  1. This is perfect timing as I just got a new TV and needed a new HDMI cable. I'm a tad confused which of the AmazonBasics cables performed above spec though. The excel sheet lists these but the video has a screencap of a different cable for a comparison.
  2. The latency this is going to add to your audio setup is going to negate any benefits of it being made wireless, at least when it comes to games. Video and music would be okay, probably.
  3. Would love to have a Blade 14 for some portable gaming!
  4. I don't currently have an SSD, so it would be awesome to have one! I really should have splurged a little when I built this thing.
  5. What makes me interested is that I can plug it into my TV and use it as a media player/game streaming box
  6. Here's my entry! #UltraWideFestival #UltraWide #DreamSetup It's a little... "out of the box"... but I hope you enjoy it!
  7. Thanks for the competition! 4K video for sure! Having a decent camera in a smartphone is always fantastic!
  8. Yep, it's fine, they can choose to do whatever they want. But that doesn't mean I can't feel slightly peeved by it.
  9. Right, and I get that. I didn't make any of the footage in that video. But I edited it together. I took two separate videos and mashed them together to make something new., but I didn't produce the content in the first place. They have the right to do what they do when it comes to their content being used. At the same time, though, it's disheartening. My video's not meant to take the place of one of Linus' videos. It's not a re-upload of his content directly (which is what ContentID definitely thinks it is), it's a companion piece to those videos I used. But even though Fullscreen had no input on the creation of my dumb little video, they get 100% of the ad money. They get peanuts from it, but it's just kind of makes you feel down. Take one of my other stupid videos for example (you don't have to watch it if you don't want): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc6MVKw_guw I spent a lot of time on this video. Much more than anyone ever should. But Capcom sees that I used music from Ducktales, so they get all the profit off of my 11 views, block it on mobile, and block it in Germany. They have the legal right to do so, it's their music; but c'mon, it's from the NES version, which they don't even sell anymore, and someone thinking "gee, I sure would love to listen to the music from Ducktales right about now" wouldn't be coming to my video to listen to it. But no; because there's a chance that I could just be uploading the song in it's entirety without any other content, Capcom owns my video. I guess my point is that, although it is completely within people's legal bounds to do this to matched content, it doesn't make it any less of a blow when your work is just tossed aside. I don't make content for a living - I make it because, I hope, somebody gets entertainment out of it. YouTube's ContentID system takes out any sort of human element to these takedowns/monetization (which is necessary for such a huge site, but that doesn't mean ContentID isn't severely flawed). If Linus saw this video directly, I don't think he'd personally go and monetize it; if Hiroshige Tonomura and the team behind Ducktales for the NES saw the other one, I doubt they'd see my video and react in the same way. I don't own any of the footage in that video; but I own every edit in place there (as small as they may be), and that counts for something.
  10. (I apologize for me butchering that quote, but it's hard when there's two people finishing each other's sentences.) This is funny to hear, as I posted one of these and it got monetized by Fullscreen immediately. I understand that you guys are all for community stuff, but this system is obviously already in place whether you're even aware of it or not. I edited that before that moving vlog was even on YouTube, but I waited until it was published by you guys before I uploaded the video, because I wanted to respect your wishes of having Vessel exclusive content. That didn't even matter, I guess. I don't even monetize my stuff because I don't feel like it's worthwhile to get the 0.02 cents I would get from it, and for that particular video I really didn't do all that much to make it. But it still feels like a slap in the face to get something like this, because suddenly the video you edited together isn't yours anymore - it belongs to a corporation, they get whatever profit off of it they can, and they slap ads everywhere (I absolutely loathe the idea of having ads on my videos). Maybe you guys just weren't aware this is happening. But it is, and it's odd to hear you're against it when it's clearly going on regardless. 13. After using Vessel fora little while I do have some concerns regarding the site. These aren't issues you guys can fix but moreso issues Vessel has to fix themselves. My initial reaction is that the site looks damn good. The colors don't distract from the video, and it's obvious the content is front and center. I was not expecting it to be all that snappy but is considerably faster than YouTube at playing video - though I'm aware that this is most likely determined on where you live, as I've heard less than glowing reviews from others. The only thing I saw as a major downside to the UI was that it has no page for followed channels only - just the individual channels and a home page with channels selected for you. On top of that, the channel pages, due to being tiled with different sized thumbnails, doesn't properly list newest content first; but to be fair, you can easily access this list anyways. No Android support, however, is completely unacceptable. Overall, the site looks and responds great, but they need an Android client ASAP (I watch a lot of YouTube in bed). But my main concern isn't about the platform itself. It's about the content it holds. . As of now, the site is practically empty. There just aren't that many channels. And I can see this being a good thing - it cuts out all the crap you see out there. But as of now, there aren't that many channels that interest me. Obviously LTT, and maybe UnboxTherapy, but other than that, nothing. While I'm sure there will be many more channels in the future, for now that's the major thing that can hold me back from Vessel: everything else I already watch is on YouTube. I'm subscribed to 20+ channels on YouTube, and now I have this other service on another site that's specifically one or two channels. Considering the content is going to be on YouTube anyways, it's a complete other platform for a fraction of the content that I'm going to be seeing anyways. And while I imagine I might try it out for a while with this free trial, I just can't see myself paying $3 a month for 1/10th of my video consumption. And I don't mean to sound greedy - that's only $36 a year, after all - but as of now I just don't see the benefit in it. Perhaps they'll be able to sway my thoughts in the next year (which I hope they do, I like the idea behind it). All in all, I think Vessel is a step in the right direction, but unless they pick up much more content very quickly, I can easily see them going the way of the dodo. People only bought into Netflix once the library grew so big. Vessel is going to have to do the same.
  14. I like it, the music fits nicely and I'm loving that "material design" feel that you guys have been using more and more recently. I agree that the slogan at the end is a little weird, though. It clashes with the tone of the intro, IMO.
