  1. They didn't get free parts, they just tested their support via phone like reseating RAM. Wasted labour maybe, but they didn't commit fraudulent activity, and I think even the extra labour to phone handlers is overthinking things a bit too much. Also I'm sure if they said a part needed replacement etc they didn't send it in for a refund but just tested their reaction and see if they would accept a return or see their RMA process
  2. They look identical to the ones sold in stores like ASDA, Wilko etc so I would assume they're of reasonable quality. My light isn't too powerful as it's an LED one so max 50w load, but being only £5 how wise is it to trust one of these as they're connected to the mains 24/7 unsupervised. Has anyone had any negative experiences with such products before. Would I be better off getting a wireless relay so at least I can disable it when not at home ? I mainly use Alexa at night so I don't need it connected 24/7 but still want some smart capabilities
  3. Depends on the servers they use, most of the time I would assume the bottleneck would be your ISP. Could also be latency or slow resolving DNS servers
  4. I think I enabled the automatic proxy creation but didn't see an improvement in performance, maybe because most of the issue is from the lack of RAM, or both GPU and RAM Yeah I'm looking around through ebay. I can either get a Zenbook duo and eGPU (so I can also use it for normal work like studies etc) or get a gaming one with a dGPU built in and stick with my 2 in 1 for normal work
  5. Yeah, right now it's a nightmare. I only edit like once a week or few weeks, but this will get busier over the summer so trying to get my setup sorted in the meantime. Would a laptop with something like a 2070 MAX Q cut it or would I still be better off on a PC ? Also if I get a newer laptop with like an i7 11th gen, and get a eGPU kit would that give comparable performance or is there still going to be a massive difference ? Yeah I'm defo going go invest in both a laptop and PC upgrades, just trying to figure out which to spend majority of the money on. The 650 is outdates so I either put something reasonable in the PC like a 1080 then go all out on a laptop or eGPU, or just invest in a really good GPU for the PC, but then I will not be able to edit on the go
  6. Would my Ryzen 4500u support it though as it doesn't have thunnderbolt
  7. RAM and CPU both pretty much at 100, I struggle to open task manager with how laggy it is For a GPU around £200, for a laptop around £600. I don't mind used/refurbished items or waiting to get a good deal etc. I was thinking that too but it just seems to be so demanding that it's a pain to work with, and I am not a huge fan of compressing videos before editing (as I like sending people both HQ and shareable content rather than just the lower quality one)
  8. Hi, I currently film in quite high bitrate using my DJI Mavic 2 Pro, and Fujifilm XT-3 (100mbps for the mavic, and 400mbps for the XT3) and my systems aren't quite capable of handling the video to edit. Would you recommend upgrading the current system, or buying a new one ? These are my current systems : PC : Ryzen 3600, 8GB RAM, old GTX650ti Laptop : Lenovo Ideapad 2 in 1, Ryzen 4500u, iGPU Tablet (not optimal for editing though, but does the job for quick edits) : Samsung Tab S7+ I edit using Resolve, Premiere Pro, or sometimes capcut. Should I stick with one of these, or buy a new laptop ? I was considering a new ASUS Zenbook Duo 11th gen i7, but again I would be limited to the iGPU. I could upgrade the GPU in my PC, but a portable option is ideal. Any advice ? Thanks in advance
  9. Atp just file a chargeback and get your money back, you've given them plenty of time to rectify things
  10. Most car keys do not operate above this frequency
  11. Whats the point of archiving them tho, can you not just leave it in the order history
  12. Easiest way it to just file a return with Amazon. If you use their chat, they don't really care about who's right or wrong and just send you a return label. Even though the window is 28 days they will let you return things past the deadline
  13. Yeah, even if they charged the cost of a full licence divided by the timeframe he used it for, that could be argued as reasonable. But a full years licence and add ons on top of that is extortion. Responses from companies like Solidworks and Adobe just make people want to pirate their software even more, to the point where a surprising number of people consider pirating adobe software as ethical, and I don't blame them
  14. People don't buy windows because of Bill gates. However people do watch linus tech tips to see linus
  15. Not enough evidence, so they'll probably still come back clear
  16. Testing the real capacity (jn mah or wh) of phone, laptop and power bank batteries
  17. I agree with this but I don't think the blame should be shifted away from firms, who have the resources to provide a higher wage
  18. No I meant deflation, Deflation results in prices gradually decreasing, meaning consumers will hold of large amounts of spending with hope the prices will decrease in the future. This will cause even more deflation since aggregate demand is continuing to decrease
  19. From a large scale perspective, people spending conservatively would lead to demand push disinflation / deflation which would worsen unemplyment levels & other economic factors even more. And once deflation begins, it starts to become cyclical
  20. Try this : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-do-i-permanently-disable-tablet-mode-in/175a390c-d56c-429f-945c-f353a6a48ee8 You could also try installing or deleting the drivers responsible for the hinge detection. Perhaps there's something magnetic near the sensor, interfering with it. The sensor may have also been damaged, it might be possible to replace. Not sure about your exact model, but it is likely a hall effect sensor or magnet sensor
  21. try running a linux live USB and see if you get any issues with that, just to see if it could be a hardware issue (although unlikely since it only applies to certain sites)
  22. your router could be limiting certain ports or traffic for specific websites or services. Some routers have advanced features like Quality of Service settings or port forwarding rules that can impact the network traffic
  23. Just some advice on getting a refund, if you paid with a credit or debit card, create a chargeback claim with your bank. Screenshoot all the emails, and attach them to reference. Also if they're blaming shipping damage, they've admitted it was dead on arrival, so use that against them
