  1. Hmm interesting. Pretty surprising since I've only had it less than 2 years and it hold no programs (or anything that get's regularly read ) Will keep an eye on it and replace ASAP if need be!
  2. Hey there, I have just had a weird issue with my seagate barracuda hard drive where it's maxing out it's speed at a verrrry low rate. previously when copying movies over to it i'll get around the low 100's in MB/s but it's currently maxing out at around 5-15MB/s. I closed my plex server to make sure that it wasn't that just doing a scan on it or something and slowing it down but it persists.. Is this a sign of hard drive failure? and how often should I need to replace something like a mass media drive? Thanks!
  3. Sounds awesome Last question: Can I back up JUST my stock OS? I don't really need the data on my laptop so would I just factory reset my laptop then create a backup image of it? I'll google, myself, how to actually do the backup image. I'm sure it's not hard
  4. Ahhh thank you So if I do an 'upgrade' from Windows 7 rather than a clean install, does that retain my windows product key/license? (still unsure how sturdy windows licenses are after all these years) and yeah the laptop I'm looking at putting it on is not my main (main is my desktop for pretty much everything followed by my SP3 for portable work). as a user of it, could you describe the basic advantages and points that may make it worth getting?
  5. Hey, I am looking at upgrading to the insider preview of Windows 10 on my Windows 7 laptop. Now I know that once Windows 10 releases, I'll get a free upgrade within the first year, but if I get the windows 10 insider preview, will that get an update to the full release? just wondering if I should create a copy of my current W7 OS so I can revert to get the free upgrade and not lose the windows license that came with the laptop. Thanks

  8. Wow such a sweet giveaway! Thanks Linus for your work you walked me through to building my first PC at the beginning of this year and helping me learn EVERYTHING about all the hardware in my pc. You're awesome! I'm not very active on the forums, sorry (don't like being apart of more than one forum and I'm currently into the Star Citizen forums) but I am active on the youtube comments and love seeing everyone else's thoughts on your videos too (so don't disable the comments like you were thinking about :3). I find that the youtube comments section is very helpful and I never even need to come to the forums because my questions always get answered there.

  11. I've got pretty much ALL my programs on my 1TB. The SSD only has windows and chrome browser. Would that be an issue?
  12. Hey there, I'm new to the forums (been watching LTT since mid last year but I don't like to get involved with more than one forum and currently the Star Citizen forum has my attention) I recently built my first desktop in January, and I would like to know how I would go about replacing a HDD. I will give you the whole scenario so you understand what I mean (My Desktop Parts for reference: http://pricespy.co.nz/list.php?l=99272&view=m ) SO, I have my OS and a few programs on my SSD (120GB) and in addition, I have a 1TB for everything else (games, movies etc). But my 1TB is filling up so I would like to copy everything from my 1TB to a 2TB but without having to reinstall programs and then use my current 1TB as a dedicated harddrive for my movies, tv shows and media. So can I get clarification on how to do this? Do I just copy everything to my 2TB and rename the directory letter to the same as the 1TB one was then delete everything off the 1TB and rename that to a new letter? Thank you sorry for my most likely disarrayed post (my brother is practising French right next to me and it's getting slightly on my nerves )
