  2. Think of your DAC as speakers before your speakers. Windows is controlling the volume sent to your DAC, and your DAC is controlling the volume sent to your speakers/headphones.

  5. The only way you're not going to get fired within a few weeks is if you step up and work very hard during those 10 hours a week. Show them that you're valuable there, or they won't want you.
  6. hopefully they never did it with the Xeons; I've never seen any that did.
  7. Mark topic as solved and go rekt some kids in CS.
  8. *sigh*. 99% chance he downloaded the drivers from september last year.
  9. Why did it take a mod to realize the 99C thing?
  10. This is your issue. If you're using the stock intel cooler, the pins are annoying and you probably didn't seat it correctly. Take the motherboard out and re seat the cooler with new thermal paste. Also make sure the fan is spinning. If that doesn't help, look for third party solutions. In a perfect world the stock cooler shouldn't be getting that hot, but it could be if it's broken/installed wrong.
  11. unfortunately, even if you were getting 400 FPS before, if you limit it to 200, it's going to dip to 150-ish at times. Source engine sucks. I've found 250-300 to be a good limit. High enough to not notice as much, but low enough to be below the performance limit. You can also try disabling any and all overclocks/boosts. Changing or unstable clock speeds could mess with it.
  12. Some times they don't even allow different CPUs. They worked with intel to make their own custom Core 2 series chips, and some i3 chips. Regular ones wont work, and theirs wont work on regular motherboards.
  13. The source engine is a fickle bitch. What you're describing sounds like the issue I often have, and is usually the problem causing me to suck (and then get tilted and suck for real). In source, your sensitivity is tied to your FPS. So if you jump down from 400 to 300, it feels like you just cut your sensitivity a bit, and that feels laggy. One thing I've found helps is disabling all my other monitors, disabling any black EQ on my monitor (Benq turns it on by default), and letting more natural light into my room. I have a similar setup, and issue. It also feels more consistent when shadowplay is ON.
  14. this is the #1 problem people are having with windows 10, i've even had it on fresh installs. The only reliable fix i've found is to reload the machine, and even that sometimes breaks later down the road.
  15. Currently running a GTX 980, so not really needed, but would still be used regardless.
  16. This topic is such a shit show as it is, it might be better to stick to off topic. Or lock the thread, as most amd vs intel stuff is, and should be.
  17. Why would you do this when my above reply has worked since 10.6.5?
  18. Boot to recovery media, open terminal and type "resetpassword". Boot into OS, delete key chain, learn your lesson and don't forget next time.
  19. Lets roll-oll Remove ALL source engine games. TF2, Dota, LFD, etc. Anything that uses source engine, remove it. Go into the steamapps folder and delete the remaining csgo files (Leaves config files sometimes). Now re install csgo and see if it still happens. Alternatively, you can also test other source engine games, like tf2, to see if it happens there too.
  20. It depends on the servers as well. Each server as a "server fps" and most of them are quiet low.
