adapters for them to perform the same as the old ones did at like double the price.
  11. Well that seems like a pretty decent setup so if your games play butter smooth then why would you?
  12. Something tells me that you already know the answer and are just giving the AMD / NVIDIA fanboys another arena to fight to the death. lol troll.
  13. Even if you make a poll you might eventually see the trend where oyu find more nvidia fanboys saying go green team. Highly expected though since nvidia has more market share so that means more potential fanboys. They both look similar on charts but i chose the 780 not because am a fan boy of any sort but because of just 2 factors. 1: Temperatures - both might have similar td but the 290's are still suppose to push out more "heat" even with aftermarket cooling although some after market coolers might be even better temps than the 780's. 2: EVGA - having had a card die the other day kinda makes me start looking at customer support and warranty more critically and evga seems to have a lot of people praising there customer service and warranty. Go with the one you prefer for whatever reason and you will probably be happy either way both seem like amazing cards.
  14. in the 250gb region there are many aggressively priced drives so yea.
