  1. Could be drivers or power saving to blame...
  2. If you don't need it right away, Aliexpress, best discounts on 11th of November... Might save a copy on USB flash sticks or even microSD cards, those are rather cheap.
  3. From internet: "I have seen reports where the beep codes only occur if monitor not turned on as when monitor is on the VGA error is overridden." Hopefully it's not some hardware dying.
  4. 4 sure Linux would work better... There do exist windows light versions. 8 GB of RAM on something this old? Disable page file then... Having just 1 core is the bottleneck, and this would even be beaten by Raspberry Pi in single core performance. Disable all services you can, remove everything from autostart, don't keep any files on Desktop, sacrifice visuals for best performance. If it really does have such a great battery life, you could just put it to sleep in stead of shutting down...
  5. GPU at idle sounds like malware... I don't think windows update would use it(CPU sure, but GPU only if graphics driver is being updated maybe), but haven't done one for years... Run msconfig and check what autostarts on your PC in services too.
  6. Overclocking is always dangerous, but you managed to keep temperature under control so far... Want longest possible life for the hardware, don't overclock, rather underclock.
  7. You have not picked the best time for testing.YouTube might be under heavy load right now. In general any obstacle will have effect on wireless signal transmission, even humans, so get source(laptop) as close to receiver(TV) as possible.
  8. Well it should help if you can get it away from other heat sources and lower to the floor, cuz heat rises to the top... unless your floor is heated.
  9. Is it exposed to direct sunlight? Electronics can get hot, but if you believe it's faulty you could try to return and replace...
  10. BIOS uses way lower resolution, and overheating takes time... Just monitor the temperature, and check if there isn't too much dust around the GPU and if cooling is working properly.
  11. Not good 4 sure, static desktop image, not even video. Does it still happen if you use just 1 monitor?
  12. It's not recommended to use phone while it's charging, because that generates extra heat... FaceTime call obviously eats a lot of battery, case closed!
  13. Part of the product price is sometimes hidden in the delivery costs, always compare the sum... Alibaba website is for large orders only, buying in bulk... that is why their prices are so low. Aliexpress on the other hand is pretty reliable, I have received every item I ordered, and even refunds for items that took too long to be delivered or were damaged.
  14. Oh so cable is ok... rollback or update drivers... feels a little bit like speed limiter, could someone else on local network be messing with you?
  15. I I have never broken ethernet cable even when I put my sofa on it by accident, doesn't mean you can't brake it.
  16. If you are sure it's just water to blame, put them in rice xD... shouldn't have turned them on wet though. These things are often cheaper to replace than repair...
  17. Have you tried messing with in-game settings? They often have separate volume for sound effects and speech
  18. Non-free solution: In case it is hardware to blame... Buy an adapter, USB to wifi or USB to Ethernet.
  19. 1st thing to try is restarting again! Else you might have shorted out USB port keyboard is attached to and some more of the I/O ports, the one display is attached to... fans are still getting power so I wouldn't throw PSU away yet...
  20. Oh, try updating drivers on your device then, it's not highly likely for both wifi and ethernet to fail at the same time, that's why I thought router was to blame. Another guess: Maybe all devices combined are using way too much bandwidth? Try to not play while someone is streaming a movie...
  21. You can always disable such things in device manager.
  22. NetBalancer is a free alternative... I mean free version has all you need.
  23. Reset the router, see if that helps... Maybe change router or even provider if you keep having problems...
  24. Could always be a virus, if you get high temperature with idling machine...
  25. Browsing the web is not considered heavy load, your cooler appears to deal with this just fine, but you might not be able to run games or watch high resolution videos...
