  1. Budget: ~ 1500$ Country: Bulgaria Workloads that it will be used for: AAA games on 3440x1440 monitor Hey all, I'm planning a new build. In general I think I have a pretty good idea of what I'm doing, but it's been years since my last build, so I wanted to get a second opinion. These are the parts that I can currently buy from a local retailer with somewhat normal prices (excluding the GPU): PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor CPU Cooler Noctua NH-D15S chromax.black 82.51 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard Gigabyte X570 AORUS ELITE ATX AM4 Motherboard $179.99 @ Best Buy Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory $74.99 @ Corsair Storage Corsair MP600 Force Series Gen4 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive $184.99 @ Amazon Video Card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB Founders Edition Video Card Case be quiet! Paired that with the NH-D15S, will it be sufficient cooling to get a decent overclock? Any relatively cheep fan hub recommendations that I can get from amazon.de? The motherboard only has 4 fan headers, but the build has 8 fans in total. note: I have a gtx 1080 that I will continue to use for the next months, till 3080 prices become 'normal'
  2. Love it! Hope you do something similar for the set. The current one is not bad, but it just doesn't say "tech".
  3. Congrats on the 3 million subs! I'd love to have the new Razer blade 14. The stealth is awesome, but it doesn't have enough performance for my needs
  4. The keyboard, I've never used a mechanical keyboard, and this one looks awesome.
  5. Okay...even if we assume the source is legit and W10 is spying on me, can someone please explain to me why should I even care about it? I mean... I've turned off everything in the privacy options when installing, I don't have Microsoft account, I didn't even give them my email. So even if it is spying on me, what data can it collect about me that either Google/Facebook/my internet provider/etc. doesn't already have? Don't get me wrong, I know privacy is important and I do agree these options should be turned off by default. But its not like MS is selling my private photos to some creep in the dark web. I don't see how this data being collected can be used against me in any way.
  6. I had 0 issues upgrading from win 7 to 10. I have ~30 apps installed and 12 games, they all work fine. You'll have issues if any of your apps are in different language than the OS. It will warn you before the update if any of them are not compatible. After the update you can also roll back to win 7/8, without loosing any data. IMO its not really different from win 7, maybe just a little bit better... I don't really use much of the "new" features.
  7. Exactly the type of mice I like to use...no extra buttons, no software, super light. Been using mine for 2 years now, its time for a change.
  8. Do you need a monitor and peripherals, or only the PC?

  11. No1 said 400$, my mouse is 30$ and I love it. I use to have 5$ before that and I can defensively see the difference. Also good mouse can give you some advantages if you are a competitive gamer. Its hard to draw the line, where you start paying for useless things. If you pay 50$ only so that your mouse colors match the rest of your build is a bit extreme, but "gaming" on a 4$ wireless mouse and saying its good...also kinda extreme.
  12. what you need =/= what you want Yes you could game with 4$ mouse.... but you can make the same argument about everything in life, and start living like a monk.
  13. From what I've seen the G1 comes clocked a bit higher, overclocks a bit better, and maybe has a bit lower temps under load. The G1 would look better in that case, but it won't match the red on the mobo... The difference is minor so don't overthink it.
  14. I don't think this is in school. This is the type of stuff, where if you find the answer, on the next day some billion dollar company gives you a job offer. But then again... what do I know...
  15. I did...they say you still use the last 0.5 GB of RAM. Problem is its not as fast.
  16. Hate to be devil's advocate here but....did nvidia really did false advertising?! To me it looks like they told us the truth (maybe just not all of it). I mean you do get 4GB of usable RAM. If anything get mad at the reviewers who all made big noise about it saying its super duper card and we should all buy it, and yet non of them saw this issue, which to me it looks like some1 with experience in benchmarking should have saw earlier. I don't expect nvidia to recall or compensate their customers in any way. Don't get me wrong, its a shit move from nvidia. I also own a 970 and I'm also upset about it.
  17. Try placing the desk behind the couch, so they'll be back to back... just an idea.
  18. Personally I wouldn't trade esthetics for performance, for 1100$ you could have way more performance. And maybe get CM evo 212 for cooler, and upgrade it latter, rather then spending money for water loop. Also do you only water cool the cpu? Some pics would be nice Not saying its bad, only that my priorities are a lot different.

    MFAA

I am saying I do see the difference with 2x/4x MSAA, but no difference with MFAA.

    MFAA

Not expecting some big changes, but I can't see any at all, but I do see with MSAA...

    MFAA

From today's driver update, you can now go to nvidia control panel and enable MFAA on just about every game for 900 series gpus. (you could do that before, but only on few AAA games) I did some testing on few games, and I don't see any difference in image quality with mfaa on or off. Even the fps stays the same. Am I missing something, or doing something wrong? Are there any other setting I should change?
  22. I didn't really see the point of this card at first, but the more I think about it starts to make sense... From what I see the 960 is better then 285 in every way. So till now if you had a reason to choose r9 285 over r9 280x, now you have even more reasons to choose 960. If you say the 960 is pointless, then so is 285. While the 280x will give you more fps for the same price, it lacks tons of other features the 960 has - Gsync, lower temp/noise/power, mfaa. And when DX 12 comes with games that support it, the fps difference will shrink in favor of the 960.
  23. You should start a new thread - "You know you have no life when.... "
  24. Being competition to 285 doesn't mean it should have the same amount of ram. Yea I didn't think it trough...
  25. I really don't get the point of this card. 1. The 970 has a better bang for the buck. 2. There are better cards from AMD for the same price point. 3. Not worth the upgrade from 700 series. 4. 2GB of RAM...not exactly future proof. There are already some AAA games that need 3GB to run at max settings at 1080p. I'd buy it only for a quiet media PC running a 4k tv.
