LostVagueness's Achievements

  1. Personally I think it looks terrible, I'd like it if it was just the polished metal but the crystals stuck to the led's makes it look cheap and tasteless.
  2. Also try stock voltage with max power limit and temp limit and see how far it'll boost, then small increases in the voltage if you're still not happy with the result.
  3. You'll have to experiment with different voltage settings, you may find that you get to a point where adding more voltage is not gaining you any extra overclock and it just making more heat. The card does seem to be running hot at the stock voltage though, how hot is your room?
  4. Are you sure the voltage you are adding is +100 mv, the scale on the voltage is a % so you are just applying 100% voltage on the max overclock. I may be totally wrong but that's just how I read it. Have you done the registry tweaks to unlock the voltage?
  5. That's a good result for stock voltage, I would have a go with custom fan profiles to try and get the temps down, unfortunately these chips do run quite hot. What are your ambient temps?
  6. Yeah the temps do seem high for such a massive cooler, good luck with the results mate. I'm sure you already know but I would also find a way to lift your case up off the carpet, you'll be sucking in dust with it on the floor.
  7. Fair enough, the only thing you could do is play around with the voltage/ frequency curve and a custom fan profile to see if you can get it running a bit better, otherwise it would have to be and RMA if you're not happy. 2025 is still a good overclock on air though and unless you only have it for benching then I wouldn't worry about 50 odd MHz. If you can reduce the voltage and have the card running much cooler and quieter, it really won't have much impact on frame rates. Did you see what it boosts to at stock voltage and the 20+ core?
  8. Nice setup! Have you seen how far the card will overclock at stock voltage? My founders is happy to run at 2025 albeit with a waterblock at stock voltage and from what I've read these cards don't necessarily react well to more voltage, it can often just make loads more heat. I'd be tempted to see how far you can overclock without any extra voltage and what the temps are like then. Do you have the gigabyte software installed as well as the nvidia drivers? I believe there is much greater control of the fans with the software installed and you can make sure that the card is running the right performance fan profile.
  9. Strange one, windows aero themes are supposed to enable vsync in 2d applications, have you tried changing to another aero theme just incase there is a bug? I know it's a pain but if that doesn't work and you have tried various graphics drivers then I would probably do a reformat in case something has gone wrong with windows themes.
  10. Right click the desktop and choose personalise and make sure you are running an aero theme. If that doesn't work, have you tried a custom clean install of the nvidia drivers?
  11. I'd say no, it may be enough for 1080p but I'm already hitting the 3gb wall at 1440p forcing me to turn down some settings in Shadow of Mordor to avoid major frame drops and I'd imagine the trend is going to continue.
  12. Are you using any software to overclock the card, precision x or afterburner? If so check the settings, sometimes I find that the sliders have set themselves to minimum after a driver install and I have to reset the overclock. Otherwise I would try a clean install of the drivers.
  13. Those are some excellent results, seems like you have a great card there, is it the reference cooler or the ACX? Using the standard bios I was struggling to get over roughly 1150 Mhz core out of mine so I flashed to the skyn3t bios and using evga precision x I managed to get 1235 Mhz core and 7400 Mhz memory at 1.212v on my reference cooled card. I now run it at 1209 Mhz core at 1.187v using a custom fan profile to keep the temperatures a bit lower for daily use and I hope to get a waterblock on there soon so fingers crossed I can push it further then. I found that some games and benchmarks would let me push the card much higher but with those overclocks I got instability trying to play tomb raider so I was only happy when I knew it was 100% stable.
