    I have a 32 bit os i wanted to upgrade to 64bit, I will use the bootable pendrive to install 64 bit os but do i need to erase all the files in the drive to upgrade to 64 bit? Will all the data in other drive be safe? plz reply..

    You have to format the boot drive so all data will be lost

    Yes I think so. For saftey just plug the drive out when you do it if you can.

    It may not be necessary but I always unplug other drives for a new install, just "feels" right.
     
    I ensure it is clear of all files AND my important files have a known good backup (Essential at all times IMO).
     
    Then its just install the OS, then plug back in the other drives and start remapping the user and steam folders etc (they are all on the other drives, the boot drive only had OS on it and no user folders before starting).
