    Hi guys, Now I am having a GTX 1070. Price of 2070 is said to be USD 550 and new 1070 can be bought for USD 380. Should I buy GTX 1070 and run them SLI or buy single 2070??

    I am not sure about exact life span of a CPU. But overclocked CPU will last more than five years, after which usually CPU get obsolete. (given temperature and voltages are within safe region)

    I recommend waiting till July if you are not in hurry According to reports, Nvidia is going to release new series in July. Usually you get better performance at lower price in new cards.

    Short answer is yes, but, Depend on the game, CPU and GPU. 2 core CPU will definitely bottleneck GPU in latest titles. 4 core CPU will not bottleneck most of the GPUs (for current games). 6 core CPU would be much better since 6 core CPUs are becoming mainstream and it seems new games utilize more than 4 cores. Few games utilize more than 8 cores. Other than core count, IPC (Instructions Per Clock) and clock speed affects CPU bottleneck. Higher the IPC and clock speed, better the performance.

    CPU is unlikely to be bottlenecked by 1070 if you run games at higher resolutions like 4k and 1440P at 60fps. If you game at 1080P 144Hz monitors, CPU is likely to be bottlenecked. In a case like this you can overclock the CPU provided you have a suitable motherboard and a cooler. I have GTX 1070 with a i5 3450. At 4k usually CPU is not bottlenecked, but lowering resolution in games like Fallout 4 and Crysis3, I'm experiencing a bottleneck in CPU

    I'm having I5 3450 and a R9 290x. From my experience, my CPU has been a bottleneck in some games like GTA V, fallout 4, and crysis 3. In some game areas my CPU hits 100% and GPU usage falls below 80%

    R9 380 is a better choice for now. It's better if you can wait about two weeks until RX 480 hits the market. RX 480 supposed to have performace closer to R9 390X.

    Heating issue is not currently available for AMD cards as in reference R9 290 and 290x. Nvidia has better software support. They usually release drivers along with major releases. With current market situation (assuming you are using GPU mainly for gaming), -If you are spending more than $300, go with Nvidia. They currently offers the best choices, GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. -$200, AMD Rx 480 after hitting the market (Supposed to have performance of R9 390X) -$100 or $150, AMD R9 370 or other lower priced AMD card if you are buying i5 processor. Nvidia GTX 950 if you are buying i3 or other budget CPUs.

    My recommendation is GTX 1070. I would recommend Rx 480 in a world where both developers and graphic card manufacturers fully support mult-gpu configuration and utilize extra GPUs fully. Theoretically, from two card you can get double the performance. But that does not happen always. Not all developers utilise SLI or crossfire fully. If a game does not support SLI/crossfire, second GPU will stay idle. Sometimes at the point of release all game does not support this, it takes some time. Ashes of singularity is a special case, most of other games will not share the same trend. From what I have heard, it best to buy fastest single graphic card that your budget can handle (Titan cards are exceptions) . If you are willing to spend more than $1000 on a GPU and want the best performance, go with mult-gpu configuration.

    As far as I know, when you are benchmarking CPU using a game, you should try to avoid GPU bottleneck as far as possible. Digital foundry has vary good videos regarding CPU benchmark.

    I dont think it will be an issue. Most of DX 10 games are produced before 2011. Most of the CPUs can handle those games without having a bottleneck (except pentium and early i3 processors)

    Try using unigine valley/ heaven or run a game. I think Furmark is stressing 290 too much I have a twin frozr 290x, my stock clock is 1030Mhz. With furmark it is below 1000Mhz. When running valley or a game(except Crysis 3), it's1030Mhz.

    In Sri Lanka 390 is about Rs.60000 $426) and 970s are about Rs.63000 ($448). There is Rs. 20000 ($140) price difference between 390x and 980 and Rs. 15000 between FuryX and 980ti

    Shadow of mordor and GTA 5. But those are exceptions. For 1080P it is recommended to have at least 2GB card for now. Assuming you are going to buy a graphic card, if you are considering to keep GPU for another two years, buy R9 390 or GTX 970.

    Dont know what really happens with physx in Nvidia GPU. It can be done on CPU also. Nvidia claims their physx will reduce load in GPU. This feature is usually availabe in Nvidia titles like Batman and Witcher. Nvidia has cuda and AMD has stream processors, much simillar to CPU cores but weaker. There is Cuda programming, you can check with Nvidia website. For gaming having more of them is good, but can not determine performance by comparing them. Eyefinity is name given by AMD for their multi monitor technology, Nvidia equivalent is 'Nvidia Surround'
