  2. The 8700k is pretty toasty and requires a good cooler. At 100C your CPU is most definitely throttling. It won't get damaged, but getting a better cooler as soon as possible is highly advised.
  3. Your motherboard doesn't support SLI.
  4. The 6GB 1060 isn't worth it over the 3GB model if the price difference is over $70-80. If it's less than that, go for it. Which 1060 3GB are you looking at?
  5. That's probably barely above your room temperature, of course it's safe. Temperatures of up to 90-95°C under load are safe.
  6. Not all mini 1060s are terrible. Gigabyte Mini ITX runs pretty cool and quiet, EVGA SC is also pretty good. Zotac Mini and EVGA non-SC on the other hand are pretty hot and loud since they don't have any heatpipes. See if you can find a Gigabyte Mini ITX, those usually run for pretty cheap and the cooling is great for the size.
  7. Yes, it's dead. My R9 280x died the exact same way.
  8. Nope, it can't keep it running at boost clocks without throttling. It's the same garbage of a cooler Intel has been bundling with their CPUs for games. The 65W TDP is only at base clock.
  9. It's fine, though keep in mind that the stock cooler on the i7-8700 isn't sufficient.
  10. No and there's no point in doing that.
  11. Avoid it. The cheapest mouse with a good sensor is the Logitech G102.
  12. The Razer Basilisk is similar in shape and not a brick like the G502. It's still not light at 107g, but manageable for the size. Pretty good mouse overall, one of the best, if not the best in the current Razer lineup.
  13. 1060 3GB, easy choice. You can only buy 780 Ti used and it has probably been used for a while which means it most likely is out of warranty. It also runs hotter and consumes twice as much power while delivering similar performance. Consider the RX 480/580 as well.
  14. No, it's not. AM3+ is an old platform and you can't upgrade it further. You can get a new PC with a Ryzen 3 and a GTX 1050 Ti for a similar price and it will perform better and have upgrade options in the future.
  15. Such hard locks and artefacts are a sign of dead video memory. You can try and downclock the memory via MSI Afterburner or similar software. If the issue still persists, there's nothing you can do about it.
  16. Those are absolute trash. The shell is a copy of the original Deathadder and the components inside are from an office-grade cheap mouse. See if you can return it. Don't support the fake industry again and do a bit more research before making a purchase.
  17. 10% at this performance bracket is considerable especially when 10% is the difference between locked 60 FPS and fluctuating lower FPS. In the best case scenario the RX 470 is matching or 1-2 FPS behind the 1060 3GB, while at worst case scenario you'll have to turn down settings on the RX 470 to achieve solid 60 FPS (I assume that's what OP is looking for with these GPUs). The RX 580 4GB is the best choice if it doesn't cost much more than the 1060 3GB, though it consumes considerably more power.
  18. You know that a 1050 Ti provides half the performance of a 1060 3GB regardless that it has 1GB more of VRAM, right? Not really, it isn't a better choice. The 470 is considerably weaker in the majority of games. The RX 570 comes a bit closer, though the real competitors to the 1060 3GB are the RX 480 and 580 4GB. You can turn some settings down to High instead of Ultra and the 1060 3GB will be more than capable delivering good consistent framerates on 1080p. Also, don't go crazy on the AA, especially MSAA.
  19. Except that it's a "mini card" with perfectly sufficient cooling for the chip that never exceeds 70C.
