  1. Maybe run Passmark Memtest86 to check the RAM?
  2. Yes. No. That would use the low timings of the JEDEC spec of 2133/2400/2666 (based on the RAM) and the memory would be unstable.
  3. One word... Activate the QOS of your router or simply limit the download and upload speeds to roughly 70% of your maximum d/u speeds.
  4. Have you tried disconnecting everything and reconnecting? Tried the RAM without XMP/EXPO? Are you using a CPU contact frame?
  5. Did you flash the latest GPU bios? https://www.asus.com/motherboards-components/graphics-cards/tuf-gaming/tuf-rtx4070ti-o12g-gaming/helpdesk_bios/?model2Name=TUF-RTX4070TI-O12G-GAMING Latest mbo bios? https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-z790-h-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_bios/
  6. Well, the i9 9900K would be the only worthwhile upgrade, and even it is outdated. The i7 8700K would be a better choice than the 9700K. The 9700K is the 8600K with 2 additional cores and it doesn't have hyperthreading just like the i5. 8 cores 8 threads. The 8700K is the 8600K with Hyperthreading meaning it has 6 cores 12 threads and it's comparable to a Ryzen 5 3600. The i9 9900K has 8 cores 16 threads and it's comparable to a Ryzen 7 3700X, just slightly weaker than a Ryzen 5700X. But the i9 9900K holds a high price. You are way better off switching the whole platform. The CPU and the motherboard, and eventually the RAM too. For example, i5 13600K with a B760 board with ddr4 support. TL;DR - no cheap upgrade to an 8600K.
  7. Specs? Made sure you've plugged in the GPU power cables?
  8. How long was the battery out? Just taking it out and putting it back in isn't enough to clear the CMOS.
  9. Ok. Let me know about the new version and did it help. Thx.
  10. Why such an old Bios? You're lacking all the fixes, repairs, improvements, and issue solutions AMD and Asus made since 4+ years ago. https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-strix/rog-strix-x570-e-gaming-model/helpdesk_bios/ Flash the latest Bios! After you do that, retest. If it doesn't solve the issue, we'll proceed with some other steps.
  11. Update your Bios first. Then retest. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-Z690-CARBON-WIFI/support
  12. I get Esports Tiger Ice skates from AliExpress and the grip tapes too.
  13. The value standpoint is true. But the only way to get a smoother experience is to get the 5800X3D or to change the platform. Why would it make no sense? Did you swap from a 5900X to a 5800X3D like I did? Did you try the difference in games?
  14. Is your monitor 1080p or 1440p? There are many different LG UG 27" 144Hz monitors. I would agree with the people who replied earlier - the first would be the GPU. Now, based on your needs, you might need to upgrade the PSU too. Meaning, if you're on 1440p and need a mid-range card like the Radeon RX 6800XT, then you also should invest in a good stronger PSU. But, if you're on 1080p, then you don't need a 6800XT or stronger GPU but a 6750XT or such, then your PSU is still fine (although not a great unit). The next upgrade would be the CPU to a Ryzen 7 5700X or 5800X3D. And some additional storage like an m.2 gen4 drive for the OS. Why would you replace your motherboard first? Is it broken?
  15. I run Freesync + Enhanced Sync. That's AMDish for G-Sync + Fast Sync. The best settings would be replacing that 5900X with a 5800X3D. Hope you're at least using PBO offset negative 15 or 20.
  16. Is the m.2 heatsink RGB addressable? 5V or 12V? Try disconnecting that and check.
  17. Check all cables. Ensure you haven't connected a fan header with an RGB strip or something. Something seems to be shorting your motherboard or triggering one of the PSU protections. Ensure there isn't a bad contact in the rear IO, something metal in the USB ports, etc.
  18. Did you clean the cooler? Made sure the fan is working? Other fans also working? Also, once you solve the temperature issues run InSpectre and disable the Spectre and Meltdown mitigations. It will help your CPU performance a bit.
  19. How exactly did you reapply the thermal paste? Disconnected the cooler from the CPU_fan header, took it off the CPU/motherboard, removed the old paste from bot the cooler and the CPU, put a pea-sized blob of paste in the middle of the CPU, put the cooler on top of it, fastened the cooler, plugged the fan cable into CPU_fan?
  20. Get the latest Bios first. Then we'll look for the next steps.
  21. Intel i5 13600K, Ryzen 7 7700/7700X at the minimum, Intel i7 13700K or 7800X3D optimal, or any Intel 14th gen With more than 6 P-cores or Ryzen 8000.
  22. Read the manual. There's info on how to update. No, you do not need to flash older Bioses unless the Bios description tells you to (some Gigabyte boards, for example, state "In order to flash F41 you need to have F30 or newer" and that means if you're on F27 you need to do F30 and then F41).
