  1. Have you checked out gaming mice with the honeycomb shells? I remember when mouse shopping a few months ago, the Steelseries Aerox models had IP ratings. So their PCB's were coated to give it water and dust resistance. Maybe those coatings would prevent the issue you're having with the formaldehyde. Depending on your mouse preferences there are possibly other brands out there in different shapes more to your liking.
  2. Something seems so fishy there. With the side panel off, you get a significant drop in temps. But with side panel on and front panel open, you don't... Other than fan orientation or RPM's, I got nothing. I hope you can get it figured out though. That cooler should be able to handle the 5800x3d fairly easily. It won't be ice cold but should be better than you're getting. What fans are you using btw?
  3. 30C lower temps with the side panel off is an airflow issue and not a cooler mount issue. Did you disconnect any of the case fans when you did the CPU swap? Are your CPU fans oriented in the correct push pull config or possibly fighting each other? What kind of fan speed profile are you using? Maybe set a more aggressive fan profile? Increase the intake fan speeds. The case you're using doesn't look like the best when it comes to air flow. Maybe the fans just can't get enough air in from the front panel. Try keeping the side panel on and opening the front panel if possible to see if you get the same temp drops.
  4. I've been a fan of Brainwavz on Amazon. The inner earcup diameter is a little larger and it's thicker for people with ears that stick out a bit. They will fit the ATH-M50X no problem.
  5. You can try and take a look at this one. In their benchmark productivity tests from a different video, the 5600x is essentially trading punches with the 10700k. So substitute 5600x for 10700K and you have a general idea of the differences.
  6. My bad. I have both and I'm going back and forth in my head about which one to keep permanently and which one to sell off.
  7. In my mind, going from the 5600X to the 5700X or 5800X feels too small of an upgrade to make. Like it's an incremental step up, but not a leap forward. I am looking at the 5900X in the future since the price will hopefully drop or if it doesn't, move to AM5/Zen 4. Since AM4 is a dead end path now, the 5900X would be the most reasonable upgrade as far as ''future proofing'' vs price. The iGPU would be nice for troubleshooting should something hit the fan in the future. I had issues with SmartAccess Memory crashing my computer with the RX 6600 and 5600X together and was about to RMA the CPU. Turning off SmartAccess Memory saved me the hassle of RMA even though I probably still should have dug deeper to find the true issues. Main reason I'm curious is the core/thread difference between the two. For multitasking, you always hear more cores and threads. So I was wanting to get people's opinion if sacrificing the L3 cache size (16mb) but having 8 cores/16 threads of the 5700G was worth it over the 6 core/12 thread with more L3 cache(32mb).
  8. So out of curiosity, I was curious of opinions for which CPU would fit the use case better. An AMD 5600X 6 core/12 thread or 5700g 8 core/16 thread. Running dual monitors at just 1080p. (1440p sometime in 2023) Gaming on one monitor while watching YouTube or streaming live TV on the other. Some video editing and encoding. Since it's 1080p, PCIe generation doesn't feel like it's going to be a massive difference maker. So running the 5700G with Gen 3 PCIe wouldn't be a big deal vs the 5600X on PCIe Gen 4. From what I've seen, FPS is fairly close to each other anyway for the most part. Asrock B550M Steel Legend RX 6600 2x16 gigs Corsair Vengeance RAM XMP on 3200mhz/CL 16 700W Thermaltake PSU Playing GTAV, Destiny 2, The Hunter Call of the Wild all maxed out settings
  9. I was just curious if it is even worth it to upgrade from a MSI RX570 Armor 8GB to something like a RX6600 or RTX 3050? With GPU prices heading down, it feels like now is a good time to start looking at GPU's again. Just so you know, I don't run any of my games on ultra settings. I tend to run my games on med to high settings just cause I don't really care too much for every little detail and would prefer fps. I'm locked with my cpu since it's a 7th gen Intel and upgrading also means upgrading the motherboard. Thanks ahead of time for any info you all can pass on to me. i7-7700 non-K 16gb RAM MSI Armor RX570 8GB Dual monitor 1080 @75hz (might upgrade to 1080 @ 144hz if the GPU can be upgraded) 550W Seasonic psu. 10. Thank you very much for the info. I'll try out the left and right setup and see what my friend thinks.
  11. The speakers are portable JBL speakers with a power cable for charging and use. So each speaker unit is a stereo speaker. I think they are JBL Partybox 310. But from what you are saying, I don't need to use the red and white connections on each speaker. I can create a left and right speaker just by using the red RCA on one speaker and the white RCA on the other?
  12. The speakers are at my friends place so I can't get a pic. But it's a standard red and white RCA input for each speaker. They're actually portable speakers from JBL but can be wired for sound input through RCA or bluetooth. The guy I'm doing this for just wants to leave them as wired for his room. Thanks for the info. I had a feeling both input plugs needed to be used for each speaker and you helped confirm it.
  13. So I'm trying to connect a Cambridge amp that has only speaker wire outputs to 2 speakers that only have RCA inputs. I found a set of speaker wire to RCA cables but have a question about the actual connections. Each speaker cable has the red and black bare cable ends and go to a single RCA male plug on the other end. So for example, when I plug this RCA male end to the red input on the speaker, am I only connecting the bare red wire to the amp? My assumption is the red and black are like a positive and negative so both the red and black bare cables should be connected to the amp for all of the RCA inputs. I got 4 cables, 1 for each red and white input connection on each speaker. Do I even need all 4 cables or should I just plug 1 speaker with the red RCA input and the other with the white RCA input? I attached a pic of the cable for reference. Sorry for the rambling but thank you anyone who can help guide me on this.
  14. I could be wrong but if your iPhone 7 is using your same Apple ID as the 11, it could tether your 7 to the 11. So calls and texts to your 11 could also come through on the 7. But you would have to be on a wifi connection for both phones. I have a friend who hasn't activated her iPhone 13 yet, but did sign into her Apple ID. And calls and texts to her old iPhone 8 are going through to her non-activated 13. But disconnect her old 8 from her wifi, and nothing goes to the 13.
  15. The 13 Pro and Pro Max have the higher refresh rate but I thought I saw reviews saying it was a variable refresh rate up to 120hz. It could go as low as something like 4hz up to 120hz depending on what the screen was displaying. It comes with a slightly larger battery to make up for the refresh rate increase. If the higher refresh rate doesn't really seem all that important to you, then you should probably just go with the 12 for the slightly cheaper price.
