  1. Right, the GPU it is then! Also, thanks for the advice on the CPU, i will definetly look into it when i decide to upgrade.
  2. *Also note that my current CPU is not overclocked but that i plan to do so if i upgrade the GPU.
  3. Hey! So i've decided to upgrade my system. I built it in the summer of 2014, so it's performance in the latest games is still acceptable although not the greatest. I've therfore concluded that an upgrade is due, and what i want to know is if i should start by upgrading my GPU or my CPU first? Basically, if i where to upgrade my GPU i would go for a GTX 1070 and if i where to upgrade the CPU i would go for an i5-7600k. Since my current Motherboard (look at the specs down below) doesn't support the new CPU i would also have to buy a new motherboard and new DDR4 memory to go along with it. So my question here is, what should i upgrade first? I'm personally leaning toward the GPU, but a question that comes to mind is if the GTX 1070 would get bottlenecked by my current system? Here are my current specs: MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming socket 1150 PSU: Corsair CX600M CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 780 HDD: WD Desktop Green 1TB SSD: Crucial M500 120GB + Crucial MX300 525 GB RAM: Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz 8GB COOLER: Corsair H60 Hydro Series Grateful for some advice, Thanks!
  4. Yeah, it sound a little strange, but i think that you might be onto something here. Almost all of my large downloads are stored on the harddrive. The only stuff i've got on my SSD is Windows, drivers and League of Legends. So it is very possible that the harddrive may have something to do with the problem. When observing the activity of the harddrive while the computer ran slow, i noticed what i think might be the problem. The activity was at 100% almost all of the time while downloading, with a few drops to 10% activity every 30 seconds or so. Is this a "normal" behavior for a harddrive when downloading files? Also, thanks for helping out!
  5. Hey! I'm having this strange issue where my pc slows down and evetually freezes when downloading big files (With big files, i mean files of 1 GB or larger). With slows down i mean it starts lagging real bad, button presses takes several seconds to register and applications might even stop responding completely. Pausing the download stops the lag from getting worse, but the lag that has already appeared doesn't go away until i restart the PC. If i let the download go for long enough, my PC evertually completely freezes and nothing on screen moves. This forces me to use the physical power button (or reset button) to restart my system. At first i thought that it was UTorrent that was slowing down my PC, since it was most often when torretning that i discovered the slow-down. But after trying to download GTA 5 yesterday (via the rockstar social club installer) the PC decided to slow down aswell. The issue seems to only affect my PC and not other PC's on my network, since my laptop for example can handle dowloading large files just fine (even though it's several years old). This makes me believe that it is not a networking issue. Things that i have tried to fix my problem so far: Searching for viruses using Malwarebytes, Avast Antivirus and Windows Defender. All of them showed nothing. Cleaning the system of any junk files and old restore points (using windows disk cleanup and CCleaner) Unistalling junkware Replacing the torrent downloading software System specifications: Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming Memory: Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz 2x4GB Processor: Intel Core i5-4670k Cooler: Corsair H60 Hydro Series GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 780 HDD: WD Desktop Green 1TB SSD: Crucial M500 SSD 2.5" 120GB PSU: Corsair CX 600M My network is a fiber 100 Mbit/s Download, 10 Mbit/s Upload solution.
  6. Resetting the desktop path to the default didn't seem to have any effect. When i try to change it via Desktop/properties/location there appears no buttons that allows me to change the destination either. When i try typing the destination it won't allow me to erase or replace the text. (Again i apologize for it being in swedish)
  7. Removing the key seemed to help at first, but a while later the duplicate icons showed up again
  8. Yeah, here's the screenshot. Sorry that some words might be in Swedish, if that causes trouble i can translate them.
  9. Well, honestly that doesn't say much to me... any clue on how to solve it?
  10. Hi. Basically, i upgraded to Win 10 about 2 weeks ago, when it was still free. Doing the upgrade from my copy of Win 7 to Win 10 went smoothly, with no issues whatsoever. After having upgraded, i noticed that my user folders, meaning Desktop, Documents, Picturesm Music etc. all where located on the C:drive (my SSD) where i installed windows. However, when using my windows 7 copy i did re-route the locations of those folder to my D:drive, my storage HDD. I decided to ree-route the locations of the folders again, but ended up with a strange issue. Instead of creating only one folder or shortcut on my desktop, now my pc now creates duplicated version of everything on the desktop. If i remove one of the duplicated folders/icons/shortcuts, then both the duplicate and the original dissapears. This is a very strange bug that i've never seen before and i could use some serious help.
  11. Hey. I recently decided to switch my pc case and so i switched from my Corsair Obsidian 650D to a NZXT S340 Razer edition. What is strange though is that i now, after switching my case, recieve a message like this on startup "Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key". After rebooting and selecting my boot device, my trustworthy SSD, the pc starts like normal and there are no further errors. The message above however, tends to reappear at every single starup even though i have configured my boot priorities in the BIOS. I'd be truly greatful if someone where to help me out. My Specs: MOTHERBOARD: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming PSU: Corsair CX600M CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 780 HDD: WD Desktop Green 1TB SSD: Crucial M500 120GB RAM: Crucial DDR3 BallistiX Sport 1600MHz 8GB COOLER: Corsair H60 Hydro Series
  12. Hi, the deal is that i'm looking for a new gaming mouse to use for my setup. I've been using the MadCatz R.A.T 7 for 2 and a half years now, and i feel like it's time for an upgrade. I have quite large hands, and use a claw grip (sort of) most of the time. I have tried the Razer ouroboros but i didn't like it that much. The games that i play most of the time are CS:GO, LoL, Gta V. So, i am looking for a new mouse to replace my old R.A.T, and i feel that i need a couple of suggestions/ recommendations from you guys. What i want the mouse to be like is: quite large a little bit heavy any brand Price range is about 80-100$ USD Thank you for your feedback!
  13. Right of the bat, here is the problem that i'm currently having with my PC. When i play most games, i sometimes get FPS Drops. The frames goes down to 0 for about 0,5 seconds and then returns to my normal values. These "drops" occour every few minutes of playing and i don't know how to solve the issue. The "spikes" also seems to occur when a lot happens on the screen at the same time. Here are the things that i've tried so far to solve the issue, though none of these have worked so far. Unparking my cpu cores. using a different connection (the problem remains) Downloading the latest drivers for my GPU. Cleaning the pc from any dust build-up. Running multiple virus checks. Optimizing the games that i'm playing (enabling/Disabling V-sync and lowering graphic settings etc.) Capping my fps to 144 (I have a 144Hz monitor and my fps goes up to about 200 in almost every game) Razer game booster Using high performance mode (control panel -> system and security -> energy options -> High performance) Updating my BIOS drivers (MSI live update) Checking memory usage while the "spikes" occurs (nothing out of the ordinary tends to take place) Checking CPU usage while the "spikes" occurs (nothing out of the ordinary either) Checking so that i'm not using the intergrated graphics Here are my pc specs: CPU: Intel Core i5 4670k GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 780 PSU: Corsair CX 600M Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 1600MHz 8GB (2x 4GB) Storage: 1 TB HDD + 120GB SSD Monitor: Asus 24" LED VG248QE (144Hz) Motherboard: MSI Z97 gaming 5 socket 1150 Case: Corsair Obsidan 650D Cooler: Corsair Hydro Series H60 This issue is quite an annoyance when trying to play games like (league of legends, Bf4, darksouls etc.) and i really need your help, since i can't find another way to solve the issue. Regards, XyaMorph.
