Not sure if you're going to be editing this, but I'd include what your main intentions are with your rig, so we can give you a definitive answer.

I built my rig this year, upgrading from my Ryzen 5 1600 rig I built back in 2017. PSU is the oldest part I have in here, which is from 2018.

I have the B450-A Pro MAX motherboard, really good motherboard with decent VRMs for the price.

Why are you hostile? He has a point. Ryzen is an appealing option because of expandability, in case OP wants to upgrade from a Ryzen 5 1600 for example to a Ryzen 9 5950X in the future if he does go with B450. I built a budget Ryzen 5 1600 PC back when I first building PCs at 17, now I have a 3700X doing just fine. Yes, Intel may offer more performance (depending on scenario) but AMD has superior upgradability options over Intel, since their platforms last 2 years at the most. Plus how do we know if OP is just purely gaming? What if he is doing video editing and CAD work too?

Yes sir, at least our executives have some of a brain and actually enacted plexiglass dividers and forced customers to wear masks in the building. In fact, all of the lobbies are closing and customers can only get services through the drive thru. I don't get it either, my coworker claims that the virus is smaller than the "holes" (idk what they're called) of regular fabric masks... but the virus is spread through spit droplets though? She also says that the CDC says that regular masks do not work... logically speaking, if regular fabric masks did not work, shouldn't the CDC say that N95 masks are only effective from the virus?

I'm working as a teller at my local bank right now, since I am a student. Small town Missouri isn't the best to work in honestly. Preventing the spread of a deadly illness isn't a human rights violation.

I have a coworker who refuses to wear her mask, and she makes a big deal about it when I ask her to put it on. It's just selfishness at this point, it's beyond ridiculous.

Used to be a semi pro Overwatch player, those specs should be able to run at 144 FPS +, no upgrading required. I had a problem with my current system running at a consistent 144Hz, usually being below 120 FPS, when it would be above 200+ FPS before. Perhaps check the reduce buffering setting in the game, sometimes it can glitch out and cause people to run lower FPS than normal. If you have it on, turn it off and on again to see if that helps. Could you also post a screenshot of all of the settings in game to this thread?

As said at the end of my post, I stated that a GPU would be the better buy rather than a CPU, and that the 3600 is a very capable gaming CPU.

The 3900XT is not worth it as it's just a slightly higher clocked 3900X. The 3900XT is technically the better performing option but whether it's worth it over the 3900X is a completely different ball game. The 3900X would be the better buy, but if you could get the 3900XT cheaper, get that instead. Though I have to ask - is your current config not running at 144FPS+ at 1080p? What games would you be playing, AAA titles or esports ones? If you're looking for better performance, I'd argue a better GPU would be the best option (although the 5700XT is already pretty good), the 3600 is a very capable gaming CPU.

ragnarok0273 gives good advice here, if your priority is video editing / graphic design work. As an owner of a 3700X, it is a beefy chip, and will remain so for quite a while.
