Just in case. I want to clarify that each gen is a new platform usually, you can not put a 13th gen in a older gen platform.

16 gig is bug city central for me on PC for any extended time(I have 24 now but always have to leave 40g ssd free for paging). Can get buy with mac.

Right, it make sense since it is a gen 4.(4th gen, not 5th grn: edit) (I have re-taken a look, 200 make more sense now) So used to at least 32+ gig support. I think the standard is 64 if it is upgradable with 13th gen and 7000 series. Have to say those old specs are strange now. Assuming you do actually have 4 spot to put sodimm in, but really, 4 slots of sodimm with 16 gig of total support? That is strange. Though DDR-3 should be cheap enough. Buy another 8gig of ram and put it in. Unless u can do 4x4.(I suppose u can still find them) Though some physical store will have them forever on shelf and never bothered to still og expensive pricing, best bet a second hand pc store or special pc thrist non-profit store and online. Sidenote, most big box store won't adjsut the price that much if they still have it on shelf, there is this thing called minimaum shelf pricing plus it is not something mainstream that can be advertised and selling en-mass

Is there a way to put Cortana back in the search bar in Win 11. I swear that the new search bar at the Win 11 start is way worse trying to look things inside my system like a setting or app. (Cortana app seems to only be a search assistant like google instead of integrated with windows) I actually loved Cortana when it come out, it was the most humourours and humane ai and capable helpfull at the time. Although never used it much due to slowness and quirks like can't stay sign in and need to re-configure after update. P.S. anyone knows any update on the alexa-cortana patnership, seems it never rolled out and no update even if I googled it.

I was thinking of upgrading mine as it constantly bigs me, but I do want to wait till the year end to ge tthe new stuff and getting a mac for now and thus not a new pc till end of year for the new gen. Anyway, mine is a couple newer then urs and its buggy when not having enough ram. Honestly I need the newer gen and u too. Then whe I deleted a bunch of stuff, it didnt bug, it is not 1-1 comparison bc I am running stuff and need it stable so I closed my 1st monitor and make it monitor 2 my only one. But basically it consume ram like crazy, 40 G of ssd all taken up by ram paging and so far so good + my 24gig of ram. I am upgrading the ram to at least 32. All that to say, it is smorning and I cant sleep so have do with my writing all over the palce. Keep at least 30-40 g of free ssd free always, up your ram to 16. Ideally 32. I am assuming it is a laptop. you can Also go 16 gig to have 24 g of ram but I do not know how many stick you can put in. If you have 1 slot, go with 32 or at least 16

Single task seem fine, mutitasking just seem really slow

Can anyone confirm once Win update is ready it will slow down your pc make it super laggy and force you to restart the PC, otherwise you can't do nothing as it is so slow. And no more internet connection or not uplinking data from my own server I run in virtual on top of my PC as well.

Don't you just love wasting 4hours doing nothing but account verification, password reset and can't log in bc need email verification since I haven't log in for a while and my junky outlook never receive that freaking email so I ahve to do multiple times back log in help log and resend code and not get it. Seems I had this kind problem before too with outlook, and OH yeah, fucking catpha or similiar thing over and over ago I must have done it 50 times. And at the end just decide to spend 10 minutes re-create a new account? Time to spend another 4 hours to migrate emails to a new gmail to replace my outlook. Apparently their is no point in having a MS account in outlook since since MS account is separate to outlook. Was just a legacy outlook from the live era. Though I remember more foundly the live era of emails. Anyway, just getting stupid and stupid and spend even more fucking frustrating time to sort all the account out. Hopefully the recovery email cna receive the fucking email. SIGH

So I am upgrading and puging ssd's, but here is a problem, I do have to juggle a bit of data around and now my 512 ssd is full but I have no idea what is taking so much space. I need a did the usual check and none have massive space and no games on it(have dedicated ssd)so is there a software to target and locate what app and subfolder is taking up the space. also a circle graph to know what kind is tkaing up space(optional) . Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Some more appliable then other but thanks for the reply. Learned some new tricks actually. Here is what I did at the end; I deinstalled SRIRON(technically it's a layer on top of chromium and have the same path and recognisation as chromium thus I can't run both at the same time) and it leave with me Chromium and after sorting out the programm file, appdata, taskbar and manually delete that file so it doesn't conflict over when it opens when I click the taskbar and I do like it uses less ram and works. As a third browser I tested Brave and Vivaldi, Brave I find it inconsistent, UI not the most comfortable, and recover function after crush not working most of the time and is way more ressource hungry and display less usefull info while being slower, I uses Vivaldi as my 3rd. browser. One thing I love is Vivaldi tells you how much data is being loaded when opening a webpage, very good to capture the attention the few seconds it takes for the webpage to open, a good distraction and details goes a long way reducing boreedom and frustration lol. As for the other suggestion I think you all made, different profile and different instances, the thing is I do not want to close the app(chrome) when it crushes or I have to task manager and force close it and keep certian task that do not have recovery keep going + just a pain restoring all the hundreds of tabs and take a hell long time. I need separation of apps. I wish Silk, Amazon browser had an win app, it is quite fast and sleek. Lastly, hope ya'll kept your new yeear resolution; So far at least lol

....... Thanks but one is 4 years ago. Which is when half of the new edge used to beat up chrome itself and not buggy and resource hungry. Chrome just had a update that seem to close the feature gap like native price tracking with the new update. Not My edge is so buggy and freeze my screen. The other is no help at all since I am not looking for any mainstream ones as my secondary but a chrome alike without being chrome and withoud bugs or features of privacy that force re-check in each 8 hours bc apparently the browser itself tokenise the sign in time as a security and privacy feature. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you know how long it have been? On a side note I am thinking re-installing my other app into the UWP path folder but need more research done path is hidden and also don t want to lsoe the data already on my other app or do we still call them program/software the ones we install traditionally?

It is URL. I had this problem years before in Win 10 although I guess it doesn't matter here, it forced me to deinstall Torch and everything work automatically. I needed it now to run something, I tried CMD, Regedit etc, none worked. My best guess it's bc somehow it is a UWP and conflicting with the UWM system and as stupid as Windows is, UWP have priority. Nothing against UWP, but you either drive fast or slow, stuck in the middle of the highway is dangerous(UWP is stuck in the middle). Trying my luck here to see if anyone have any ideas, people are creative here.

Stupid win settings. I need the default app to be another app. That is not a UWP, I already have it on Program files

Yeah, I mean more in the traditional sense. The site is more corporate, nothing wrong just though there would a in between, a forum and a website that is fan facing.

I usually will have a lot of pages and each lots of tabs open of forums etc. It will be just be easier to have another app on the taskbar. And easier to be on 2 account. The main thing is if it crashes I don't want to restart a file transfer etc when I go taskbar.
