  1. Tech, medicine, ideas, values, relationships. It's more than just tech, humanity has advanced considerably.
  2. We can look back at human history and see dislike of the unknown from the uninformed. We are moving forward in human history where we are advancing everyday and people are becoming more informed and less afraid of the unknown. I don't imagine we will have first contact tomorrow, but in a few hundred years a lot can change for humanity. Just look at the difference from 1910 to 2010. A big jump for humanity.
  3. There are numerous amount of outcomes that could happen. You have listed a couple but they are not the only things that could happen. They could be at the same technological level and have the same barriers on space travel. They could have evolved in a similar fashion and be a lot like us. Once humans master space travel that means we can explore the endless empty universe? That doesn't sound that great either.
  4. True, they could be behind us technologically. But to think there is no one else besides us in 100 billion galaxies, each galaxy having 100's of millions of stars and planets would be creepy. I think it would limit where humanity goes in the future.
  5. Right, but UFOS =/= Aliens. They will admit there are objects that are unidentified they have seen flying through. A UFO can be many things.
  6. There have been discussions in the past on whether or not it's troubling to think that there may be no aliens vs aliens in the universe. Odds are there should be aliens in the universe (Drake Equation) but I think it would be creepy if we really are the only ones out here. I can't be the only one right? It would be really cool to see their technology and how it works.
  7. Star Trek talks extensively about how humanity used to be ("a world rife with poverty, greed, selfishness, ignorance, racism, cruelty, malice, etc.") what changed and how they moved past all of that.
  8. So I know they have Junkyard wars but I think it would be really cool to see what they could build with just what they can find in thrift stores. I was in a thrift shop the other day and was able to find a working Cooler Master 600W PSU and my second monitor is a 24" Samsung monitor as well. I bet it would take a while but be pretty cool. Thank you for coming to my TEDtalk.
  9. As long as I can bring my Nintendo Switch with me, I don't see why I wouldn't go to Mars.
  10. I agree with Stewie, the first thing that came to mind was Star Trek and you should watch it. However, its perspective. "God" has godlike powers and stands idly by while kids die of disease and famine. I think humanity has a good shot of coming together when we have these technological advancements that have the potential to fix the worlds problems(like energy, clean water and food for everyone). I find this kind of news encouraging and a step closer to fixing our own flaws.
