  1. Hey guys, Motorola recently had a promo where they gave out codes [similar to one they did a while back for Cyber Monday]. I signed up for the promo, but there is no way in heck that my parents are gonna buy me anything right now. WHAT THE PROMO CODE DOES: "This promo code gives you a $140 discount on a purchase of at least $499.99, or $50 off when you spend $249.99 at Motorola.com.* Save big on the devices you love and couple them up, or add your favorite accessories. Start shopping soon because the discount expires on Saturday, February 14. " Comment below if you want it and why and I'll message you the code if I feel you deserve it. The reason I want to know why is because I only have one code and I don't feel like wasting the code on somebody who isn't going to use it. Please be considerate and only comment if you need it or if you are planning to buy something. Thanks!
  2. My recommendations are just apps I have that I use once in a while. Some may be paid, but I managed to get them for free on promos. Scanbot - for scanning documents, may be useful if your friend needs a homework worksheet or if you want to scan a few pages of a heavy textbook PDF Max 3 Pro [or some type of PDF manager] - good for editing forms that are most likely .pdf files Drive - if you use it normally, obviously this would be pretty useful Desmos - graphing calculator app, very simple Calculator3 - calculator app that is nice for iPads Translate, Duolingo - for them foreign languages A+ Pro, Quizlet [or other flashcards apps] - great for studying... make sure to look for apps with the option to import from Quizlet Things, myHomework [or other planner apps] - these are very useful for staying organized and on-task NPR News - new and stuff Wolfram Alpha - solve all the math homework! Cleartune - a tuner if you play an instrument Sketchbook Pro - for doodling, or drawing For accessories, ClamCase Pro for iPad Air 2 - legit stuff, expensive too Anything for ZAGG - they have some solid products, pretty expensive as well Get a stylus - it would be semi-useful... you can pick one up at a nearby dollar store
  3. You should wait a little bit to see what other Broadwell laptops get released. Or you could wait a little longer until Skylake. Also, Linus should have a review of the XPS 13 coming soon...
  4. I just found this post and this is awesome! Thanks OP. Also, I was wondering if it was possible to make a dark theme for the add-on? EDIT: I'm an idiot ... just read the upcoming features
  5. I know that MOST 1440p monitors have DP, but this Monoprice doesn't (probably to drive down the price)
  6. I was going to recommend that, but it doesn't have DisplayPort, only dual DVI and VGA
  7. Jeez! 1000 dollars for a laptop that is only intended for two years... Wow! Anyways, you should look into some Intel Broadwell PC's (IDK if there are any available for sale at this moment). Or, you could also look into Lenovo ThinkPads such as the T440s. You could also go a little over the "budget" and look at the X1 Carbon. The ThinkPads should be able to last you into college as well.
  8. This workstation always shows up as a Shell Shocker. I think they just make rounds to make it seem like it's a limited-time deal.

  10. Wait what... the E440 has an 840? The American site doesn't show that option. Darn, I'm jealous.
  11. Lenovo Z40. Only thing is that it's not super light or thin. However it has an i7, 820M, a 14" FHD screen, and 1TB+8GB SSHD under $700. http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/z-series/z40/
  12. Have you tried Tubex? I know the official YouTube app is terrible, constant crashes for me. Also, maybe you could try restarting your device.
  13. I don't know of any free apps that can do this. There is iDisplay, as you mentioned, and Twomon, both of which are paid
  14. I would get it, but that would involve convincing my parents that this mouse is that much better than my current Logitech wireless mouse that works fine
  15. Yeah I know I was planning on putting stars for the whole word, then I typed "s" and was like #yolo
  16. I heard it's pretty smooth... Did you ever modify the software of the device before? (i.e. unlocking bootloader, rooting, putting a custom ROM?) If so, you are gonna have to manually flash. If not, just wait.
  17. Link to Deal The monitor is 170.99 USD and you get the 100 USD Promo eGift Card. ($70 monitor ...kinda, not really) Quick Description of Product Dell S2340L is a 23" 1080p IPS monitor from Dell (duh). It's 16:9 and it has HDMI and VGA. It normally sells for $200+. Amazon has it at $170 (atm) and Newegg has it at $210 (atm). The Promo You get the monitor at a lower price than usual (I know, I know: Amazon has it cheaper atm by about a dollar). You also get a $100 (USD) eGift Card which, from what I can tell, doesn't have b***s*** terms and conditions. Screenshot of the Item in Cart Note: make sure that you apply the boxed "10% off" coupon code to bring the price from 190 --> 170 (it's not applied by default)
  18. Can you please change the font color to "Automatic"? (Night mode yaaaaaa)
  19. I'm back! Please continue to suggest some laptops
  20. Thanks OP! I don't really want to start a chain... but please support me (if you want to ) http://splur.gy/r/lykdl/r/2TRsbcnpV1W
  21. To kind of satisfy both arguments, I'm putting the 13" Pro under "General Media Consumption" mainly due to its screen. I will also include the MBA, except it will be under "School/Travel" because, IMO, it's most applicable there.
  22. Thanks for the suggestions, added them in
